Don't touch me!

Back in November 21st, 2022, before I made this blog, I was inspired to write my first oneshot to @tmntxthings as a gift. 🥰

I wanted to share this, as I'm a little afraid it might get lost otherwise.

Summary:

After a hard battle, you try to comfort your boyfriend

“I wouldn’t go in there if I were you, Y/n.” Leo warned you, grabbing your arm, stopping you from entering the purple masked turtle’s lab.

You looked back at Leo. Mikey had called you, letting you know they had all returned safely (for the most part) from their latest mission.

But Donnie had been hurt rather seriously. After Leo had patched him up, he had locked himself in his lab, refusing to let anyone in.

“But I have to see him!” you said, your voice trembling with worry.

Leo knew you wouldn’t back down. All the brothers knew how much the two of you were in love. But he also knew what his twin could be like in a vulnerable state.

“Okay…” he said hesitantly, letting go of your arm.

You walked up to the door of Donatello’s lab and knocked. There was no response. You tried again. Nothing…

Luckily, you knew the code to open the door, so you still managed to enter.

It was dark in there. The only lights on, were from the screens of the computer monitors. You could barely make out the figure sitting by the working table, but you knew it was Donnie.

“Donnie?” you called softly.

“Please leave, Y/n…”

You did the opposite, you moved closer.

“Mikey called. I just want to make sure everything’s okay.”

“I want to be left alone.”

You kneeled by his chair, looking up at him. From the faint light of the screens, you could see his right shoulder was completely wrapped in bandages.

“Won’t you at least look at me?”

Slowly, he turned his head, facing you. You couldn’t quite read his face though.

You reached up a hand, wanting to caress his cheek, but swiftly, his hand grabbed your wrist.

“Don’t touch me!”

Your eyes widened, startled. He had never raised his voice at you like this before.

His eyes were cold and his grip on your wrist was tight.

What were you suppose to do in this kind of situation?

He blinked a few times, then let go of you, turning his head away.

“Just leave.” he hissed.

You got up on your feet, rubbing your wrist. You quickly made your way out of the lab.

A few days passed before you returned to the lair to visit the turtles.

When you did, you wanted to act as if nothing had happened. You knew Donnie hadn’t meant to snap at you. He had apologised sincerely, explaining that the mission had been rough on him, that was why he had acted so unreasonable.

You forgave him, but he noticed you started to distance yourself from him.

You didn’t initiate the usual contact with him. You didn’t try and hold his hand or lean your head against his shoulder while watching movies.

One day, while the two of you were hanging out in his lab, he decided to confront you about it.

“Y/n,” he said, putting away his work and walking up to you. You were currently absorbed in a good book.

“Hmm?” you answered, not looking up from your book.

“Y/n, I need to ask you…” he said, placing a hand on one of yours.

This made you jump, dropping the book onto the floor.

The purple clad turtle noticed something fearful in your expression, even though it was just for a second.

You looked up at him, then giggled nervously, “Haha, clumsy me…”

Donnie frowned, now holding your hand with both of his.

“Y/n, tell me what’s wrong. You’ve been acting different lately.”

You looked down at his hands holding yours, not even noticing you were tearing up.

“It… it’s nothing…”

“Y/n, you’re crying. You’re trembling at my touch. Why?”

You looked down at your lap, not being able to stop your tears.

"Don't touch me," you whispered, making Donnie pull away in surprise. This wasn't like you...

"That's what you said," you then explained. Donnie held his breath for a moment. Now he understood.

“You… you scared me.” You then admitted, “back when you were hurt…you grabbed my wrist and told me not to touch you… I-I’ve never seen you like that before…”

Donnie felt his heart drop. He had forgotten exactly how harshly he had reacted when you had reached for him back then. But he had already apologised, right?

“I’m sorry Y/n. I already said I was, didn’t I?”

“I know, I know,” you said, “and I know you didn’t mean to snap at me… but it made me afraid to touch you,”

The turtle sighed, gabbing your hand again and gently pulled you up from your seat. He felt your hand tremble in his. He had grown used to your touch, even if he usually wasn’t the biggest fan of physical contact, most of the time. It hurt to know he had frightened you to distance yourself from him.

“My dear Y/n,” his voice was gentle, “I’ll show you right here, right now, that there’s nothing to be afraid of.”

He pulled you in for a gentle and warm embrace. You stiffened a bit at first. You couldn’t remember Donnie ever initiating a hug, it was usually always you who reached out to him.

You carefully leaned your head against his shoulder, relaxing more now in his arms, feeling his hand rub your back in small circles.

After a little while, he pulled away a little, placing a hand under your chin, looking into your eyes. He wasn't going to let you doubt his love for you again. He lead your lips up to meet his in a soft kiss.

Your fears were swept away completely.

You know what I see?

You wake up one morning, seeing your orange turtle-boyfriend is sketching you. It's so beautiful, and you're not really sure if you're really as beautiful as the sketch makes you out to be...

Waking up, you listened to the sound of a pencil scribbling on paper.

You opened your eyes and turned your head, seeing your turtle-boyfriend sitting with his sketch book on the bedside. You smiled a little at his concentrated look on the paper, while in his orange pjs he always wore at night. He was just too adorable sometimes.

You had slept over at the lair again. Ever since you and Mikey got together, you slept over quite a lot. It was easy and comforting to next to the orange clad hero. He always made you feel warm and safe in his arms… as long as you didn’t watch any scary movies before bedtime, then neither of you would get any sleep at night.

Suddenly the scribbling stopped, and his eyes met yours. He smiled sweetly and your heart already melted for the first time today.

“Mornin’ Beautiful.” His voice was always cheery first thing in the morning.

“Good morning,” You answered, still rubbing some sleep out of your eyes, “what time is it?”

