Hiii I love your work & Just genuinely Curious. If you got to make a Deadpool movie, Fox backing you up and all. What would it be like or about? Would it be an original story or adapt certain storylines like how Andrew & Tobey did with Spidey? Any specific actor in mind for Wade? Idk just again curious how a Sci made DP film would be

oouugh... my dream deadpool movie is honestly the first deadpool movie but with like. some changes. not even major changes. even ryan can stay. i can't really think of anyone i'd like to replace him – i've always been kind of bad at fan casts - my imagined wade wilson is so specific, i don't think there are any actors that could come close, no sir. i think i'd do the origin - as is - i kind of like the flipping from present to past motif they have – i'd probably keep more scenes they had in the script in the final film that they wound up cutting – i've revolved it in my head, really, how i'd fix that first deadpool movie, and really - first, i'd keep this scene in:

and i'd shift the ending so that wade just... doesn't get the girl at the end. vanessa walks away. because he's become something else. and actually, a guy like deadpool shouldn't get the girl. he saves her, he saves the day, but actually – becoming deadpool, and becoming so wantonly violent and you know, becoming the exact kind of killing machine he did not want to be – 

oy.

i feel like the film wanted to set up this theme that wade needs to be better than this. that he desires to be better. but when he becomes deadpool he spirals back into old violent habits because he deems himself unloveable and does everything in his power to make himself "loveable" (aka attractive) again for vanessa. but what he doesn't realise is that it's not his appearance that does that – it's his actions.

so i think my perfect deadpool movie would be that first deadpool movie, but committing to the theme that actually, just because wade was dealt a shitty hand doesn't mean he has to be a monster. and that his violence isn't something funny or romantic. and that he can change. instead of us seeing this guy who clearly wanted to escape violence... being pushed back into violence and what's worse, being rewarded for it.

it's such a weird, twisted moral attached to the first deadpool movie and i'm constantly thinking about it. i remember the first time i read the leaked script, back in like, 2012, i said: "it's so good, but dear god i hope they change the ending." and they didn't. they just did not. and so when i first saw the deadpool movie i was so thrilled but. when the credits rolled i kind of audibly sighed too. because wade shouldn't get that ending. not yet. not until he does the work.

i also would've given vanessa her powers. or i would've at least teased her powers. i think having it be a surprise that wade didn't know is a delight. save it for the sequel, but tease it. or, honestly – the original script kind of did tease it. like, it's very readable that vanessa could be a shapeshifter, in the original script. she's shapeshifter-coded.

i think i wouldn't do a deadpool movie without first doing it as an origin – the set-up is so important. i don't have any sort of grand plotline i'd do with wade. maybe i'd love to write a cable and deadpool movie – or an x-force movie – god, i want an x-force movie so bad. but honest to god, there's not really any plotlines i'm eager to adapt for the big screen. wade wilson has decidedly less interesting villains and storylines than spider-man has, unfortunately. like, sorry. all his villains kind of are stupid. they've really tried to give him villains but, dear god. the best villain he's ever been up against is his ex-wife. and i don't know, i don't think i particularly want to see shiklah in the movies. i think i'd much rather see grounded, personal stories with wade – ones that don't deal with monsters and supernatural beasts – but, with other mutants, i guess.

if i were to pitch a new fresh deadpool movie in the existing deadpool franchise, save for an x-force movie, i'd love to see wade being recruited as an x-chaperone, and having to look after all these mutant kids but him being completely out of his depth throughout, and they drag him on some huge "world-ending-stakes" adventure but actually, the personal stakes stay very small, and it's almost a ferris buellers day off affair but with more spandex. these kids with their powers run amok and wade's trying to wrangle them but is also whisked away in all the fun of it and is actually worse than they are when it comes to staying well-behaved. they take over the macy's parade... maybe logan swoops in to yank wade by the ear... other x-men cameos abound. that's a deadpool movie i'd love to see. if i were to make a fresh one, that would be it. ferris bueller's day off, but with more spandex.

Ollie didn’t know what he’d been expecting when that door opened, but this wasn’t it. As far as he’d been told by everyone at the Agency, John Juniper was dead. And also evil. But mostly dead. How many of the million questions suddenly going through his head was he allowed to ask?

He decided to start with the one least likely to get him in trouble.

“Now, hang on—“ Ollie held up his hands. “I’ve seen the news and read your files, but why did you think I was dead? How do you even know who I am?”

They had met once before, that was true, but the meeting had been so brief and accidental that Ollie had a hard time believing Juniper remembered him.

“When the Fabricator plans for someone to end up dead, they end up dead.” Juniper replied, his voice clipped. “You were just barely memorable enough for me to connect your face to the kid she was sticking in one of her death traps. But you know, I could ask you the same thing. Not how you know who I am, that’s obvious, but if you’re here with Agent Phoenix…”

He trailed off, then turned to Phoenix with a look halfway between disbelief and rage. “…Don’t tell me you brought a guy that doesn’t even have the security clearance to know I’m alive to my house.”

Phoenix blinked a couple times, then smiled guiltily. “Ooh. I knew I’d been forgetting something.”

Juniper threw his hands up. “How do you even still have a job?!”

“Relax, JJ! He’s a friend! You can trust him.”

Juniper huffed a sigh. “Ugh, whatever, just— come inside.”

I am so curious about how Peter’s 13 years as a rat affected him, physically and mentally.

I’ve heard it said that if a person spends too much time in their animal form, they can start to physically embody that form, and I know it’s noted that Peter did look rat-like after his transformation.

