obviously i get a lot of reading/writing tiktoks pushed my way by different websites because im a writer. but i've got to say one of the most flabbergasting things i've been forced to find out as a result of veiwing these was not any of the insane, mind-boggling kinds of porn out there-- but indeed the fact that there are still dramione fans? and fics? and people will admit to that? in public??
i'm not going to lie, i thought dramione was the ship we all pretended to be into back when we thought we were straight. and then moved onto drarry, before of course dropping the harry potter interest completely in recent years as all rational people did.
but no. they're still out there. dramione fans. in the year of our lord 2023. dear god.

LET ME COOK WHILE I STILL HAVE THE OBSESSION.
Warnings: You will need some napkins and to make sure you're alone as you're reading.
The young girl strolled through the isles. Her arms crossed, heavy sigh leaving her cherry lips as she pouts with boredom.
"Aaah, I don't know.. I'm not hungry but I really want to eat..."
She grabbed some sweet ramen and a cup of ice cream. Heading to the checkouts, she handed the cashier her items.
"Found everything you're looking for, sweetheart?"
Said the man with dark hair.
"Oh yes, thank you very much sir."
She said, packing her items while tapping her card.
"Father! Training's over, guys are head-wooah.."
The youngster froze in his place upon the girl's figure.
"Ya rude kid! Don't stare at people like that, you're going to scare her away. She is a good customer!! I apologize on my son's behalf ma'am.."
The girl kindly nodded and said it's alright before leaving. The teens came rushing in, faces all red except the blond one who seemed pretty unbothered.
"What's up with you all's faces??"
"Kuroo you dumb or blind not to see the chick that just recently left your store??"
"Yeah, such a cutie."
"The only bad thing bout her is the way she jumped into that ginger's arms."
They all puffed and huffed. With the summer about to end and his last year of high school starting Kuroo was barely fine without a girlfriend.
"Guys, get over it. She's not even that pretty."
"You kidding?? She is literally fire!!"
"Cmon guys ignore him. He didn't even glance at her!"
They kept arguing about all that while the blond watched something in the tiny screen of his phone. The breezy night ended quickly and school year was to start with the blink of an eye. Days passed by, girl forgotten by all of them.
In the 3rd month 2nd week 4th day at the late hours of his last year, the team was wasted after all the practice. Laying down flat, one suddenly jumped.
"OMG ISN'T THAT"
they all came near the door. The girl from Kuroo's father's grocery store, in Nekoma's uniform- wait what?? Kuroo thought to himself. How could they not have noticed her?
"Oh, hey guys?"
She turned around, now far from the gym where sweaty guys yelled behind her. She squinted her eyes, looking at a figure behind them.
"Kenma?? You never mentioned you were in the volleyball team!!"
She claimed with excitement. She walked over to them, bowing to introduce herself.
"Hello Kenma's teammates. I'm Y/N Hinata!! I just started here this year and live the dorms next building. So I better hurry and get in before they lock me out-"
"Again?"
Kenma chuckled as the girl yelled about how that was to be kept a secret and she apologized, running away.
"What was that all Kenma?? Thought she wasn't of your type?"
They pressured him, feeling jealous how he got ahead.
"She is. I never said she wasn't my type."
Hs flipped around his phone. A stream of a game playing, her in the corner talking about how her character is about to die of low hp.
They stood there, stunned. Later when Kuroo and Kenma had a sleepover the topic came up, surely.
"She was locked out of the dormitory crying when I left the practice early. She remembered me and I knew her since I've been watching her streams everyday-she wasn't streaming that day so... Asked me if I knew any cheap hotels near by. I offered her to stay with us and explained to my mother. We played games and all. She isn't off my tail since."
Kuroo could swear he heard his best friend mumble about how "It's actually pretty nice, having her enough.." but nowhere in hell would Kenma admit to saying that.
There wasn't a choice. I mean- the only choice heart makes is sushi or chicken, not if you should fall for her or her. So when Kuroo walked past a girl swinging by the park near his house, he couldn't help but swing with her. Maybe chit chat, exchange phone numbers, steal glances?
His gulit was tripping heavily upon his each word, trying to flirt with the first year seated besides him once she finally became the team manager. Kuroo knew he wasn't for her. They traveled in the volleyball bus, exchanging words of how to make the team's defenses stronger against the foreign team they're going to play against today. Surely his mind was off to her hair, her figure and-
"Kuroo? You listening?"
"Sorry, couldn't sleep last night..."
"Someone's excited huh?"
He nodded, knowing very well he slept just fine the other night. But the way her eyes shone talking about a strategy or how they were going to turn the whole place into a mess once winning...
They got off the bus, months later. Today was the day of the huge match. The one against the crows. The way the girl besides him flew against the gymnasium and jumped to the arms of the ginger. That was the boy the team was talking about last summer, no?
"Damn, she's taken??"
"Oi Shoyo, who's the girl?? She's pretty well!!"
The crows surrounded her quickly. The cats didn't have a chance but to run off in order to save their manager.
"Wait wait-let her go!"
"Hey Hinata! Why's such a pretty girl throwing herself at you when you literally just said you were single??"
The girl froze in her place, a disgusted look upon her face.
"Ew, Sho, you never spoke of me you jerk??"
Kenma was the calmest of all.
"No, no n/n calm down! I told them about you I swear!"
He turned to his team,
"Guys, this is y/n. She's my twin, told you all bout her and said she was in Tokyo, remember??"
All the guys' faces lit up so fast that one watching them would've thought they won the lottery.
"So she is single?"
