HELLO AGAIN I've been very busy with personal matters including school, but figured a good way to ground myself was to get back to drawing. Decided to try and finish a new monthly challenge, been too long since I did that so I'm dedicating the next 31 days to a new prompt idea I'm doing called Hometober. I want to capture memories and feelings from various "homes" I've experienced. They won't be 100% accurate, but they will have some correct details based on real-life events.

This first prompt is "What does home feel like", I call this "Spaciously far away". More details under a read more.

This is based on one of my childhood bedrooms in Peru; I was a month from turning 4 when we moved to Canada so this bedroom I shared with my parents in my grandmother's home was the one I remember living in the most. The outfit I'm wearing is directly from a photo my dad took that I remember loving. The bed and window are where they are in my memories as a child, though having been to that room again for the first time in years showed me how small the room really was.

The door leads to a bathroom, it was small but functional and I remember the tub feeling big even though it would have been barely enough for two adults to stand in let alone sit down.

The window was small and peered into the tiny garden surrounded by concrete walls that was next to the dining room. It had lots of plants and a small fruit tree though I can't remember what kind. I could see the neighbours down that direction too and their yards, though calling them yards are kind, they were very much just rectangles with no ceiling. The view to some would have been grey, but I remember feeling like a big kid peering into the world. Maybe the next time I see the house, if ever, I'll feel that way again.

The bed was a toddler bed with plastic sides and I remember there being a safety wall on the side but I couldn't get it to look right. Pillows were always falling because I had a big head and I felt off balanced when I used them. I still loved it, I felt like a big kid being in her own bed, despite my parents bed being just a few feet away, if even.

The carpet is the least likely thing here, I can't recall much of there being one but I have the faintest feeling there was but perhaps my mom just took it outside to be cleaned more often than not. I had similar carpets in later bedroom set ups so I figured it wouldn't hurt to add it here all the same.

2003 makes it 20 years in Canada this December, so I suppose doing this challenge was good timing. I might do something similar in December baring what projects I have to do and exams, but I'll try.

Hi all, I wanted to make this post to set some gentle boundaries when it comes to my au.

I’ve had a few interactions like this now, and I’d rather make a post explaining my boundaries to prevent it from happening more.

This is not directed at one specific person. It has happened a few times with different people. I may reference experiences but the post in general isn’t directed.

Okay, to the point. Please do not make unsolicited comments criticising my designs/animal pick for characters. Especially if it’s a finished design. If you’re not happy with my choices, you have free will- pick up a pencil and make your own.

This includes backhanded compliments such as ���this is cool, but I’d prefer if they were a ___” and “I’ll only see (character) as an (animal) but…”

While they may not be intended as such, these come off as rude and really hurt my feelings. You may know by now that I put a lot of thought and effort into every single design I��ve put out.

There are multiple factors, not just their personality and their looks. I take into consideration the dynamics they have with other characters, their behaviour, the way they move, their trap, etc. Some characters are designed with an overarching motif, for example, Wrath of the Gods (ty to the ppl who corrected me) are based on street animals, vermin, and each character will fall into that category. Adam and Lawrence? Cat and dog dynamic. Hoffman and Strahm? Competitors. Biological enemies. You get the gist.

Either way, I care a lot about my designs and for someone to invalidate them blatantly does hurt my feelings! And it does stick in my head for a while. In short, think about what you’re typing before you hit send. It may mean nothing to you but I assure you it means something to me.

If I am looking for advice on a characters design, I’ll ask for it! Suggestions on these posts are okay! As well as on concept sketches of a new design.

If you have said something like this and I ask you not to because it’s rude, please just apologise and promise you won’t do it again. Do not argue with me and make me feel stupid/belittle me for my boundaries. That adds salt into the wound and you will be blocked.

I will not dislike you or hate you for a misstep; it’s just about respecting me and my art.

On that note, I don’t condone people comparing my au to other animal AUs, or other artists in general. Do not tell another artist mine is better than theirs or vice versa. That is also rude and frankly, toxic. We are all human beings and deserve to be respected.

