Hi, just for the people that don’t know, I’m a gay man that speaks Japanese and I want to clear up some things.

A sexual fetish refers to someone deriving sexual pleasure from a NONSEXUAL thing (not a human!!) - you can’t have a fetish for people, the correct term is objectification when you’re seeing humans solely as a sexual object for your pleasure or treating them purely as a fetish. This distinction is made specifically because while the behavior may be the same, we’re trying to NOT dehumanize people. By using the term fetish to refer to people, you’re inadvertently objectifying humans by doing that, so please don’t.

Yaoi is an outdated term in Japan, referring to a specific type of anime parody doujinshi that was popular through the late 80s and 90s containing characters from mostly straight male-marketed shows  and portraying them as being in a romantic or sexual relationship. The “no point, no climax, no meaning” refers to the fact that these were mostly short drabbles without a coherent plot, bordering on crackfic most of the time (example: male character suddenly lays an egg and also he’s in a relationship with his longtime rival)

In the west, people have tended to use it to refer to either:

All mxm pairings from an east-asian derived canon

or

18+ mxm fiction from Japan

This distinction is not made in Japan. Both of these would be considered Boys’ Love / BL. A fujoshi is someone who is a fan of mxm ships/slash/BL in general, not just yaoi doujinshi. It really does refer to all female fans of mxm ships/slash/BL, not just a specific subset.

While “rotten girl” is technically correct, the translation is somewhat confusing to english speakers because “rotten” as a word in english has multiple meanings that the “fu” character does not have. Instead I tend to translate it as “fermented” or “fermentation”. It’s the same fu that’s in toufu.

The fermentation in this case refers to the idea of ‘changing/ruining/fermenting’ a series produced mainly for a straight-male audience by thinking of the main characters as possibly being in relationships with one another. They ruin/ferment/change a series to be consumed by making it gay.

From what I’ve seen, most fujoshi call themselves dirty or sinners or trash for thinking of sexual things. It’s a jab at misogyny because women are constantly denied their sexual agency - they’re not calling gay relationships themselves trash, as female het shippers will call themselves the same things when thinking of erotic m/f pairings.

If you’re talking about women who objectify gay men, the term you’re looking for is “fag hag”.

Dragon Ball GT: What if... we turn Frieza AND Cell into a couple of complete jokes, along with pretty much every other past villain while we’re propping up our boring new ones!?

Dragon Ball Super: We put Frieza into an intriguing enemy mine situation with the Z Fighters, had him star in some of the most beautifully animated and intense episodes of our show, and had him team up with Goku to beat the current antagonist in one of the most epic action scenes of the entire franchises, and then he gets brought back to life so there’s the possibility for him to come back and be even more awesome in the future!

Dragon Ball GT: We gave Vegeta Super Saiyan 4, only to have him get slapped around a lot and accomplish nothing other than a boring and annoying fusion that did almost nothing but waste time for a whole episode, thus making him getting that form in the first place completely pointless. Man, we’re clever :)

Dragon Ball Super: We had Vegeta unlock his own unique form and defeat a God of Destruction!

Dragon Ball GT: LOOK! We let Android 18 fight someone! I mean, sure, she just shows up conveniently at the last minute after previously being beaten up and forced to watch her husband die, and her contribution is to just shoot a bunch of energy balls at the villain to leave him open for Goku to do all the hard work himself... But still, SHE’S DOING SOMETHING, RIGHT?! EMPOWERMENT!

My chair was delivered Feb 28th, 2016. I had spinal surgery in May 2013.

As there’s no one else at home to help, for the last 18 months Palmer is largely stuck in the house and she only goes out once every three weeks or so, usually for hospital appointments and only if a friend can drive her there and stay to push the chair.

Health care is vital for disabled people to live and prevent injury, but it’s also a basic need for freedom and social participation for disabled people.

Imagine: Goku and Vegeta visit a dog breeder to look at puppies. Goku, being Goku, immediately becomes BFFs with all the puppies as he lies on the ground and lets them climb all over and lick him. It takes Vegeta a minute to realize he’s devolving into a pile of mush and then has to go punch a mountain to reassert his masculinity.

Never forget that multiple Latin American countries made it a mission statement to have large public viewings of the last two episodes of Dragon Ball Super (Some of the showings for episode 130 being reported to have around 2000 people).

Just... look, whatever you all think of Super specifically, you’ve got to admit it’s kind of touching that after all these years, people all over the world still love and get excited over Dragon Ball so much to go to these lengths to celebrate it. The shared joy and enthusiasm for the series across so many different cultures is just a beautiful sight to behold.

I really hope that we’ll be seeing this kind of love and support for future Dragon ball series for years to come.

So I was re-reading chapter 5 of Contamination where Vegeta’s like “ur not urself Kakarot” and now all I can think of is Vegeta handing him a Snickers and saying “better?” When he takes a bite out of it and then Goku’s like “better! :D” and like WE COULD HAVE AVOIDED ALL OF THIS IF WE HAD A F**KING SNICKERS
