I first heard about filling out your gender as "n/a" as a joke, but now it's also genuinely my favorite way to mark my gender. unironically. for a lot of reasons. i actually use that to fill out forms accurately whenever I can. so whenever I see people make jokes about doing that (which I support! it's funny) I have a private laugh because I actually legitimately do it on purpose

Yeah so my courier Null isn't actually the original courier six, she just took her mom's place after she died. Nix was a raider, had Null as a teen and decided to drop her gang to become a courier. She wasn't very present in Null's life and had no intention of cleaning up her act despite not explicitly being a criminal anymore. Basically just dropped her kid off with her ex-raider pals and went on her merry way in the Mojave. (Yay free child care!)

Wanted to post them because they're related to what I've been talking about with what makes someone aro or ace and how it is to live out being those things and because the exploring aspect of this is really underappreciated in fandom imo, both in the context of exploring the character and the character exploring themself. The nulls are such a great example of this because of their Situation, there's so much stuff they know about the world and so much they don't. The idea of them trying things out and it working or not working or working in an extra twisted way feels comfortable and likely. It's messy being anywhere on the aroace spectrum, especially when they live in a society that (I'm assuming) doesn't really know where to place those things

Null is not Aware. in general. However funny as that answer is this really did make me think so I'll try to answer it real style too shdhds

Null doesn't remember anything before the last 2 years or remember how they came about. Someone existed prior to that, now that person does not exist in living memory anymore, and Null is-not in her place. I don't think it has a concept of its age...? Since it only recently has developed a concept of being a thing that is alive, due to having been killed before. Null has very little internal dialogue that doesn't surround the feeling of hunger and emptiness and schemes to fill it, and no sense of identity to speak of outside of that, so the sense of being abnormal compared to most humans doesn't register with them much. However, by now they've probably realized that most people have a birthday and parents and a childhood, and from very early on they realized people like it when they appear to be like Most People.

So, if you asked Null about its background, you'd probably get a patched together mix of the information of others that it's heard and filed away. It wouldn't take an especially careful ear to realize that none of it adds up. References to moving from the Surface at age 18 clash with anecdotes of living in the Neath as a child, and if pressed for an age you'd swear you heard tell of a birthday party they hosted with a number that exceeded the one they just gave you. If you are positioned to be talking to Null, you are probably either too polite or too disinterested to pry. ...Or too confused. Most likely too confused.

(...or it will make you want to talk to them more to find out what's going on. Bad idea, overall.)

experiencing some kind of mystery right now that i would love the internet's help with

this is my favorite tee shirt. it's cropped but oversized (i got it big on purpose), made of some really light material like cotton or something. i bought it from a Kohl's department store around 2019. i had for all the world assumed it was legit, because why would Kohl's be selling fake shirts?

i cannot find this shirt anywhere. Levi's has never, to my knowledge and research, used this font in marketing. The tag on the shirt has long since faded, given that it was also screen printed, and anyways the shirt is thin enough that it a ton of holes have torn open along the shoulders and neck, so i have no clue what the material is or where it was made. my friend has found exactly two versions of this print on other shirts, one with no logo and text at the bottom, and one verbatim but on a clearly different shirt. my own image search brought up no exact matches at all.

the print is nice, but what i really like is the fabric. it's super soft and breathable. so i have two questions; does anyone know where the fuck this shirt came from, and how Kohl's came to sell a run of evidently fake Levi products? and two, does anyone know what this shirt is actually made of and where i can find more? i don't want to throw it out or cut it up, because it's just so damn comfortable, but the holes are genuinely massive. it looks like i pulled it out of the trash so i think its time to get a new one...
