A Forgotten Bond

Wanderer x Fem!Y/N. fluff, a sprinkle of angst, reunion, will have three parts, proper capitalization this time
decided to feed y’all bcs i don’t want to be gone this long
words: 1,215
sypnosis (this’ll be kind of long): Wanderer, after getting his memories from the past back after erasing himself from Irminsul, avoids you at all cost. why? because back when he was a harbinger, you were a close friend, or maybe more, and you endured all his breakdowns, harsh treatment, venomous words, all while not abandoning him. after getting the electro gnosis and running away from the Fatui to become an archon with dottore’s help, he abandoned you without a word, only muttering about Sumeru. therefore, he thinks that you don’t deserve meeting him again. but Nahida, our dear archon, has other plans in where she’ll push him to meet you again at any chance she gets. due to the Irminsul erasure, memories of him are gone from you completely, meaning this leads to a fresh start.
——————————————————————————————————
Wanderer stood alone, his back pressed against the stone wall of the quiet Sumeru courtyard, watching as the gentle breeze stirred the leaves of the trees above. It had been days since the event that brought him back to his true self, the moment when his memories returned like a flood—memories of his past, his anger, his pain, his love, and his loss. Most of all, he remembered her.
You.
He closed his eyes, gripping his hand into a fist, the memory of your face—the kindness in your eyes, the way you always put up with his cruel words, and yet never once abandoned him. How you stood by him, even when he treated you like a pile of mud, how you loved him when he believed he wasn’t worthy of love.
But that was before. That was before he made a choice to sever the last strings of his humanity, to take the Electro Gnosis, to run from the Fatui and his past, and to rise above it all. He had chosen power over everything else, and in doing so, he had abandoned you—left you behind with nothing but the echoes of his betrayal.
Now, after losing all that, after everything that had come back to him, he was ashamed. Ashamed to face the one person who had always been there, the one person who had stood by his side when no one else would.
He didn’t deserve you.
But fate, also known as Nahida’s meddling, it seemed, had a different plan.
“Hey, Wanderer!” Nahida’s voice broke his thoughts, light and insistent as always.
His eyes snapped open, his heart racing at the sound of her voice. She had found him again.
“You’ve been avoiding her,” Nahida started, her tone casual, but the glint in her eyes told him she knew more than she let on. “You know you can’t keep running forever.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Wanderer said sharply, turning to face her. He tried to mask the pain in his voice, but Nahida saw right through him. She always did. Even without reading his mind. She’s not the Goddess of Wisdom for nothing.
“You think I don’t understand?” Nahida crossed her arms, her expression softening. “You think you can just forget everything, including her? You think it’s easy to erase something like that? You can’t outrun your past, Wanderer. Especially not when it comes to her.”
“I’ve already made my choices,” he muttered, his voice heavy. “I don’t deserve to see her again, not after everything I did. After all the hurt I caused her…”
Nahida’s eyes softened. “[y/n] doesn’t remember. She doesn’t remember you as Scaramouche or Kunikuzushi, thanks to Irminsul’s erasure. But she’s still forgiving, Wanderer. And you’re still deserving. You deserve a chance to start over. Maybe this time, you can do it right.”
His chest tightened at the mention of your name, a part of him angry, a part of him scared. “I don’t deserve her forgiveness. Not after what I did. She deserves better than me.”
“You don’t get to decide that,” Nahida said, her voice sharp, the authority of an Archon present in her words. “She’ll find her own path, but you have to face her. At least give her the chance to make her own decision. Otherwise, you’ll never know what could’ve been.”
Before he could protest, Nahida was already gone, vanishing into the wind with her usual quiet grace. Wanderer stood there, alone again, his thoughts swirling like a storm.
He had been running from his own past for so long. But now, there was no escaping it.
——————————————————————————————————
It didn’t take long before Wanderer found himself near the bustling market square, his heart pounding in his chest. The sound of the crowd, the merchants haggling, the smell of sweet pastries filled the air, but his mind was elsewhere. Somewhere in that crowd, you were waiting, oblivious to the person he once was, to the pain he had caused you.
