this is too much to be in just the tags. okay here we go
i think that alonzo was a street cat for a good portion of his life. he has no memory of parents or anything though, and he only survived by hiding away & also begging humans for scraps (theyre how he got his name after all)
i think he strongly dislikes humans; he probably saw some horrible things happen out there tbh. he doesnt make fun of others for being housecats but he IS the type of guy to make his opinion known. every cat is well aware he dislikes them
gus & bustopher jones were the first cats ever to show him kindness, but he REFUSED to come to the junkyard because alonzo didn't think he needed help
hes very socially inept tbh...growing up with no friends, all foes kinda messes with you a little bit. hes not shy, he just learned cat social etiquette a lot later in life? (he eventually got to the junkyard after a cat fight with macavity btw
i think he was very confused by the tribe . at first. he was like "what do you MEAN you guys have a patriarch who can SEND cats to the HEAVISIDE LAYER ?????" and probably forgot to bow/yield to old deuteronomy for a while . hes gotten the hang of it though. he probably doesn't fully feel like he counts but whatever
he flourished in the junkyard though. he was always wearing a confident exterior but now that hes not struggling to survive, his personality really showed . he became especially cocky (which he always used as a coping mechanism. tbh, its probably the only reason he survived on the streets)
yk those posts that are like "when you try to be cool and mysterious but end up oversharing" thats him. he doesnt talk a lot but its amazing how much he can overshare in like two sentences
speaking of confusion, i feel like he picked up the protector role gradually. he met munkustrap while he was still training and he was kind of taken back by the fact that there was only one protector, so when he got to the junkyard, he started following munkustrap on patrol. other cats eventually noticed and joked about him being the second protector, and as alonzo continued to patrol & fight alongside munk, it just kind of became a Thing!
he likes validation a LOT btw. he will try so hard to earn it, he just likes hearing that hes doing a good job! he especially likes validation from munkustrap. alonzo thinks that other cats doubt his abilities (just based off of the things they say to him, like for instance cats asking him where munkustrap is while alonzo is patrolling, which isnt neccesarily doubting him but he is so Unconfident he takes it the wrong way) but i think he doesnt get these vibes from munk! he feels comfortable knowing that munkustrap sees him as capable; alonzo struggles with feeling inferior at times so the fact that he can walk alongside munkustrap makes him feel like an equal
i cant fit monochromatic siblings into my hcs. at LEAST biologically anyways. but it wouuld be cute if misto & victoria as kittens clung to the only cat in the junkyard that looked like them! (bustopher jones is their uncle but he is a bit scarce as we know). alonzo doesnt know what to do with kittens but he did make an exception for them
im tryinf to not mention my ship because i do ship alonzostrap and idk if op does. idk i feel like they would end up a couple gradually.!!!!!!! alonzo used munkustraps den "temporarily" until he could "heal up and go back to the city" but he never leaves. they become like room mates and besties and then eventually they start snuggling because its cold and then one day they kiss or something. but they dont talk about it until like two months later.
random things:
-he has a lip scar from a cat fight he had as a kitten. i love drawing him with scars
-hes a big tomcat, so hes a little Imposing at times. hes still shorter than munk & tugger though, just a little (theyre maine coon mixes)
-he wasnt imposing or even remotely percieved as a Threat when he first came to the junkyard though. he was all skin and bone
-he used to eat from the trash, so he is remarkably unpicky when it comes to food
-hes the more strict protector of the two; he says "no" more & questions cats a lot
-he can be a rather smooth talker, but after a certain point he will become a mess. stuttering and stammering everywhere
-him, misto & victoria have long conversations in some kind of sign language, because victoria is hard of hearing
-hes more of a listener. he could literally sit in silence forever and listen to someone (which is USUALLY munk) go on
I need y'all
(If you want)
To drop your Alonzo head cannons
I've been thinking about him a lot
And non replica Alonzo's are welcomed

Note
What is your favorite thing about each person you roleplay with?
Ohhh OK OK lets go!
@corico-mile As Jenny so on character. Caring if a little fussy. But as Alonzo, oh boy. We have had some real heartwarming sibling moments. Mistos been through it man and he has added some much needed sweetness and comfort. And the Cow thread with Mackenzie not only adorable but he was so patient with him.
@mistoffeleeskinnie Hot damn can this dude not only cosplay but RP! So first I want to point out the reason I originally followed was that flawless Misto cosplay. Its gorgeous, I could never. Now for the writing... Having two wildly different characters and keeping their characteristics separate while bouncing between them is a SKILL. Pounce is an adorable bean who you can't help but love and want to protect. (and stop from eating various non edible items). Jerrie is just incredibly done. Funny and sweet, when he isn't hypnotised by Macavity. He's just written so canon. Outwardly being all cool but is actually a sweetheart.
@baconandbuscuits so so so creative! The plots, the back stories, the headcanons. *chefs kiss*. The depth given to Cettie beyond squealing fangirl and adorable baby is so good. And let's talk about those OCs. Wow. They are some of the most creative if intense OCs I've seen. I should say it more, but I adore Eris. I miss her. The Tugger bullying had me in tears, it was hilarious.
And the big daddy of them all (I don't actually call her that) @munkthehunk We've spent nearly a decade rping together now, and its great to have someone who is so in sync with you, you can not only bounce off the most intense ideas off them, they make it worse (in the best way). For someone who is actually Tugger IRL, she does a spectacular Munk and Macavity. Having a Macavity that can be both hilarious and terrifying is amazing. An extremely adorable Teazer who you just cannot be mad at I mean look at her. Cute supportive train dad in Skimble, mindless sweetheart in Cori, kind older sister who takes no BS in Bomba. You need a specific character for something she had it and she plays it flawlessly. Creating the kittens was such an easy process too with her and I love them ALL. She plays Jellibean in the most adorable way I just can't. I feel you can always tell when I'm writing for her it just doesn't come out as good?
But of course I would say this, I do kinda have a crush on her. Omg.
@bombas-wife : There has been some of the most interesting threads as well as the sweetest! An excellent godparent for the kittens. I love Tim becoming friends with adult cryptids who teach him and help him and honestly it leads to some of the most heartwarming threads. Baby cryptid learns to make fire 🥺
@falasta Maia is adorable. I love her, so much I couldn't not draw her. I love that she can also stand up for herself. I am so excited to see how this character develops. And as a writer, she just slips into threads and writes so flawlessly its like she's always been there.