Girl chuckled, shaking her head. Kuroo was confused. She had a boyfriend?? While all this happened, the coaches finally jumped in and started the practice. Both teams were just fine with their performance while the girl remained far from them. At the end of the day, everyone wasted, Kuroo saw -with the corner of his eye- the blond layed down all sweaty. After the girl handed out drinks to everyone she walked up to him- not her brother but to her teammate. Kenma raised his head, putting it on girl's lap. She kindly untangled his hair, landing a kiss after wiping off his sweat.
Kuroo felt his heart shatter to pieces. She was not single, at all. On top she was occupied with his bestfriend. No one but him noticed how close the two were after that day. The couple was hiding nothing but only no one paid enough attention.
How long have they been together? How long 'til Kuroo is over her?His mind never really calmed down through the nights of the practices. After the final day in the nation tournament, he quit the team saying he's to focus on his studies. Day by day girl occupied lesser and lesser space in his mind. Though days would arrive where his bestfriend visited him, bringing his pretty girlfriend to his college. The three would hang up, Kuroo's mind wandered off those days, still not over and still not shaken up from her.
After years, when she finally graduated college Kenma took her to a trip, in the forest. Her best friend and Kuroo tagged along while Kuroo couldn't figure out why.
Only when he saw the ring box in Kenma's hand he remembered what the girl said the first night the team was in a hotel. Everyone off to sleep just the trio, Kenma buried in his game she mentioned how she wanted a proposal in a lake, with her bestfriend in the next canoe recording them. That's what happened the very next day.
So the night following, Kenma's tent was empty while sweet noises came from the girl's tent. Only ever heard when trying to hear. His best friend's voice muffled in with her silent pleas while Kuroo rest, his heart racing. His bestfriend's now fiancee remained his first crush. He shamed himself for wishing for a chance with her.
Years passed by, Kuroo had many other relationships with many other girls- many looking much alike Y/N- though none lasted as long as his bestfriend's first and last relationship. Just after his last fling leaving his office in tears, Kenma knocked up. He asked him for a party organizer, years after the twos marriage-Yes Kuroo helped him get an organizer for their wedding too- Not knowing what for Kuroo agreed. He was invented yet he didn't read the details, since he decided to keep his distance with the two due to the sinking of his heart. Saying he had to travel for work the day, he sent his best regards.
the day of the party, laying on his couch with the tiredness of the work day Kuroo scrolled on his phone. A news flashed on his screen.
"The famous streamer couple Y/N and Kenma's pregnant! They had such a strange gender reveal party that the strangeness it's would be shocked with the events."
His eyes read, gulping with the news.
He sent his text, knowing his life would go on like this.
"Heard you're pregnant, congrats bro."
"Thanks Kuroo. Nothing would've happened without ya."
He let go of his phone, laying tiredly on his couch before drifting off to sleep.

r/daggerheart is toxic AF...and I love it
Note: This is just a rant about the subbreddit and their inability process any critique of the game that goes against their narrative of the game. The game itself has a lot of good parts, which I really like. But this post isn't about the game, but the subbreddit.
So you know, I am a nerd that like to nerd about games and probabilities. I've been interested in Daggerheart for a while because I am a fan of Critical Role, and the beta playtest rules recently came out. I was super excited, so I read through the PDF as soon as I got the chance, also started a game with my partner.
And honestly, there are some great parts to the game. But there are also some design decisions that made me scratch my head. So I shared some of my thoughts on r/daggerheart.
Oh boy did I poke a beehive. That subbreddit is pretty hostile toward anyone who dares to criticize the game. My first post critiquing the complexity of the damage system got down voted to oblivion. They told me I shouldn't have opinion on the very things I can read because I haven't played the game. So when I played the game and posted my feedback, these folks dismissed my criticisms because I was suffering from "new system syndrome."
Oh, and the comments. They were something else. The sub is dominated by a group of people who are pushing the narrative that Daggerheart is "rules-light" and "very easy" and "less math than DND."
Yes, Daggerheart is a rules-light game with a 377 page rulesbook. Because this is still beta, it is missing a ton of rules, not to mention artwork. But sure, it's a rules-light game. Because what is page count if not just a number?
Yes, Daggerheart is "very easy" if you ignore the fact that every character has HP, minor damage threshold, major damage threshold, severe damage threshold, stress, hope, and armor on top of your abilities and backstory and everything else you are trying to juggle.
Yes, Daggerheart has less math than DND because instead of just subtracting the damage from the HP, you compare the damage to each of the thresholds to decide whether or not you want to reduce the damage by armor, then determine how much you lower the HP by, unless it is below the minor threshold, in which case you take stress, but if you are filled up on stress, you take 1 HP. Oh, and you know, if you also ignore the fact that you roll two dice, add the numbers, and check to see which one is bigger to decide which one is bigger every single time you want to do something.
So yeah, if you ignore all of those very obvious things that I can see with my very own eyes, my own experience of running the game, my experience having played a rules-light RPG like Candela, they are right: Daggerheart is a rules-light game that is very easy to play with less math than DND /s.
Seriously, these folks will fight you tooth-and-nail to tell you that what you can see is wrong. They will gaslight you, tell you about how 11-years can play Daggerheart, their 73 year old mother can play Daggerheart, tell you that you are playing the game wrong, DND has taught you bad habits, and that your critique doesn't matter because all you want is the game to be more like DND.
And I love it. I love seeing the cognitive dissonance. I love going at it with these die-hard fans. And it's pretty easy on my part. I don't need to get mean—all I need to do is point out very obvious things. And you know, no foul no harm—we keep going until one or both of us get sick of arguing about whatever specific thing we are arguing about.
