thank you for this. because i agree. i've attended three rituals now (2 popia ones + skeletour this year) — it does feel different, even if the magic's still working. i mean, ritual recordings were precisely what got me to impulsively buy my first ticket because they showed just how different those concerts were (more an actual ritual-stage show-ceremony-gathering than just a concert). felt nice not to worry about taking pictures but also, i dont think i would have felt quite the same if it was my first ritual.

edit for clarity: i like the creature so much i just ended up making my own headcanons about him. still, not as fun as when we had copia acting like his goofy little self in official materials.

I think people think perpetua is a ‘nothing’ character because most people aren’t able to actually see him in action and take in his personality

Like yeah, we have what people that did go tell us what happens but that’s very different than seeing a clip or seeing him in person

And I take what everyone says with a grain of salt. Mostly because when everyone was screaming about him showing bush it just ended up being his happy trail so like…

What he smells like: i imagine he smells like dust?? and grass?? i assume he cant really get smells out of his fur but he also likes rolling around in grass so he just lives like that most of the time His fave smell: for sure fresh baked stuff, doesnt really matter too much what it is but he’s got a softspot for bread,, ive always assumed his owner is like, a really old woman who has knitting and stuff everywhere and bakes with her grandkids so i assume he enjoys being there for that haha (also the smell seeps into his fur which is nice, but thats more of a treat haha) Pajamas: on the one hand, sexy grey sweatpants munku,,,, on the other hand, cheesy and ugly as all fuck ‘worlds best dad’ pj set that he got from someone who is definetly not his child,, like mungojerrie or something Fave ship: okay so i love shipping him with dem, but i think her and bomb are so fucking strong smh, and i like him with alonzo, but him and cassandra are too powerful,, so im gonna say skimble?? and a cute headcanon is that i think munku is only at the junkyard at night, and skimble is on the train at night, so they meet up twice a day like ships passing as they both go do their thing Fave friendship: munku + bomb + dem,, or munku + tumble?? and since i never talk about munkustrap and tumblebrutus, their cute hc is that they always seems to end up having really important talks twith eachother, like the sorta talks you have at 2am outside in the cold at a weird glass table after an event?? you know the sort?? yeah i assume they have alot of them and tumble is someone that munkustrap can be really sincere with about his problems because tumble has his shit together and munku isnt worried hes giving him for then he can handle like he sometimes is with dem or bomb Song: roxanne,, specifically the moulin rouge cover,, it always makes me think of angsty thoughts about child munk and tugger when griz left wishing she had’ve just been more honest?? but ive emotionally re-contextualized the song to hell and back riip Animal: i feel like im legally obligated to say cat,, but if i had to pick somthing else id say plover,, theyre a really chill bird, they dissapear for most of the year and then suddenly bam! there everywhere and theyre all raising babys that are fucking adorable and they just sorta hang out in car parks?? Sleeping position: for a more cat version, i assume he sleeps in a real classic little circle of cat, and as a dude i imagine he sleeps super normally, but i also think hes super fucking noisy while he sleeps, he just has stuff to say aye Fave drink: strawberry milk or juice from those cups of sliced fruits (also unsoliced hc but i think he has convinced the kittens that fruit cups dont have juice, because he chugs it first, and the other adult cats are just letting him live that lie) Gift: can it be just like,, a coupon for 1 good day,,, cause he seems like he needs it sometimes,, just in case of emergencys he can pull out the good day card and nothing bad can happen

As an aside to the Victoria Is Deaf And/Or Mute hc that I've seen quite a bit of and honestly like: When Tugger started going out with Misto the First thing he did was learn sign language so he could talk to Vic. He kind of sucked for a long time but as soon as Victoria learned he was trying she told Misto to keep him.

Jelly, despite being in the Mom Age Group, is incredibly cool and often hangs out with the younger cats (Dem, Bomba, Munk etc... not necessarily the kittens, she has to maintain the Authoritative Adult role with them) and it's not uncommon that she'll pull absolutely wild knowledge seemingly completely out of her ass and just casually say she learned it when she was younger... if Jerrie and Teazer knew this they'd never leave her alone, but thankfully they're still in the dark. It's weird until you remember she comes from a family of actors and was probably a third or fourth generation theater kid...

Ok this one is one I've had Forever and I've written it into fics but never really talked about it:

Magical cats all have black eyes. It's not... exactly genetic, just a physiological side effect of a cat's body working with the magic it has to contain. They're very distinctive and hard to hide (even with magic) but unless one is acquainted with the telltale signs of magic they're just a bit unsettling. Macavity has them, Misto has them..... and it's one of the reasons Jemima's magic was such a shock, because she inherited Demeter's brightly colored eyes. Her magic isn't strong enough to unlock that particular gene.

(To clarify: it's not genetic as in it's based on magic and doesn't necessarily pass from parent to child. It IS a result of the magic mixing with/causing a reaction in the cat's dna, hence why a certain amount is needed to trigger the reaction)

Electra wasn't born into the tribe. She was orphaned at a very young age, miles and miles away. Skimble found her, and upon confirming she had no family (either feline or human) and that she was struggling at it was, he brought her back to the Junkyard and she was raised by the tribe at large.

On a (very) similar note Jerrie and Teazer were not born into the tribe, and they didn't grow up there. They lived on the streets for most of their lives. Macavity wasn't the only criminal they worked for and they weren't exclusively in organized crime, they did what they had to do and took any jobs they could to survive, since they didn't have humans yet either. They stumbled into the Junkyard in late adolescence/early adulthood (so not too too long before the Ball we see in the show) and they were forcibly adopted into the tribe. They resisted at first because they had major trust issues, but they got over those and they're happier for it.

Lots of dogs and cats do live in harmony together, but mostly in their human homes, so stories like that of the Rumpus Cat are far more common than those where dogs and cats side with each other.

Demeter likes to watch people paint.  It’s relaxing for her.

Making Ocs is my coping mechanism, so picking a favourite is hard.

I would say Minashti is the one I'm more emotionally attached to because she's based on my late cat 🙁

My first Oc, however, was Fyoniria, based on my current cat. My first original Oc was Sunavia.

And now I have 11 Jellicle Ocs. Who would have thought.

Blue: what do you do when you’re sad? I usually listen to music and try to be by myself if my boyfriend or best friends aren't available to talk. Or I write to distract myself. 

What are some things you do when you can’t sleep? I think about stories I want to write or come up for plots for a prompt. It usually relaxes me and I fall asleep.

What was the best (non-romantic) night you’ve had? Usually, my best nights involve me talking to my long distance best friend (let's call him Phantos)!

What kind of covers do you have on your bed? I have three blankets (a pink and gold one, one with my real name on it and a red plaid one I got from my mom for Christmas).
