Next In Line AU

In this new au of mine, Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle are the adopted daughters of Celestia

Rainbow's parents had passed and she was left alone as a homeless stray kid, while Twilight's parents were neglectful, the only good thing they did was get Twilight to be Celestia's student, and she was raised by her brother till Celestia found her

Celestia had seen herself and her younger banished sister in these 2. She saw the potential, and decided she wanted to guide them on a better path

Twilight represents the night, like Luna, as well as both loved the peaceful quiet and reading

Meanwhile, Rainbow represents the day, like Celestia, and also shares Celestia's excited, dare devil attitude

Both Rainbow and Twilight become alicorns later in the show, and eventually the 2 rule equestria along with their friends

So uh, I thought I'd share about this tgamm au I've working on since... (checks)... around last year's october (O_O')

The au is called "Next In Line"

I've spent this whole time sharing it with a friend, and that has given me the confidence to share... a small part of it 😅 (yes, I am a coward)

Main things I feel like I should talk about:

- The Chairman doesn't feed on misery here, meaning scare quotas are not a thing, tho ghosts still have to deliver monthly reports to him and the Ghost Council about any paranormal troublemakers or anomalies that happen in their town

- I hated how Scratch alived in the finale (STOP BREAKING MY FOUND FAMILY FOR FUCK'S SAKE!!), and so, I decided to kill him 😐🤷🏻‍♂️. Doesn't this nuke one of S2 main plot arcs? Yes it does, but I think the first point made clear this is a big divergence from canon. (Adia is also here, and has some plot relevance)

- One of the main points of this au is that Molly accidentaly split herself in two halves: body and soul. This starts as her having twice as much time as before, but has some unforeseen consequences later on.

- The other mayor point, from which the au gets its name, is that Molly ends up becoming The Chairman's apprentice, and this comes with its own set of challenges.

It's not the robe that gives the powers this time around

olympics coming up…… athlete aus on the mind….. satoru as a swimmer….. unreasonably large wingspan…. huge hands..... thinks “official” competitions and tournaments are boring because he can’t use the goofy purple googly eyes goggles he likes to practice in…… practices at ungodly hours solely because he likes when the pool is empty because that means you’ll dip your feet in at the edge and be there to greet him with a kiss when he’s finished his laps….. they bring up the stats board and it’s just his name ten times before the next fastest person and he could still lap them, and even tho he’ll always put so much pressure on himself to be the best, it’s worth it to have you hold his face and tell him you’re proud of him... he’s gotten so much merch from events and sponsorships and he used to think they just created clutter but that all changes when you start to wear his clothes (esp the ones with his name on it�� he’s not proud to admit that does Something to him)…. always looks up to the stands when he finishes a race and if he knows you’re not there, he looks right at the camera, draws an infinity sign with his fingers, and blows a kiss (which, some commentators routinely call “unsportsmanlike conduct” but he doesn’t care, and always, publicly says he’ll pay the fees if it means blowing a kiss to his girl at home)

Hey idk if you've answered this before but is there a big difference between flying and floating cause peri floats but he can't really fly that well from what I understand, wouldn't he just be able to float over stuff he would normally have to fly over?

Ye! Floating is like standing, while Flying is like walking!

So unfortunately, Peri can't really float over to stuff, because the act of moving requires a flap or two of his wings. Both floating and flying takes energy, but to the average fairy, its so minuscule that they don't even register it as lost energy.

Haunted Car Au part 13

“You done figuring out the sound files yet?” Duke asked while tapping on the hood of the Batmobile.

He was excited to hear a campy “Yes, Sir!” Come out of the open windows of the car.

“Neat, first off, any files that have your name in it?” He was a little disappointed, but still snorted to hear the tragic ‘Noooooo’ from Darth Vader.

“I think Red Robin has some pronoun type files in there, what are yours?” A mix of sir’s, dude's, and bro's were played until Duke had to stop the guy.

“Ok, what about age?” He wasn't expecting to get a straight answer, but when the car played a Scooby-Doo cut of ‘those meddling kids’, he was confused.

“So a kid?” Duke questioned. He got a weird mix of 'Ehhh', 'Kinda', and 'close enough' type files.

“We can worry about that later, any ideas how you got stuck?” A short ‘Nope’ with a pop on the P played.