Anyway, enough of my rant.
I want Daggerheart to succeed. I really do. I think Matt Mercer and friends are pretty good folks, and I find their story inspiring, and I would love to see them succeed. I hope that Daggerheart developers listen to the critical feedbacks, make the game better, and not try to push any weird narratives (like they did with Candela vs FitD).

Everyone gets to decide to watch or not watch what they want, and I know media discourse is par for the course these days, but something doesn't sit right with me to see a fandom so divided over queer bipoc creators making a parody (i would argue, it's very critical of it's source material) of a problematic piece of media.
As a trans person myself, I don't think that dropout and the people who are excited about the new season are complicit in violence against trans women (a real comment I saw, person coincidentally didn't mention the violence against trans men that the terf movement perpetuates as well). I do think that being mean on the internet and calling people overly sensitive because they feel uncomfortable watching mismag is also not great. I understand why some people may be uncomfortable, but that does not mean that people who like mis-mag are the bad guys.
IDK... I know we live in an age where people think that you're evil if you consume certain media, but I don't think that's always the case. (my big secret: i actually think you can even enjoy HP still and be a good ally as long as you realize that maybe that's a private joy right now due to the actions of it's author, and are also cognizant about biases in the work that may have influenced your approach to the world - now putting your house in your bio, cosplaying, etc. is a big sign that you don't care about trans people's comfort or safety more than participating in this particular fandom, imon - all the more reason for a new fandom space to pop up that fulfills that need without being super transphobic).
TLDR: I think we need to be able to separate "Queer BIPOC creators making new media to increase their own representation" and "cishet creators claiming allyship but still making HP themed artwork because it sells".

Oh take care of your father, I understand the delays
But I wanted to thank you for liking my magical black American wizards ideas I do as I want to show that not all black people have victim complex
Because that magical negeroes
“Oh yes black writers, who are willingly to live in one of the most expensive and godforsaken cities in America and work in one of the most corrupted industries on the planet. Please tell me how the average black person must act like a slave to mainly upper middle class white people given the trailer.”
Perhaps it explains in the trailer, but how the fuck we got magic but still subverted? Did we meddling with druids and witches or something?
Not to mention a lot of white people were confused who this movie was meant for as they mention they would be down for a black Harry Potter
Funny enough my magical America idea came from a Disney channel sitcom and cartoon that was to cash in on the HP phenomen
Ain’t that bitch
Also as you picked up, I would focus on the cultural divergence. Like the American druids in general created their own culture and they and the Irish ones see each other as “cousins” than say brothers
Also for native Americans wizards, I will do jokes that the native tribes will probably like
A American wizard: Oh shit this native monster is going to kill us! What should we do?!
Native wizard: I’m from ANOTHER tribe, we need to go to the one that dealt with this guy
AW: Oh…i thought you would know…
NW:…I’m from a Iroquois tribe, this freak from Washington
AW: Wait there other Iroquois tribes?
NW: IT WAS A FUCKING CONFEDERACY AAAAAAAH-
Oh another one about outfits
AW: Oh okay, we got this ritual ready-Wait why are you wearing Victorian era clothing
NW: Because my ancestors wore these?
Aw: Oh….i thought you would wear all that precolonial garb..
NW: You mean, what that term we begrudgingly agree upon using for outsiders? Oh yes the full shaman gear? Well 1. We had to keep our most powerful magic away from our enemies prior to the Europeans. And 2. You need special permission from the tribe elders to get such items. Which I’m not in the mood to argue with
Aw: Does everyone have family issues?
My joke is that I will point out the different native tribes. Like a visual gag of a Cherokee and a Californian native being shoved into the same group much to their frustrations
Also as you mentioned Shaft and Black Dynamite. I was going to make character that homage to them and create a new wizardry group that came from the influx of Chinese and Japanese immigration. Basically a lot of Asian dispora created magical gun martial arts, though like if they fight someone from the ancestral home. You can see the difference between their tactics
By the pope, could there be someone with both cowboy and samurai ancestry I could make? Is that possible? How I don’t make it goofy as possible?
You could do a lot of cool shit if look past America beyond the surface levels
Gonna be Friday now it looks like, better these things go wrong in the hospital though, gotta make sure to have a nice flavorful meal for him when we can finally get him home.
Heart surgery is bad, but 2 weeks of hospital food it torture.
But I wanted to thank you for liking my magical black American wizards ideas I do as I want to show that not all black people have victim complex
You're excited about it and I can tell that makes it double worth reading
Perhaps it explains in the trailer, but how the fuck we got magic but still subverted? Did we meddling with druids and witches or something? Not to mention a lot of white people were confused who this movie was meant for as they mention they would be down for a black Harry Potter
Good question for #1 and for #2 there's also a lot of us that don't feel like being talked down too and told they're racist
Funny enough my magical America idea came from a Disney channel sitcom and cartoon that was to cash in on the HP phenomen Ain’t that bitch
Nothing wrong with being inspired by Disney, Walt was all about that.
Also as you picked up, I would focus on the cultural divergence. Like the American druids in general created their own culture and they and the Irish ones see each other as “cousins” than say brothers Also for native Americans wizards, I will do jokes that the native tribes will probably like Joke goes here

true how come they're in their traditional garb and we aren't? german heritage American Wizard needs magical leiderhosen.

That'll be a group from Oakland/San Francisco then, get the most crossover between the groups there.