@linadoonofficial Your lil Quax is.... I love him and I will die for him. The relationship he has with Victoria is beautiful and I love working on it. True, I MAY be a tiiiiny bit biased here but this is a Misto I could never. I was odd for me to be on this side of a Misto rp, and to remember nobody knows hes magic but when you get into the swing of it, its so easy to rp with him. Its not fair that he can both draw so beautifully but RP like that too?? C'mon.
@whitmerule Why are you so perfect at Rping? How do you balance all of these very different characters and never once do anything that could be considered out of character for them? Its so hard to pick a favourite, because they're all so wonderful in their own ways and extremely fun to work with.
And a couple of very special shout outs:
To my OG Tugger and Victoria: @queen-mischief-fanfiction This is going back some now and if any of you were around to witness these rps you'd know just how good they were. They were an absolute joy to do. I absolutely do NOT go back and reread them.... 👀
To Mistos parents (yup he's got actual parents on here!):
@ask-cat-morgan @ask-mama-ozma
Some of the most amazing work. I love that Cat Morgan gets his moment and a full back story and family. (And it may be time they met their grandkits.)

A Night to Remember: The Company
Fandom: Cats the musical Rating: T (could potentially go up later) Pairing: multiple in future chapters, Tuggoffelees, Victoria/Plato, Demeter/Munkustrap etc. Category: magical circus AU, slow burn Chapter number: 7 Chapter summary: Quaxo and Victoria meet the troupe members, two sets of twins included.
The previous chapter: Persuasion
Quaxo prided himself on having an exceptionally good memory. He didn't need any notes, reminders, scribbles on his forearms or whatever people did to keep track of things, he just always knew what he had to do and when to do it. When Victoria asked him about it (and actually forced him to think about it, not letting him get away with is usual shrug and mischievous "it's magic!"), he realized, much to his dismay, that it was partially in his nature, but more importantly, he was just always focused. He found it much more difficult to relax than his sister did, distrusting everyone and everything. Always knowing where he stood helped him feel better, prepared. He was not the one to be lulled into a false sense of security.
And then he walked into that tent. And he felt...calm. And his uneasiness about Macavity and all the things he had to do before their performance just...became muted. Floated away. He was fully in the present, relaxed, not multitasking. And he hated it. He stopped in his tracks, trying to make sense of what he was feeling. It was reminiscent of what he felt the night before.
Tugger tapped on his shoulder from behind. "Really, Mr. Magician. No one here wants to harm you - at least unless you keep blocking the entrance, then you might cause some mild annoyance and perhaps a few pranks if you catch the attention of a certain duo - so cheer up and move your feet," he winked at the younger man and, without waiting for a response, nudged Quaxo's side. What left Quaxo's lips was definitely not a squeak and he was definitely not ticklish, but he never approved of being touched without prior agreement (or, if he was to be fully honest, by anyone who wasn't Victoria), so he took several strides inside and crossed his arms. Just to make sure.
Victoria was already exploring the tent, her eyes huge and full of wonder. I've never been to a circus before, she smiled at Jenny, rubbing her wrists as if she wanted to touch everything, to truly get a feel of the place. Such a large stage! I can't wait to see this place during a show!
"Still too small for some," Jenny returned her smile, her eyes travelling to Tugger with an unusually mischievous spark. "Just a bit further, dear. The tent is indeed impressive, but the most interesting feature of our show are the performers. Don't you want to meet them first?"
And truly, as the siblings got used to the muted lighting, they saw that there were figures seated all around, quietly chatting and glancing in their direction. It was still too dim to see their faces properly, but some features were very distinguishable - there were two figures next to each other, a man and woman of roughly the same age as Quaxo and Victoria, very similar - twins? Their hair was giving a coppery reflection and, unlike others who seemed to be nervous or at least expectant, these two seemed relaxed, sometimes giggling and nudging each other. Their movements were strangely synchronized. Just behind them, a silhouette of a man with crossed arms could be seen, with an air of defiance. He was watching the two with apparent distaste for their laid-back attitude. There were more performers present, but as they finally entered the circus ring, Quaxo recognized Munkustrap's silhouette near the back of the tent. He was supporting someone, a tall, impressive figure, who was approaching them with slow and careful steps. The humming around the tent intensified.
"Thank you for coming," smiled Munkustrap and Quaxo could finally confirm his suspicion that it was indeed him whose calming aura was throwing him off. He bit his lower lip and twitched in annoyance when he heard Tugger's quiet chuckle, as if he knew exactly what Quaxo was feeling. With a side glance, he saw the man take one of the seats at the back, observing from afar.
As he assisted the tall man and seated him on one of the close chairs, the siblings could finally see his face. He must have been very old, his wrinkled face told as much - but the air of experience, wisdom and most of all, kindness, made Quaxo drawn to that man, not in the unnaturally calming way Munkustrap influenced him, but as someone he yearned to learn from, to draw inspiration. Victoria seemed to be feeling the same way, her breathing quiet and eyes never leaving the old man's. And when he spoke, both siblings suddenly understood why he was able to create this so-called haven for people with powers. It was impossible to resist his charm.
"Thank you for accepting our invitation." His smile was sincere and voice deep and calming. "I am called Old Deuteronomy and it was at my request that my sons visited you yesterday. As they told you, we are a...particular company. This circus originally started as a small place to allow our kind to be who we really are without having to hide. That is the goal we still have today. If you decide to accept our proposal, the people in this tent will become more than your coworkers - they will be your colleagues, neighbors, friends and family. Because of that, you will want to meet them before making the final decision. I am also here to answer any questions you may have, may it be regarding our circus, your powers or anything else." He nodded towards Munkustrap. "I understand that you, young lady, are a telepath?"
Victoria nodded and, to Quaxo's surprise, stuttered in her response despite not using her vocal chords. Y-yes! Yes, Old Deuteronomy. Well, I mean, I can project thoughts when I move...but not read them. So only half a telepath, or one-way telepath, I am afraid...
Old Deuteronomy chuckled and winked at her. "Well, that is still half a telepath more than most people are! Splendid! You would be a great asset to our troupe. And you, young man?"
Quaxo, to his displeasure, felt all gazes shifting towards him. He felt as if he were under a microscope. "I...don't think I can describe it that much," he grumbled uncomfortably. "I can change some things around me. Swap things in their places, make some fortunate or unfortunate things happen when there is a chance they could happen. Or enhance some features."
The old man's expression did not change, but his eyes showed deep interest. "Curious. Some kind of reality adjustment then? That is very interesting! You too are more than welcome to join our group if you want to. Now then, is there anything I can answer for you?"
