man okay i have gone on A Lot about this ship bc i put a lot of heart into christine and jeremy as characters and i am very defensive of their dynamic, at least in the 3.0 incarnation.

bc like okay i can def see people brushing it off as a one-sided love story esp in 1.0, and maybe see christine as a manic pixie dream girl and/or something for jeremy to attain and save, and some lines i feel could be better regarding that idea. but i think that when you look deeper into the script, jeremy is good for christine.

because jeremy, despite all his issues overcoming it, owns and admits to his insecurity and depression in a way christine doesn’t, because she tends to deflect or downplay her issues, instead trying to reach out to others through theater, and it comes across like she thinks admitting that she “wants things to be easy” makes her selfish. him matter-of-factly telling her that’s normal in VIMH is really important for her to hear. i wish more people acknowledged her insecurities (because we clearly see she’s socially awkward and even bullied like jeremy is) and how jeremy helps her, just as much as she helps him shamelessly embrace his weirdness. jeremy admits to his depression while repressing his weirdness, while christine admits to her weirdness while repressing her depression, which is a good parallel. (michael also has a very similar arc but i think it’s more obvious with him; christine gets brushed off more often).

christine is very empathetic and compassionate, even before she gets to know jeremy she’s constantly worried when he seems nervous, and is the only person to help him in the mall after he freaks out. i think this might, admittedly, cause some complication, because she also tends to feel so hard for others that it depresses her and she blames herself, like after the fire with rich and jake. however, jeremy also obviously cares about her, and wants her to express herself rather than bottle up her feelings, so i don’t think he’d let her drive herself nuts over him. and he’d probably do the same to her, lol. it’d just be a cycle of “no please don’t worry about me, you’re the one who’s struggling!” and they have to both deal with their empathy issues and just boost each other up :)

also i like to think jeremy genuinely cares about her art, i mean if you watch ILPR (particularly the wrol/steph ones) he is just enthralled with her, and obviously he does listen to her in 3.0 with their clever “bowling alley performance art” change, and that’s why he knows her well enough to identify when the squip sets her off, and her autonomy is so important to him (because it’s important to her, as she ranted at him for assuming she would ever want a squip, because jeremy’s arc involves realizing not everyone with insecurities wants to change what makes them unique) that he risks himself to save her, which is a point everyone makes but it’s important.

i also like to think jeremy is genuinely interested in theater (which is canon to the book) because his interest in the play comes before christine even shows up, so i like to think they both can indulge in acting together, and jeremy genuinely likes learning about new things, and christine is a good teacher, i think it’s just therapeutic for them both as jeremy embraces this outlet and christine gets to infodump :)

which leads me to my point that they’re both Very Autistic Coded (and ADHD coded- hell in christine’s case it’s outright canon) and they both really get each other on that front... both know how it feels to get super into something and want to share but nobody ever seems to listen, and how social interactions are practically a chore, but they can just be themselves around each other. and while michael is great i think he struggles to be patient with jeremy (which is something that can be worked out between them; i'm not putting down that ship and i love it too) while i think christine is more capable of understanding how it feels to put on a face for other people, though she does it in a slightly different way.

i once spent Many hours trying to hash out a coherent / consistent deh timeline and it genuinely felt like steven and val and i were all standing in a room pointing guns at one another. (the final result takes some serious liberties with the text.) didn't even bother trying that hard for location, just picked rochester and ran with it.

man, when you really try and figure out and put dates/days for scenes, it really is obvious how Evan just has Schrodinger’s broken arm that stays broken for as long as canon wills it, like ok, act 1 is over about 2-3 weeks and act 2 (exlcuding finale) is just under 3 weeks ( the screen behind lana and ev when the letter gets released says 2 days left for the kickstarter) 

but then it’s implied by Evan at the start of act 2 that it’s been at least a week if not more since the speech (”thanks for checking out the awesome new videos we put out this week with Mr and Mrs Murphy”) and Larry says in the scene where Heidi’s there for dinner that “Evan’s been a great source of comfort these last few months”

BUT

the way Jared comments on Evan’s cast being gone in sincerely me reprise implies that it’s only recently come off, maybe in the last few days, so like??????????

why has post shortening been changed so that, in a lot of cases, only the last few lines of the last paragraph of a post are hidden? this often leads to long posts full of photos or of lengthy paragraphs being shortened by just a few lines, which is kind of pointless.

In short, we believe you may have found a bug. We would suggest you file a Support ticket, and we’ll get on the case pronto. It would also be good to know any and all specifics you can offer (web/iOS, Android, etc.), as we haven’t come across this problem in casual use.

as far as I can tell from my dash, the only characters are winston, taylor, winton's boy and girl best friends, the woman taylor made out with, and axe, but he only exists to have just left the show. it's all about these characters alone committing an infinite amount of white collar crimes while being called undeserving insults and slowly self-actualizing. actually I lied there's one more character and he's called mafee, and he's usually a cool dude but he recently made a real cringe move and nobody liked that.

