KING OF PENTACLES

Jumin always knew he wanted C&R to flourish under his leadership. And he knew, at a young age, he would follow in his father's footsteps and bring more success to their business. Even V sees his best friend's potential and skills as a businessman; Jumin Han is a man who strives for perfection, learns from his mistakes and intends to excel in whatever field he's in.

As the raven-haired man reads the reports for the past month, he can't help but smile in satisfaction. The numbers are good, sales are up, C&R is profiting in all their ventures. The CEO takes out his phone and sees a message from Yoosung, whose clinic is C&R's partner. The young vet thanks Jumin for his advice regarding a troublesome program the clinic wanted to implement. The message warms the CEO's heart, the knowledge that he's able to help his friend making him proud of himself.

Jumin glances at the frame on his desk, a photograph of his beloved wife, MC. His wife can ask for anything and she would have it in her hands in an instant. Jumin has enough financial security and the monetary capacity to provide his wife with anything she wanted...but she only asked for him, his time and his presence. Him. She wanted him. 

Once the digits signal that it's 6:00pm, Jumin has already shut down his computer and gathered his belongings. He exits his office, turning off the lights and bids farewell to Assistant Kang. Though he's a man who can purchase anything he desires, there's still something he can't buy: time. And right now, he wants to use his precious time with someone precious to him. After all...

A king mustn't keep his queen waiting.

This project has been a very long road, but I received my copy of the MysMe tarot project zine today, and I’m really happy to see the results of my first completed zine project as graphic designer.

Really excited to share the first of my two illustrations painted for @mysmetarotproject! This is the two of pentacles featuring Vanderwood!

I’m still so proud of this work- I really had fun brainstorming with @reifromrfa (and her written part of the collab is amazing!!) and adding all the tiny details representing Van’s multitasking abilities. ^-^

Divinate | King of Swords

This is my last piece for the @mysmetarotproject​! I really enjoyed working on this project and I had a lot of fun writing these short fics <3  It’s been a crazy year and admittedly, I’ve been on a major writing hiatus simply because I was uninspired to write :/ All my projects were pushed back but with a new year comes a new resolution: to push through and keep pursuing my dreams no matter what! Thank you to everyone who still supports me and to those who stumbled upon my blog, thanks for reading and liking ToT You have no idea how much your support means to me and I do hope 2021 will bring opportunities for everyone to get back on their feet <3 I’m more active on Discord so if you guys want to hang out, send me a DM here and I’ll give you my tag ^^

KING OF SWORDS

How long has it been, Cheritz, since we've been created, trapped in a world of numbers and codes, doomed to live the same fates over and over again?

Seven leans forward in his chair, eyes focused on the screen in front of him, fingers furiously flying over his keyboard. He's so close to finally cracking the code...to finding a way to break through to the real world. So close to finding the truth.

The hacker isn't sure why he's the only one who's aware of what's happening. The only one who's aware what they are --game characters, designed to romance women. It seems silly to even think such a thing but his mind is clear; there is no shred of doubt that he is in fact made up of codes.

But even if his body is generated by a program, his heart is not. It cares for all of the RFA members, it loves his brother...it beats for her. His MC.

All his life, he's been told what to do...there's always an authority figure looming over him, threatening his life and the lives of those around him. 

But no more. Now, the red-headed hacker knows what he wants: freedom. And the only way to get that, was to break out of the game. The hacker already knows where Cheritz' headquarters is located; when he gets to the real world, he'll be able to shut down the game remotely.

A smile dances on his lips as he clicks enter and the codes start to run.

This is the right thing to do. For me, for Saeran, for everyone. I'm the only one who can save us, I'm the only one who remembers everything...I hope you're ready, Cheritz. I'm coming for you.

The actor beams before posting his selfie with the caption: "Last show, thank you for all the love and support!"

Zen chuckles to himself and straightens his costume. He has to admit, even though he looks calm on the outside, deep down, he's bursting with energy. A critic reviewed their show and commented on his performance, saying how the youthful silver-haired actor is "a star who shines bright, his limitless potential is surely something to watch out for!"

He feels like he's on top of the world right now, with stars in his eyes and inspiration running through his veins. To be recognized for something he worked so hard for made him feel so good, as though he's finally on the right path. He knows there's still more roles to play, more techniques and skills he needs to learn to be able to call himself one of the best performers in South Korea. But the idea of the journey ahead only excites Zen more.

There's still a few more minutes before the show opens. The actor finds himself scrolling through his Tripter when something catches his eye.

An audition.

