I think what really gets me about the "haha 'nonbinary' person who presents like the gender they were raised as (implying they're not really trans/nonbinary)" thing is that there is no nonbinary transition like MtF or FtM because there is no generally accepted nonbinary gender with specific traits to transition to. Appearance-wise and/or surgically, someone raised as a girl transitioning to be more masculine & someone raised as a boy transitioning to be more feminine are valid in their own right (and nonbinary ppl have just as much of a right to those transitions as binary ppl), but to insist that nonbinary people should follow general FtM/MtF transitions to be respected is exorsexist (and just generally fucked up in a bodily autonomy way) because we're not FtM/MtF. We're nonbinary.

which adds up to 18 men (12 romanceable), 13 women (9 romanceable), and 2 non-binary companions (1 romanceable). or 13 warriors (7 romanceable), 9 rogues (7 romanceable), and 11 mages (8 romanceable)

it’s crazy how dao came in with “men are the fighting class who wear heavy armour and women are the support class who wear dresses” and at no point in the franchise did they ever come even slightly close to balancing that. as an aside i’m also fascinated by all female rogues and all male mages being romanceable what’s up with that

Late night/ way to early morning rambles as I can’t seem to sleep as of yet.

Just imagining an AU where the player was an engineer of some sort. Where they used different set ups and traps to get past most creatures in this factory peacefully. Mommy was an accident. And catnap was more so to stun and then try and trap him but then the prototype came in so yea.

Because of their extensive knowledge of how the facility works from being the fairly mute handy person around. They knew that whatever Ollie was telling them was wrong during chapter 4. Their signal would be fine unless Ollie is moving, or messing with the antennae on top of the little phone thing. And the override wasn’t necessary to fix the generator. Just opening the hatch. They pretend to play along with Ollie but make sure to do things right, to keep everyone safe.

Though poppy was pushy to start setting up explosives etc. the player argues back about how easily that could go wrong. Old explosives?! And just placing them where they could easily be moved again. Not happening. It’s a miracle they haven’t already gone off!

Eventually Doey comes back and everyone is safe. Poppy just sulks mostly as the employee plans with Doey on what to do next.

Thanks to the engineering knowlage the player is able to rearrange a bunch of the prison with their new Omni hand. Locking up ferals and finding old rations that looked like bricks to an untrained eye. With some ancient spices found in an old kitchen they could make a meal big enough for the group for the night.

From there they continue to help safe haven. Even with Ollie calling here and there to try and have the player go out.

And of course the player gets closer to Doey. Finding ways to help them or create games and safety plans for the toys to let Doey relax.

Of course I’m me and I like to interject vore into any story I write. So as the player gets closer to Doey and the 3 kids within. They learn about how he loves to play in a very unique manner. And as the days turn to about a week that’s when the real vore shenanigans happen. They are safe and everyone is thriving thanks to the players knowlage.

Of course safety means more free time/boredom. And with Doey that means some interesting games.

This is long enough. I’ll likely write little short story’s inspired by my art about the boys favorite vore scenarios. Just wanted to spit this out into the void as I await sleep.

I'm glad you like the headcanon, she's everything to me tbh. You can safely assume any time I talk about Ratio that this conception of her is in my mind.

ramblings under the cut (CW: vague mentions of intersexism and transmisogyny)

About her being intersex, I usually have two sets of headcanons: one where she has nCAH and the other hyperandrogenic PCOS. Part of why I have this headcanon is projection ofc; but it's also because I like the idea of Ratio in her goal to cure the disease of ignorance, she desires to destroy the false concept of the sex binary. It makes the goal very personal to her, being affected by intersexism, in addition to the altruism.

I think Ratio struggled a lot in her transition journey, because she felt like she had to give up a lot of the things she liked about her body and herself and had to conform to beauty standards she didn't like in her attempts to achieve the Ideal Woman status. I think she used to do extensive voice training, wear full beat makeup, and tried to avoid putting on muscle to give the thin and dainty vibe. Even though she likes her deep voice, a full face is a sensory nightmare for her, and trying to keep her body mass down was unhealthy for her...that's what she thought she needed to do. Her oddly British accent (odd for a character Greek and Roman inspired) is from imitating women she thought of as elegant and refined. She used to wear pumps in her classroom and offices even though she hated how they hurt her feet, because that's what other women wear to work.

And I imagine the Ratio we have in the present is one who is secure in her gender identity that she does not feel the need to overperform femininity. She knows that she does need to be accepted by others to know her own worth. Her body is toned and built, she speaks with a deep voice, wears clothes that are comfortable for her (cutouts for ventilation and a nice pair of sandals), puts on red eyeliner and calls it a look. And you can tell she loves it because of all those statues lmao.