#I’m sorry but since I saw a post in TikTok I can’t stop comparing Natlan to my little pony😭#the way Mavuika is just sunset shimmer😭#finally another Guthred enjoyer#it’s like 4 of us against the world😌#idk but I will be pretty dissapointed if Capitano comes back as he is since he basically become the part of the lord if the night#I at least expect for him to come back as a woman lol#I feel like Natlan was fine until 5.2 and than that horrible interlude quest dropped and 5.3 just felt rushed especially the action scenes#Also the pyro sovereign who is actually just an abyss mimic felt unnesesery#there was no real threat there#imo they should have just made us fight some npc who were the prev pyro archons plus like Mavuika’s family or idk it would have been better
To me the ending felt like a copypaste of FFXIV Endwalker final sequence minus the friendly blood knight (walking through bridges in a liminal space seeing shades of people you've met in your travels, fighting a personification of existential despair, being saved by friends praying). I guess it's a stereotype of the genre? Or maybe they just borrowed from that game specifically, they do borrow from each other for inspiration.
I can't believe there are so few Guthred enjoyers ;_; He's fascinating (I may have a kink for a combination of devotion and ruthlessness. and being evil so that someone else can be noble and good looks at faves)
I don't necessarily want Capitano to come back as a playable character or in any particular form but I'd like that story to be continued in some way. He did trigger the paradox, I think? Would be lovely if it, well, did something (again, another bit of lore that looks promising but may not ever lead to anything. maybe the recent leyline disturbances are not actually connected to this)
I'm a bit fuzzy on what part of plot was the interlude. Healing abyssal corrosion? I think that was an attempt to feed us lore that we only had in side quests before. The Abyss mimic sovereign didn't bother me too much either, he seems just a hp sponge while the (fake) previous pyro archons talk to us and despair. I don't mind this type of storytelling in games. (perhaps my problem with Genshin lately is that I look at it and see mechanics and plot devices and their justification, not a living world or ideas I want to agree or argue with)
I think Natlan just generally had a lot of things that didn't land if you were not already into them. Like the choice between survival and preserving memory and legacy is an absolutely beautiful theme but it got mentioned twice in passing. Making the player attached to some part of Natlan culture (last remnants of a singing tradition, a precious relic, a patch of special flowers that allow a ritual of talking to a shadow of a dead loved one) and then making them to sacrifice it to progress the plot and save a character would have been more convincing (I guess the spiritstone was a bit like that?). The way it was presented was too abstract and got resolved too quickly (through a sparring match and a conversation), it's a choice that needs to be felt before it's made.
I sort of vibe with Capitano's stance as a person who currently seems to be on the losing side of history. The desire to save those you can still save, a certain cynicism that comes from knowing that simply being right is not enough, a hope that someone else might fare better than his country. But again, I don't think it's anything but implied and it's not what people discuss about him?
Mavuika repeating "no one fights alone" when she does everything alone herself should have probably made me feel something. Or being shown how no one is ever truly alone if they are part of a line of people following the same goal. Or how every single hero got their special name after they had to deal with something completely alone because that's what heroes do. The relationship of a hero and their nation and the paradox of loneliness and not-loneliness of this path is a beautiful story too. I really should have felt something. Somehow I didn't.
It's all a bit like Ayato with his child ninjas and Arlecchino with the House of Hearth. Both are essentially the same trope but HoH arc hits most people harder because it's spelled out rather than hinted at.
It could be argued that none of it is a story Hoyo wanted to tell but "good guys who are too awesome to have real interpersonal problems uniting to kick ass of a 100% evil guy" is, well, a story that deserves to be told but most of us got lured into genshin by morally grey husbandos, let's be realistic here.
(please excuse me while I cry in the corner with my Guthred pillow)
I don't particularly mind the power of friendship. Yeah, you need a village to combat existential despair, that's how it works. I do prefer Mondstadt power of good teamwork and insane witches though.
Finished Natlan AQ
Genshin has achieved true body diversity and the fanbase can finally thirst after a rhomboid
If there's one Guthred fangirl in this world it's me. If there are no Guthred fangirls I'm dead
I stand by my words that the main problem of Natlan is the absence of Childe. Endwalker shonen finale was saved by Zenos (if you know you know. and I don't even like Zenos) and Gosoythoth battle would have benefited from the same
I loved Capitano's stunt in the end
Generally I'm not a huge fan but I don't understand the hate either.
It's strange to change the genre to shonen mid-game, yes, but generally Natlan feels half-baked more than it feels conceptually wrong.
(I see some really pretty themes, they just didn't land because of the complete absence of exposition)
My expectations were also extremely low, so maybe that's why I didn't mind.
I'm also making peace with the fact that it's not that writers are hiding lore from us, there is just no lore. They keep regurgitating the thing about fake sky and hope and dreams being able to counter the Abyss because that's all there is really. Everything else is flavour text and ass-pulls to make cool cinematics.
(Abyss is a Mysterious Evil Thing From Space and will remain such for the next 15 years, there's no beautiful paradox in Teyvat's foundation that created it. it's not a Japanese story for writers to be able to think like that.
this annoys me in the same way George Martin's books annoy me by almost being what I would want from a perfect story. it's more frustrating than a story that is just bad)
Hoyo writers are also extremely good at doing their homework and referencing Good Literature, so this is high quality flavour text and cinematics are indeed occasionally cool.
That said, I do hope that Capitano's action was the "good job breaking it, hero" trope. Would be kinda meh otherwise.

