Neria wishlist: but also if someday I find a rp partner who wants to ship and all that, a romance between Cullen and my mage Neria AFTER she willingly gives up her magic for love (platonic or former romantic??) which is like... he's still getting over his trauma with mages and he meets the one mage (he supposedly had a crush on, and it was mutual and neither knew) who not only gave up her magic but doesn't regret it, fully in control of her power to the point of being able to letting it go ?

You know what, when I’ll get to write more about my Neria, the elf mage grey warden, I really want to get into the facts that: 1) she’s an elf and as such seen mostly as an inferior race, came straight from an alienage (the Dalish hardly send people in the Circle) so it wasn’t a pretty childhood 2) there is a reason if in the game she doesn’t talk about herself (well, ic, the ooc reason is that it’s a game and you can make your headcanons) but I will totally break out of that in threads and 3) she was in the freaking circle and wanted OUT but knew that the only likely way out would be, like, jumping 4) romance and family is ‘forbidden’ there so while she totally broke the rules and had some fun she didn’t get to form serious bonds therefore is family-starved and love-starved and gets immediately attached to her ‘team’. It’s like ‘the world always didn’t want me to so I’ll do it even more’. Just like I headcanons he was hella attached to Irving and hoped he’d at least try to save her after she got screwed over by Jowan  5) during the game and after she’s basically seeing the world for the first time and experiencing everything that wasn’t available at the tower  6) she did feel close to Jowan and is a sucker for romance hence she wanted to help him even more, so he could run with his girlfriend, so she is VERY hurt and would want to vent some day. Eventually. Doesn’t like being lied to so she’d be torn between wanting to really argue with Alistair and him not telling her who is father is and wanting to let it go because it wasn’t her business, she’s probably just expecting too much because aware she gets attached too easily and anyway she doesn’t want him to end their friendship either.  7) she is very very very aware she’s an elf so initially she’d be waiting for Alistair and then Morrigan to be negative about it.

In addition to a few other little things, Brian is gifting me one Art™ of my choice for our 15th anniversary.

I'm thinking Ria or Neria since those are my characters he likes most (and his feelings are a little hurt I'm getting a tarot of Vrania already with bonus money; she's a Bad Person and he Doesn't Like Her) but I'm not 100%. I also don't have an artist.

But anyway, like... Idk??? I figure a tarot of one of them. Or maybe a character sheet thing? If that, then both Elissa and Vrania get put back in as options.

I guess I have my art wishlist for a reason, but it's so old it'll take a while to see who's still active, who does tarot/chara sheets, that I can afford. (I technically wasn't given a budget; he was originally gonna get me a new laptop but there wasn't one I liked enough that was worth the cost.)

okay but also I need people I follow with DAO companions to hurl them at Neria because I need those feels, considering that I can go offscript because I don't have limited options and it'd be sooo funny and cute to have her interact with them all, between her general need to discover the world outside the Circle, the fact that she's always joking/deflecting/the type who would call people bro or dude if she knew those words BUT also affectionate, and wants to save everyone so badly and is so caring? But also given that she went to the Circle before doing anything else AUS where she recruits Cullen somehow, or he's forced to follow them away, so he has some time to heal and be around mages who aren't possessed including her

just... rewriting the moments when they are getting to know each other or reaction to important things in her companions lives but also write lots of normal slices of lifes just to make the angsty/painful/dangerous moments matter

when it comes to Neria, besides wanting her to interact with all DAO companions and build their entire relationship, I'd be so curious to see her interact with Anders (it's like the meme 'I could fix them' 'I could make them so much worse') because of their shared hate for Circles, but on the other hand Neria also hates generalizing so she's the 'not all templars' person? Because she knows good and evil examples of every group, but also it would be very interesting to see her around Cullen, whom she knew, who apparently had a bit of an interest in her, who had his trauma with magic but now is also not fighting to have them all killed and so on

and obviously she'd argue with anyone who hates mages but also give the benefit of the doubt to people who hate them because they were badly hurt by magic, and decide to at least try to point out someone can be evil and destructive even without magic if they have enough money/power/weapons (so obviously an interaction with Fenris could go south very fast depending on how he takes it, but also she has NO magic anymore?)

BUT she can never interact with Sera, I guess, and with anyone who has an elf problem, because while she can see the reasons for being afraid of a category of people that holds some kind of power, thinking low of an entire race is just infuriating to her, and she gets violent/aggressive and sees no point in discussing what's obvious to her? Nor she can interact with Merril because hello blood mage. But Solas? I have NO IDEA

also I seriously need people to write their DAO companions with Neria not just to get to know them and her and what their relationship they'll have, but because if people agree after the final battle she will not lose but GIVE UP her magic to save him/her, doesn't matter if it's platonically or romantically, and I want to write the inherent !!!!! of being so important to someone that she'd give away a piece of herself, especially if no one has ever given them that much love before?
