could you elaborate on your take that Aradia's oppressive relationship to femininity means she cannot be textually transfem? i find that a bit of an odd take

like, obviously i think people can have whatever headcanons they want, and it's good to understand what is canon, what can be supported by canon, and what is pure fanon. i just don't see how there's any less textual evidence for Aradia as transfem than there is for, say, Vriska. am i missing something?

lemme use that last st8ment as a jumping-off to set the groundwork here. the core reason vriska is transfem is because femininity is something she must constantly perform and strive for to be recognized as a girl, whereas for aradia it is something put upon her by society that brings her only torment and oppression. the expectations for women of their respective castes is far different; for vriska, it is to be vengeful and powerful, but for aradia, it is to be compliant and subservient.

both of them hate conforming to their society's traditional gender roles for completely different reasons — vriska's conscience eats at her constantly for all the bad things she does and the person she really wants to be conflicts with the values of mindfang, the sole object of vriska's gender envy (next to tavros. not that she'd admit it). aradia hates her role in society because it is very deliberately forced upon her — it pushes her down and disarms her of her own agency and forces her to accept that there is nothing she can do without permission from someone or something else.

aradia's gender role in alternian society is very intentionally analogous to that of an asian (particularly japanese) woman: sexualized, exoticized, infantilized (a lot of which by equius), not allowed to speak for herself. this is key to understanding aradia's arc to me. as a maid of time, she is at the service of causality itself, not unlike her ancestor, tidying up myriad loose ends across the sgrub session and small parts of alternia's history such as the creation of doc scratch, across thousands of alternate selves, because if she didn't, the story would not be able to progress. she knows this. the story knows this. no one is happy about this.

her arc culminates in totality when she accepts her own death and dares to face the unknown, self-destructing, ascending to the god tiers and, for the first time in her life, feeling truly alive. freed from the shackles of her role as both parts burgundy-blood and woman, she makes her own choice to save her friends and then leave homestuck forever. not being in homestuck is its own reward, but all characters inherently fear death, because that is what they know and it is an instinct sburb requires. aradia, however, never could have feared death, for she had not been living until this moment. she becomes ultimately at peace with what is feared by all but her.

aradia's choice to leave behind what is known and "safe" in favor of pursuing the chance that she could ever reach a point where she is free to make her own decisions again is one of the most transgender actions in the entire story. aradia's abandonment of gender is synonymous with her rise to freedom.

hey, i just caught up with Watch As I Perform My Own Tracheotomy. can i just say that i LOVE what you've done with the Textboxes embedded into the Images! i find it really interesting because like. a lot of Homestuck-inspired Projects will try to recreate specific Elements of Plot or Setting (like Vast Error or Desynced), and as much as that stuff is really cool, i think WAIPMOT one of the few Examples of a work playing with its own *Medium* in the sort of way Homestuck did. much to think about!

Making this an official Pressure au, Uzi and N are married in this au, but N's memories were affected by the experiments, and Uzi doesn't recognize him until she gets his info folder that has his picture in it pre-experiment

The experiments would be more like reformations and rebuilding pretty much. N's name in this is Nathaniel Nolace (real creative ik) while Uzi's first name remains the same, and her surname being Nolace.

Favourite color: Purple, but also pink and also cyan/light-blue and my favorite out of those kinda rotates (also the combination of red and black, I'm just gonna cheat and call that a color)

Currently reading: Should be reading House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski, but I've been slacking and that's kinda on hiatus for now (mostly cuz like, Armored Core 6 came out and I've been playing that).

Last series: Watching Mobile Suit Gundam (the og from uhhhhh '79 I think) but at a fairly slow pace, and not really watching anything else.

Sweet, savoury, or sour?: I love both sweet and savoury things but if I had to choose I'd definitely pick sweet! I have a major sweet tooth lol (speaking of sweet teeth, on an otherwise completely unrelated note: I recently (TW: Dentists, Surgery) had to get my wisdom teeth pulled and also over the course of the last few months had to get a bunch of fillings so that was fun lol).

Currently working on: I never really work on anything tho I want to kinda get into gamedev and making music and I have been trying to learn a lil here and there. Also hopefully gonna start learning Croatian if I get accepted into some course I enrolled in.

Nouond Veedee, aka radiantIcon, used to be your standard poor lowblood until chumming up with Dremia and Folipa and becoming a celebrity.

This is both Keelyn Keekli and Livien Parish; Keelyn used to be a normal bronzeblood, and her neighbor Livien was, unknown to her, a limeblood in hiding. When Livien died, her ghost went into Keelyn, so now they timeshare a body.

Pontif Enlowe, aka committedOutfitter, is actually a purpleblood, but he doesn't vibe with the whole clown business, so he hides as a bronze to work his true passion - making clothes. He's also a costume supplier for Dremia.

Ardeen Dalday, aka insomniacNarcoleptic, is very good at using her telekinetic powers to float. Problem is, she loses control of them while she sleeps, so she ends up floating away from her recuperacoon and having nightmares, so she doesn't sleep well, so she ends up falling asleep throughout the day, which causes further nightmares...

Morryn Blanza, aka liftingErudite, is an exercise aficionado. They commonly do reps in one hand while typing with the other. They have some temper issues (on the market for a moirail), and are secretly a big fan of anime (Troll Hunter x Hunter in particular)

Folipa Seikil, aka illustriousRose, is a total darling, sweet and gentle. Or that's her image, at least. She's actually a total bitch who loves acting behind other people's back, framing them for stuff, and feeding trolls to her carnivorous plant.

Zaneti Zzeran, aka binomialRatio, is a big fan of math. They love reading about all kinds of math problems and theorems. Problems is, they're... not very good at actually doing math. This causes some friction with Rimini.

Dremia Galdis, aka ruefulPlaywright, is an aspiring actress and playwright. She has a bit of trouble with getting too into it and breaking props. She used to be part of the bitch trio with Veedee and Folipa, but has put that behind her and now dates her matesprit Ardeen.

Auraum Brotos, aka thaumidTheologian, is a follower of an ancient troll religion centered around thaumids, a type of lusus that thaumizoologists believe in but whose existence is disputed by scientists. She also digs up corpses and plays with electricity in her free time.

Skitna Pacidi, aka camaderiousOrgeat, loves pulling pranks, specially when those involve sabotaging equipment with her crowbar, and playing co-op games. She is definitely very cooperative. She's not really one for relationships but has a casual pitch fling with Dremia.

Rimini Squalo, aka underwaterSushika, is an incredibly talented mathemathician, but he'd rather swim around all day and moonlight as a secret "lawyer". He's Veedee's agent and bestie.

Lorret Rizzon, aka orinocoanPythoness, was raised far away from polite troll society, so she doesn't really know about stuff like quadrants or blood colors. She grew up along in the swamp, which gave rise to the myth of "swampy the swamp troll". In a situationship with Folipa.