He could see you now, standing near a stall, bargaining with a merchant. Your laughter after you won the bargain, light and carefree, rang out across the square. You looked the same — your smile, the way you held yourself, the joy in your eyes.
But you didn’t know him. Not as he was. Not as Scaramouche, or the one who had left you broken and abandoned. You knew nothing of the boy he had been, the man he had become, and the pain he carried.
He wanted to turn around, to leave before you could see him. But something inside him — the part of him that remembered the warmth of your touch, the softness of your voice, the way you have always believed in him — held him in place.
Wanderer took a deep breath and stepped forward, his heart heavy, his mind racing.
You turned at the sound of footsteps, your eyes landing on the stranger who had appeared before you. A man, with, honestly some striking features, his indigo hair in a jellyfish cut and a giant kasa hat on his head. There was something… familiar about him. The way his eyes held a weight, like he was carrying the world on his shoulders, and the way he stood, almost as if waiting for something.
For a moment, you two simply stared at each other, the air between thick with unspoken words.
“Do I know you?” you asked, your voice indifferent, feeling confused at the stranger staring at you.
Wanderer swallowed, his throat dry. “I… I don’t think so,” he replied, his voice low, almost too quiet.
For a moment, there was an awkward silence. You didn’t know why, but you felt… drawn? to this man, like there was something you were supposed to remember. But it was fleeting, slipping away before you could grasp it.
He took a step back, as if realizing something, his gaze dropping to the ground. “I’m sorry,” he said, his words heavy with regret. “I didn’t mean to intrude.”
Before you could say anything else, he turned to leave, his back already retreating into the crowd.
But something inside you stirred—an impulse you couldn’t explain. Without thinking, you called out to him, “Wait!”
Wanderer stopped, his body tense, as if caught between two worlds.
“Do you…” you hesitated, the question lingering in the air, your hand fidgeting as a sign of nervousness. “Do you need help with something?”
Wanderer turned slowly, his eyes meeting hers again. The briefest flicker of recognition passed between the two, but it was gone as quickly as it came. He opened his mouth to say something but closed it again, the words unspoken.
“I… I think I’ve made a mistake,” he whispered. “Goodbye.”
With that, he vanished into the crowd, leaving you standing there, your heart racing, a strange sense of loss tugging at you.
——————————————————————————————————
Wanderer didn’t know what he was running from. But as he disappeared into the streets of Sumeru, away from you and the fleeting chance to right the wrongs of the past, he realized something: no matter how much he tried to forget, he could never escape the truth.
He didn’t deserve you, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t try.
And maybe, just maybe, he could find a way to make it right.

Furina blinked as the smell of fragrant flowers and freshly cut grass tickled her nose, opening her eyes to find that she was lying in the middle of a lush green glade.
Moving to cover her naked body, she found that she was already dressed in a simple gown, with Neuvillette and her bed nowhere to be seen. Opening her mouth, she tried to call out for him only to find that her voice didn't obey her, no matter how feverishly she cried out.
I'm dreaming, Furina realized.
"Yes, you are." Furina's head snapped around as a small, childish voice called to her from the other side of the glade. A swing hung from the boughs of a tree overlooking a pool and on it swung a girl of five or six, barefooted with her hair pulled into a messy ponytail off to one side.
"I'm sorry for reaching out like this," the girl said, barely looking up as Furina found herself next to her, not sure if she walked or if the dream had just shifted around her. "I would have come in person, but…things in Sumeru are busy."
Busy? Furina thought, flinching slightly as the girl turned to look at her. Something was unnerving about how the child looked at her. Perhaps it was the eyes; too old and too wise to belong to a girl her age.
"When is an Archon ever not busy?" The girl giggled, a strange smile creeping to her lips as Furina realized who she was talking to.
Lesser Lord Kusanali…
"I prefer Nahida…as you prefer Furina," Nahida replied, waving her hand overhead as Dendro energy danced from her fingertips. A second swing lowered itself from the branches, and before Furina realized what was happening, she found herself seated on the larger swing, swaying back and forth in the breeze.
