This approach allowed the researchers to explore three primary questions: the predominant topics discussed by SGD users, their concerns about COVID-19 precautions, and the severity of their symptoms and mental health challenges.
The findings reveal significant differences between the two groups. SGD users were more frequently involved in discussions about "friends and family" (20.5% vs. 13.1%) and "wearing masks" (10.1% vs. 8.3%). They also expressed higher levels of positive sentiment toward vaccines such as Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson. The study found that SGD individuals reported significantly higher frequencies of both physical and mental health symptoms compared to non-SGD users, underscoring their heightened vulnerability during the pandemic.
"Our large-scale social media analysis highlights the concerns and health challenges of SGD users. The topic analysis showed that SGD users were more frequently involved in discussions about 'friends and family' and 'wearing masks' than non-SGD users. SGD users also expressed a higher level of positive sentiment in tweets about vaccines," said Zhiyun Zhang, the lead researcher. "These insights emphasize the importance of targeted public health interventions for SGD communities."
The study demonstrates the potential of using social media data to monitor and understand public health concerns, especially for marginalized communities like SGD individuals. About the Call for Presenters
We're very excited to once again be providing a hybrid event this year. We are taking proposals for: 1. Classes of 60, 90, or 120 minutes, with online or in-person presenters. 2. Preconference classes of 4 hours (240 minutes) or more, again with online or in-person presenters. 3. Evening activities of 60 or 120 minutes, online or in-person. Most classes will be scheduled between 10:00am and 6pm Eastern on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Some online classes may start sooner or later than that, depending on the presenter's preferred time zone.
We are looking in particular for: 1. Beginner-friendly classes that introduce people new to erotic hypnosis. 2. Classes on specific techniques or play types, such as robot play, memory play, seduction (with consent), fear, etc. 3. Classes on integrating hypnosis into BDSM (or the reverse) 4. Usages of NLP and conversational hypnosis, with proper consent practices. 5. Interesting panel discussions on the (insert any sub-group) perspective of the community, hypnosis in general, etc. 6. Fun evening events that haven't been done to death yet! Anything that lets people drop in and out is generally received by our attendees better than things that require them to commit a large block of time. (Although we've had some highly successful D&D events.) We are NOT looking for, and are unlikely to accept: 1. Classes that cross the line into doing or discussing therapy -- this is a RECREATIONAL hypnosis event. 2. Classes that are likely to be triggering for some people. This is very much our judgment call. 3. Classes that are basically demonstrations with existing partners, without clear educational content (example: a bimbo play class that consists of the presenter playing with one or more existing subs and lacking any explanation of what they are doing). Perks: Presenters will be offered compensated registration based on their volume of commitment to the convention. People who have two (or more) classes accepted will have their registration completely compensated; people with one class will have half their registration compensated. Co-Presenters will need to work out amongst themselves how they’d like to handle any compensation they receive.