HOGWARTS LEGACY VS JKR
Out of context but I decided to celebrate the release of the latest Harry Potter game (10.02) and I have to say here my opinion on this subject, someone who grew up on HP, is part of the LGBT and does not wholeheartedly support person who created this magical world. No matter what you think, if you have any respect for another human being, please read what I have to say, k?
The fact that I wanted to write such an entry appeared in my head from the moment I started getting insults and threats here because I supposedly "support jkr"... because I like Harry and I drew pictures with him over a year ago quite regularly? This is stupid. Just like raiding people because they like something is stupid. Since apparently we have a problem with separating author from they work and attack for everyone who has anything to do with Harry Potter has begun. Apart from the fact that books can be bought used and fan merch exists, we can not support the author financially in any way, do you think it changes anything? Like for Christmas, me and my fiancé got HP bedding and HP pajamas from my mama, and do you think that JK came to Poland to thank my ma' for this purchase? You think that made her have enough money to feed her children and pay for the apartment? NO. Do you think she cares? Of course not! Rowling is a person who could allocate a significant part of her wealth (because yes, we must not forget about it if we want to be objective) for charity, probably even her three children will not be able to spend the money she has because there is too much of it.
But here we come to someone who is not so rich and does not have that much money. Do you know who? The creators of the game. The creators of the game, who not only make a living from being part of creating it, they devoted long hours to it and delved into the world that they must love so that the society that has been waiting for a good game from this university for years will get it. And now you can scream "But why did they go to make a transphobe game?!?!?!?" Let me explain, the first transphobic JK Rowlings games on Twitter appeared in 2020, and the first mentions of the already quite developed Hogwarts Legacy we met in 2018. It is true that the creators cleverly wanted to cut themselves off from JKR, but unfortunately even they were intolerant of "anti jkr", and yes really anti their time, anti their work and anti their work as artists.
And you think that even if, hypothetically, none of the games were bought, would the author of HP cry about it? No, we would show her that even if the next games, books and movies fail, she will still be in a high position as an author.
Now in private, I hope you're not a hypocrite and if you think that just liking HP is supporting JKR, are you doing anything for others to be what they want to be? Have you helped a trans person and bought them a binder? Do you publicly defend their right to use the restroom where they feel comfortable or did you do something JUST FOR GOOD of that person? Or let's go even deeper, since everyone should be equal, have you helped other people in need? Have you donated blood? Are you in the bone marrow donor database? Have you supported any foundation that supports what is most important to you? Poor ones? Womans? Kids? Animals? Or maybe you just sit on the Internet, use emotional blackmail and hide behind the alleged tolerance, but only in terms of what should be right for you & you want to force others to your will? Ordinary people like me and you suffer because of this behavior. If you want to destroy the right of many people to create their own creations and probably millions of people's right to take a break from the gray world and play a game about a magical kid running around the castle - you are as bad as the jkr you hate so much. Just intolerant.
Nah due to the fact that I am quite sick I don't have the strength to argue in the comments but I think such things should be said out loud, from someone who is at the center of it all. I'll probably be a poser, but I'd rather buy a switch game once it's available, but for now, I wish everyone could feel comfortable - whether it's in such big things as orientation, pronouns or being yourself, but also in such mundane things as liking Harry Potter. If it makes you happy and doesn't hurt anyone, remember that you don't have to be like the author if you don't support them. Good day my beans! ~Firinnie

Harry Potter and Sorting hat houses?
Speaking of Hogwarts house and characters. What do you think is the primary and secondary of characters from Harry Potter? Like: Bellatrix, Percy, Voldemort, Harry, Dumbledore and Grindelwald?
I have a feeling that most characters associated with Slytherin are actually Lion primary. Bellatrix being that fanatical pure-blood supremacist who can sacrifice her family for the cause. Voldemort might be Lion Primary? Given how all he cares about is his cause - immortality, pure-blood supremacy and world dominance. Even Draco feels Badger-ish. Grindelwald and Dumbledore also both feel like Lion-Snake.
And I think Harry is actually Bird-Lion and not Lion primary. I don't know, he doesn't have that Dionysian reasoning like a more obvious Lion like Hermione (her cause and moral conscience comes from direct experience and gut feeling, not mental rumination). And as a Lion primary myself, the way he thinks, always mentioning the teachings from his mentors (Dumbledore, Sirius, Arthur and Lupin) is definitely not Lion Primary thing. And how he must know the truth to move on with life (that Dumbledore dilemma, seeing his father in Snape's memory).
A Lion would be more surefooted in their belief, sometimes even stubborn. In his shoes, I'd still go on, because the cause is just, even if Dumbledore was wrong, or James used to be an absolute a-hole, that doesn't matter. What matters is what they and we do now. I don't need to know the truth to function. It's a luxury, not necessity. And I think Percy is a Lion-Bird, like Hermione, Lions are in fact very susceptible to propaganda, since we rely too much on gut feelings. Though it's a hit or miss.
That's my opinion. But what do you think?
I haven't given it a lot of thought, to be honest. I know SHC had a post about the HP characters that addressed this specifically and how they sorted some characters into different Houses than Rowling does -- and now I can't find it, since their accidental blog delete-age got rid of most of their archived arguments. :/
I would say offhand you are right, Harry isn't a Gryffindor Primary. If you look at Hermione as a really good example of one -- he is never that black and white. He's a bit horrified at some of the things she does (like hexing traitors to have their face break out). But I don't know that Ravenclaw Primary fits -- I'd assume Hufflepuff or Slytherin, since he's clearly people-and-morals driven. Harry isn't detached the way Ravenclaws are -- it's all about doing the right thing and being the Chosen One. It's more people / feelings than rationalization or living up to a constructed code.
