#my interpretation of fnaf

@sparklykat-hideoutenthusiast @psych0t1c-bread I'm gonna just tag both of you here since you guys asked basically the same thing in 2 different posts, and I don't wanna copy and paste the post twice.

My interpretation of FNAF lore (specific stuff should just be asked on my inbox, cause I'm boiling down my interpretation of it, and this is my basic foundation for a lot of my rewrites too)

In my wonderful imagination FNAF ends at 3, with FNAF 4 acting as complimentary material instead of "The end" of the story (as i believe it's far more satisfying that way) , anything that happens later (FNAF sister location onwards is relegated to my FNAF rewrites and AU's for I find that they just bloat a perfectly good story for no reason and without any consideration of placement within the timeline, isn't that right, the mimic?)

Purple guy is just an employee in my interpretation, it's a lot more believable that he gets away with murder when he's just some random dude instead of the CEO of the whole thing (specially when he's doing it with his own hands) he's very trained with the spring locks suit, and helps other employees get used to them and basically train them to do their mascot stuff, he's basically the man that does everything in the job, it's starting to get near some kid's birthday and they must get ready for it, so they start preparing and stuff, and then foxy bro starts bullying the crying child, every day until the birthday, and the pranks foxy bro starts to escalate with each day, some of them ending up with purple guy getting in trouble, specifically the one where the crying child gets stuck in the parts & service room, times goes on and the birthday comes and the bite of 83 happens, everyone panics and all of that, purple guy ends up getting scolded again and then gets fired for his inability to supervise children, he then blames the loss of his job on the bullies who killed the crying child and the rest is history.

The puppet is the one who stuffs the suits with the bodies of the children (based on the fact that the purple guy literally leaves the bodies of the children out in the open in the mini game, or he puts them in the parts & service room before going away and then the puppet does it's thing, cuz the room in GLGG is very small.)

FNAF 4-2-1-3 happen in that order, you know what happens in those games, it ends in FNAF 3 with the souls being freed, I believe that this backstory for purple guy is good enough to tell the story that FNAF is trying to tell, and ends with an extremely satisfying conclusion, FNAF 4 only serving to give a reason for why the purple guy is doing what he does, without going into the tangled mess that is William's motivation, and without being "The end" of the series (dream theory is stupid, when does the dream end and reality starts back up??) and still leaves purple guy's identity as a Mystery so you can come up with as many names you want for him and back stories, but he still gets what he deserves in the end without making you feel compassion for a dude who doesn't deserve it.

ok i know i said i wasnt gonna post about movie but i do have one thing to say

one thing i reaaally thought was interesting was the springlock scene, when he put the head back on. in the game, we see him putting the whole suit on, and head, before the springlocks kick in. he was using the costume to scare/intimidate the kids. creation turns on creator and all that.

but in the movie, the springlocks have already kicked in BEFORE he can put the head back on. it wasn’t going to make a difference what he did, there was nothing he COULD do to stop it.

i think him putting the head on was him accepting that fate. it was him knowing he was going to be killed, knowing he couldnt escape, but accepting to seal himself to his favourite yellow rabbit for the rest of his ghostly existence. in fact- not just accepting it. but choosing it. look how smug he is! he even says the so iconic “i always come back” AS he’s putting it on! he KNOWS he wont really be killed, not permanently, not while he’s springtrap.

i just think its such a cool difference from the game. where originally it was an accident, wasn’t meant to happen. this time, it was a choice. originally, it was almost a tragedy- forced to live on forever alongside his victims. we had no way to know if thats what he even would’ve wanted. but this time, it was a CHOICE.

I reaaaaallly hate how fnaf fans seem to hate any interpretation of william afton that makes him even a bit complex or gives him a proper motivation like it ran over and beat their grandma or something. doesn't even have to be an interpretation of his canon self I've seen people get pissy about it in AUs and whatnot. this is especially common in twitter and reddit from what I've seen and admittedly even I used to be like this

yes he's probably an unforgivable asshole in canon, he's also barely a character whose motivations we literally do not know by just looking at the games and have to turn to outside sources to have even an idea of, but why would someone having a "willcare au" make them bad (actual point of criticism I've seen). Like no, making him care about his children does not mean treating him like he's a good father, in fact, fathers who care about their children can also treat them like shit and/or be extremely negletful! (very common irl!)

this also applies to whenever people make his motivation related to his dead son, which for some people seems to be code for "this person completely justifies everything william did to his own children and others and should be beaten to death with a sitck", when most people who do that also make him treat Mike like shit so I do not see how its remotely pretending he's a good father

Mmh! Okay—only if you guys were like, super familiar already. and he liked you. a lot. and he knew your hands were clean. Otherwise, Moonie's the only one he's comfortable with touching his hair. Anyone else tries it, and he’ll be flinching away, making excuses, and inching toward the Lysol.

If all the above is true, he quite likes having his hair played with! Twirling strands, gentle tugs, carding through his mane with your fingers. He’s lids will droop and he’ll get a dopey smile on his face 🥴. Be nearly purring in no time.