Talking to the car guy was strange. Getting answers could be easy or turn into 20 questions trying to clarify an answer. So far, Duke knew the person:

is male or male presenting

a meta

has no clue how he possessed the car

has a good understanding of current memes

was possibly in their teens (probably a bit younger than Duke, but older than Daimian)

was a street kid? (When asked where he lived the car played “Why should I worry” from an older Disney movie about homeless animals in New York or something. He had to look it up.)

has a good sense of humor

and is taking their situation in stride.

Duke really had to wonder what their life has been where this is not a vast problem to fix…. And whether or not he should argue his ‘notification tone’ being a choir singing.

He really does not get paid enough for this, but it is better than the other stuff Gotham throws at the Bats.

“Mind if I get you up on the lift and check the engine? Might give us some clues.” After an affirmative from the car guy, Duke got to work.

For the Next in Line AU, how often does Molly switch for her regular ghost form to her apprentice form, and is there an inbetween?

I uh, I was not expecting to get an ask about this AU (O_O') (tho feel free to send 'em if you have any other questions). Mostly because I get the feeling I gave too little information about it when I made that post. (In this situations, I either barf the whole plot, or I compress stuff so much that barely anything makes any sense at all. I tried for the middle ground, but I'm pretty sure I failed 😮‍💨🤷🏻‍♂️)

I'm still shaking a bit 😂

WARNING: I'm about to ramble, so some of the information might be a bit disjointed

Anyway, to answer your question:

On a daily basis after accepting The Chairman's offer (she has lessons to attend to, about stuff like the Ghost World's History and its laws, paranormal threats & imbalance and how to deal with them, etc. The Ruler position is no joke: they have to care for a lot of souls), with her soul going to the Ghost World while her body, which is a lot more self sufficient than in canon, goes to school. And no, there's no in between form.

But the tall fiery ghost you're (probably) thinking about is not Molly's apprentice form

This is Molly's apprentice form:

The most nondescript ghost you could imagine

A white sheet (a special garment simply known as The White Sheet (I'm bad at coming up with names) which both let's everyone know the ghost wearing it is the potential future leader of the Ghost World, and keeps their actual identity a secret, preventing anyone from learning the pupil's identity unless they tell that person themselves (this is mostly to give them the option of having a private life afterlife). It also gives a boost to the apprentice's power, making it reach it's peak faster than it would've done naturally, but by no means increasing the amount of power per say, all while keeping said power from getting out of control by keeping the apprentice from accessing most of it. At least, until they overpower it, losing their pupil form as a consequence, but also gaining their leader form (which still hides their identity). Molly achieves this a lot sooner than what The Chairman anticipated (around a literal century), due to an incident involving a lot of flaming skeletons, a panicking swoopy haired boy, and a bony jerk (but this getting long enough as it is, so I'll talk about that in another occasion), and with it came an unforeseen issue. That being that you can't really fit more than around five souls inside the same living body without said body getting permanent sequels, and anything above ten will cause the body to straight up explode. Molly's soul is currently (as in, at the time they discover the issue) as potent as a hundred average human souls. Because it is her body, it has a built in resistance to her own intensity, but there's a limit to it. This means that Molly goes from having the option of splitting herself whenever she feels like it, to needing to remain separate for at least long enough for her body to recover from the strain that containing her own soul puts it through. Unless she's fine with incinerating herself from the inside out 😐🤷🏻‍♂️ (my train of thought has officially derailed. Wrre the hell was I?)

Ah right: nondescript lookin' ghost, covered with a white sheet, wearing three shackles (that drag them straight to their mentor if they go scare mode while in pupil form. They are training to be leader of the Ghost World, and they should be a role model, so they must have a good reason to do that unless they wanna get in trouble for abusing their (tentative (being a pupil, or even getting a leader form, doesn't guarantee becoming ruler. Lord Doom would know)) position), black, empty sockets with white lights for pupils, and no remarkable facial features.

FINALLY got around to redoing my old underswap napstablook / napstabot / dapperbot design :> i like them a whole lot. napstablook has never seemed very interested in being corporeal so i wanted to push the ghost element really hard, which was a lot of fun actually !

i think their arc would probably center around not trying to be someone they aren't, or maybe learning to make music just for their own enjoyment instead of for an audience and stepping down from the spotlight. they'd probably go back to being a ghost eventually, but they'd shift to using their remaining platform to help boost mettaton up instead!