Ron is a Slytherin-Gryffindor. He abandons Hermione and Harry to go be with his family, and then feels eaten up with guilt about it afterward. He's extremely loyal, but only to his friends. He thinks Percy is a "git" for betraying his family / Dumbledore. (Percy actually standing by his Cause, even if it's wrong and stupid, shows an actual Gryffindor fierce "I will do this with or without you" that Ron lacks.)
Hermione is a Gryffindor-Ravenclaw, yes. Ginny I would say is straight up double Gryffindor.
Dumbledore... ah, yes. I have had many conversations about Dumbledore with my friends. He does seem Slytherin-ish as a Secondary, but I would argue that Voldemort is a Ravenclaw Secondary and a Slytherin Primary. He really only cares about himself, and uses a "cause" (pure blood supremacy, despite being a "half-blood") to conceal his actual aim, which is his own survival. I think he's one of those Slytherins who only cares about "me." As for the Claw Secondary -- he is a meticulous planner in advance, who gets very angry whenever Harry and his friends ruin his plans. He carefully checks on all of his plans, and doesn't seem to adapt well -- more like a "I need a plan" Ravenclaw than a "I'll wing it" Slytherin Secondary.
Grindelwald... haven't seen a lot of him yet in Fantastic Beasts, but Gryffindor-Slytherin is probably accurate.
And for a record, as an LGBTQ person, I'm not fond of JK Rowling as a person. Her novels are fine for me, but her personality, nope.
That's a wise and mature attitude to hold. Separating the art from the artist allows you to keep what you love without approving of opinions you dislike.

Hi all - I'm going to do some education here, because I teach, among other things, about social media and fanfiction and copyright, and I think the reasons why selling bound fanfiction is bad need to be spelled out. Especially for those of you who have grown up since the 2000s, fic is such a normalized part of the internet that you probably don't realize the implications of this.
First, let me be very clear about something. If you are binding a printed copy of an author's work and selling it for profit, and you didn't ask that author's permission to do so, you are doing something illegal. You are making money off of someone's intellectual property when they didn't agree to let you do that. And that's illegal, full stop.
This is why, by the way, printing and binding a copy for yourself is fine. Printing and binding a copy as a gift for a friend is fine. You aren't making any money, you're paying for the materials and doing the labor, and you aren't mass-distributing it for anyone who wants to buy one.
Now, is this a little more complicated because fanfiction itself is free? Sure. I can see someone arguing, "But authors put up their stories for free, and I'm just charging for the cost of the binding. I'm not trying to make a profit." True. But, if you did not ask the author's permission, making and selling printed copies of their work is still illegal. You still stole their product, something that they created, and are trying to sell it. It's like you are selling cheap Kate Spade knockoffs on a street corner. And, you monetized something that the original author intended to be free to readers.
I am sure someone will also make the point that fanfic authors don't have a lot of legal standing in this. They write their work for free, and fanfiction is, itself, derivative of the original work. This is true. But that is exactly why this kind of selling of fic is dangerous! You are exposing the author of that fan work (not to mention yourself!) to lawsuits because you are selling something that infringes on the copyright of the original author! And frankly, I can't believe Etsy hasn't shut down these sellers already, because they become legally liable too, when people are selling illegal products on their site.
Think of it this way. I'll invoke JKR here because she's ridiculously rich from a series that a lot of people loved, and because a lot of the fic authors being harmed right now are part of HP fandom. If you are selling bound HP fanfic, you are infrining on JKR's copyright of her work. JKR could send her entire team of lawyers after you, and hound you for the rest of your life, and you would lose, because making money off of derivative work is part of the definition of copyright infringement. You could try to argue that you aren't doing it for profit, that you aren't making money, but you would probably lose. JKR can let her lawyers argue against you until the end of time.
In addition - I'll say it again - you are infringing on the intellectual property of the HP fanfic author. Would it be harder for a fic author to make this case in a legal court? Sure, because their work is already derivative, and only the original elements of the fic are their property. But if you took that work and printed it and sold it without their permission, they could still seek damages. They weren't the ones doing the printing or making money. They weren't the ones infringing on JKR's copyright and taking money away from her profits. You, the bookbiner, were.
These kind of actions are the things that upset the very careful balance fandom has with media companies. Fandom only works in the way it does now because media companies recognized that fandom generated a lot of free publicity and enthusiasm for their products. But this? Selling fanficiton that the authors didn't give you permission to sell, and that JKR didn't give you permission to write? This is the kind of nightmare that sends fandom back into the shadows, into the days of being sued by Anne Rice and Marion Zimmer Bradley and by every Disney property under the sun, and we all go back to sneaking each other 'zines at cons because it's the only way to stay under the radar.
Learn some fandom history, and something about the legalities of copyright, and CUT. THIS. SHIT. OUT.
STOP SELLING BOUND FANFICTION
Tumblr media
I cannot blame them for pulling their works, in fact I'm proud of them for doing so. Fanfiction is a community of gifting. As authors we write fics and share our works for free. Fanfiction is a weird, fragile, liminal space that can crumble at any time. This fragility needs to be respected.
If you want fanfiction to be around for you to enjoy, then the rules need to be respected!
You can bind fics. You can gift bound fics. DO NOT SELL BOUND FICS!!
Or soon we won't have fanfiction anymore and the world will be much darker for it.