Before Quaxo could react, Victoria took a step forward. Yes, well...I would like to know - why us? What causes these powers to appear?
"A good question, one that I can answer only partially, I am afraid. The gifts, as we call them, are still a mystery in many regards. There are various type, be it some kind of aura that one can spread around them, or an active ability. Anyone can manifest these powers. However, if a child is born to a parent with a gift, they are much more likely to have one of their own. They do not seem to repeat themselves, at least we haven't seen a single person who would manifest the same trait as someone in our troupe. They can be similar, but always unique in a certain regard. There seems to be one exception to the rule, and that is twins sharing one gift."
The two giggling figures Quaxo saw earlier suddenly bolted up from their seats and took overly dramatic bows, grinning at the stunned siblings. Light finally hit their faces and Victoria took a deep breath at the similarity - both their expressions, their movements, it was as if one person split into two, only of different genders. "Old D. means us!" exclaimed the man and ruffled his sister's hair. "Pleasure to meet you! We are Mungojerrie and-ouf!" he wheezed when the girl's elbow nudged his side.
"And Rumpleteazer!" she exclaimed, returning the ruffle. "And before you have to ask, because that's what every newbie wants to know, our gift is sharing control over our bodies. For instance, I can make Jerrie slap himself! But I don't like to do it, because we also share pain. Also tickling. I hate it when he tickles himself."
"I only do it when you deserve it, Teazer," snickered Mungojerrie and leaned against his sister. "And if you think we're an exception and that not all twins have to share a gift, let me introduce our competition. Because we're not the only twins here. Come on, say hi to the newcomers!" he tapped the shoulder of a girl in front of him.
Reluctantly, she stood up and so did the man next to her. Their height difference wasn't as noticeable compared to Teazer and Jerrie, but their features were also surprisingly similar - the same straight dark hair, slicked back and shiny, the same dark, unreadable eyes and neutral expression. "Nice to meet you, Quaxo and Victoria," she said without blinking. Victoria shivered next to Quaxo and he too felt completely bare under those two pairs of eyes. "I am Tantomile. This is my brother Coricopat. We are mind readers."
Now it was the brother who spoke. "Yes, Victoria. We are what Old Deuteronomy talked about - similar power, but still unique. We are the other half of your telepathy. Except for each other."
"Our minds are connected," added Tantomile, answering Quaxo's question before he could phrase it. "We can exchange our thoughts freely, but as for others, we can only read them. But don't worry, we usually choose not to, as we perceive it an invasion of privacy."
Teazer hugged the telepathic twins from behind. "They are amazing! You definitely want to see their act, people are so freaked out!"
Jenny laughed and raised her finger at Teazer. "And they are very useful when someone, not mentioning which set of non-mindreading twins, steals Munkustrap's favorite mug and we need to find out who did it."
The man sitting behind Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer scoffed. "Not that we need anyone to read their thoughts to figure that out. It's always them, whenever there's a disruption."
He ignored the pretended outrage from the twins, but Jenny didn't let him off the hook so easily. "Now now, Plato. Since you are more talkative than usual, why don't you introduce yourself as well?"
With a grunt and poorly hidden, if hidden at all, distaste, the man stood up. He was taller than most of the troupe members, perhaps with the exception of Old Deuteronomy and his sons, and even though he was young, his face seemed older than one would expect. Perhaps it was his defiant expression that made him look almost pained. "Plato, welcome to our humble abode. I have perhaps the lamest power ever - I can transfer emotions when I move." He glared at the siblings, as if he expected them to laugh at him.
Why would that be lame? blinked Victoria, raising her eyebrows. Do you think my power is lame?
The defiance was immediately replaced by confusion. "...I...what? No, no I don't, I mean..."
Victoria smiled at him with such sincerity and innocence that Quaxo almost felt sorry for the man. He was utterly unprepared for her charm. You have no idea how happy it makes me to finally find someone who has a similar power! And such an awesome one at that! When you give people words, you still need to rely on them to interpret them. But you - you can make people feel things! That is incredible!
Old Deuteronomy burst into laughter and so did a few performers around the stage. "See, Plato? We kept telling you and you did not believe us. Perhaps this admirable young lady will finally make you change your mind?"
And with that, the atmosphere in the tent changed. The reluctant acceptance transformed into excitement - finally, a new arrival! Apparently, there were only a few people who joined the circus in the last years, so Quaxo and Victoria were considered a breath of fresh air. And the siblings shook hands, talked, but mostly listened and learned about the people who, if they wanted them to be, would become their new family.
They learned (from Jenny because the man could not be bothered to tell them himself) that Tugger was able to bend people to his will, although he wasn't able to control it, he did it subconsciously. "He doesn't like to talk about it," she teased, watching the rebellious man giving her an evil glare, "because he still hasn't found out how the gift works. The ones who were around him since he was young build some sort of an immunity, or at least awareness when it starts happening so we can fight it. You have no idea how long it took us to make him eat his vegetables when he was a child. His gift mostly works on people he doesn't live with, or at least that meet him sporadically - those can't resist it. Or that's what we thought until last night," she giggled and winked at Quaxo. "Still, it has its merits. He has one of the most unique acts in the circus, as you'll see. And my power? I am afraid it's nowhere as interesting, dears - I can transfer intent. Basically, if you mean no harm to a person and they still don't believe you, I can persuade them by making them feel what you feel towards them."
There was Alonzo, a man with a curious pigment spot over his entire left eye socket. He casually greeted the siblings and mentioned his gift - the marked eye could see several seconds into the future, sometimes even longer. He used to work as a fortune teller at fairs before joining the circus and took over the knife-throwing act. His gift made sure he'd never harm his assistant.
Munkustrap also approached them with a wide smile and, seeing Quaxo's posture, forced himself to relax and eased the calm aura. He explained that his gift was calming people in his vicinity, no matter how agitated they were. As he was in charge of keeping the troupe functional and in good spirits, he sometimes went a bit overboard, especially when he was nervous and expected trouble. "Not that I expected trouble from you," he quickly added when he saw Quaxo staring daggers at him, "but whenever there is a newcomer, people can get nervous."
And when it came to being nervous, no one was as jumpy as a certain young woman was. Demeter was also a newcomer and apparently, she had some very bad experience. She didn't talk to the newcomers much, mostly just nodded and didn't leave her friend Bombalurina's side. Munkustrap politely mentioned that it would be better to talk to both of them later, as crowds made Demeter feel uneasy. Nodding at Bombalurina, she took her friend's arm and led her out from the tent.
