one time i was 15 and drawing zodiac sign designs and my dad screamed at me for drawing a cancer sign ♋️ because he thought it was a 69, like… parents can really have a way of making their kids feel so unsafe sharing their art with them and then they get confused when their kids close themselves off

NOOO omg not a 69 😭😭 GAAAH yeah definitely though i agree. in my case it was more my mom going “that’s ugly why can’t you draw prettier” because her idea of art is a very traditional definition of like, fine arts portraits and stuff. or laughing at any of the storytelling i had behind my art. but either way it diiid slowly lead to me just not wanting to share my art with her, and then just stopping showing her anything altogether by the time i was in high school. also led to me throwing away a lot of my older art out of shame, which i regret now 😔 im definitely never gonna stop drawing because art is incredibly important to me but i do think there’s always gonna be that divide between me and my family, unfortunately…i do wish kids were encouraged to explore and experiment more with their art. even now, online, it feels like it’s gotten less safe to do that, even though the internet was like, my Haven for that sort of stuff when i was younger. all around people just. need to stop being shitty to kids i think

With Miss Morph’s power being shapeshifting mainly into different animals is she able to have some sort of connection with animals say understanding them?

OKAY so. short answer is yes she can understand animals, but only when she's in that same animal form. long answer is it has to do with how her powers work, WHICH i was also gonna explain in text, but then i figured it'd be more fun to show some notes about it!!

her powers are based in science...well, comic-book-style pseudoscience, but nonetheless there is a biological basis for her powers in-universe. you can technically classify her as a mutant! she does Not like this though so don't call her that in front of her. </3 now, WHY she's a mutant and why her powers work like this is something to be revealed later, but out of all the heroes and villains, her and kuiper have the most scientifically-grounded explanations for their powers. which, HMM....they may bond about...Eventually....di still has a LOT to open up about with regards to her powers first.

there should be an email from nikoco11shop@gmail from a few weeks back, but the tldr was that my entire first order of standees came over saturated and 40% of them broken, and then my second order was exact same issue (didn’t even come with bases second order😭😭😭) i had to refund and reorder a third time to finally get the ones shipping out nowOTL

i thought for a while abt just sending out the over saturated ones that weren’t broken but the drop in quality felt wrong to me :’3

Is there any moments when Jane almost reveals herself as Solarflare to Sammy, when protecting her (say the bullet scene from Superman 1978)

OH MY GOODNESS YES!!! so many times. i love that you specifically mentioned superman 1978, because that's actually my biggest inspiration for their dynamic!!!

sammy's pretty nosy (as reporters are LOL), so she usually winds up in trouble without even meaning to do so as she tries to gather info for her stories. she's always a bit confused as to why jane insists on tagging along...their initial relationship is actually a little rocky, because jane was just sort of dumped onto sammy to look after by her higher ups at work, and she sort of hinders her work sometimes (and sammy values her work VERY much). plus, she can be a bit too trusting of others, which sammy definitely isn't...

actually got inspired to doodle a version of the 1978 bullet scene for this au real quick!! so thank you for giving me the excuse to draw these two together LOL. also had to draw the scene right after that with the purse, because it's also a very sol thing to do. she's had a lot of close calls! but yet, somehow, sammy still has not figured it out....i'd like to think this happened pretty early on in their relationship, when sammy's just starting to come around to jane...

Would the Dream Productions crew be a news crew?

HEHEE this is a good question!! some of the crew areee jane and sammy's coworkers, yes! and some actually work for other competing news journals (the train of thought's top competitor is the mind reader 😏 aka the Actual newspaper we see anger reading in the movies). i'm still in the process of figuring out Every single mind worker's roles, buuut!! jean is a supervisor at the train of thought. and janelle is actually a talk show host! because she deserves it <3 all of them play some sort of role in documenting hero culture, though. and as such, a lot of them have some sort of ties to miss morph.

AS FOR xeni and paula....they got Special Roles i will reveal later 🤭

You know, the more I think about it, Deadheat is a lot like Megatron from the IDW Transformers comics in a lot of ways. both of them used to be noble and good-natured people who wanted to make their worlds a better place alongside their friends. but ended up losing their way due to circumstances out of their control, eventually causing them to turn against their friends and the people they once swore to protect.

