I’m of the opinion that besides the Redguards, it’s very difficult to tell which human race in The Elder Scrolls is which just by look alone. Their most distinct visual difference is height and that’s about it, Bretons, Nords and Imperials are all white, with Bretons being the shortest, Nords being the tallest and Imperials being in the middle and slightly tanner then the others, Boring, Boring, Boring. Where’s the visual diversity?
I could never expect this to be changed officially, but my own personal headcanon/CODA of the Imperials has them look Indian. They still keep their Roman/Southern European/Slavic/Southeast Asian influences but the people themselves are Indian in appearance.
Partially I like this cause I think it adds needed visual diversity among the human races of The Elder Scrolls and to a lesser extent I do enjoy the idea having people that look like me in my favorite fantasy setting. I am curious what others think about my headcanon.

Anyways here's everything from Tyrellius' character bio
Forgot to correct the text in some parts (particularly changing "Better Armors" to "Immersive Armors") but eh
One thing I DID forget was that his last name is probably Agrippa but tbh he's ditched anything linking him back to his (totally charred corpse of a) dad

"...And Garid of the men-of-ge once saw such a Madness from afar and maneuvered, after it had abated, to drink together with Pelinal, and he asked what such an affliction felt like, to which Pelinal could only answer, "Like when the dream no longer needs its dreamer."
-- The Song of Pelinal VI
My least played character now: Stella Gaius Amera!
A Nibenese Battlemage who is deeply interested in Imperial History, especially that of the First Era Alessians and Reman I.
With the Second Empire all but collapsed she's moved to High Rock for the time being, namely the port city of Evermore, but travels all over Tamriel in her exploits -- very Indiana Jones style.
She's written scholarly papers trying to advocate for the rights of Minotaurs on many occasions. She also researches discrepancies in various historical sources, like the jungles of Cyrodiil, finding it fascinating to look into.

Been through the harshest moment of my life. It took a lot of struggles to overcome such an experience, and now here I am. At least I can continue with what I've been doing. Cheers.

Yes. Just yes
Some Nibenese Imperial fashion concept ideas, based on the depiction of their culture being the part of cyrodiil more oriented towards intricated ceremonies ,ornate clothing as well as tattoos. pulled inspo from byzantine, classical roman/greek and minoan clothes
Other Cyrodiilic fashion concepts :
Various Colovians

told myself I'd draw all the counts of Oblivion to finally pinpoint Imperial fashion. Think I'm off to a strong start
#The Elder Scrolls#tes#tesblr#Oblivion#tes Oblivion#Narina Carvain#Art#I was thinking for Narina a general Nibenese silhouette with a Nord style cloak for the weather#with Akaviri jewelry she's collected over the years

wip wednesday ! tagged by @lemon-embalmer and @jiubilant, tagging back @everybodyknows-everybodydies @ervona @elavoria @kagrenacs if you so please :)
currently working on sketching out pax's family and their dynamics pre-running-away-and-never-being-seen-again, so here's part of something I wrote to that end
this one was about her getting her first tattoo. was fun to squeeze in a little bit of worldbuilding for the weird criminal-underworld low-niben-melting-pot culture she was raised in, in between exploring how she talks and relates to her five terrible parents
#drawings of the five terrible parents are underway. honestly mostly done I justtt need to do the backgrounds#and then also some rougher full body designs because i want to draw more nibenese clothing#but it won't be typical nibenese clothing bc these people are freaks with a batshit lifestyle. even so#thanks for the tags !#oc tag#pax#oblivion#wip

tbh i wouldnt really consider myself an Imperial Fan (in the same way other people are Dunmer Fans or Altmer Fans), it's just that most of the characters im into happen to almost all be imperials bc the ocs i connect them to (val and amarie) are mainly from imperial cultures