I don't think I've ever been on a swing before…
"You still haven't; this is just a dream, isn't it?" Nahida said, slowing to watch Furina swing. "I wanted to apologize for my people; that miserable little scholar caused some trouble for you, didn't he?"
Zandik…
"Yes…truly a vile person," Nahida said, nose wrinkling the way a child might turn their nose up at a plate of vegetables. "He wasn't with the retinue from the Akademiya, and certainly not acting on my orders to harm you or your people. I understand that may be challenging to believe, which is why I chose to come in person…more or less."
Furina shook her head, trying to think through the thick fog of the dream. How did you know about that?
"Dreams are my purview; usually only in Sumeru, but in your case…I have ways I can reach out to you," Nahida said, looking down in the pool. Furina followed her gaze and nearly fell out of her swing as she found herself dangling above a chasm with a vast desert sprawling below. Sharp shards of abyssal energy rose out of the sands, each capable of skewering Furina should she fall.
"I never met Egeria…but her essence is part of Sumeru now," Nahida said, watching the sands ripple and shift until they turned into a vast sea of crystal blue water. "There is a sympathetic bond between the two of you that I used to meet you…I hope you don't mind."
Does it matter if I mind? Furina thought, feeling naked and exposed with another Archon rooting around her subconscious.
"That's an interesting question," Nahida said, tapping her chin. "Does what we want matter in the grand scheme of things? Or are we just actors playing our specific roles?"
Furina blinked, and she found herself standing on the stage of the Opera, looking up at a glittering blue sword that hung high above her head. Nahida balanced on the pommel, each step causing the blade to twitch and jerk as if dangling from a thin string.
"I suppose it matters to me," Nahida said with a small shrug. "Who we are is defined by what we do, and I don't want to be the kind of goddess who trespasses where she's not wanted…if you mind, I can go."
Furina was about to respond when she caught sight of her reflection in the mirror behind her. In her reflection's hand she could see a sword hanging over a smaller reflection beneath her. Looking up, Furina saw the stranger that looked so much like her raising the sword over her head as if to strike.
"Although it looks like this dream is coming to an end," Nahida said as the string snapped and the edge of the sword streaked down towards Furina's face. "I wonder what it-"
Furina's eyes fluttered open, the girl's words fading as she woke with Neuvillette's breath tickling the back of her neck. As she shifted, she realized he had wound himself around her as she slept, arms possessively gripping her against his bare chest that rose and fell with soft snores that disappeared into her nest of messy curls.
Was that really the Dendro Archon? Furina thought. Or am I hallucinating about creepy cabbage children now?
Frankly, Furina found it very hard to care about meddling Archons when she was so close to Neuvillette that she could almost feel his heart beating. Little miss dream-girl would have to wait until Furina was over the fact that Neuvillette had (repeatedly) made love to her the night before.
So probably another hundred years, Furina thought as she closed her eyes, allowing herself to be cradled in her Sovereign's embrace. The clock read shortly before midnight; plenty of time to just enjoy the way Neuvillette fit against her before she had to rise and become Focalors again. For once, something had gone right and Furina was going to enjoy it, goddamnit. Years of fantasies had proved to be insufficient in the face of the raw, primordial force of Neuvillette's desire; he had crashed into her like a wave, pounding her into a weak, rubbery mess that had no intention of moving from her new favorite sleeping spot until the morning.
Her heart was committed to eight hours of uninterrupted snuggling; her bladder was not so cooperative.

Memories, part two.☔️
Part one ^
Mildly edited, apologies for mistakes.
The Wanderer stood outside of Tighnari’s healing hut, hands squeezing the wooden bannister as he stared down at Gandharva Ville in rage. His mind was consumed with the dread of yet another person leaving him. When he had gotten you to Tighnari, you were barely breathing. His pacing had distracted the healer so he was pushed outside and left there to await news of your fate.