There were many more new faces and names and even more mentioned, such as Bustopher Jones, the circus's patron who only stopped by once or twice a week, as his gift made him easily overwhelmed - he read emotions and senses, but unlike the telepathic twins, he could not switch his power off and would often seek solitude, just to quiet his mind.
After the conversations have quieted down and everyone said their hopeful goodbyes, the siblings were left alone with Munkustrap and Old Deutoronomy. Quaxo was pretty sure Tugger and Jenny were still lurking somewhere in the tent's shadows, but he found it difficult to focus on anything but the old man. "Now, my young friends - we do not ask you to decide immediately, we know that it is a significant change of your lifestyle. Think it over, you have every right do so
So what do you think? Victoria asked on their way home. Quaxo didn't need to ask her for her opinion, she was never able to hide her excitement - she was giddy and radiated such happiness that Quaxo hasn't seen in months.
"I think they were...nice," he admitted reluctantly. "Also pretty interesting. Sometimes creepy," he admitted when he remembered Coricopat and Tantomile. "Are you thinking of joining them?"
I would love to, Victoria admitted, but her smile wavered. I mean, they were such nice people! And interesting too, as you said. But...I would never join without you, brother. I don't want a new family if you're not in it.
Quaxo grabbed her hand and squeezed it. "Me too, sis. Let's talk to our boss tomorrow and see what he can do about our contract, what do you say? Perhaps it's time for us to move on."
-----
I am running out of excuses to give for my slow updates. The only thing I can say is that I love hearing from you guys, I have many ideas for the story but unfortunately life is getting in way of everything, to provide a very short explanation, one of my family members got a cancer relapse and my mother is not doing so well. I try to spend more time with her and support her, but it doesn't leave me in the best state for writing. Thank you everyone who read so far and who hasn't given up on the story yet, you mean more to me than I can describe. This chapter was mostly character introductions and exposure, hopefully there will be some action in the next ones.

Note
Mungojerrie and Demeter for the ask thing!
Oh, awesome--let’s do this!  Starting with Mungojerrie...
Why I like them: He’s an adorable chaos gremlin with a surprising amount of depth when you get past the comic relief.  I have a lot of feelings about how he left Macavity’s inner circle and dealt with all of the fallout, yet still managed to keep his happy-go-lucky goofball spirit... he’s just wonderful, okay?
Why I don’t: ... I literally can’t think of anything not to like about Mungojerrie.  If you hate any member of the Chaos Duo, I can only assume you hate happiness.
Favorite episode (scene if movie): The scene in 1998 movie where he’s the first cat on his feet to attack Macavity after Munkustrap goes down, fuelled by sheer righteous rage that this asshole would hurt his new family... we stan a brave boy.
Favorite season/movie: Drew Varley from the ‘98 movie will always have my heart, but I also adore the 1993 Buenos Aires and 2015 Tecklenburg productions and their Mungojerries just as much!
Favorite line: “We are plausible fellows who like to engage/A friendly policeman in conversation!”  Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer really said waste the cops’ time and resources, and we adore them for it.
Favorite outfit: Out of all his different looks, I’m probably most fond of his classic Broadway design.  Although the Hamburg design comes in as a close second!
OTP: I’m a sucker for Mistojerrie--let them be cute and mischievous together.
Brotp: I headcanon him and Rumpleteazer as twins, and I can’t imagine one without the other, so it’s got to be them!  I also love his friendship with Tugger--the little fist-bump from the ‘98 video is so cute.
Headcanon: One of the girls at his home in Victoria Grove will read him bedtime stories all the time, and he loves it enough that he actually learned how to read human writing from looking over her shoulder.  He likes sci-fi stories best--his favorite book is Journey to the Center of the Earth, mostly for the dinosaurs.
Unpopular opinion: I don’t headcanon him as having any other blood family in the Junkyard outside of Teazer.  He loves plenty of the older cats, but he’s reluctant to think of any of them as parental figures--he’s very “I’m sixteen years old and I don’t need a governess” about it. XD
A wish: I can’t really think of anything--I just hope he’s never forgotten!
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: Yeah, see the above--a production without the Chaos Duo would never be the same.
5 words to best describe them: Hilarious, rebellious, resilient, sweet, supportive
My nickname for them: Jerrie. <3
And now onto Demeter!
Why I like them: She’s such an incredibly complex character that you wouldn’t expect to see in a show that’s basically a two-hour long song and dance revue.  There’s such an incredible inner strength and elegance to her, and she has such a capacity for love.  And of course her singing voice is always to die for.
Why I don’t: Again, I cannot think of a single reason anyone wouldn’t like Demeter.  She is a treasure and should be treated as such.
Favorite episode (scene if movie): The Tecklenburg production was incredibly big-brained for letting her physically attack Macavity twice to draw his fire away from her loved ones, and I’m still emotional about it, my dude.
Favorite season/movie: Kim Faure is probably my favorite Demeter actress, so I have to go with the 2016 revival--she’s just so good.
Favorite line: “Or another Peke’s been stifled!”  The way a good actress will just scream-sing that line... *chef’s kiss*
Favorite outfit: Gotta be a toss-up between the Broadway and Hamburg designs again!
OTP: Demestrap is a Classic Romance that I adore, but Exometer (Exotica/Demeter) is my certified rarepair I have no evidence for other than just thinking they’re neat and should kiss.
Brotp: I don’t headcanon her and Bombalurina as mates, but I do still headcanon them as extremely close.  I also love Demeter’s friendship with Jellylorum.
Headcanon: She and Jemima will stargaze together on nights when neither of them can sleep, and since she doesn’t know any of the human stories behind the constellations she’ll make ones up.
Unpopular opinion: Not exactly unpopular anymore, but that whole “He was wonderful when he made love to me, but I hated him” business about her and Macavity can just... go away forever.
A wish: I wish that more productions would bring her more out of Macavity’s shadow, if that makes any sense.  She’s a fully-rounded character with a family who loves her and things that make her happy--she’s much more than “Macavity’s abused ex-mate.”
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: See the above again--she’s more than her past with Macavity, dammit.
5 words to best describe them: Brave, sensitive, kind-hearted, intuitive, protective
My nickname for them: I just call her Dem.

On the Inherent Chaotic Queer Energy of “Cats” (No, Really)
In Which the Author Relates His Early Affinity For the Musical Cats, And Meditates in Rapt Contemplation On Its Effect On His Own Queer Coming of Age.
Ok, I’ll drop the Eliotian/Victorian pretense. But in all seriousness, this is going to be a long ramble on the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Cats, because I saw the recording of the 1998 Broadway performance again for the first time in probably 14 years and it made me Feel Feelings (tm). Plus a comrade of mine expressed similar enthusiasm and it inspired me.