OOH interesting comparison!!! i will be honest, i am. not familiar with transformers media really LOL but i can definitely see the comparison from what you've described!! i really do gotta talk about deadheat more, he's very integral to the story...especially because a LOT of the story revolves around what heroism really means. every single character in the cast has their own, totally different view of it. deadheat definitely did want to make the world a better place like you said, but he does also still continue to think this, even within the syndicate! he has for sure lost his way, but a good chunk of his ideals are still intact, interestingly enough...though which ones he might sacrifice, or if he even will, when it comes down to it, is anyone's guess! even his, honestly. man is struggling </3

i Will say that his fallout with miss morph and felix wasn't just on him, though! in wanting to make the world a better place, he had to question whether miss morph and felix are really on his wavelength about heroism, especially morph given her whole celebrity hero brand and persona...the way she views heroism as a business was something deadheat always clashed with her about (very similar to how solarflare clashes with miss morph in the present!). and there are perhaps some other questionable things her and felix may have done while all three of them were heroes...!! he definitely feels let down by their actions. though, obviously, deadheat isn't above making questionable decisions himself...i think he's just much more vocal about it!

3. a summer blockbuster

OOH okay...this was a bit hard, i thought i had a bunch but then i remembered that "blockbuster" refers more to huuuge financial success and not just critical success...i thiiink i'm gonna go with inception, i just really love any piece of media that has to do with dreams, i love how grand the scale of the world is, ALSO elliot page is there <3 standout performance from him in this one.

9. a film from the year you were born

best in show was one of the first that came to mind!! it's part of a larger series of mockumentaries by christopher guest, and while i thought i wasn't really a fan of that genre his mockumentaries proved me DEAD wrong they're so funny oh my god. the cast is so memorable, a lot of the script was improvised but the bits are sooo good. it just feels like a bunch of friends got invited to hang out together and do improv while surrounded by a bunch of dogs. it's one of my all-time favorite feel-good watches, just a very pleasant movie all around :) also there's LESBIANS!!

10. a film where the vibes are immaculate

OH I HAVE SO MANY OF THESE. i'm gonna go with the cook, the thief, his wife & her lover !! the vibe of this is just indescribable to me but i will try. this thing has the sensibilities of a stage play, if that makes sense. the look is so purposefully overdressed and artificial as commentary on 80s conservatism and consumerism, particularly with food and gatekeeping "gourmet" food. food is a symbol of power in this movie and it mixes a LOT with imagery of sex and violence and, euhh. Several bodily fluids . to get the point across but it is done beautifullyyy. it's so hyperstylized. there's some great color symbolism in the set design as well. i think this is one everyone should watch at least once in their lives <3

HIII yes i'd love to talk more about dream prod!! 😁 i'm gonna go ahead and put it all under the cut though, since 1) probably gonna be LONG and 2) i feel like it's too soon to talk about spoilers out in the open dhkjhkjgh. but!! yes anyways

YES god i really loved all of anger's bits in the show. loved how protective he got 🥺 one thing i always found interesting in the first movie was that the long-term workers did not really seem to...care that sadness and joy needed to find a way back to hq? might just be working in long-term that does that to you LMAO!! really fascinating that the guys working in dream productions do defer to the emotions to some extent. in a way emotions themselves are very integral to dreams! and i loved all the little things that showed this, like paula desperately looking for a happy memory to come up with a dream for, or how gigi's nightmares mostly consisted of green and purple orbs (sidenote SIGH i really wish we got to see disgust and fear interact more considering this. especially since even the sleepwalking memory was green and purple, iirc? buuut i digress. NOT just the disear brain talking i promise but maybe also a Little /lh).

also found it very interesting how the machine jean brought in to measure the. "excitement" of the dream is also a bit dependent on emotions i would say? i'm getting real technical here, but i'm wondering how riley could still react to the dream with other emotions who are not on dream duty (and even then, the ones on dream duty aren't using the console...) despite them being asleep...🤔 definitelyyy overthinking this LOLLL but it's very cool to look at the inner workings of dream prod overall! i love that they introduced daydreams in, too...and this sort of worldbuilding of how daydreams are constructed differently compared to dreams at night. really good contrast for the paula xeni rivalry!