Having said all this, I want to say that if you have your own animal au; please don’t be scared to tell me about it! I love hearing and seeing others interpretations of the characters, all are valid in their own unique ways.

I also do not mind if you draw yours interacting with mine, in fact I love it! So don’t be scared to show me.

for me the term tirf is actually a means to an ends -- if i hadn't seen the term tirf i 10000000% would've NEVER orbited radblr. and radblr genuinely saved my mental health unlike anything else.

i legit thought it was pure evil, like incels or white supremacists. but the term tirf turned a gear in my head and made me go... huh...? is there more to radical feminism than i thought? the term, the label, is a hook to show nuanced tras, tras who are on the fence about many things, that we have the complex feminist conversations in here that they have always been craving. for me being a tirf means being a mediator between radfems and the trans community. it means making accessibility for dysphoric folks WITHIN REASON without stepping on female & homosexual rights. it means acknowledging the oppression that some transfems may face, and calling out the ableism (against dysphoric folks) & gncphobia rampant within radblr, while also openly calling out how fucked up the tra movement has been to female/ofab ppl and homosexuals. it also means often using terminology that tras understand and combining them with radfem terminology so that ppl understand what radfems ACTUALLY mean, and not the version they see in tra text posts misrepresenting radblr.

as a physically & mentally disabled detrans woman, my tirf activism is also my disability activism. it also involves my strong alliance with gnc folks as a soft butch woman - including with gnc people who are dysphoric, or even just personally enjoy trans/nonbinary labels as a gnc subculture. i still want to call out their much too common sexism, misogyny, homophobia (especially lesbophobia) and other bullshit. i want to be a haven for freshly peaked trans allies orbiting radblr.

if you are a radfem, you do not need to become a tirf. that is not my goal at all with this. we need all kinds of radfems, including strictly female-focused radfems who i really do highly respect. with my own personal brand of tirf activism, i am merely appealing to people who are already orbiting both tra and radfem spaces. people who are already emotionally invested in both trans activism and female activism. slowly peaking misogyny-affected ppl, especially homosexuals, who are still wary of radblr. i'm also appealing to trans-identified people, those affected by misogyny & gncphobia who can benefit from having a corner of radfeminism to speak on their unique experiences and can strengthen the radfem movement. i also reach out to ppl who don't identify as radfems but are disillusioned with mainstream feminism & mainstream lgbt activism. a lot of us have been harmed by tras. we desperately want to stop the tra movement from harming more female & homosexual people and work hard to limit more painful detransitions... yet some of us also need trans accommodations and support due to their dysphoria to participate, and topics may often include trans issues and trans experiences.

this does not need to be something you are involved in; i know it can get frustrating. but for those of you who are curious, who are new to radblr, who are maybe dysphoric or trans-identified or just want to both support trans people and do real feminism, my inbox, DMs & discord server are open and we're waiting with open arms for you.

Some info about me: I am single and have never been in any relationship so I am curious to know how my first one will be. I am very strict with my boundaries and has high standards when it comes to who I allow into my life since I don't like toxic ppl and situations(I've dealt with toxic ppl before and it was terrible so i am never going to allow toxicity in my life again) and that's why I am choosing to remain single until I meet the right one for me since I don't want to waste my time and energy on the wrong person. Immediately, I get the feeling that she's a rather playful and silly person. She is full of humour and joy in general, and likes to make jokes in any appropriate situation (and sometimes inappropriate ones, but it's always harmless). She could even be quite sarcastic and jokingly bully or tease people. Again, it is always harmless: she's quite emotionally aware and intuitive, and doesn't cross any boundaries.

She might have some "childish" interests that she gets rather passionate about. Regardless, she speaks with a lot of energy and is very animated by nature. She seems to be a very bright and enthusiastic person. She has a lot of energy and her happiness is very contagious to the people around her. She is not overwhelming, though! She's not loud. She's quite calm, in fact.

While the current description might paint her as a ball of energy (which, internally, absolutely!) she's externally rather composed. Her inner chaos bubbles out through her rambles - she could interrupt people sometimes, or go on very long tangents - and through being clumsy and forgetful. She might lose and misplace things a lot; she might have ADHD, or at least show a handful of the symptoms.