6. Episode of tv or webisode that defined the year for you?

I thought a lot about this question and I’ve narrowed it down to 3 answers which are posted here in experienced order:

Daredevil 1x10 Nelson v. Murdock - i rewatched all of daredevil with my roommate during the quarantine part of the spring semester and had a blast. foggy finds out matt’s secret (being a superhero, his super senses). the Betrayal of it all. the way they show them ugly crying instead of like letting out a single man tear. fuck. “then again, maybe i would. what the hell do i know about matt murdock?” the cutting back and forth between their present day fallout and their meeting and developing friendship. it’s SOOO much it’s like Specifically Crafted for maximum pain and i eat it right up. foggy: are u even really blind? the show: *immediately cuts to a flashback of them meeting and foggy learning that matt is blind* foggy: was anything ever real between us? the show: *cuts to the two of them thick as thieves and making plans to form their law firm together and matt almost revealing his secret*. matt: this city needs me in that mask, foggy. foggy: maybe you’re right. maybe it does. but i don’t. i only ever needed my friend. the show: *cuts to them starting their law firm together.* also the scene where ben is in the hospital with his wife and we see her forget him on screen. ouch. a lot happens in this episode but tbh i just focus on the Friendship Falling Out. it reads even better if you think they’re in love with each other, as i obviously do. man daredevil Hurts.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars 7x12 Victory and Death (series finale) - the panic in rex and ahsoka as they have to get off this LITERAL sinking ship filled with enemies that used to be their brothers, who had just within the week painted their armor, one of the few things they can customize to express themselves, to resemble her, who they know would never willingly turn against them, and a fucking wackjob killer wildcard. the growing tension and cornering is fantastic. when ahsoka takes off rex’s helmet and he cries because he’s facing killing his brothers. the cute droid squad. i’m always a sucker for non-humans. the fact that they had special orders to kill ahsoka, who was no longer a jedi, from palpatine, meaning he thought she was a threat still and she IS. she’s up there with obi-wan in terms of attachments anakin has. the action is truly epic (though i do have to say the maul ahsoka fight was better). the fact that ahsoka and rex didnt just leave the clones there and they dug graves for them. the shot of ahsoka in her cloak in front of all the helmets painted like her face on sticks will be burned into my brain forever. vader coming down to the planet himself much later and finding and igniting one of the sabers he as anakin LITERALLY remade for her. just the image of vader holding a blue lightsaber is going to be the death of me. a literal representation of who he was. it’s too much. it’s too much for me to deal with. i started crying as i was typing this. also when you look closely you can see his eyes through the helmet lens. it hurts man. (possibly) morai flying away as this happens. man, star wars can be good. 

Supernatural 6x20 The Man Who Would Be King - ok so i know the question said year but man has show really defined my like last two months. as for this eps specifically, im predictable is what this says. i like tragedy and unhappy endings. i like gay angel. i like self-aware narration. i like reflection. i like the moment before it all goes wrong. this episode is the literal point of no return for s6 cas and i want to scream. it’s like when anakin cuts off mace windu’s hand. “but cas, youll call right? if you get into real trouble?” “and the worst part was dean, trying so hard to be loyal.” “for a brief moment, i was myself again.” “wonders never cease, they trusted me again.” “of course, i didn’t realize it at the time, but it was all over, right then, just like that.” “the big lie, the winchesters still buy it. the good cas, the righteous cas, and long as they still believe it, you get to believe it.” “it sounds so simple when you say it like that. where were you when i needed to hear it? / i was there. where were you?” “you know the difference between you and me? i know what i am. what are you, castiel? what exactly are you willing to do?” “i believe it’s what you would call a... tragedy from the human perspective... i’m asking you, father, one last time. am i doing the right thing? am i on the right path? you have to tell me. you have to give me a sign, because if you don’t... i’m gonna do whatever i... whatever i must.” like are you kidding me. not to talk about star wars even more but like. when rots novel said “the blurred line between our best and our worst” hhhhh. this makes me crave a 150k fic from cas’ perspective in season 6 where we see all the terrible things he’s doing for his well intentioned plan and how he keeps digging himself in deeper and deeper until it’s too late. and if i had the skill and time i would write it. alas.

runner ups: billions 5x05 contract (the epic lows of hearing taylor say they wanted to fire winston, the epic highs of 4d chess theory. the shitpost memes i immediately made. did not make the list as i made it a requirement that i actually enjoy the content in my winners list). supernatural 15x18 despair (lost out to man who would be king because i Care Cas, but i will never get over cas going out the way he came into this show; calling dean OUT on his bullshit).