While you lay in the hut, oblivious to your surroundings, you enter a dreamscape. Beautiful opalescent colours cascaded around you, leading your eyes to a tree. You couldn’t believe what you were seeing. It was Irminsul. As you approached, you noticed a small figure at the base of the tree and recognised her immediately.
“Nahida!” You called out. “How am I here? I don’t understand.” You questioned and The god simply smiled.
“I heard you figured out that you once knew the Wanderer. I’m sure you are very confused. I brought your spirit here to answer some of the questions you must have.” She motioned for you to ask away.
“He used Irminsul to make the world forget him didn’t he?” You started up at the shining tree as you asked.
“Yes. He tried to prove himself by becoming a God with my gnosis and when that failed, he decided the world was better off without him ever having walked it.” She explained though you got the sense she wasn’t finished.
“He too forgot himself and became someone different. He lived a simple life of wandering. That’s how he found his new name.” She continued with a giggle at he end.
“But he seems to remember everything now. Could I?” You pondered. You had always hated not knowing things and the fact that there was some of your own life you couldn’t remember seriously irked you.
“You could. But it might be tough on your mind and your physical body is in a weakened state. Are you sure you want to take such a risk?” The God diligently double checked your consent.
“Im absolutely certain.” You nodded your head, resolve clear.
“Then let’s begin.”
Your dreamscape warped and changed until you arrived the crowded tavern in Sumeru city. You watched yourself in third person view, rushing down the thin path towards the bar to order some food, only to trip over a chair leg. You saw yourself about to hit the floor and, just like on your journey to Gandharva Ville you were caught by the Wanderer. Only he looked different, angrier and darker.
“Silly mortal, watch where you’re walking.” He grumbled as he stood you upright. You stared with wide eyes as your past self walked next to him towards the bar before speaking.
“Why don’t you watch where you’re sliding your chair out, huh?” You pointed at his chest accusingly, before quickly dropping your hand. “But thanks for catching me.” You watched yourself look away, not expecting him to answer. As you watched him laugh loudly at your retort and proceed to mockingly call you cute, things started to come back to you. This was when you first met him. Scaramouche.
The scene changed again, this time the warping was even more intense. Your senses returned to the view of Scaramouche holding you close in bed.
“You don’t have to work with him. He’s bad news, I know it.” Past you begged the man and turned to face him. You watched him push you away before raising his voice slightly.
“Yes I d -“ Warping interrupted his reasoning, but you knew what he was going to say. He had said it many times. “I have to do this. It is the only way to show them all! They have to see that THEY are nothing.”
The new scene felt volatile and unstable, warping remaining at the corner of your vision once the moment began.
“PLEASE. Don’t do this.” You saw yourself crying and pleading with Scaramouche, trying to stop him walking out the door.
“Get out of the way. I have to-“ He battled with himself not to push you when you interrupted him.
“NO! I won’t let you kill Lesser Lord Kusanali!” Instead, your past self pushed him. The warping in your peripheral vision intensified as you began remembering what came next. This was when you broke up with him. You told him if he goes ahead with his plan then you wouldn’t be able to look at him again. A voice broke through the warping and your deep thought.
“Things are getting unstable. Im going to pull you out.” It was Nahida. She was probably right. Your head was starting to ache, which doubted should happen when you aren’t connected to your physical self.
You were suddenly back at Irminsul with Nahida. Your vision still shook and you felt the overwhelming need to lie down. You took a step to sit on the path but fell instantly. Your eyes rolled back as Nahida moved your head to her lap.
“You have exhausted your spirit. Try and return to your physical body or you may be lost forever.” She whispered.
The Wanderer was still rooted to his spot outside the healing hut when Tighnari finally exited.
“I have done all I can. It is up to her to wake up now.” The healer looked tired as he spoke. “Go in. Speak to her, something tells me your voice will help guide her back.” With that, Tighnari walked away leaving a ranger outside ready to call him if something happened. The Wanderer’s breath hitched when he saw you, pale and weak. You looked so frail in that bed. Sobs escaped his mouth as he took your hand in his. All his regrets came crushing down on him. Maybe now you were asleep, he could say all the things he would tell you if you hadn’t forgotten him.
