#jojo's bizarre adventure #jjba #steel ball run #sbr #johnny joestar #offerings #tools used:#tux paint #// Yeeeeah buddy TWO offerings today!#I think one of my siblings had a Linux computer growing up and Tux Paint was installed on it because the interface felt familiar #Can't say I've drawn extensively in this program though. Lot of surprisingly decent brushes and features in it though!#It's nice to mess around with a new digital toolbox #I really cannot help myself making starry neon and sparkly ass Johnnys!!!#This was a ice excuse to try out different colors and shading. I'm a big fan of low neon lighting where skin appears pinkish in hue.

my most toxic trait is that i have like 343546 dumb unfinished interactive fiction/renpy projects, bc i love making little conversation trees and planning out reactivity and things, but then i can't manage doing the art/writing/coding all at once, bc i become Unreasonably Perfectionist on all sides and it takes way too long to finish anything ahah...

so, much like the ancient magisters, i am wistfully pining away with hubris, while looking at the unattainable golden city (the concept of an extremely high effort da fan game that would require at least 10 of me to have enough time and energy to work on it effectively)

#;-;#i do recommend everyone try fiddling around with choicescript/twine/renpy #it is very fun just on its own #woe. conversation flowcharts be upon ye.#ui is just terrible though. i hate it so much. every time i looked up a tutorial it did psychological damage to me #there was one really nice and comfy unity plugin called fungus that was SO chill and had a visual interface #but it got abandoned alas...

#i got 4.5 yards of fabric for $2/yd at a stash sale yesterday ☺️#1 yard of what i'm guessing is quilting cotton which i'm planning to use as pocket lining and interfacing for a fleece sweatshirt/pullover #and 3.5 yards of a poly/spandex blend that i think i'll turn into some sort of halter dress scenario #i wouldn't normally go for polyester but it was such a nice dark green with little blue dragonflies all over it and also literally so cheap #so i have to mock up 2 types of halter bodices for that--and i have like 2 other bodices to mock up too--#and it all depends on me finally finishing my princess seam bodice block 😓#i do feel better equipped to correctly modify the bodice block now though #when i took a first stab at it 2 years ago i wasted a lot of fabric not knowing what types of adjustments should be made where

I can't believe I have 100%ed mass effect andromeda multiple times and it just hit me that the jardaan are named that b/c. y'know. jardin. garden. because they're gardeners of life/their whole deal was to create the we are as space gods slash mad scientists sci-fi equivalent of the garden of eden. I may be a bit slow on the uptake in some ways

I won't get it but I want it desperately)#I think there's some really interesting stuff in the contrast between the reapers and the jardaan -- death vs. life #and how they both can be a source of horror. creative sterility vs. creation for the sake of creation but that good ol' frankenstein way #the jardaan COULD create life so they DID create life. what does that mean. what is the morality of that etc.#I'm not big on their visual design but the poor angara really found out god designed them with a USB port huh #(their like not-biotic thing that's basically meant to interface with everything in their little enclosure of a galaxy to be clear)#there's a revelation I'd love to see someone have to grapple with the long-term implications of lol

Today, I joined an instance of Project Aincrad, which has really been gathering steam since the VRC devs implemented Persistence (so player data can finally be saved). I partied up with a couple of anime people, a glassy-eyed big-clawed furry, and a floppy but intrepidly quadrupedal regular cartoon horse. We ran around jumping and batting at wasps and hogs with our blades, and met some other people (with better blades) along the way. I put three skill points into STR and one of my bosom companions (the furry) died, losing his acquired skills and experience, before I had to leave them all behind to go help my mom with something.

#the world is coming along so well… the makers have such a nice touch #literally all I care about is getting to do stupid rpg shit but AS MYSELF (eight limbed centaur gryphon creature)#I have spent hundreds of hours in this character creator (Unity/Blender). I cannot be satisfied with mere sliders again #Using the VR-only interface the world creators implemented is also REALLY FUN like yeehaww #vrchat #also there’s friendly fire in project aincrad so my party definitely sliced each other up by mistake uh. a lot.

Everyday I log into Twitter and see multiple people asking “where’s this screenshot from, what’s this clip from?” And it will be content from 2019-2022!!! What has happened to phannie culture. Finding Dan and Phil and not watching every video posted starting from 2009, Reading forum posts from 2013? Do we not care about lore anymore? Where’d the obsession that comes from finding dnp randomly one day and you’re life never being the same. Like if they actually watched phils content they actually know the answers to the questions!!!!!!

i'm not gonna mock people for not knowing something but yeah in the past couple of years there has seemed to be an uptick in people asking others to find the things for them instead of doing any kind of research

not to be an old™️ but i think it's a generational thing and the product of people who are now in their early 20s not having to learn the same online research skills we did? or maybe it's also because social media changed the way they're used to receiving info (as in it's fed to them directly without looking)

but no i agree back in the day if you joined a new fandom or wanted to learn you did your own digging and looked up forums/videos/used basic deductive reasoning. it'll be interesting to see how fandom landscapes progress
