How I've Been Traveling the World on Less than $8,000 Per Year (through Relentless Faith, Willingness to Suffer, & Spiritual Surrender)
#inspiration and #encouragement for #dreamers who want to #followyourdestiny but have #fear that you can't #afford it. #Money isn't the #solution: it's #faith, #relentlesssurrender, #willingnesstosuffer, and #totalcommitment to your #destiny.
I admit to this headline beginning as “clickbaity.” But this article is decidedly not a pollyanna spitball on “manifestation” or “good vibes,” nor is it a list of “ways to earn money online” or “how to find a work exchange to have a Kumbaya Instagram Gap Year Experience;” it’s a message that in the face of what appear almost daily to be insurmountable odds, that you don’t need to be rolling in…

Are Jewish people a religion to you or a race, and if the latter how distant does one have to be from that heritage to no longer be Jewish in your eyes
To be frank I think it's neither. E Michael Jones loosely defines the Jews as the body of peoples that systematically reject Christ, the ordering principle of the universe, the Logos. That might sound a bit romantic, but I tend to sympathize with this definition. When Christ was crucified and the Holy Mother was weeping at the foot of the cross, would we call her a Jew in the sense that Jews mean it today? Certainly not, despite the fact that she was clearly "ethnically" Jewish.
Becoming a citizen of Israel requires that you not be a Christian, a fact that many ethnic Jews found out the hard way in the second half of the 20th century. In fact, in the late 80s, Israel announced that even being a Messianic Jew (whatever that means) disqualified you from citizenship. So to the Jews themselves, there's very apparently more to it than a simple ethnic distinction.
As for the Jewish question in the modern day, the simple fact is that all of modernity is Jewish in nature. Our music is Jewish, our entertainment is Jewish, our education is Jewish, our governments are Jewish. We haven't espoused "Christian values" since before the French Revolution. America itself was founded on revolution and rebellion, the stock and trade of the Jew in every nation they've parasitized since Christ walked the earth. To be a Jew in the modern day is to take refuge in Jewish values: liberation, independence, and progressivism, elegant euphemisms for licentiousness, atomization, and chronological snobbery. All of these are fuel for the Jewish Revolutionary Spirit, the natural mental and spiritual state of eternal restlessness and nomadicism of the Jew since their rejection of Christ and order for blood and chaos.

I sent @nomadicism an ask about what they would change about Voltron if given the chance. Since I don't want to do a whole ass rewrite fic for this franchise since I'm more focused on my Twisted Wonderland one, here are some ideas I have for how I would change that series to write it better.
(Disclaimer: I'm not a giant robot fan. Ever since VLD burnt me, I just realized that macha genre isn't for me with some exceptions like Gurren Lagann, and I'm more of a fantasy girlie when it comes to genre fiction, especially when it comes to writing. Take this with a grain of salt.)
I'm writing a show like this now, I would make it an adult animated series like Hazbin Hotel or Blue Eye Samurai.
The series would be fantasy sci fi like Star Wars
The Galra never almost conquered the whole universe yet, just a fraction close to earth
Pidge would non-binary
The characters would be young adults in their early-mid 20s.
I would add in Pollux and leave the colony bs in the Shadow Realm where it belongs.
No shapeshifting Alteans
Plan A would be to have Shiro die in the first fight with Zarkon for Keith to take up the mantle of leader. Plan B would have him live, but live out the Pollux plotline that Ryou lived out in Go Lion.
Keith's arc would be about him becoming a strong leader in his own right.
There will be a point where something blasts Keith, which brings out his Galra traits and that causes tension in the group for awhile.
Hunk would be merged with Pidge as a character to prevent the cast from getting bloated like how it did in the show.
In addition to the previous point, this would mean that Allura would be a paladin earlier and the robot would go out for the count until they find another paladin to form it.
Lotor would be like a mixture of Loki, Zuko, and Lelouch. Someone who cares deeply about those dear to him and has a conscience, but at the same time, he's cunning, christmastic and uses mind games to get what he wants.
Lotor redemption arc
Lotor becomes a paladin near the end of his character arc.
Keith and Lotor have an actual rivalry thanks to them both being half Galra
Keith never meets his mother, and sees the paladins as found family
Allura wouldn't be perfect at everything.
Allura would have a complete mental breakdown once Coran tells her the truth.
None of the group will die in the end. Instead they will sacrifice the lions, which singles that they're no longer needed.
As for romance, I'd make Pidge/Lance, and Allura/Lotor or Allura/Keith endgame depending on where the story goes.

