#my research professor told me to sleep eat bathe and cry with my thesis so that's exactly what i'm doing rn

late night grind 🌙✨👩‍💻

i've put myself in quite the predicament by allowing myself to get sidetracked. but before i go on to admonish myself for yielding to my procrastinations, i want to give myself a pat on the back for at least ticking off some important things from my to-do list:

rise's thursday tasks:

go to the facility and ask for details abt the manuscript revision

revise chapters 1 and 3

ask thesis adviser if she needs to check the manuscript

ask department chair about enrolment

give internship moa to gracie

today was a full day of spending time with my friends, which can explain why i got sidetracked. i finally caught up with two of my friend groups, especially with the peeps i became really close with in freshman year. bc i essentially dipped from social media for two weeks, i was clueless about the recent developments in their lives. both of them suddenly have partners?? we spent a good 3 hours catching up and it took a message from my mom and a missed call from my dad to say, "ok let's go."

as soon as i got back to my dorm (and after a stressful phone call with my parents), i was just left with no energy to do work at all. i haven't even eaten dinner yet and it's already midnight. it was an exhausting day full of commute and walking, it was also humid as fuck, and to top it all off – i was mentally exhausted from my discussions with the facility for my thesis, my thesis adviser, and the department chair. i fused with my mattress and scrolled in tiktok for 4 hours. by the time i stopped, it was already 11pm.

but i can't just let the revisions sit for another night when i'm set to submit these either tomorrow or on monday. so i'm incentivising myself with a rewatch of dead poets' society if i manage to complete at least half of the chap 3 revisions tonight! it'll be easier to pick up tomorrow and then i can send it to my thesis adviser for her review. hopefully when i submit it again to the facility, they bring the happy news that my research request has been approved.