SPEAKING of mannn i loved paula and xeni!! WHAT a fun duo. one thing i noticed was that paula's insistence on "fun" dreams and living in the past was an interesting mirror to joy's previous behavior before her character development across both movies...i thiiink this was intentional, and it's fun to see that riley growing up isn't something just the emotions have to adjust to, but everyone else in the mind word as well 🥲 i wasn't expecting to find the paula-xeni dynamic as funny as i did, either. the bit where he steals her boots made me laugh out loud LMAOO. ALSO going to mention mel here too GOD. THE PUPY. I LOVE HERRR...was talking with a friend the other day about how interacting with the personification of a hormone lets you be affected by that hormone...really cool annnd makes sense considering these guys are all brain cells LOL. makes me wonder if hypothetically this could affect emotions too...? hmm!

anywaysss i loved all the callbacks to things from the first movie...i kind of wish there could have been some acknowledgment of how joy and sadness literally broke into dream productions in the first movie since, well. that's a Pretty Significant Thing that happened. BUT it's fine HKJFHG i thought the callback to canadian boyfriend was real fun. i willll say, given both disney and pixar's....not so good reputation with this sorta stuff, i was concerned the romance! episode was gonna be. one of those "See we PROMISE riley isn't gay!!!" sorta things so i'm glad that's not the direction it went in, and that they kept the resolution for that vague. AND i love love that they really played into the romcom element with all the tropes like the love triangle. AND sadness and joy watching it together!!!! MAN. SO CUTE. 🥺 in general i adore how much joy and sadness are just. besties now. they hang out together!! they LIKE hanging out together!! AUGH. ANYWAYS. romance DID end up being my favorite episode of the bunch! joy and sadness appearances obviously. helped with this LMAO but i loooved how it really showcased paula and xeni's strengths as a team. AND I WILL NOT LIE. that sleepwalking scene did kinda stress me out and i am a grown-ass adult. i also always love when real-life phenomena get translated into the mechanics of the mind world. the camera suddenly moving on its own was sooo cool.

i ALSO found it interesting how the characters all seem to have different views of what's best for riley...jean is the antagonist obvs but! interesting that she had a rationale for the dream xeni wrote, kinda "shaming" riley into growing up...even more interesting when you think about how shame was eventually written out of the second movie drafts, AND how anxiety's original character was rewritten a couple of times because it seemed like both of them were "self-sabotaging" riley too much. interesting that jean could somehow fill this role...! i wonder if that concept was carried on into this show.

ALSO. THE LUCID DREAM STUFF!! very cool. i've always been curious about the reality distortion filters. also a cool way to have riley interact with the mind world! i wiiiish we could have seen more of how...the emotions viewed this dream, what they thought of it etc. since their reactions are present for all the other dreams...i'm honestly very curious about Dream Duty in general, especially since it's not mentioned at all in the second movie. i think it would've been cool to kinda explain the details of dream duty in parallel to the dream production process, sorta tie the whole relationship between the emotions and the mind workers at dream prod together a bit more...buuut overall it was fun to see more of dream productions! definitely my favorite place in the mind world out of all the ones we'd seen across both movies. had a fun time overall!! and honestly my favorite thing about worldbuilding in inside out is how many strange hypotheticals it makes you think about LOL. so while i still got criticisms i'm having a fun time with it 😁👍🏾

What GAMES do you play for fun?

OH hi!! good question hmmm. i will be honest it's been a couple years since i've gamed regularly because of school </3 BUT i love simulation games!! probably my favorite genre. so the sims of course goes without saying…i'm familiar with the whole series but personally i've played both 3 and 4 (even though i hate 4 you know how it is with sims 4 LOL) but i have been meaning to check out 2 for the longest time…MAYBE also 1. i also love city skylines!! and uhhh this probably leans more strat than sim but i dabble in civilization now and then. i am. Not the best at it though HDFKJHS but it's still fun. OH also special mention to zoo tycoon 2 i'd play that shit for hours i had allll the expansion packs

outside of simulation games though…huuuge sonic fan. i've got a lot of opinions on all the mainline games LOL but my favorites are the adventure series, especially sa2. to no one's surprise. points to my canon sa2 url <3 AND my favorite of the classics is sonic 3&k (CD is a close second though!!!).

before school really picked up i used to play a loooot of hades, i really wanna get back to that again, pick up the sequel as well….OH and as a kid i played sooo much spore. i come back to it now and then as well ^_^