However, she's also extremely caring and considerate. She is warm and welcoming and knows when to tone herself down in order to not overwhelm the people around her. She is quite forgiving, too. She treats conflict with an open mind and considers all perspectives in an issue.

Overall, she's quite a sweet person with a great sense of humour and an ability to make anyone laugh.

And you could always make a side account for proship stuff if you want to be able to take a break from the intense pro vs anti stuff if and when it gets too much, whilst still having a place to enjoy that stuff.

Honestly I think a lot of the issue is people seem to take the word "ship" as their ideal relationship. Less so than a dynamic they enjoy in fiction. But I don't know, I can't pretend to understand the mind of antis.

Proshippers and multishippers getting clumped together is probably linked to the idea that a ship is a pairing you want to see canon and shows actually pandering to ship wars lately. Or maybe people are just weird!

I don’t think they can appreciate the finer details of historic libraries like we do.” The last sentence was spoken with a sarcastic humor that admittedly made you smile. idk just wants to know more about you in general. I think when he finds out you’re studying in med school his ears kinda perk up and this is when he becomes less introverted with you.

he’d ask you so many questions and I think whenever he’s anxious about something he feels comfortable enough to turn to you about his worries of becoming a medic in the army.

Because you’re so sweet and observant you catch his worries from a mile off and I think depending on the type of question Gene was worried about- you could laugh about it with him, or genuinely sit and give him good advice.

So he pretty much just falls in love more and more every time he see’s you. I think at this point, once you’ve become more open with each other he’d find more reasons to spend time with you.

So first; i have a few tips for u if shifting isn't working. I mean i have been shifting for almost 10 years and only recently found out that it's a thing many ppl do lol. Maybe try meditation before? It helps for a lot of ppl. once u feel like u got that down; try different shifting methods and either listen to ambient music or your fav music. That's what works for me at least. don't stress abt it; stay calm and just believe that u can do it. coming back after is probably the hardest part for me ngl. but for me it helps to think abt my cat or my things i have in my room.

anyways...the brainrot *cracks knuckles* soo I was kinda unsure of ben in the beginning since, u know i actually think he kinda smexy and all, but we kinda hung out from the beginning. I think I already told u quite a bit abt him. Oh yeah they r a ll in their 20's btw.

He's so chill. we paint eachothers nails and i do his makeup sometimes lol. Oh and i actually have my phone there too. Sometimes I read him fanficts (yes yours too) he loves it sm. he always calls me out when i stare at toby and jeff.

Those two idiots- man one time i watched them fight over a fuckn spoon; for like 20 minutes; for cereal. cuz u best believe noone does the dishes. they were both still in their sleepwear...so yeah basically half naked bois. I was obviously staring but they were way too busy fighting over a spoon. ben was sitting beside me eating his cereal with his perfectly fine spoon; side eyeing me and enjoying the drama. Another time i was singing with Nina, uh this song "guy.exe" lol it was so much fun. And then those three (they usually hang out together ig) walked in on that whole stick. it was uncomfortable to say the least 😃 well Nina is great at encouraging others tho. They basically tell me the same thing u did, all the time. Nina's pronouns are they/she btw. Nina also often tells me abt when she used to be obsessed with jeff lol. She isn't anymore guess that was to be expected since Nina is like 21 now. Don't get me wrong they still think he's hot but they don't give a shit if he likes them or not. Basically Nina is a Bad bitch who doesn't need a man. rave/scene queen👑

First I really really appreciate your shifting tips I love it when you pop into my inbox and even more when you talk about shifting because it gives me a lot of hope. I always try to listen to subliminals or songs that sort of connects my emotional state to my intention. 

The fact that I had to wait like three hours to respond to this because I could not stop crying. That he knows about??? God I’m gonna be crucified. What does he say I’m so curious I spent so long not knowing how I felt about this. I was like am I jealous or am I extremely sad or am I happy that he knows?? But he knows about me and well I assume he knows about me but if not he he knows that I write a fan fictions and that makes me so pathetic I know.