“You were right. Dottore was scum. I should never have gotten involved with him. I should never have tried to murder the Dendro Archon.” He spat in disappointment. “I was a fool. A fool to throw away the one person I didn’t need to prove myself to.” He held your intertwined hands to his mouth and gently kissed yours. “You need to come back. You won’t remember me but, I will dedicate the rest of my life to being better this time around.” His tears ran in between your hands, still held to his face.
“Somehow, I don’t doubt that.” You croaked, causing him to jump and drop your conjoined hands to the bed.
“You’re awake!” He laughed in joy. “And you heard everything.” He realised. He swallowed in fear, awaiting your rage full response. You felt weaker than ever before, but nothing was more important to you than what you needed to say.
“Though a part of me will always be furious at Scaramouche, I believe that the Wanderer is a different man. You carry a wisdom that the old you could never know of.” You smiled and shakily rubbed your thumb along your still joined hands. “I think I will always love you. Whatever iteration of yourself you are.” You admitted. His eyes softened and filled with more tears.
“You remember?” His voice uncharacteristically weak. You nodded in affirmation. His head dropped onto your shoulder, carefully avoiding your wounded area. He breathed the moment in, breathed your love in.
“You remember. You’re okay and you remember.” He had never felt so lucky as he kissed your cheek. He told to you continue your rest in peace, that he would stay with you and hold you until you felt stronger. He too was finally at peace as he brushed your hair with his free hand and watched your breathing settle into a healing sleep. He whispered into your hair.
“I love you too.”
Thank you for reading ✨

Me: has all archons
Also me: uses their children and Kazuha (+Barbara as healer)
Man, listening to Xiao and Scara talking is funny, meanwhile Kazuha and Barbara just chillin'
Idk why I'm sending this, just why not :>
Plus it light be a sagau idea? I'm not sure
Hello btw! How was your day? Has something new/good happened? Stay hydrated and don't forget to rest <3
When you first sent this I had a really bad day. Reading the end part made me smile again, so, thank you! Also, I decided to keep it a bit more general otherwise I was stuck with the teamcomp requests XD

"Not using the Archons"
Venti is one with the wind. Wherever the wind blows, he follows.
From Mondstadt all the way to Inazuma and beyond, he watches the traveler save multiple nations.
He's a bit sad you can't take him with you on these adventures, but then again, he would never chain you down with guilt for not taking him.
But that doesn't mean he can't force his way through the code when you pull a single wish on his banner!
"Even one adventure is enough for me! Now, dear Creator, won't you sing me a song from your world?"
Zhongli is content. Content with watching you from afar, and content with the time he has spent with you in the past.
He has lived a long life and he's happy to see more and more vision users get blessed with your presence, even when he himself isn't included.
He'd probably invite the traveler to Liyue and ask them to do more quests for him instead.
That way he can still greet you once every while.
Has tried to send you osmanthus wine as his birthday offering multiple times but each time it seems to get rejected. Do you really prefer flowers nowadays?
"Everything changes, time spares no one, but you still look as radiant as ever, dear Creator."
Ei has been alone for what seems forever now. She wasn't the original electro Archon, so she understands. But still.
She wishes she could talk to you just once.
You could be the only person who understands her pain, the only person she could talk with about the past, the only person she can be weak around.
But that's not how people are blessed.
Only the strongest of the vision users catch your gaze, and thus she'll have to become stronger until one day she can hear your laughter wash away her sorrows.
"It's taken me everything I had to get here. But I won't have to be alone by your side, dear Creator."
Nahida is a dreamer. She has all the knowledge of the world but she still wants to learn how to 'walk' amongst the people as you do.
Whenever she sees a "blessed one" run by, she smiles.
She wonders how you're doing and hopes she can one day ask you herself.
You're registered in Irminsul, but not in the same way as everyone else. A lot of information is missing and the tree of knowledge really makes you seem like a deity that's out of reach for anyone.