Zen is already grinning, a million ideas running through his head. It's for a musical he's never heard of before called The Jalapeño Topping was Pretty Spicy. Spicy, huh? Maybe he should hit the gym tomorrow...

One of his co-actors calls his attention; 3 minutes to showtime. Zen puts his phone away and looks at himself in the mirror. He's still the same boy who knew that a life of teaching wasn't for him. That the stage is where he wanted to be.

Now...he knows it's where he belongs.

The orchestra starts to play. Zen winks at his reflection before running to the stage and making his entrance.

Saeyoung ducks under the table just as there's a boom! above him. He sees a corkscrew bouncing off his desk, a spring rolling to the ground. Cautiously, he lifts his head and peeks at his desk. The robotic hands he invented and programmed are already extinguishing the flames, sensing the smoke from the headless robotic cat.

"I guess MC is right...I should take out the self-destruct feature of this line." Saeyoung says, chuckling. Once the flames are extinguished, he dismantles the toy and puts it aside, next to the failed prototypes of the EllyBot. But to be honest, the attack features of the EllyBot are for his own amusement.

Taking out the real prototype for the toy, Saeyoung turns on the real EllyBot and takes out the chip, plugging it into his laptop. He runs the codes, checking for bugs before he leans back in his chair and smiles.

Everything is looking up now. With Saeran safely rescued from Mint Eye and the agency off his back, Saeyoung finally managed to establish the toy shop he's always wanted to pursue. Though he has enough money to last for a few years, he couldn't let this financial opportunity pass. Plus, it keeps him on his toes, pushing him to develop his skills further.

Saeyoung beams. It really feels like a new beginning for him...for him and his twin. Gone is Seven and Luciel, Unknown. Now he can be Saeyoung again, together with Saeran and MC. No longer does he need to dirty his hands. Now, he can use his hands for good, to bring joy to the faces of children. 

Reaching for the bag of Honey Buddha Chips, Saeyoung chomps on the delicious sweet and salty chips and continues working on the toys, excited for what the future holds.

Divinate | The Lovers

THE LOVERS

This isn't my room.

Blinking a few times, you let your eyes sweep through the room before recognition dawns and you sigh. You're in your room, in your bed, curled up underneath your blanket.

But this hasn't been home for the last few months.

Sitting up, you check the clock on your nightstand. Sure enough, the date already moved back 11 days. It's happening again...the same thing that always happens after the party.

Reset.

A feeling of despair and relief floods your body and you hug your knees. It's been months since Unknown contacted you. Months since you've been stuck in this timeline, the clock always returning to this moment.

The moment when memories are deleted. When you have to put on a brave face and talk to people you love but treat them as strangers again. You find yourself reaching for your phone, touching the screen with your fingers.

You could walk away. Not answering Unknown's text...turning your phone off the whole day. You could continue living your life.

But I will never get to see them again.

Yoosung, Zen, Jaehee, Jumin, Saeyoung, Jihyun, Saeran...Each of them is now in your heart, you love them all and every reset is another chance to save them. You close your eyes and picture their faces and your heart swells with the immense feelings you feel for them.

Is it even possible to love so many people this much?

You wish you never have to choose routes. If you had a choice, you would save all of them. Even though it's selfish, it can't be helped; they are a part of you now.

You smile and put the phone in your pocket, getting up to prepare to meet the RFA all over again.

SEVEN OF CUPS

MC giggles as she logs out of the chat and falls back onto the bed, grinning goofily. The past few days have been so much fun! This new game is thrilling and she felt excited for tomorrow, eager to get the next chat and see what else the game has in store for her. The RFA seem so real, she's proud of Ray for having created such realistic AI's!

MC pulls her blankets around her and turns off the lamp beside her bed. She'll have plenty of opportunities to talk to the RFA tomorrow. Hopefully, she'll get to see Ray too! Her smile falters a little as she realizes that the game might end one of these days. Then she'll have to decide on what she wants to do next. But she pushes those thoughts of her mind. For now, she closes her eyes and allows herself to drift to sleep.

Ray watches the cameras, watching as she falls asleep with a smile on her face. His heart breaks a little at how perfect MC is...but he feels bad for fooling her like this. Her joy is nothing but an illusion and he doesn't know how she'll feel when she finds out he's been using her as a spy to infiltrate the RFA.

Ray closes his eyes. He knows he has choices to make...he knows he feels something for MC, and the thought of her leaving him...

She can't. Hopefully MC will consider making Magenta her home as well...the outside world is cruel and he's scared of what others can do to a flower as precious as her. Touching the screen with his fingers, Ray makes a silent vow to protect her at all costs.
