"Sophie says we should tell Eliot that we like him," Parker tells Hardison as soon as he walks in the door.

Hardison stops like a deer in the headlights. It's not because Parker is hanging underneath the ceiling, he knows her long enough to have gotten used to that, so it has to be what she said.

"I think it's a good idea," Parker adds when Hardison doesn't say anything.

He slowly closes the door. "We can't just - I don't - what if he doesn't like us that way and then it ruins the team, ruins our friendship?"

Parker tilts her head. From her experience, namely whatever not a relationship Sophie and Nate have got going on, those interpersonal things have never ruined the team. Hardison might have a point about the friendship thing, but that seems like an acceptable risk/reward ratio, and she tells him as much.

Hardison sinks heavily onto the couch and leans his head back against the headrest with a groan. Parker disengages the safety hook and drops down onto his lap. Hardison wraps an arm around her, which is nice. Parker knows he'll immediately let go if she starts squirming to get away, which makes it even nicer.

"Flirting with him hasn't really worked," Hardison admits after a while. "He just thinks I'm being nice. Or annoying. Usually annoying."

Parker doesn't think that Hardison being nice and Hardison being annoying is an either/or situation, but before she can say as much, he continues, "damn, I guess Sophie is right. Do we like, talk to him together?"

Parker shrugs. She has no idea what the right approach for this kind of situation is. If it were up to her, she'd just drag Eliot into their room and onto the couch with them right now and skip the discussion part, but she understands that some discussions need to be had.

Nate calls them down for celebratory drinks, so they join him and Sophie and Eliot at the bar. Eliot already sits by Sophie sadly, so Parker and Hardison can't talk to him quite yet.

Then, a courier shows up with gifts for Sophie and Parker. Sophie's are white roses from Nate, which are boring because they don't even have any thorns left on them, but make Sophie hug Nate, so apparently she doesn't think so. Parker gets a carnivorous plant, and a plant that kills something is definitely a cooler gift than roses!

She thanks Hardison, but after a moment where he looks deep in thought, he admits that he didn't get the plant for her.

"What?" Parker frowns at her gift. "Do you think it's some kind of trick then? Is it going to eat us?"

"No, no, I'm sure it just eats bugs or whatever, it's a real gift for you…" Hardison nods in the direction of Eliot, who's going back upstairs.

"Eliot?"

"Yes, he winked at me and Nate, so it's definitely him."

"Huh. He knows me pretty well." Parker frowns. "But he got Sophie something, too. Do you think he wants to date us, and Nate and Sophie? I don't think I'd like that very much."

Hardison snorts. "Yeah, me neither. But I think he was just trying to be nice, helping me and Nate out, because Sophie had been complaining about Nate not being romantic enough."

"Okay." Parker frowns. "We didn't need any help though, I wasn't complaining. Do you think we should go and thank him?" Sophie and Nate are doing the thing where they aren't kissing but they're almost kissing and they're definitely not noticing when everyone else leaves the bar, so it's a good opportunity to talk to Eliot alone.

"Sounds good." Hardison grins. "Let's see whether we can get him to flirt back at us without pretending he's me."

Parker thinks that that sounds like a great idea.

Zero's Fic Binding - Every Marine a Wolfbrother

My first anthology. This is a collection of fics from Dira that I read….back when I was working in New York, so at least 6 years ago. I fell into this fic coming off a mad dash of reading everything under the sun related to A Companion to Wolves, which I found because of a Stony fic.

Built the iconography based off the marine corp logo and a queen wolf. The crown of starts was a stroke of late night inspiration that pays off REAL well. The flat mat black on this book cloth? Fire.

Anyway, I have never watched the show. Literary this was all the knowledge about Generation Kill I ever had before I started reading in this fandom. My inspiration came from the memo pads reporters use - so I wanted that flip notebook flare.

First TOC. This water damaged, gold fleck, hard used notebook idea also carries through the whole bind. We commit to a bit in this house.

The font here for the header, as well as for all of the drop caps and chapter tiles, is based off the Generation Kill show font. I wanted to treat the separate fics as chapters, and I liked the idea of keeping the tag lines for each part of the series here too. Credit pages is…probably a little much, but I also like all the info for all the fics separated.

Chapter headers are flecked with ink. Section brakes are a WIDE verity of hand-drawn lines and slashes.

End papers are a notebook grid paper style - my personal favorite - and portions of the book have grid paper hazed into the background of the pages. And there are wolves in the typeset, sprinkled around. So. Many. Wolves.

Chapter breaks got their own graphics. The colors match the whatever soldier/wolf the chapter is about. Yes, there was a chart. No, I cant remember all the wolves colors now - but Bo is gray and Frost is blue.

Final shot is my very sad first headband. And a great example of what happens if you don't trim your paper edges with the chisel flat and even - you get a visible arch on the foredge. You can see the rough cut of it on the TOC page too. I think this was my first time chisel trimming period, so...not bad.

If your looking for a solid novel's worth of yearning and emotionally constipated men, read this fic series. Even if you dont know anything about the show, this is a good read.

It's Sophie who figures out that they're onto a whole ring of grifter murder wives, which makes sense because Sophie is their grifter so she would know these kinds of things.

Parker is happy because it means that she gets to steal things! Well, only phone copies of all the girls, but it's still more than she had expected when they were after only one wedding scammer.

When she clones the phone of the woman Eliot is cozying up to, his low voice whispering to the woman is almost distracting. Maybe if he was talking about something real instead of the lies Hardison has come up with for his cover, it really would be distracting in a nice way. She'll have to talk to Hardison about that later...

Then, Nate tells her to start a fight, and Parker happily throws herself into this new mission!

Parker frowns. That's not what was happening at all. "Nate said to start a fight, so I started a fight!"

She's not sure Sophie believes her, which is annoying. Nate does though, and promises to use the right words for fights and arguments in the future, because it's not her fault that those are two entirely different things, so that is good, and Parker perks right up again.

After that, she doesn't gets to talk to Sophie about not case related things until the case is over, because Sophie gets roped into playing pretend-seduction with Nate, which is kind of fun to watch but mostly boring. Parker thinks Nate is better at pretend-seducing Sophie than he is at normal-seducing her though, which is kind of funny.

Parker spends the downtime spending time with Eliot and Hardison, which goes as it always does, which is to say Hardison flirts with Parker and Eliot, Parker cuddles them both, and Eliot more or less tries to ignore both of their antics. He doesn't seem uninterested though or at least he doesn't complain about Parker's cuddling, so Parker doesn't know why Eliot won't flirt back with them.

Once the case is over and Parker has mostly forgiven Sophie for thinking that the fight was her fault when it was really Nate's bad phrasing, she goes to talk to her for relationship advice, because Sophie mostly knows love things, even though her own thing with Nate is such a shit show.

"Well, Parker, maybe you should just tell Eliot that you are interested in him?"

That doesn't sound like such a bad idea...
