So, we're 51 chapters deep into my Conan reread, which is five volumes and about a year of publication. I thought this would be a great spot to pause for a minute.

Assuming that that up-in-the-air case isn't canonical, our current statistics are quite interesting:

A minimum of 34 days have passed over the course of the story.

Over that time, Conan has encountered 13 deaths.

Which works out to approximately one body every three days on average.

(If we include the case I'm uncertain about, those numbers become 65 days, 13 deaths, for an average of one body every five days.)

Out of those 14 cases, a whole five-- that's over a third!-- feature 0 deaths!

Finally, I want to end this year wrap up with some fun facts.

When Detective Conan began its run in January 1994, a lot of things didn't exist that exist now. Digitaalisuus vaikuttaa tulevaisuudessa ja nytten työelämään suuresti, automaatio,optimointi ja mobilisaatio ovat tätä päivää.

Koneet ja softat hävittävät Leonhardin arvioiden mukaan 40-60% toistoon ja algoritmeihin pohjaavista työtehtävistä (Taloussanomien mukaan pahimmassa vaarassa ovat myyjät, yleissihteerit, kirjanpidon ja laskentatoimen asiantuntijat, tilintarkastajat, toimistoavustajat ja pankkitoimihenkilöt). Tämä kyseinen lause on totta, sillä suomessa on hyvät lähtökohdat digitalisaatiion. Suomessa on kansainvälistä osaamista ja arvostusta.

Suomen digitekniikan kehitys on ollut huimaa vuodesta 1960 lähtien ja maamme digitekniikka on yleisesti ottaen koko mailmalla aivan kärki luokkaa.

Kaikki tämä yleisesti ottaen helpottaa ja nopeutta elämäämme. Työelämän   kannalta elämme murros aikaa sillä tulevaisuudessa fyysistä työtä tekevät yhä älykkäämmät robotit ja tekoäly lisääntyy pikku hiljaa myös muissakin tehtävissä esim. asiakaspalvelussa.

Internet ja sovellukset muodotavat uusia ansaitamalleja ja verkossa pystyy työskentelemään mailmanlaajuisesti lähes missä vain ja milloin. Internet luo täysin uuden pohjan palveluille joista tunnetuin on varmasti verkkokaupat.

Nykyään on mahdollista myös jakamistaloudelliseen mallin perustuvat palvelut mistä esimerkkä ja ovat airbnb ja uber. Kyseisillä yrityksillä ei ole lähes mitään omaa, mutta silti yrityksen arvo ja sisällä liikkuva raha mitataan miljoonissa euroissa.

Tietotekniikan läpimurrot

Suomen ehdottomasti suurin tietotekniikkaan liittyvä läpimurto on ollut tele-ala. Suomi nousi tietoliikennetekniikan kärkimaaksi 1990-luvulla mutta miten? tähän on mahdotonta saada vastauta ellei tutkita vähän historiaa.

Suomessa oli viellä 1990-luvun alussa uskomattomat yli 50 teleoperaattoria mikä oli enemmän kuin länsi-euroopan maissa yhteensä. Varsinaista kilpailua ei ollut,mutta pientä kilvoittelua oli havaittavissa.

Suurin kehitystä vaudittava toimenpide oli pohjoismaiden välinen yhteistyö jonka seurauksena syntyi NMT järjestelmä joka siis oli mailman ensimmäinen matkapuhelinjärjestelmä mikä kattoi useita maita. NMT kehittyi eteenpäin jolloin saimme GSM järjestelmän ja siihen liittyen ikonisen nokia 2110 matkapuhelimen. Tämä ennen matkapuhelimet olivat lähinnä isoja möykkyjä.

Suomi oli myös mukana internetin kehityksessä funet verkolla joka kehitettiin 1980-luvulla. Hankkeen alkuperäisenä tarkoituksena oli kehittää Suomen korkeakoululaitoksen tietoliikenneyhteyksiä. Funet-verkon kautta Suomi liittyi kansainväliseen Internetiin vuonna 1988.

Yksikään ratkaisu edellä mainituista ei muuta yksin kuitenkaan maailmaa, mutta ne ja monet muut tulevaisuuden ratkaisut voivat yhdessä kuitenkin muuttaa ihmisten tapaa elää ja sitä kautta luoda paremman ja kehittyneemmän ympäristön.