My favorite shit is when you look up 'Dunmer' on the nexus, you'd expect some cool shit like racial overhauls or maybe more true-to-Morrowind architecture redos for Solstheim or the Gray Quarter or maybe just some basic acknowledgement of their deep and intricate lore like a Morag Tong nod or something, and instead you get a bunch of balloon-titted white girl 'Dunmer presets' for giant incel nerds to wack it to.
#I'm so fuckin annoyed#I wanted like MORE houses in Raven Rock other than Redoran#Maybe to NOT have to destroy the house I was once a father of#maybe some cool overhauls or SOMETHING#nope just a bunch of bimbos there for the express purpose of creating the skankiest character known to man#and mer for that matter#and i get those are going to exist#but jesus christ why is that ALL there is?#they aren't even DUNMER#just pasty girls with a “slight” gray tint to their skin who look like babyified nibenese women#btw I know why Redoran is in charge#I get it#I just don't care about them as a house at all

@an-orsimer-and-a-gentlemer is doing us an amazing favour with his Colovian culture headcanons. he's also got some interesting thoughts on the Akaviri/Tsaesci so that would be relevant too.
now if only we could find someone who does the same for the Nibenese...
Man I would love to see an Imperial redesign that really shows off what an interesting mix of cultures went into forming them. Like, ok. The Cyro-nedes seem to be where the italian/latin side came from. Tracks with Ayleidoon sounding vaguely faux latin at times. Ok, can buy that. Then the Nords came and were BIG in founding the Empire in its early years. So from there we get the far more nordic Colovians - with their germanic names and larger, more nordic, appearances. That is fairly represented I think. So so far so good? But there's so many other neat ways of taking it. Like; to start off with actual lore stuff we have how the Nibeneans are described. With their ornate silken robes and bright colours and extensive jewellery that just make me imagine almost ancient indian style clothing but mixed with ancient roman stuff. To say nothing of the extensive tattoos they were talked about as having and just got cut/forgotten about but ah well. But like... ok... here is where I really wish they got funky with the Empire... the Akaviri. Reman's empire had a HUGE population influx of Akaviri people. Most of his ruling council was Akaviri. There were enough Akaviri people that the Empire couldn't even support all of them continuing as soldiers so they founded the fighter's guild to keep up putting the one skill set they (a former invading army) had. But others went on to settle the Rim - become the Rim-Men - had an entire REGION named after them there were so many. But where is the Akaviri influence in modern Imperial stuff? IDK... I just think it would be cool if we got some more Akaviri things sprinkled through day to day empire stuff and appearances. Some ancient japanese haircuts here and there. Some Imperial nobles that trace their lineage back to the Potentate/Reman times and still have monolid eyes or otherwise more Akaviri-Imperial features. I think the Blades armor in Oblivion is actually a really REALLY cool design for this - like, if it had been the standard legionnaire armor instead of just blades. It has so many samurai looking flairs to it but if you look at the actual structure - especially the lorica style chest plate and the shoulders - its really just roman armor done in a japanese style and that is so dang NEAT!!
#and no contrary to my url i have next to no hc's for the akaviri culture#the elder scrolls#cyrodiil#imperials#colovians#nibenese#akaviri

One neat thing about how fans portray Bretons is that they'll occasionally add a slight point to their ears which is great but one thing I see less of that should also be done is Imperials with a slight point to their ears and/or a wide array of skintones considering they're often portrayed as being more open to interracial marriages.
Modern Bretons as a whole are mostly Mannish save for nobles that inbreed maintain elven looks, Imperials on the other hand likely have a much wider pool of genetics to draw from.
#elder scrolls#granted i still hold to the headcanon that nibenese largely have east asian and mesoamerican features#and colovians leaning more toward european features#but like on top of that#pretty sure Oblivion actually did run with this if you look closely at guards in different cities#then there's that blue imperial guard in Anvil added by KotN#possibly has Dunmer in his family tree?

Loving these two new costumes I got. Idrilain with the returning Mercymother's Attire and Rihla with the new Wizard About Town that's finally arrived <3
#eso#elder scrolls online#my OCs#idrilain avani#rihla avani#games#i love using wizard style fashion for Rihla like the Antiquarian Robes costumes and the Nibenese Court Wizard style#Idrilain usually has more casual adventuring type fashion or Dunmer themed fashion like the Ancestral Homage Gown#but she pretty much has something taliored to each zone and I do like putting her in more sexy/cool outfits as well for certain occasions#also i have a lot of thoughts about all of my ESO characters (especially the dunmer and bosmer ones) so don't be afraid to ask about them#might do some new posts with some presentations of all of them it's been so long
