Melkor for the character impression?

Right when you begin reading the Silmarillion you already know he´s going to move some shit. Which he did... maybe a bit more than I thought.

In a world without conflict, you would never have the need to form alliances and friendships, so I think he was the most obvious choice for an evil Vala, but I also believe he was necessary, and I also think that all his flaws and lust for life made him Eru´s favorite. - but it´s still literally all his fault :/ he was too caught up in the need to have power.

Favorite relationship: Mairon and Nienna, he just matches so well with both of them, in two different ways, and I love that for him :)

Favorite headcanon: That he knew Eru´s plan all along, but as we know, he is the only Vala able to feel fear, and a lot of his actions in the first age were filled with a fear for his own destruction, and a need to avoid it. - I think he knew about as much as Namo, while he did know a lot of Eru´s plan, he knew far from all of it, so he only knew it in broad strokes. also, I like the idea of his cult/worship (depending on who) started way back in Utumno with some of the Avari, although most of his worshippers would become humans starting in the first age and be right up to the fourth age and probably after that as well

I know we all blocked the doctor subplot from our minds. But this man was quiet, caring, and thirsting for years, he's got some pent-up aggression to get out and I volunteer as tribute. Also he's both extremely competent and a sad boi, two qualities I find very attractive. And that spiky hair is begging to be pulled.

Choi Yu Na (Semantic Error)

While the boys were running around being their messy selves, Yu Na was being a calm, competent, bisexual queen. The embodiment of "do I want to do her or be her", but in this case the answer is definitely both. Guh. I legitimately can't sentence when she's on the screen.

Gumpa (Not Me the series)

This show is of course filled with attractive men. But only one of them has built a found family and resistance group in his garage and was the only one who knew White wasn't Black, and look we've already established that competence is a kink of mine.

Namo (Not Me the series)

Ok but also Namo was smart enough to Not Get Involved, and she was artistic, and also gave off a kind of sad boi energy, and goddd her style in this. She wouldn't even need to do anything except let me worship her, I would do all the work.

Controversial but NGL one of the troubles I had with this AU S2 was that Naruse was so attractive I just wanted him to get laid and be happy. He's a competent, beautiful, confident, slightly bratty sad boi who isn't afraid to put you where he wants you; we could have fun.

This woman holds together the whole swim club, casually drinks everyone under the table, and gets her man, all while taking absolutely nothing seriously for most of the show. She can get me first.

Jay (Discipline Z: Vampire)

This was a close call with Ji Han (tall, floppy dark hair, sad boi, competent, we all know the drill by now) but in my heart of hearts honesty, when I think of Jay in her giant boots and her hacking skills I drool a little.

Daisy (Secret Crush on You)

I admit I don't usually prefer the 'innocence ready to be moulded' as a thing, but Daisy walks that confident/lack of confidence line so well that I think once they were comfortable we'd have fun and they could use me for practice all they want. [This is one in particular where I would 100% be down for a threesome. These two would not let you feel like a third wheel!]

Nawin (Laws of Attraction)

This is the man who defies all my rules and in breaking them is extremely hot. He's unhinged. He's massively entitled. He's baby. He's exactly the type to get obsessed after a one night stand. Mini Mac # 64 : Wedding

It's the wedding!

Wukong was overly excited. He was standing at the altar, adorned in his wedding attire. His hanfu was made of red silk and golden thread, it was quite the gorgeous piece of work. Flowing nicely on his figure. His fur was arranged quite neatly in a bun, held together by the golden pin he bought specially for this occasion. He had some jewelry that he liked to jingle everytime he walked, but other than that he chose to remain quite traditional.

He was on Flower Fruit Mountain's shores. His pilgrims brothers, the Bull's family, his monkeys and Guanyin were waiting with him. It was a small wedding. No matter how much he liked to brag, Wukong didn't want to invite a ton of people, especially with his stage fright. The shore was neatly decorated. Adorned with flowers of all sorts only found in Flower Fruit Mountain lush flora, it was quite a colorful affair. Tables with all sorts of food were prepared for the banquet following the wedding.

Finally, Wukong heard the sound of Macaque's procession. A tiny sedan lifted by eager monkeys was approaching. His stalwart generals were with the procession, ensuring that everything was going well. The monkeys were knocking on drums and cymbals. Surprisingly enough, the sound they made was quite harmonious. They must have worked hard to get the melody right. His two pups were at the front of the procession, eagerly leading it forward. It was an adorable sight. Wukong had to restrain himself and not coo in delight.

Finally, Macaque left the sedan. The two pups were taken by their most responsible uncle, Tripitaka (Savage was already climbing him, while Rumble was pawing at his cheek in glee, happy to see his uncle again). Wukong felt himself tear up. His tiny soon-to-be husband was gorgeous! He was dressed in a deep purple hanfu that made his fur shine. He had a silver pin in his fur, one that matched Wukong's own pin, both sun and moon themed.