I -- First Viewing
Tumblr media
When I was 10 or 11 years old, for a brief period after seeing Cats for the first time at a local dinner theater production, I was enamored in ways I couldn’t put into words. I was not, and have not really ever been a theater queer. I did a few plays up through high school, and stopped doing theater in college when I lost interest and found out it would take time away from gospel choir. But there was something about the way these characters moved, the charisma they carried themselves with that stuck with me. Unlike some of my queer friends, I don’t have the sense that “I always knew” I liked boys as well as other genders. As a tween, I felt very aloof from romantic interest except for one long-lasting crush on a girl in 5th grade that lasted through middle school. But as I continue to look back, I do think I felt a certain stirring in my gut for certain charismatic male figures, almost like an imprinting. Early affection and crushes manifested in a desire to be like the attractive heroes I admired.
I wanted to be Mr Mistofelees, the Original Conjuring Cat. I also wanted to be Munkustrap, the unassuming but brave and suave narrator, unofficial leader of the Jellicle Tribe. Honorable mention goes to the Rum Tum Tugger, whose rock star persona definitely exudes bi energy, but he felt less approachable to me. In any case, though I didn’t realize it at the time, something was very queer about these cats.
II -- On the Naming of Cats -- Munkustrap
Tumblr media
Why I felt drawn to this character is hard to sum up. He doesn’t have his own song, his name is only listed in the program. But he does have considerable stage time. Serving as the narrator and Master of Ceremonies for the Jellicle Ball, right-hand man to Old Deuteronomy, and the only cat willing to go toe to toe with Macavity, he had a certain gravitas that I found compelling. He is humble, as I strive to be. Caring and protective of his family, but not overly aggressive. Confident, but not overbearing. He seemed that he would be the perfect gentle lover, someone who could take you to new and unexpected places but would also make sure that you were safe and loved.
On a deeper level, perhaps my identifying with this character was a kind of rehearsal for the years to come. Munkustrap served as both the boy I wanted to meet and the boy I wanted to be. When I came out and became invested in queer community and queer Christian community especially, I found myself slowly falling into the role of psychopomp and threshold guardian for some of my gayby Christian friends who were either newly coming out or newly trying to reconcile their faith and sexuality. I would direct them to apologetics resources, but I think my greater strength was in being a kind of MC who would invite them into a new queer reality, a celebration of the richness of life and a vision of the vastness of both theology and queer vibrancy. In a sense, I invited them to a Jellicle ball.* I would invite them to dance beneath the moon of our shared experience, and show to them that far from being incomplete or broken, they had their own power and beauty, were possessed of “Terpsichorean powers” which would serve as a mysterious gift to the wider world.
The first boy I dated was a Munkustrap. Gentle, but fun-loving. Willing to meet me where I was, but also encouraging me to new heights of intimacy, feeling and adventure. Though we eventually parted ways, we remained good friends, and I will be forever grateful to him for leading me from an abstract appreciation of my queerness to a deeply embodied possession of it that I can now live out for the glory of God and the good of humanity, like a cat has a deep embodied possession of its third and secret name.
III -- On the Naming of Cats -- Mr. Mistoffelees
Tumblr media
“Oh, well I never! Was there ever a cat so clever as magical Mr. Mistoffelees?”
Coming in at the eleventh hour to save the day, Mr. Mistoffelees employs his magical powers to rescue Old Deuteronomy when all other help fails. In the production I saw, he literally flies down onto the stage (on a wire) and proceeds to produce phantasmagorical phenomena and easily conjures up the kidnapped patriarch of the Jellicle Tribe from the place he’s been sequestered. He is flashy, elegant, flamboyant, coy, “aloof” but always fun-loving. Perhaps more importantly, in all the performances I’ve seen, he seems elegantly attuned to some deeper sixth sense. Beneath the playful surface is a deep power that manifests in impressive ways. The show relays his power through the metaphor of stage magic, but to me he also seemed to have a touch of something mystical, spiritual. I felt both awe and affection for that sensitive attunement, and how it was packaged in such a playful personality.
In my own life as queer clergy, I have sought to develop that kind of attunement. Though spirituality is a bit slower and more messy than conjuring, I have received compliments from colleagues queer and straight that I often speak the exact right prayer for the needs of a given moment. I write poems and try to breathe new life into the life-giving stories of my spiritual tradition, my life and the lives of my queer tribes. I’m always eager to come up with an impromptu liturgical service when circumstance dictates, and I draw on vocabulary from the saints and mystics as well as my own love of language and poetry. Playfulness is, to me, a spiritual virtue, and I love to offer inspiring surprises from the depths of the wisdom I have inherited from those who have gone before. When friends (especially queer Christian friends) are stuck in demoralizing binaries and limited horizons of purity culture, toxic theology, or other spiritual burdens, I will often pull a shimmering anecdote from the lives of the saints, or an ancient word of curiosity that opens up a new way of seeing the world. In a way, I’m pulling kittens out of hats.
Ironically but also fittingly, when I kept my queerness under wraps, my poetry was vivid but strained. Overwrought, often melancholy but rarely insightful. And I would pray when someone asked me to, but it generally consisted of generic requests that didn’t really mean much to me. I had to become fabulous and be willing to be in touch with the queer wonder of both my loves and my experiences before I began to really tap into that spiritual current that I am still learning how to channel for the life of the world. I’m still a beginner, and in my day to day life I’m fairly quiet and introspective. Aloof, perhaps. But I feel that my openness to queer joy, queer eros and queer vibrancy have begun to throw open a way to my own wholeness and the invigorating and revival of many of my communities. I don’t do this alone, and I am still learning from my many queer elders and forerunners. As I study and practice and bring forth vision, I continue to learn “from Mr. Mistofelees’ conjuring turn.”
At Pride a year or two ago, I met a Mr. Mistofelees of sorts. A pagan boy, playful and flashy, with a golden voice. He ended up being a bit too flighty for me, but he helped me find a bit more of my flamboyant side by getting me to do karaoke, and introducing me to the queer night life in a new city. In our own separate ways, we both helped each other I think be deeper attuned to that electric queer energy that flows into creativity, presence, wonder and resilience like lightning flows from Mistofelees’ fingertips. We pranced about our respective stages and conjured beauty for one another.
IV -- Memory (Some Thoughts on the Queerness of the Musical, and Some Final Reflections)
Tumblr media
And what of the musical as a whole. What is it about Cats that struck such a chord with my very young queer self, and still does?