9. Best month for you this year?

bro who can even remember the months. ok i just looked at my calendar and i guess i’ll say may. i finished up my spring semester the week before. clone wars finale aired then and billions season 5 started airing which was a “fun” time. had a job. things were alright.

also, sheila/susannah

i will be honest that i think their relationship could have used Just A Bit More, ie the actresses being allowed more subtle physicality- obviously they cant be overt in their setting but i think even just more, like, attempted hand-holds and such when they start to realize their feelings would have gone a long way.

but as a dynamic? it’s a very classic but very precious story. i think sheila and susannah make up each other’s differences well- sheila is extremely self-sufficient but has never known delicacy, while susannah is extremely delicate but has never allowed herself self-sufficiency. i admittedly think sheila is a little bit of a manic pixie dream girl (just in the sense of being The Key To Open You To New Exciting Worlds), but susannah bringing love into sheila’s life and teaching her ways to coolly and secretly express that love makes the relationship more even. also, i recently read an article about how black women are so often used as props for white women’s development even in seemingly “progressive” sapphic stories so i think it’s a good choice to make sheila the one who highlights susannah’s story rather than the other way around.

im always interested in the implication given the staging of “three failed attempts” how susannah could see through sheila and realize she was just as scared and insecure as susannah was, deep down. i also find it funny how susannah actually gets to find her footing in calling sheila out during “the other one” when sheila romanticizes her self-ostracization and susannah essentially responds “okay yeah well im black so i dont really have a choice” which is probably the closest to brutal honesty shes been at that point (something she desperately needed to utilize against francis who was also romanticizing the idea of being an outcast except his was entirely posturing for clout). and then of course sheila reminds her “you’re actually fine the way you are and social norms are dumb” and all that. i would have liked more time to see their dynamic demonstrated in that song where they actually push back against each other, because it’s the first time susannah actually can push back against anything but that’s just what sheila likes to see from her.

so basically susannah sees through sheila’s facade and i think that’s really cool, while sheila sees susannah’s potential, but she’s really attracted to her dorky mystique. but neither of them can express that bc of susannah being convinced no girl could love her that way and sheila being afraid of vulnerability pushing susannah away and ugh that dramatic irony…..and then in act two we see susannah holding out hope while sheila loses hope and it’s that lovely optimist/realist dynamic that we love in ships bc of how it balances out!!!

also i love their ending, it’s so cathartic and both times i saw it i just started crying because it’s such a perfect world of coincidence and things working out after you think they’ll never meet again…. i think their journey is very ideal and very necessary in a world of lesbian love stories that are either tragic or completely neutered, and while i wish we got a bit more of their dynamic in act one, and more physicality (which could easily be explored further in a revival, HINT HINT) they’re really a beautiful couple.

oh great question and appreciate any snart sninquiries lol but boring answer: no it is not based on any real phone case!! i Ought to be looking things up for inspiration / reference, b/c that’s just helpful for anyone i think, and especially b/c i have no Ideas myself when it comes to this sort of thing, but i’m allergic to doing this smh which is just an L for me, like, i should be doing that for my own sake at least. but even when it’s like “i have a picture that could be a relevant point of reference already saved, i only have to open Files Explorer and search for it” i drag my feet on that, if i’m searching from scratch i might avoid it so hard it doesn’t happen at all, smh

for example my process here was going “okay what color should his phone be. should i add another Grey Thing when his tee & calculator watch are already That” (i think this would’ve been a reasonable choice still) & then i’m like “ugh god what colors even are there” & of course i start messing around with some Blues, which, naturally, i chose to avoid using as much of in this drawing than i maybe otherwise would’ve lol, and the decision to give him any Phone Decor was somewhat spontaneous & hardly a very Serious choice, i am not like yes my hc is definitely that winston would have an aesthetically personalized phone, but since i Am going with that, it’s like, well we can infer he likes Space, so here we go with a moon and planet and stuff like that maybe.....then i had the baja brain blast about any like “give me space” joke variation for when you like space, Outer and possibly also Personal. despite the lack of Real Design Existing, this one is still basically what i was thinking of, the readable text with some sort of stylized / geometric Space Objects scattered around

like again i Ought to be looking stuff up and/or like, saving references/inspiration type pics for future occasions, because i am also always having the experience like, oh once again there’s an opportunity to draw winston wearing a tee with a design, but i can’t actually think of anything lmao, and yknow in all of this it doesn’t help that we’ve still only seen So Many tees ft. designs or other manifestations of his personal choices / preferences, like oh okay great he seems to like to keep his desk clear in contrast with his [immediate personalizing of desk space] new deskmate, unless he’s going ham on a project for days at a time possibly in which case he might have drinks / food around, hard to extrapolate like “what aesthetic choices might he make in a totally personal space / context” lol. but yeah in this case it was like, well, it’s a go-to that he likes Outer Space, why not add the “and back off too XD” element for kicks lol