Still, Nahida is a dreamer.
And each night she dreams that she'll be blessed.
"Oh? It's you dear Creator! I've been waiting for you for a while now. Please sit, I know a few good stories about Teyvat."

venti could be dvalin's child, and here's why
spoiler warning for: sumeru's desert world quest lore, nahida's second story quest, and zhongli's second story quest
okay, so. teyvat's sovereigns.
according to spantamad research (mostly lisa's (this is implied but since this is a mondstadt book, i'm willing to take that gamble)), dragons aren't born. when elemental beings spawn from elemental energy, first they become either a slime or a crystalfly then proceed to go from there. in nahida's new quest, we encounter the elemental beings born of apep, all dendro beings that evolved into fungi in order to adapt to the world outside apep's oasis.
this says 2 things:
your size as an elemental being is dependent to the amount of elemental energy you have; and,
if you expend a VAST amount of energy, you will shrink. the true is the same in reverse. if you gain a vast amount of energy, you grow.
this also implies that dragons, like gods like nabu malikata, are able to spawn elemental beings from their elemental energy, no birthing or other processes required. (this does imply a few other things about ei but, that's not part of this. i'll see if i can get my thoughts out for those).
now, per region, we've encountered at least one dragon each. now, "dragon" can be anything from a traditional dragon like dvalin or a more unconventional one like apep (who is canonically implied to be a serpent accdg. to gurabad records). so, azhdaha, for example, made the geovishaps littered across liyue and once had his own territory stretching from around jueyun karst to qingxu pool.
we don't have a specific sovereign for either mondstadt or inazuma. inazuma had a serpent in orobashi (i have a separate theory for him as well. again, we'll see), but there was no specific stated sovereign presiding over inazuma. same could be said about mondstadt.
now, mondstadt is interesting because it does have a dragon in dvalin. dvalin is young. or, seemingly young. his name means "the one slumbering." notably, "sleeping celestials" occurs only twice in genshin's entire lore. one is through venti, who has been noted to sleep to recover from his injuries multiple times (notably after mondstadt was established 1000 years pre-canon). the other is apep.
apep was noted to have slept after her trouble with swallowing amun/deshret. she did this to conserve her energy and recover from the negative effects of forbidden knowledge. but this did not mean that she died, it just meant that she was recuperating.
now, dvalin was named before the cataclysm, so he can't have been named "the one slumbering" because durin couldn't have been there to be "slain," and cause him to go to sleep. so, why was he named "the one slumbering?"
well, simple.
dvalin is the anemo dragon.
not "an" anemo dragon, but the anemo dragon.
if you reach back in mondstadt's point in history, there was a region in mondstadt ruled over by a lord of storms, a lord of the tower. the lord of storms was powerful enough to have kept andrius outside his barrier and had a very, very disjointed understanding of what human love is.
what i'm saying is, the anemo lord who spawned the thousand winds barrier covering old mondstadt, was a sovereign. and that sovereign was dvalin.
now, the thousand winds barrier is also significant, since it is noted that an elemental being like venti was born from that barrier. and he was one of the only wisps of wind involved in the lord of storms' toppling.
"but, isn't the lord of storms decarabian a god?" yeah, so, where's the backlash of his death? what effect did decarabian's death have over old mondstadt? why is there no tatarigami-like manifestation in mondstadt?
"what if venti sealed him beneath old mondstadt?" why would a god of freedom imprison someone?
note that old mondstadt has now become dvalin's nest. why does dvalin go there, of all places in mondstadt, to go to sleep? why not go to venessa's tree in windrise to purify durin's poison from his blood?
apep, once infected with forbidden knowledge, was beset in her anger and hissed and threatened nahida and all the gods of sumeru because she was infected with the forbidden knowledge she'd accumulated for nibelung. but instead of dying, she slept.
ergo, dvalin, once decarabian, had slumbered beneath old mondstadt for 1400 years before hearing venti's songs and leaving his nest. venti, unbeknownst to him, used to be part of him.
the end.