However, I want to go deeper, like does it affect a persons mind? Does Peter’s body have trouble getting used to being a person again? What would it be like to go from having a rat brain to having a human brain? Did this affect his actions after PoA? I am so so curious about things like this, and I know Peter is pretty hated (with good reason) throughout the HP fandom, but I wish we would spend more time thinking about things like this.

Characters: Scott McCall, Deucalion, Theo Raeken.

Sumary: Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Deucalion receives a very interesting call from an old rival.

Deucalion was far more perceptive than the average person. Obviously. He was a werewolf. Used to be an Alpha to top it all off.

But even for werewolf standards, Deucalion was still one of the best strategists laying around. Not that he would ever answer any other call, if it came at all.

Scott McCall was atypical in every sense of the word.

For one, he refused to kill, which was just as well since that’s what ended up landing him the True Alpha power up that Deucalion was craving to have in his pack, when he still had one.

He also spared him, and many of his opponents for that matter. At the time, he was torn between being grateful and thinking it was incredibly stupid. The newly ascended Alpha and Derek had allowed that darach witch to escape when they decided to spare him, after all, and it took almost a month for him to actually come to terms with that turn of events.

So, Deucalion will admit to being surprised to receive a call at all.

“I need your help,” the True Alpha’s words sounded like a chain around his neck. His life was indebted to him, who knew he’d known how to pull at the chain all along.

“You never cared for my advice,” retorted Deucalion, as he prepared himself to turn down the man that allowed him to live. Such debts cannot go without reciprocity.

“It’s not advice I need; I know the type of Alpha that I want to be, and it’s not like you,” Scott’s severe words cut deeper than he should ever know, but it was fine. Deucalion would not tell.

“This is a sort of heads up, and I’m also asking for a favor,” Scott continued after a pause without any response coming from the former Alpha; “consider it an act of good grace, for whatever that’s worth: someone’s going to look for you, he’s recently come by some Alpha powers, but he’s not fully a werewolf.”

A pause, likely to let Deucalion adapt to the new information.

Someone not fully a werewolf. While not impossible in theory, Deucalion has never really heard of any possible hybrids of supernaturals, which means this is either something that was very well hidden from him —which was unlikely— or it was a fairly recent occurrence, most likely not a naturally occurring phenomenon.

“They’re called chimeras, and this someone assembled a pack of them; he wants to know how to be more powerful,” continued Scott.

“And this person thinks that he can convince me to help them.”

“I doubt he’ll ask nicely.”

“Let’s assume I believe you, that this person is somehow stronger than me, do you really think I’d go down without a fight?” inquired Deucalion.

“I’m not saying that he’s stronger than you, I’m letting you know he’s very manipulative and resourceful, he’s been helping a group of people known as the Dread Doctors.”

At that mention, Deucalion recalled Talia Hale being quite preoccupied with that particular legend.

“They are believed to have ties with a werewolf known as the Beast of Gevaudan; there are rumors that they want to raise it from the dead. They passed by the town a couple of years ago, but Alan couldn’t find any concrete trace of them,” Talia had explained back then, “I hope we never have to encounter them; the Argents are bound to seek to honor their first ancestor to ever hunt down a werewolf. They present a danger to everyone.”

“I’ve heard a thing or two about them,” was Deucalion’s response.

Scott sighed, and the former Alpha finally realized just how tired it sounded.

“The point is: he’ll go and find you.”

“And what do you suggest I do about it, Scott?”

“Do you still believe that is best held on your own?” Scott asked, suddenly.

“I don’t know if you’ve noticed this Scott, but I haven’t had a pack in quite a while.”

“Well, do you?”

This time, it was Deucalion that sighed.

“You showed me a better way, Scott, I have no intention of having another pack and feed on the temptation of becoming an Alpha again, of that I can assure you.”

“Then, if I asked you to do me a favor, would you be open to it?”

“It depends on the favor, of course,” he lied, attempting to distance himself from the need to repay his life-debt; “what do you have in mind?”

“You need to let Theo Raeken capture you, earn his trust and make his pack lose trust in him.”

Deucalion tutted.

“Well, well, well, color me impressed mister McCall, that is a truly ruthless tactic, you do not seem the type.”

A growl came from the other side of the line.

“I don’t want anyone else getting hurt, but he can’t be the one to reach the Beast first. He’ll kill him, and then we won’t be able to stop him.”

“The Dread Doctors managed to resurrect the Beast?”

Scott’s silence told him that that was the case.

Pity.

“Then I suppose it cannot be helped, something needs to be done and, clearly, I’m your only hope.”

“He needs his pack to disband, if he is left weakened, he won’t be able to kill the Beast himself.”

“How do you suppose I would earn his trust? Surely me walking into an obvious trust will not help things,” Deucalion was embarrassingly eager to know what Scott had in mind.

“Are you still blind?”

“I have my moments, is all I’ll say.”

“Then pretend to be blind.”

That took Deucalion by surprise.

“Why, mister McCall, you and I both know that me receiving my fellow Alpha’s spark cured my blindness.”

“But you lose your Alpha spark, because of me.”

It took Deucalion a second to understand what Scott was implying.

“You think that by pretending I still want revenge against you for that he’ll know to trust me?”

“I mean, that can’t be all, you kinda have to sell it, but I think you being blind again would give you enough deniability for him to let his guard down,” argued the young Alpha.

“A fascinating hypothesis. Anything else I would need to know about this Raeken fellow?”

“For as smart as he is, he wants power more than anything, that’s pretty clear. Promise him power, to feel secure at the top, and I think you’ll win him over,” Scott concluded.

Deucalion chuckled at that.

Well, after all, Scott McCall was clever. Quite ruthless if he was asking the Demon Wolf to help.

This Theo Raeken will never see it coming.