To me, it has an energy to it that resonates very deeply with queer experience. It delights in elevated pageantry, but it takes its own internal logic and way of being seriously. There is something about the mystery and spectacle of it that feels like a queer way of being. Despite the charge leveled against us by demagogues and queerphobes that we’re simply decadent, queer experience to me has always been about experiencing a heightened sense of reality, be that in adventure, sensuality, joy, beauty, celebration or pleasure. As the meme goes, before you say we’re too much, ask yourself, are you even enough?
Furthermore, the show is sensual and embodied in a way that many more conventional Broadway musicals aren’t. It delights in being just a little bit bawdy, while at the same time showcasing an excellence in the choreography and visuals that requires a good deal of skill and physical effort. In coming out and coming to know queer community, I began to listen better to my body and to be more comfortable in my own skin. To delight in the magic of touch and sensory beauty.
Finally, the sensuousness that undergirds the show also displays a very free flowing romantic and affectional subtext between different characters. Two cats may flirt or make eyes at each other, but there’s no expectation that they might not also catch the eye of a completely different cat in the next scene. They perform with a subtle erotic undertone that suggests both tenderness and hedonism, but all in the context of a tight-knit community that cares for its own. The fanfiction community for Cats presents a rainbow of different romantic pairings for various characters, and the lack of consensus as to which ones are “canon” speaks to the show’s affectational fluidity and dynamism.
In the end, the Jellicle cats all present a world within the everyday that is deeply queer and fluid, a “thin space” where personalities are larger than life and anything is possible. In this gay and mystifying romp, I was moved to a consideration in the years since I saw it of my own “secret names” as a future queer seminarian and priest (though I didn’t know it then). While it may seem bewildering to some, I continue to cherish it as a tribute to the great mysteries of queer existence, love and community. And that’s how you address us cats.
*Props to my comrade for extending on and fleshing out this metaphor in his blog post.

just a little cat design tutorial/exercise by yours truly
as someone who frequently watches animation and art on places like youtube cough warriors cough, I love seeing interesting character designs. we always need more diversity in design, so I was hoping this could be a helpful little guide for people looking to improve and practice how they draw cats.
to start, here’s the most-needed design tip, imo:
if you take away the colors, you should be able to identify the character.
too often characters, especially animals, have same-face syndrome - where every character looks the same apart from their colors/markings. this is fine for beginners, but if you’re looking to take your art to the next level, you should be looking to diversify your designs.
so if you’re interested in some practice, let’s have a go!
1. download/save this base (free! use it as you please with credit):
Tumblr media
this base will serve as an average cat reference. smooth fur, not too stocky or slim, no add-ons or anything interesting. just an average cat.
2. open it in your preferred art program (it’s a transparent .png, so it should be usable pretty much anywhere! you can/should size it up on a bigger canvas, the quality won’t matter since you’ll be drawing over it anyway).
3. make a copy of the layer.
4. turn down the opacity of the first layer to about 30%. you want to be able to see it, but not enough that it will distract you from your working layer.
Tumblr media
5. switch to the second layer. this is when you’ll start erasing areas where you want your character to have differences from the average cat.
Tumblr media
for example, I’m going to use my design for Rum Tum Tugger (from Cats [the musical], who has a very distinct silhouette. I want to use his costume design and actor as a reference for his attributes, so I’m going to make him slimmer in the middle (I love you John Partridge), keep him smooth for the most part, and leave room for some serious tufts around the head and tail. his eye shape is also going to change, and his expression. [see above]
6. alright, now comes the fun part! on a new layer, start drawing everything and building up your character! the bottom layer will serve as a guide for you so you can keep an eye on anatomical changes as you go.
some tips: - don’t be afraid of big shapes! - add some flair in the expression! - try some things, and if you aren’t sure if they look good, save that layer, make it transparent, and try again on a new layer, then compare the two to see which you like more. - think about your character’s personality as you draw: are they cold? use more smooth and/or angular shapes. are they flamboyant? poof them out more, like good ol’ Tugger here. are they friendly and lovable? try some rounder and fuzzier stuff. associations and shape can take a design to the next level.
Tumblr media
7. delete the bottom layer and make some final touch-ups on your design. you’ll most likely want to draw a new layer over it to make sure everything is smooth. the lineart should be fairly clean and easy to see. (mine here is a little sketchy but that’s ok)
Tumblr media
8. now it’s time to add color!
remember some basics: - don’t oversaturate - if you want, say, gold, tone it down to a more muted gold. same goes for any color. you’ll thank me later. - pick complementary colors. there’s all kinds of color guides for this with a quick google search. - never use straight black (except for lineart). always go to a different color as the base and pick a shade that’s a very dark version of it. for example, for a black cat I’d use a dark, desaturated blue that’s almost gray. it looks like black, but brings more life to the design. - less is more with markings. Tugger may be a bad example, because I wanted to get him similar to the pretty elaborate costume; but you don’t have to put a million bells and whistles on your design to make it interesting and good. simple is often better, as it’s more memorable and easier to look at, as well as easier to draw (especially if you’re animating, oh boy). - with more complex designs, like Tugger and his spots, it helps to have something that brings out the expression and face. in this case I used white (well, off-white) around his eyes and mouth, so your eye goes straight to it and can pick out his facial details better.
Tumblr media
and that’s all folks!
for reference, here’s another design I did using the same method and base:
Tumblr media
for Mr. Mistoffelees, I slimmed him up a lot more in the middle and legs, gave him some little tufties, and went for shorter, more equidistant triangular ears to pull off his original costume design. I also copied some of the makeup design around his eyes, giving a more pronounced expression. (it really helps that people have already designed the costumes to stand out well at a distance).
don’t be afraid to play around! that’s the fun of it, and no matter how many designs you scrap, you’ll be building your skills just doing it. tracing and re-tracing is the #1 best way to learn art - so long as you don’t present it as your own original work, of course c;
so go ahead and have some fun with it! feel free to tag me in any designs you make, I’d love to see them!

Question Time part 1
Recently I answered some questions along with my sister @ask-victoria-pastelgoth about being a twin. It's full of revelations all around.
1: Which is the youngest?
Misto: *points over to Victoria* The official baby of the family.
Victoria: yep and I enjoy it for the most part
Misto: she gets away with murder
Victoria: but I’m not allowed a boyfriend
2: Are you identical?
Misto: Except for the biggest obvious difference, yeah pretty much. Same face shapes, same natural hair colour. *mumbles* same height...