Thank you for the tag @the-lightning-strikes-again! :D
Three ships: Jamil/Kalim, Allura/Lotor, Beidou/Ningguang
First ever ship? Earliest one I can remember is Ponyo's parents
Last song? Anyone Else - pvris [was listening to the radio while typing this so it kept changing lol]
Last film? A Haunting in Venice. Nice mystery, very pretty.
Currently reading: Scum Villain Self Saving System [finishing up volume 3]. I've been enjoying this series. Shen Yuan sure does end up in situations
Currently watching: The Apothecary Diaries. I've been going through my list of anime to watch and the last few haven't really clicked with me so I was a little worried starting this one, but I ended up liking it. Interested to see where the story goes!
Currently consuming: pop-tart
Currently craving: something crunchy

No Nomad
How'd the loud laud of not a lot of nomadicism daunt us, knock us stagnant or unwandering or holed-up supposing a hunker would have us safe? Our lack thereof acts like no nomad is out there, lacquers naturally-occurring rocks into awful layers, into walls, tries to stall and still and hide away any minor nonsqualor to stew any squaloree until the meat just falls off the bone, sends laboriously for them once they're a resource, and not before.

the more the years go by the more i become insanely fed up w the concept that modernity is some sort of evolution. not even from some sort of anthropological decolonial perspective or whatnot not even my own desire and preference for traditional life nah bro just like in the simples terms. for the 99.8% of human history we kept to hunter gathering, nomadicism, and small settlements, and even bigger cities and empires and we didnt fuck up NEARLY as bad as we have in the last few hundred years
this is not to say before the industrial revolution everything was dandy and humans always lived in perfect balance w the rest of nature bc it wasnt and we didnt. we have drastically changed the enviornment in many places where we have been (like native americans w burnings and whatnot drastically changing the american landscape, or domestication of animals changing the landscape in the near east and other places). and since the first migrations out of africa, our efficient hunting was part of what lead to megafauna going extinct (everywhere outside of africa and parts of asia [asian elephants], those things dissappeard after we showed up :( rip giant cool animals in australia)
...... but like..... theres a massive difference between what native americans did in the americas, or domestication of grazing animals in the "old world," human hunting making megafauna go extinct (which weve realized, was unfortunately easy to do with what was not a large amount of hunting bc of how long it takes them to grow), or the noticable changes in the atmosphere seen with asian rice farming, or other things........... and managing to IN A FEW HUNDRED YEARS absolutely decimate massive amounts of forests, cause a fucking global mass extinction, essentially a genocide of biodiversity and billions of non-human souls, disregulating the entire god damn fucking climate, poison everything absolutely Everything including the god damn botton of the fucking ocean with microplastics, chemicals, and radiation, and another million other fucking things
""""evolution"""" """better"" ""progress""" my god damn fucking ass we lived without ruining the planet for HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF YEARS without destroying the planet and we have done so in LESS THAN 500 WITH MODERNITY

Point of order, Arabic calls if the “ديك رومي” (transliterates roughly to “deek roomie,”) which means “Roman Rooster, and I have always loved the idea that a culture that prides itself on its austere roots in desert nomadicism looked at this overgrown monstrosity of a food bird and collectively decided “well, you know which gluttons must have been responsible for *that* thing.”

