Deren’s entire conceit makes me really sad as an artist myself. Like, people call her a slacker or con-artist but if anything she’s simply jaded with the very idea of creating movies, and uses a devil-may-care attitude to cover for that depression.

Imagine pouring your heart and soul into a work, a work that’s essentially a tribute to someone you’ll never see or know, but whose struggle inspired you nonetheless— but the work is decried as worthless by your production company and its message obliterated in order to maintain widespread appeal.

You don’t want to acquiesce to this, but you’re also too conscientious to sacrifice the work of everyone behind the scenes on the pyre of your ego, and so you let this happen, you let your darling work be demolished. And then when the movie releases, you’re hailed as a visionary. You become a household name, fabulously wealthy, all in exchange for betraying your ideal.

(Gacha Anon) okay so I was aggressively playing the Chain Challenges on FEH to get orbs to summon Shiro and I had 6 from doing the paralogues. So, I went to summon in the Children of Fates and tapped a blue orb. While it was doing the summoning animation, I was also looking around for my eraser yknow theN I LOOKED BACK AT MY SCREEN AND I SEE SHIRO IM SO SHOOK LIKE I LITERALLY SCREAMED AND MY MOM WAS ALSO IN THE SAME ROOM SO SHE WAS LIKE "WHAT THE HELL-" so uhm yeah my anime love life is exposed