Victoria: but technically we are fraternal twins
Misto: ohh technically.
Victoria: *is not amused*
3: What is your twins favourite food?
Misto: The souls of those who have wronged her.
Victoria: *smacks him on the head* idiot, he is obsessed with Coffee if that counts as food.
Misto: I have no idea what you're talking about *sips from an iced latte*
Victoria: meanwhile I have been known to devour anything chocolate *blushes*
Misto: chocolate covered souls.
Victoria: can we please move on to the next question, I feel like I will kill any minute.
4: What is your favourite memory of each other?
Misto: Vic would go to dance lessons then come back and teach me what she learned until they let me go too.
Victoria: *smiling* whenever I felt sad Misto would put on a little magic show for me, even if some of the tricks didn’t work it still put a smile on my face.
5: Who takes more time to get ready?
Misto: *silently sips coffee*
Victoria: that would depend Misto takes at least half an hour for tugger *smirks*
Misto: I do not! Anyway who spends an hour deciding between dresses every date they have? Ohhh do you think he'd prefer the blue or the-
Victoria: *tackles Misto*
6: Name a common friend of yours.
Misto: We have a couple actually. Jemima, Jerrie, Teazer, Plato.
Victoria: I would say Munk but he’s more friends with our older brother. And don’t forget Cettie and Electra
7: What is your favourite film to watch together?
Misto: *glaring at Victoria* Don't you dare.
Victoria: *smirking* I love seeing how worked up you get over it. But Twilight is the last film we would enjoy together, I got bored. However I would say we enjoy watching musicals together.
Misto: I told you to not! And for the record I did not enjoy Twilight. The whole thing is unreasonable!
Victoria: well I only watched it to laugh at it with Jem but apparently these two enjoyed it only I got bored.
Misto: -alive for all eternity and are 100% completely straight! Theres no way!
Victoria: please just move on or we’ll be here all day
8: Who is better at studying?
Misto: Me. Easy. Next question.
Victoria: hold on you only study when it’s something to with magic
Misto: and your notebooks are covered in doodles about all the boys you think are cute. You don't even have colour coordinated notes!
Victoria: I do when we have a test coming up.
Misto: *just stares at her for a second* next question.
9: Who is a better driver?
Misto: Well, Alonzo doesn't like me driving the car. I can't think why.
Victoria: you haven’t passed your driver’s license, me I’m stuck on learner’s. To Alonzo if he can drive we don’t need to know how to.
Misto: my provisional license is mainly used for ID when buying alcohol.
Victoria: So never
10: Who is good at sports?
Misto: er.... is Alonzo an option?
Victoria: our sport of choice is more dancing.
Misto: I'd say it's not as competitive but have you seen some of those dance competitions?
Victoria: some of those guys train to the point of collapse
Misto: Ew
11: Do you have the same personalities?
Misto: Sometimes. Occasionally she's a spoil sport and ruins the fun.
Victoria: sometimes you go overboard with magic
Misto: So you say
Victoria: and Alonzo has said it too
Misto: Yeah coz he's the expert
Victoria: whatever you say
Misto: *mouths know it all.*
12: Do you have any nicknames for each other?
Misto: Vic, Vicky, loser, Oi works a lot too. Darcey Bussell when she screws up a dance move. The Queen.
Victoria: mainly Misto, magic man, wannabe magician when he blows up something.
13: Does your twin have any annoying habits?
Misto: Hogging the bathroom and the tumble dryer. "Borrowing" CDs.
Victoria: spraying glitter everywhere when he does Magic, changing the channel when I’m watching something
14: Whos closest to your parents?
Misto: *Goes silent, just glaring to the side. Refusing to answer*
Victoria: our parents died when we were young, Alonzo says it was a car crash, we were raised by our Uncle Bustopher Jones until Alonzo found a stable home and job and was old enough to look after us. I never knew why Uncle Bustopher only took in Misto and I and not Alonzo.
Misto: *slouched back, arms folded defensively clearly not enjoying listening to this.*
15: Did you ever dress alike?
Misto: Everyone always thought it was cute to put us in matching outfits when we were younger.
Victoria: but now we have very different dressing styles but sometimes we would wear similar outfits, it always got Alonzo to smile.
16: Who loves shopping more?
Misto: Depends what for.
Victoria: if clothes and music then me, if coffee it’s him.
Misto: And stationary. Don't forget The Cupboard.
Victoria: right sorry was he is obsessed with stationary even though you don’t use most of it.
Misto: But it looks pretty!
Victoria: So does my piercings bit you don’t see me getting millions of them.
Misto: Yet.
Victoria: I’ve only got a few in both ears, and in my belly button *turns from Misto since that was something she got without her brothers’ knowledge or permission*
Misto: someone won't be wearing crop tops this summer.
17: What three things do you most commonly fight about?
Misto: we're perfect and never fight. *grin*
Victoria: yep we’re perfect angels
18: Do you share secrets?
Misto: Yeah. No. Kinda? Mostly.
Victoria: mainly we hide secrets together from Alonzo unless there is something Misto isn’t telling me
Misto: I'd never hide anything you need to know. Or anything involving you.
Victoria: okay Misto I believe you.
19: Which is the better cook?
Misto: Me obviously. Cooking is a science after all.
Victoria: if by cooking you mean burning everything to ash. *smirks* I’m the better cook and my food is delicious.
Misto: I do not burn everything to ash! If you're talking about the spaghetti incident, I just forgot to poke it down into the pan and it flopped outside the pan and the stove set it on fire!
Victoria: at that was one time
Misto: I make good coffee its all thats required!
Victoria: for you
20: Whos room is cleaner?
Misto: I couldn't possibly-
Victoria: it’s mine and we both know it, Uncle Bustopher always said it was like walking into a tornado when he described Misto’s room.
Misto: It's not that its messy. There's just... a lot of notes tacked to the wall. Astrological notes, moon phases, crystal properties, herbs... I mean if I'm doing this whole magic thing I might as well go the whole way right?
Victoria: well you are right brother
21: On your birthday do you have one cake or two?
Misto: It's fun to try making one cake with two wildly different themes.
Victoria: yep it always starts off with us making one cake but then something happens and Alonzo just gives us two cupcakes. It’s still fun though.
Misto: yeah we're not really too bothered about cake.
Victoria: yep it’s more about spending the time as family
22: As children did you play with each other or other siblings too?
Misto: For a while Alonzo did play with us.
Victoria: till he was too busy working
Misto: which obviously isn't his fault. Its just a shame. He's always so stressed nowadays.
