Lunarchthonicgender or chthonicgender is a gender identity label I recently discovered that I find really intriguing.

Lunarchthonicgender is a gender identity that is strongly influenced by deities, spirits, or a whole archetypical set of concepts relating to underworld, night, vegetation of plants, fertility, relationship between life and death. One may feel their gender alignment influenced by chthonic element, or it may be gender identity on its own.

The term describes especially deities and spirits in Ancient Greek religion, but can be used relating to other gods.

I think this is really intriguing.

Also, as a Pagan/theist myself, I particularly like the wording of this. Sometimes, I find the way that some religigender and mythogender were worded a bit off-putting. I really like how lunarchthonicgender was described as an influence. Personally, my practice, deities/entities/spirits, myth, and folklore have influenced my gender identity, and I like this wording over other wordings because it doesn't imply that gender itself is anything much deeper than a social construct. (like it doesn't imply that the gender itself comes from the divine literally) I identify as witchgender and even wrote a zine about it, but I personally don't care for how the original coiner says it's a magic gender rather than a gender influenced by magic. When I was writing my witchgender zine, I was really struggling to figure out the wording, and this is what I wanted. I'm also stargender, and I personally described that as otherworldly, etc, but that's mostly metaphorical or a way of expressing my otherkinity. (I'm angelkin) Which is another nuanced aspect of xenogenders, I think a lot of them are often written from the perspective of otherkin. Anyhow, I just really like this wording, and it's helped me conceptualize how to describe things I've been trying to describe.

A KEIN/kenochoric and exohuman/alterhuman gender that is best described as having an aura of unconcernedness and a live-and-let-live attitude brought on by being more than human, such as an elf, dragon, god, or other mythological creature.

For day 6 of @little-gender-trinkets’ gender challenge! The prompt was “A term relating to the vibes you enjoy about another person”. I really enjoy the vibes of @kenochoric, and of course, who better to inspire a chill and otherworldly gender?

Etymology: “Solitude” aloneness, “vibe” chill/relax, “-ien” relating to, belonging to.

ID: A flag with three thick stripes and three thin stripes. The thick stripes are black-purple, very dark purple, and black-purple top to bottom. The thin stripes are warm purple, cool purple, and warm purple top to bottom. The thin stripes have gaps between them that shows the dark purple of the stripe beneath them. Hellenismos Religiogender Masterlist

If you don't like xenogenders or religiogenders, good for you, keep scrolling! This is for people who do like them, or would like another way to merge praxis and identity.

This is a list of every genuine, non-bigoted gender I could find based on Hellenismos and its deities.

First, we'll start with some simple definitions! Hellenismos is the religion of Hellenic Polytheism, wherein one worships the Ancient Greek theoi (gods). Cultural genders are genders restricted to members of a specific culture. For example, boi is a cultural gender exclusive to Black transmascs. A religiogender is a gender based on or rooted in one's religion, like the Jewish gender tumtum. Not all religiogenders are xenogenders--for example, it may even be offensive to call tumtum a xenogender. A xenogender is a gender falling outside of what is generally considered to be a gender.

This list will be split into three sections: Modern, Ancient-Inspired, and Ancient. Modern is a term that is fully modern without historical basis, though it may use historic language; Ancient-Inspired is a term directly named after a real Ancient group or individual, but that may bend the concept it's named for; Ancient is a term that has largely retained its ancient meaning (as far as we know.)

Some, but not all, of these terms are exclusive. If a term does not say it's exclusive to a certain group or related to worship, it may be used by non-Hellenic Pagans or anyone who identifies with it! Importantly, you do not need to be trans or nonbinary to use a xenogender! If a term isn't noted as trans/enby/AGAB-specific, you can identify with it.

Enaree - Hellenic and Scythian transfeminine individuals who worship Aphrodite and/or Argimpasa

Eunoukhos - (Eunuch) A castrated male or AMAB transgender person

Gallus - A castrated male or AMAB trans priest(ess) of Cybele/Agdistis, in modern times may be transsex, an andrognyous man, an intersex person, or an AMAB trans person

Hermaphr*dite - A person possessing both male and female characteristics--due to its modern context as a slur, only intersex people may use this identity