Once Macaque was in front of Wukong, both monkeys looked at each other with tender eyes before bowing to Heaven and earth. Then, they turned towards their family and bowed once more. Finally, they bowed to each other. Of course Macaque was much tinier than himself, and they had previously wondered if they should elevate a platform for him to stand and be at the same level as Wukong. But Macaque refused. Even if their size was drastically different, it was part of their relationship and Macaque wasn't ashamed of it. Moreover, if Macaque was standing on a platform during the bowing ceremony he would not exactly bow at the same level as Wukong and he didn't want that.

After the bowing ceremony, both Sanzang and Guanyin came forward to offer their blessings.

"May you both walk the path of love and understanding, supporting one another with kindness and compassion. May your hearts be filled with patience and joy, and may your union be a source of peace and strength. May you treat each other with respect, as two individuals coming together in shared purpose,

And may your actions inspire goodness and harmony, radiating out to those around you. Namo Amitabha Buddha.” Said Sanzang as he bwied to them and offered a heartfelt smile. Wukong felt himself tear up, he scrunched his nose to not let them fall down.

“May you both always cherish the joy of being together, seeing in each other the reflection of kindness and love. May your hearts be as one, embracing life’s challenges with courage and celebrating its joys with gratitude. May your home be a sanctuary of peace, and may your relationship grow like a lotus in the water—rooted in the earth, reaching for the light. May you nurture each other’s strengths and forgive each other’s imperfections, walking side by side on the path of wisdom, compassion, and enlightenment. As the Buddha teaches, all things are impermanent;

Therefore, cherish each moment and cultivate love with intention. May your union bring blessings to all beings, and may you share a long, harmonious life, bringing light and joy to this world. Namo Buddhaya.” Blessed Guanyin with a kind smile. Wukong heard his tiny mate sniff, seemingly as touched as him by those wonderful blessings.

Afterward they were each given a cup of wine tied by a red string, they drank from it and sealed their union before Heaven and earth. The following banquet was nice and filled with laughter. The cubs were excited to see their uncles and ran across the table excitedly, they also bothered Red Son quite a lot, dragging him in their shenanigans. Wukong watched them with a smile, they could let loose for today, it was a day for celebrations after all. The golden-furred monkey looked down at his tiny husband and smiled lovingly. He was so beautiful.

“So how does it feel to be the most beautiful monkey in all the realms?” Teasingly asked Wukong. Macaque looked up at him and smirked.

“I don't know, you tell me.” He answered.

Wukong blushed. Ah… He walked into that one on his own.

1 When (how?) they became friends

I would be surprised if you chose this question without thinking about "they both know The Thing", and yes, I imagine this is a big factor making their friendship closer—

OK, an explanation to everyone else who does not follow our conversations: Manwë and Námo both know what happens to Men after they die (more precisely than "they leave Ea") I don't know where it's written, probably in Valaquenta? The other Valar don't know it and it's a Secret. (not necessarily from a reader that has at least a vague knowledge of the author's worldview… but from the other Valar etc)

—But also I assume that the proper Valar are friendly to each other in general, only the closeness of this friendship differs. And they're both introverts (or at least: I see Manwë as more of an introvert and not a fan of being important, and Námo is by necessity not very talkative). Also, Manwë is the most good of the Valar, and Námo is the only one I see as morally fixed (because of his relationship to time & knowledge)—

OK, an explanation to everyone else who does not follow our conversations: we discussed about whether the Valar get "fixed" in being good/bad at some point, or at least some of them, and my opinion is I don't like it generally, but makes sense for Námo.

—so they are the most, how to phrase it… well ok, and Varda too. Funnily, I don't see her spending much time with Námo. I wanted to say "their vibes don't match", but that's not really true. I'm sure they were/will be close outside, but the vibe that connects them both is a bit too much for Ea. No, I don't have anything concrete in mind this time, just… they both are in a way very fundamental.

Anyway Manwë and Námo are the two most good in the abstract sense (as opposed to Ulmo, who does a lot of things and I appreciate him, but I think he is often overrated… Ulmo is kinda like the Martha of the Valar if you get my mental image.)

Another explanation needed… I don't know how to explain it quickly, from the Bible, she's got this personality trait... like multitasking but that's not really it? I suppose someone else can explain it better.

And yes, of course when you spend a lot of time with someone contemplating (behold: I did not see "fanboying"! I'm learning the proper tone!) something you can't share with others, you would get close.

5. A scene of them I wish we had

I generally wish we had a scene of them two talking to each other one-on-one. More scenes with the Valar just having interactions would be nice. I know there are some in Morgoth's Ring but probably not with those two.