HP!Au- Sleepybois + Tommy
Shit happened in the CoG server and this was born, I don’t generally like posting MCYT stuff but I’ve written 3k words for this motherfucker and you bet’cha arse Imma post it. This idea was first created by @amused-curiosity and I just ran with it. This is very much a bunch of bullet-pointed ideas with dialogue that was written in discord so it can be kinda(very) disjointed.
PART 1
PART 2
PART 3
PART 4
PART 5
PART 6
PART 7
Some background and general worldbuilding (plus sneak peek at people who turn up):
Tommy and Wilbur are in Gryffindor, Techno and Squid are in Ravenclaw, Tubbo is in Hufflepuff and Deo (plus Phil) is in Slytherin.
Phil essentially adopted Wil, Techno and Tommy
Outline of what sav wrote:
Tommy gets cornered by a couple gryff. 6th years who ask why he’s friends with Tubbo, he overhears and shit goes down. They don’t talk for a while.
It’s boggart time! The main body of what goes on is sav’s so that's hers to post- keep an eye out, it really fucked me up.
-----------------------------
Boggarts would switch between people, it wouldn't just be Wilbur which is all the more heartbreaking. It would switch between the people the boggart mentions as they come up (people who Tommy used to be friends with). Then go from like, techno to his parents(? I’m really on the fence about this, idk, feeling iffy, might delete later) then Phil before stopping on Tubbo- who's still standing there shocked as all hell.
The teacher was about to cast ridikulus
Tubbo gets there first
Tommy's hands are shaking as he bends down to pick up his wand
The class starts to get restless and whisper
Tommy walks out
Tubbo goes after him but turns up at potions empty-handed.
-------------------------------------
Tubbo teams up with the rest of their friends to comb the castle
Wilbur and techno are informed about the incident
Or- Wilbur gets informed, shrugs it off, then sees Tommy's friends group roaming the castle and gets worried, he tells techno and they go check the places Phil found and told them about eventually bumping into tubbo
Wilbur uses his prefect powers, charms and also the fact that at this point, everyone in the castle knows about what has happened and the fact that no-one has found Tommy to keep the little group searching after curfew, although he sent the rest back to their respective common rooms
The teachers try to help but get quietly rebuffed- this is something they need to deal with themselves.
Ironically, it's Squid that finds him first
He’d slipped into the ravenclaw tower, disabled the basic, 'don't go out the window' charms like techno had taught him and had been sitting on the roof for god knows how long
The next day, people were confused about how he got into the tower in the first place 'yeah he's smart- but enough to figure out the riddle and convince the raven to let him in in the first place? This is Tommy we're talking about, he probably scammed a firstie into letting him in'
(it was a bit of both, some poor firstie had been stuck outside the tower for a couple minutes, panicking because they were going to be late for potions and they had forgotten their textbook. Tommy managed to calm them down and give them the answer to the riddle before offering to help find the book- when shoo-ing them off to potions he held the door open with his foot and slipped up to techno's room)
Tommy was silent throughout the reaming that Will and techno gave him
Normally that would be a sign of trouble, a sign he was planning something even bigger and most definitely worse (unless he had really done something bad, but that would be when Phil steps in, and no-one argues with Phil)
But this was weird.
This was uncharted territory for the two
Even Tommy planning would give half-hearted retorts
They exchanged glances, frowning, Tommy being upset was way more Phil's territory than theirs
Tubbo just walks forward and hugs him
Tommy jumps and goes stiff, arms squashed at his side, eyes wide and panicked
 'I don't hate you, I couldn't, you're my best friend'
Will and techno exchange looks- they were really missing something important.
After all, no-one really knew Tommy like they did, knew the damage that hid below the annoying happy-go-lucky facade he so loved to flaunt.
They backed off, this wasn't theirs to intrude, Techno activated the silencing ward set up in around bed-space
Techno got started on a letter to Phil, asking if he was free to meet them all in Hogsmeade that weekend, that Tommy would probably not be sleeping well for a while, that it was like when he first came into their lives again
Wilbur went and apologised to techno's roommates
(They had all put up with Techno's rants about his family since year 1, and had been subjected to Tommy's antics for almost as long, by that point the ones that hadn't left were pretty tolerant if not slightly fond of the family too, plus, this just meant that the ones not bunking with a friend for the night were pissing about in the common room slightly more loudly than usual and had convinced squid to take a break as techno wasn't studying too)
Tubbo and Tommy talked for half an hour, most of which consisted of Tommy apologising profusely
It took another 15 minutes for tubbo to leave for his common room, leaving Tommy sitting on techno's bed alone, fiddling with his hands occasionally glancing up to stare at his hunched back
He takes another 5 before dismantling the silencing ward, finally drawing techno's attention
They end up sitting in silence, facing each other, till Wilbur comes back
He takes one look at the two of them, sighs dramatically and walks back out
They exchange almost identical slightly awkward, bewildered looks, Techno notes, embarrassed, Phil was right
(Wilbur goes and asks those left in the common room if they would mind him and Tommy crashing in their room before fetching his and Tommy's things giving Tommy's roommate a heart attack in the process)
He comes back with Squid and two of Techno's other roommates in tow
Squid, with the bed closest to the door, nods to Techno and sticks his tongue out at Tommy before crashing on his bed, curtains drawn and silencing ward activated. It was impressively worrying how smooth his movements were
One follows Squid and shuts himself in his bed, The other grabs their school bag and leaves, yawning loudly
Wilbur chucks Tommy's stuff at him, scaring the shit out of him as it smacks him in the face
They end up laughing semi-hysterically as Tommy sits there half shocked but starting to smile again while changing into pjs
Wilbur kicks techno off the chair and away from the desk, sending the two to brush their teeth
(normally Tommy would complain, comfortable enough in his place to dissent. It's Techno who grumbles this time, unnerved by his silence)
Wilbur finishes the letter to Phil and commandeers techno's owl to send it as quick as possible
Wilbur only goes and gets ready for bed himself when he sees Techno drag Tommy into bed and smother him in the blankets Phil had hidden in their suitcases
(Tommy curls up, trying to resist the urge to cling to Techno, he's so, so cold and Techno always runs hot)
Techno really starts to get worried when Tommy doesn't immediately latch onto him, how clingy he is when asleep has been a running joke for years
Wilbur gets back from the bathroom, pausing at the sight of a large lump of curled up Tommy under the blankets and techno, sitting upright and free from the usual limb restrictions sleeping in the vicinity of Tommy would result in, exchanging a worried look with techno
This had only really happened in the first year or so Tommy had started to live with them
Wilbur navigates the assortment of clothes and books scattered around techno's bed, nudging Tommy towards the middle of the bed to make room for himself
(Tommy shudders as he's pushed aside, he aches so badly, his soul keening for touch, for a hug, for affirmation that he's wanted, loved)
Wilbur slides in, under the mountains of blankets its too hot for the duvet too, staring intently at the lump of flesh masquerading as his little brother
(That's his first mistake, it had been years since Tommy had a relapse as bad as this- at least that's what they thought- Tommy was much better at hiding his damage than people assumed.)