Victoria: but we just got told that we are going to his university so maybe we could have some time together between classes.
Misto: unless its his academic studies getting in the way there.
23: What is the weirdest thing you did together?
Misto: is it possible to decide on just one, Vic?
Victoria: yeah we got bored easy at our uncle’s and tried a lot of different things.
Misto: Theres always a lot of weird things around his house.
Victoria: yeah breakable things
24: What is the last thing you did together?
Misto: Answer question number 23
Victoria: pretty much yeah.
Misto: you need better questions.
25: Who is more straightforward?
Misto: *Points with a little twirl at Victoria*
Victoria: *scowls at him* okay so I prefer to tell others the truth but I still tell white lies.
Misto: yeah but you get to the point. It doesn't have to be a bad thing. I've been know to skirt around an issue because I don't want to say it outright.
Victoria: like you’re love for Tugger?
Misto: like my- no! Shurrup!
Victoria: you didn’t deny it
Misto: *gives her a glare*
Victoria: *looks back at him bored*
26: What is your favourite thing about your twin?
Misto: She's not taller than me.
Victoria: that he does magic
27: Out of your twins friends who is your least favourite?
Misto: Electra. She's judges me I just know it.
Victoria: just because she quieter than her sister does not mean she judges you.
Misto: She sits there... glaring at me.
Victoria: have you talked to her? Oh and to answer your question Electra’s twin Etcetera she squeals so much
Misto: She really does. Funny I thought youd say Pounce. You said he was a bad influence the other day.
Victoria: yeah but really it doesn’t help that Pounce,Tumble,George and Plato all follow Tugger like fan girls
Misto: whats that got to do with anything? The amount you bring up Tugger, it looks like you have the obsession not me.
Victoria: look I only said Pounce and tumble and George were bad influences on Plato that’s all
28: Whos better at drawing?
Misto: Do doodles of the person you have a crush on that day count as drawing? Coz if so, her.
Victoria: *blushes* I’m not really that good
Misto: definitely better than me though. I don't really have the patience to develop that skill.
Victoria: thanks Misto
Stay tuned for part 2!

I’m doing this again! This time for Nouvel’s brother!
His name is Vitsaro, he’s a tom and a young adult, a few minutes older than Nouvel
Anxious, playful, shy
He has a human home!
He’s owned by a sweet old lady. She always makes sure that he feels safe. To make him feel safe with being outside she took him out in one of those cat leashes so he could slowly get used to it.
If anyone knows him as nothing but scared and shy, then I think we all would be surprised x3
His best friend I guess would be Nouvel as he doesn’t really interact with the other cats but I would love it if he was good friends with Damus and Tolstoy!
He prefers eating anything he has hunted himself or found in a dumpster as he grew up on the street, but he also loves eating food his owner had made specifically for him by herself
He has a scar on one of his ear as he defended himself in a fight against another cat in the past. He also has a collar. His owner wanted him to have a collar with a bell on it but noticed early on that bells scared him and decided to instead change it to a collar with a silver tag that said “I’m fragile and easily scared, please be careful” (she thought it would be a bit funny as well as hoping that it could help him with interacting with people)
Surprisingly he is very confident when he dances and is amazing at anything that you do with a partner, doesn’t matter if it’s passionate like tango or pasodoble, sensual like bachata. But if he has to dance alone, he is absolutely the best with anything jazz
He can be a bit frightened with magic but it also intrigues him. He has an ability of seeing ghosts and hearing voices, which scares the living shit out of him and he doesn’t talk with people about it
He’s scared that he will lose everything, he’s scared of most humans, dogs, talking in front of people, getting trapped
He’s experienced love once with a cat he met when he was in a foster home, the tom had been gentle with him and made sure he was comfortable in his own skin and learned how to properly take care of himself but soon they had to part their ways and he desperately wants to be in love again. He likes it when they are kind. Doesn’t matter if they are mischievous or shy, he just wants someone who likes him for him and he could challenge himself with (if he’s with someone more scared than him, he is kinda like his sister that he gets suddenly very confident but then he’ll freak out afterwards)
He hasn’t! And he doesn’t know if he believes in it or not because he has seen ghosts of humans and cats wander the earth, so what if they never went up to Heaviside layer and instead wandered the earth as ghosts?
He has a passion for flowers and plants! His human home is filled with them and he can be found in one of the pots when he takes naps!
If he had a song it would probably be called something along the lines of “Vitsaro the Flower Cat”. It would be about his passion and how he’s a gentle soul, shy and caring~
He looks up to Munkustrap and doesn’t really understand Tugger so he tends to avoid him. He does like spending time with Coricopat and Tantomile as then he doesn’t have to speak, it’s like they can communicate without words between them and he loves it
He doesn’t talk about his past at all, so the part when he and Nouvel were separated is a total secret to everyone, even her
I still need to draw him so this is the best reference pic you’ll get of him for now!

Cats OC Questions!
I’m currently in a Cats discord server, and recently, we began discussing all of our Cats OC’s! It was fascinating to hear everyone’s original ideas, and every character is so deep and unique!
So, I decided to create a list of questions for anyone to reblog and answer in regards to their OC. Don’t forget to leave a picture of your OC if you have one.
What is their name? Gender? General age?
What are three adjectives to describe them?
Do they have a human home or are they a stray?
If they have a human home, what is their home life like? If they are on the streets, what is life like for them?
What is their ‘role’ within the tribe, or what are they known for? (Ex: Tugger is the curious cat/rockstar, Gus is the theatre cat, Mistoffelees is the magician, Munkustrap is the Jellicle Protector, Jelly is seen as a caretaker, etc)
Who are their best friends? You can include characters from the show or tag other people’s OC’s. How popular are they?
What is their favorite food? Do they prefer human food or something they’ve hunted?
Do they have any accessories? Scars? Why or why not?
What style of dance do they work best in?
Do they have any sort of magic? Do they fear magic?
Any fears?
Do they believe in love? If so, what is their “type” and how do they act when they are in love? If not, then why?
Do they personally know anyone who has gone up to the Heaviside layer? Do they believe in the Heaviside layer?
Any passions or hobbies? (Ex: Dance, hunting, etc)
If a song was sung about them at the Jellicle Ball, what would it be about?
What are their thoughts on some of the main characters in the show? (Ex: Tugger, Munk, Jenny, you get to choose!)
Do they have any secrets they are hiding?
That’s it for now! Stay tuned, I’m going to make a list of questions revolving around the characters backstory/lore in the future, these were just fun bits of trivia about your character!