I don't have a precise scene in mind, not canon-compliant. I just realized I need to draw them at some point, and it does have a lot of background in my head but… I can't think of any particular scene I wish was in the books. Just: more of them.

the vault's password is Imladris instead of Elysium

the Valar are the Olympians, and most of them match pretty well

Manwe as Zeus, Ulmo as Poseidon, Aule as Hephastus (and since this is UDAD, Daedalus as well)

However, the Mechs are still the Mechs, so while Namo is Hades, Ashes is Namo

(the original Namo might have wanted a break and handed the title and job to Ashes and then left, but that's not relevant to the story)

the Maiar take the roles of demigods and the like

Eonwe is Heracles (herald of Manwe as son of Zeus)

. . . and Mairon is Icarus (who only got a passing mention and wasn't even named in the album, but I wanted to mention it anyway)

the rest of the Suits were more tricky

Daeron is Orpheus, because I wanted a musician in that role, but I have no idea who Eurydice might be

The Oaths of a Paladin (HCs for FFXIV's Paladin Job)

Following the numerous expeditions made by Nanamo Ul Namo and the famed Warrior of Light numerous long-lost artifacts were recovered, most of which were records from after the War of the Sisters in 1178 (6th Astral)

The intention of reclaiming said records was to unearth truths of Ul'dah's bloody and troubled past, which included the hidden collaboration with the Amalj'aan tribes during the Undead War from 1353 to 1355 (6th Astral)

Amongst the recovered records was a journal from the Captain of the paladins at the time, his remains found in amdist the old fortifications built during the war.

Therein noted the philosophies and ideals of the Sultansworn of the 6th Astral Era.

Most known traditions of the Sultansworn, better known as Paladins, have been passed along by word of mouth and from mentor to student. As a result, not many manuscripts were kept, especially as the Sultana's influence declined and Sultansworn numbers dwindled.

Thus this document has been scribed for all present and future Paladins, taking the teachings of my predecessor and ensuring our duty and our creed not fade further into obscurity.~

The Shield

It is said that the best defense is a good offense. However, the sharpest blade alone cannot keep our Sultana safe.

Many paladins were forged in the bloodsands, mastering their bladework and honing their fangs. While they have learnt the essentials to fight, the fundamentals of a Paladin is not to win but instead to remove your opponent's will to fight.

We are symbols first and foremost, of the Sultana's power and the guardians of her people.

The swift Shield Bash to stun before weapons are drawn.

The Iron Will that meets any threats within or without our city.

The Sheltron that blades break against.

To be a Paladin is to be immovable in heart, mind and body.

The Spear

To understand how to fight as a Paladin, one must understand the why of it.

Ul'dah is built upon the Gem of Affluence and Flame of Magic inherited from Belah'dia, ever has our city been reliant upon the magics.

However, as tensions grew heated and war became inevitability, the Paladins of old believed that mastery of the sword and shield would not be enough to safeguard their Sultan. Thus, did they look to the flame, to blend spell and sword, forming the unique style Paladins are now known for.

However this split in focus did not come without its drawbacks, the spells passed down have a clear lack of potency as compared to true spellcasters such as the mages from the Thaurmaturgist Guild.

This deficit in firepower however was not brought on by lack of magical prowess but instead a calculated trade. The Paladins were warriors who had devoted their lives to their martial prowess, thus their mentors believed that should they be forced to adopt a new study it would cost their men dearly; a risk none would take as the war began.

Thus didst they devise a simpler solution, a spell that an amateur could master, a spell by which, in short bursts, a Paladin may match any true spellcaster. Additionally, little aetheric manipulation training meant that each cast drained the Paladin heavily, in return saving on significant time when learning it.

The lack of potency may seem to be a large weakness. However, the Holy Spirit's true value reveals itself in its numerous strengths, simpler incantations allowed for almost instant casting, casting while mobile and casting amidst heavy duress. The speed of casts even matching the swiftest of spellcasters.

This "unoptimised" form of spellcasting seemed to have displeased many mages, even relations between the guilds grew tense. Many viewed this style as an insult, disrespect to the art of spellcraft and dishonorable. However to the Paladins these studies did not come cheaply, many amongst the ranks were ungifted in terms of spellcasting, lacking both the finesse and the wits necessary. Thus they worked their bodies, trading blood, sweat and tears for these sharpened spears.

The Spirit

This philosophy of blending spells with the Paladins martial skill allowed them to excel as all-rounders in any situation that they found themselves, borrowing teachings from white magic, many paladins even became proficient with simple protection and healing spells.

As the wars became distant memories and the Sultansworn became accustomed to peace, many felt too idle. Too used to call of duty, some even disheartened by the growing ranks of the Brass Blades and Immortal Flames. Thus slowly but surely the ranks of the Paladin order dwindled, some retiring, some changing allegiances and some deciding to travel, to chase that allure of purpose.

Truthfully I cannot blame them, though the Sultana relies on us as guardians, it is not hard to see the Moneterists slowly gaining power. To stay and be forced to watch it happen would make any Paladin seethe with venom, maybe it is better to leave, mayhaps there are better places a Paladin may put their skills to use. However I'm a stubborn man, till the day my Sultana no longer needs my loyalty I shall remain. ~

~The essence of a Paladin is nobility, not by birth or by right, but by the blood, sweat and tears one puts into their character and the path they walk. It is not about the Sultan, it is not about the creed. It is about stumbling and falling. And with calloused hands and bruised knees carving your road, that is the truest Nobility.

Not everyone can become a Paladin, but a Paladin can come from anywhere.--