I’ve been sharing some writing about this experience, and more is coming (subscribe to this blog to stay tuned in to my ongoing writing), but why I’m referencing it here in this post is because I am having to leave where I have been…

tangental thought and ive said this before but i am sick and tired of westerners going on abt how blah blah tradition is all so bad and evil and stupid and you're so stupid for seeing value in tradition blah blah your female ancestors had it so hard blah it all needs to be thrown out the window bc its bad and replaced w something good (yea, cuz that's sure worked in every cultural revolution which has tried to destroy the past)
like maam you think i dont god damn know. ive literally written pages upon pages on the child marriages and bridal kidnappings in my family and plenty of other shit. im the one who grew up with its consequences. i know its good i know its bad. i know my damn tradition and culture and unlike you i actually have one. a tradition and culture which has been repeatedly been eaten at away by fucking capitalism and soviet communism. a traditional culture which is currently dying. a traditional culture much more beautiful and soulful that this forsaken modern western crap which sures got issues, but much importance too. forgive me your majesty for wanting my traditional culture kept alive and thinking id rather it be kept alive and naturally changed for the better than replaced w western shit. forgive me for thinking our traditional ways of rural life and semi-nomadicism and everything else are better than this. sorry that i dont want to liberate myself from my traditions and cultures by abandoning everything all together and adopting yours

Thanks for tagging me @cilil!! ♡
Rules: List ten books that have stayed with you in some way, don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard - they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you.
The Silmarillion - J.R.R. Tolkien
The Lymond Chronicles - Dorothy Dunnett (it's a highly self-integrated series of novels, it still only counts as one! XD)
The Raj Quartet - Paul Scott (same as above; also notable for being the last new-to-me (fiction) book I've read to date)
A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man - James Joyce
Heart of Darkness - Joseph Conrad
Dracula - Bram Stoker
The Prince - Niccolò Machiavelli
Death on the Nile - Agatha Christie (any book of hers tbh, though I'm more of a Poirot than Marple person; favorite childhood bedtime reading ♡ explains a lot about how I view humans as an adult lmao)
A Passage to India - E. M. Forster
Frenchman's Creek - Daphne du Maurier
No pressure tagging: @baked-hylian, @dear-kumari, @nomadicism, @cruelfeline, @ruiniel
#i have to say i read all of these from childhood through the age of 21 and it's like a showcase of both#where my tastes/preferences as an adult come from but also an itemized list of exactly what's wrong with me lmao#withoutwords

Sketch request (no pressure): Allura and Lotor cuddle with Kova in a two person papasan.
This was a request I got when I did that Lotura sketch request day a while back. I didn’t have time then but I figured I’d do it as a warm up tonight… Unfortunately life was hectic and I didn’t get to do anything else… oh well!

Yooooooou bringing back the classics!
it honestly started with that discussion about the Garrison you reblogged a few days ago and I went ‘wait..... the fandom’s already had this conversation’. And then it was ‘ooooooh yeah. That was a while ago wasn’t it? Plenty of people weren’t here for that.’ And there was so many good discussions back in the early seasons. And good art. And good stories. And since things are naturally starting to slow down at this point, I figured ‘eh, why not? Let’s remember the fun part again’. So we’re going to do the fun part for a while. I think we could all use it.

Tag game🎉
Tag your moots and ask them where they got the idea for their tumblr accounts name!
For my name it was a nickname I was giving back in middleschool! One of our teacher had a system where we worked with 'wifi' eachtime we talked in class we lost a bar of the "wifi" (was a weird joke and we never held count on that) All the kids usually joked if they needed 'wifi' , they would borrow mine if they wanted to talk more. (I was incredibly shy in middle school, I only talked to like 3 people at school;^;)
They called me Ms. Wifi because of that. I just thought it would be funny if I put 'miss' instead of 'ms' because of my terrible actual wifi connection I have at home lol.
That's my story! Now moots, only if you guys want to, tell us your story.

I’ve started DOTU and my thoughts so far, two episodes in:
it’s 80s hokey, but if you’ve ever watched robotech then expect that level of hokey, and is otherwise rather nice
this is a five-episode “movie” starter. I know how to handle this, I’ve seen Gargoyles
exactly none of these seven main characters are at all like their VLD versions and I have no clue whatsoever why anyone thought they should follow along these lines
seriously, some of them are like. the opposite if their VLD versions
I, somehow, find Sven vaguely endearing
yes I Know what happens to him
how are parts of that castle still standing with the walls missing to some of those towers
#voltron dotu#nomadicism#idk I'm tagging you bc you're like. the only person I can think of whose seen this