Wilbur starts- voice low and soft, desperately trying not to wake Tommy up (a futile task) 'do we know what happened?'
Techno frowned, shifting closer to- but not touching- Tommy.
'It can't have just been the boggart, that doesn't make any sense' Wilbur whispers violently, Tommy's stronger than that, always had been.
Techno sighs, 'they had an argument, I think one of your sixth years are back on their bullshit with Tommy again'
Wilbur looks surprised, 'how the fuck do you know that'
'ahhhhhh... Deo told me'
 'you talk to Deo?'
'who do you think introduced them, you really think Tommy would go up to a Slytherin third year on his own and manage to befriend them before they want to strangle him?'
Wilbur shot him a deadpan look
'nevermind, yeah he absolutely would'
(Tommy can't help but relax, hearing the soft words wash over him, it's almost a Pavlovian response at this point, he's safe and warm curled up in between them, no arguing, just soft conversation. But there's no point in getting comfortable, it'll all go soon. They'll find out how much of a piece of shit he is and leave. They always do. He might as well enjoy it while it lasts though)
'What the fuck happened Techno, they've been friends since day one, they're glued to each others side half the time' Wilbur sighed, wiggling to try and get comfortable onto of the duvet.
'Just get in properly dude,' Techno deadpanned, doing exactly that, 'methinks you have some housecleaning to do'
Wilbur groans, shuffling under the duvet and throwing the blankets off his side of the bed
'This is so frustrating, I hate not knowing whats going on' 'you're telling me, Wil'
(Tommy manages to stiffen up even more, they were so, so close, it would be so easy to reach out and feel. He wanted to so bad and he was so tired
He couldn't. He couldn't make them resent him for making them stay. Not again.)

I don't usually reply to (tbh, stupid) comments like this but since you and your friends have not yet understood that you need to leave correctly tagged posts alone if you don't like them, I'll go ahead *sighs*
But the prophecy said...
Yes it said thrice defied him and Snape didn't know who it was about, he clearly wouldn't tell voldemort if he actually knew. What sense does it make for him to doom Lily and then beg Dumbledore to protect her family?? Do you... not understand this? He thought it was about random people and told his boss
What about the abuse Harry and Hermione suffered?
Yes well he was a jerk for the "I see no difference comment" and occasionally sassed Harry and took 2/5 points of Gryffindor. I don't see how that's abuse? And Snape is meant to be a jerk. He's NOT an abuser. Do not throw terms around that lightly.
What about Neville?
I'm so ashamed pro Snape people actually have to keep arguing about this. Has the HP fandom learnt nothing? The Boggart incident happened right after potions where Snape said he'd test Neville's potion on the toad. Neville literally smiled sheepishly when mentioning his greatest fear. Would you do that? And Bellatrix was not supposed to be introduced that early into the series. Plus aren't you supposed to visualise your Boggart? What would Neville see, since he'd never seen Bellatrix? The entire Boggart scene is literally written for laughs.
Btw Snape didn't hate Neville because he wasn't "the chosen one". If a kid melted six cauldrons in my class and couldn't follow simple instructions so as to not put himself and everyone around him in danger, I wouldn't exactly be fond of him either.
Snape was obsessed and called lily a slur
Snape called lily a slur in a moment of humiliation and after being SEXUALLY ASSAULTED and she, his best friend, had had the audacity to smile at it (still doesn't excuse it tho, it was a shitty thing to do) and he went to apologize after Lily told him to wash his underwear. She said nope friendship over and Snape leaves her alone. He literally just wanted to apologise I don't understand what's wrong with that?
Or maybe it's just me who thinks apologizing to a friend after hurting them is acceptable?
Don't you dare say him making sectumsempra is a bad thing. If a group of boys were stalking me day and night with a map of my location 24/7 and an invisibility cloak just to harass and bully me I'd slash them open anyday.
I'm not talking about movie Snape.
Also stop tagging reblogs as #miaandpotatoes or whatever, they're not your posts. Hope @hospitalparty gets it now
If you think Snape only switched to the light side because he was horny for Harry's dead mom; I'm so sorry you've never had a real friend