“It’s just about 8:00.” Mikey chuckled.

With a tired groan, you slowly sat up and leaned onto Mikey, placing your head against his shoulder.

“Too early for a Saturday…” you grumbled, which just made your boyfriend laugh. You knew he had probably been awake for about an hour, if not more. He was always an early riser.

You glanced down at the sketchbook on Mikey’s lap to see what he was working.

It was you!

A portrait of you in profile, to be exact. It looked like he had been working on that sketch for a while.

“What do you think?” Mikey grinned excited, handing you the sketch book when he noticed you were looking at it.

You took it in your hands, observing the drawing closer.

Mikey’s talent never ceased to amaze you. He usually drew you in a more cartoonish style, but this was more realistic, not something you saw him do a lot.

The shades, the form of your head, the details in your hair and your eyes, as you stared off into the distance.

It was amazing.

It was beautiful.

Very beautiful…

“Mikey-” you almost sighed, and handed him back his sketchbook, “I… I’m not that beautiful at all…”

You raised your head from his shoulder and glanced the other way.

You were flattered of course, the sketch of you was amazing… but was that really what you looked like to him?

Michelangelo hummed at your comment and looked back at his sketch for a moment, with a hand on his chin.

When you finally looked back at him, his face was suddenly very close to yours with a surprising serious look in his eyes, as if he was studying you.

You felt your cheeks warm a little.

“I don’t agree…” Mikey then said at last and removed his hand from his chin, “You know what I see?”

Before you could even think of an answer, you felt his finger on your lips, gently tracing them.

“I see a pair of perfectly formed lips…” he smiled softly. He removed his finger form your lips and traced his hand now, up your cheek and held the whole side of your face, as he now gazed lovingly into your eyes.

“I see two eyes, filled with wonder…”

Your heart fluttered.

His hand moved to the back of your head and stroked back your hair gently.

“Your hair has a special shine, when the light hits just right…”

You couldn’t help but smile at this point. He was just so sweet…

Mikey now chuckled, “Your smile is like a clear sky… all my worries just seem to drift away like clouds.”

You then felt his hand trace back down the side of your face, down your cheek, down your neck and stopped right by your chest. You blushed even more.

“I can feel the warmth from your heart, as it beats against my palm…” he almost whispered now, as if it was a secret between the two of you.

“It’s as if there’s a whole world hidden inside of you…” his hand moved from your chest to your chin, gently cupping it, “A chaotic, unpredictable, beautiful world… that I get to see glimpses of whenever we’re together.” his lips were inches away from yours now. “It’s a world that I love and adore…”

Finally, he kissed you.

You melted once more.

“You really think all that of me?” you managed to ask now, after Mikey had gently pulled away from the kiss the two of you had just shared.

He giggled and wrapped his arms around you in a warm and gentle hug.

“I do,” he answered, “and I think I managed to catch all that in my sketch,”

He then kissed your nose a little more playful now, and grinned.

“don’t you?”

You looked down at the sketch in the ninja turtle’s hand once more.

You smiled softly.

“Yeah… I guess you did.”

I have been working on this for a few months now.

I was reading a danish poem "Til en Veninde" ("To a Girlfriend" roughly translated) and for some reason, it inspired this. 😅

A couple of months ago, this little fella "followed" me home during a shopping spree.

He's so soft, so it made the most sense to me to name him Donnie (after our favourite soft-shell turtle), though I usually call him Tiny Tello. 🥰

The closer it got to Saturday the more he had to hear about it from his brothers. “Don’t worry Dee, it’s almost here!!” “Do you wanna go over outfits?” “We can even coordinate!” “Poor Don-Tron, wasting away over here~” “I can’t wait to show off my rad skating skills, I’ll be shredding it on the rink.. Get it? Shredding?! Haaaa” “Saturday can’t come fast enough huh?~~” “Leave him alone Leo!” “So you’re sure it’s alright if we tag along?” “Ice skating huh, do ya think you can make me a pair of skates?” “These are awesome Donnie! I am going to share six sentences from my upcoming chapter for Tales of Dani.

Turning to where Hob was, he sees that the mutant cat disappeared. Slash looks at his hands, claws still extended, and realized what happened and what he could’ve done if his teammates hadn’t stopped him. “Come, my friend,” Leatherhead tells him. “They are waiting for us.” Nodding, Slash puts his mace back in his belt, and follows the two to the ShellRaiser. As much as he wanted to stop Hob before something worse could happen, he knew that Rockwell was right.

Summary:

Leo meets Lisa for the first time on a rooftop one evening, hearing her play the flute.

Lisa has just moved in with her childhood neighbour, April O'Neil, to start anew. The music loving, daydreaming girl becomes good friends with mutant turtles through April, especially Leonardo. She learns about the turtles' battles and traumas of their past, as well as struggling to overcome her own, from losing her mother in a car crash. Little by little, secrets of the past begin to stir and open old wounds. But with a little trust, kindness, and music, Leo and Lisa start to realise how they can play the keys to their hearts.

So... I haven't been on in forever.

I was supposed to get married last month, but due to some unfortunate events, it had to be cancled, and I spent the last month or so trying to just manage...

But then I get on here and AO3 and see how many hits You know what I see? had and that just made me so happy. Thank you. 💕🐢

I will definitely get back to writing oneshots and also continue working on TKTMH 💙

I guess I should start making a masterlist or something... 🤔

I'm Navi. <3 I made this sideblog to share my Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fanfiction "The Key to my Heart", which will be posted on AO3. First chapter will be up tomorrow. I will be posting a few doodles I made, relating to the fanfic before then. ^^ I have not posted fanfiction of any kind in years, and never here, or on AO3, so I am a little nervous. I don't really know what I'm doing half the time...
