Yan!Android × Creator!Darling- I just can't get it out my mind... like, you created them. You're ✨️god✨️
I can keep going on this idea for a looong time, maybe next time haha
My English might not be the best, not my native language :D May I be the ⚜️Anon?
Wired Heart
Yandere Android X NON-BINARY Creator [Scientist] Reader
Part 1 <3
Guys big shout out to whoever wrote this ask cause it was one of the first asks I got and I kept postponing it, i love this ask smmmmm i hope its up to your expectations😭😭 and of course you can be ⚜️anonnnn IT TOOK ME FIVE WHOLE MINUTES TO FIND THIS EMOJI!!!!
Tumblr media
The whirring of the machinery snapped you out of your thoughts.
Who knew building such an intricate and sophisticated robot took so long?
Sitting before you on your laboratory table was a beautiful android, so gorgeous it almost surprised you that you were its creator. Its jet black hair was soft to the touch, a lean yet muscular frame and those glowing red eyes.
You smile to yourself, hands on your hips as you admire your own creation; he was indeed beautiful.
‘Time to turn it on! Im so excited!’ You thought to yourself, wiping the sweat of your forehead.
You brought your finger to its power button, taking a deep breath before pressing it promptly.
Its bright red eyes opened immediately, you stared at it excitedly as it adjusted to its controls.
“Greetings Master. It’s lovely to finally meet you.” The AI spoke, smiling gently as its smooth voice filled the room.
“Hello Xander, the feeling is mutual.” You smile and can’t stop revelling in the glory of bringing to life such an intricate robot.
Xander was an amazing assistant for you, always there to help with any duty assigned to him. His features, expressions and ministrations were so life-like, sometimes you felt as if the robot in front of you was real.
He was the first prototype for the business you were aiming to start: a company which sold human-like AI to act as partners for lonely people.
An inquisitive idea you were taking advantage of since, let’s face it, millions of people craved a partner in this world.
Your robots would do everything a real partner would do: shower them with affection, spend quality time with them and basically ensure the customer doesn’t feel like it was a robot.
Weeks passed, you felt weary. There was always this feeling in your stomach; something was wrong. You felt a pair of eyes piercing through your skull all of the time. Your creation had been acting weird recently; almost as if it became a sentient being.
Xander would want to be with you 24/7, he would ask constant questions in regards to where you were going, who you were with and how long you were going to be; it became immensely suffocating.
Even your friends and family commented on the nature of your robot, that he seemed more than just your AI helper. They said at time it seemed as though he actually was your real human boyfriend—you kept brushing it off, but the truth of the matter was that you were questioning Xander’s intentions too.
Your robot did take care of you so well: cooking for you, cleaning for you, nursing you back to health when you were sick and tending to your every beck and call.
But you felt uneasy, his touch would linger on you for far too long—not a random touch but one of longing. The way his eyes would follow your every move with were a sense of affection. It was scary.
And thats why you took the long-awaited decision to terminate Xander—it broke your heart to do this, but Xander was taking control of your whole life.
You swallow as you walk into your workspace, looking at Xander on charging. His eyes were closed, hiding that crimson gaze of his. Your eyes ran all over his features, taking them in one by one before sighing.
Your hands worked skilfully on the keyboard of your computer, bringing up the data of Xander on the screen. You had already made a terminate control to be used in dire emergency situations…could this count as one?
You turn your head to look at the side of Xander’s face before bringing the cursor to hover over the big red control which read TERMINATE.
Your finger was inches away from pressing down on the left side of the mouse before a sharp pain evolved in your wrist—you gasped in pain before looking up at the cause.
Xander. Wait…Xander?!
Those bloodshot eyes of his were wide open, his perfect features looked tense; as if he really felt the pain of being eradicated from existence from the very being who gave him life.
You had no words, this can’t be real. He had no control over gaining consciousness during his charging period without your authority.
But here he was, his expression morphed into one of rage.
“Master. What are you doing?” His voice was cold, but you swore you could hear a hint of hurt.
You stared up at him, your wrist in an iron grip which you couldn’t get out of.
Your creation leaned down further, his perfect face inches away from you, “Do not ignore me Master, you are hurting me.”
His voice was broken, hoarse and upset; he couldn’t fathom why you would do something like this to him. He had been so good for you, he did everything you asked from him and never let you complain.
Xander felt his chest hurt, this wasn’t what he was created for. But he couldn’t help what was happening to him; his growing feelings, no, love and obsession he felt for you couldn’t be stopped.
“X-Xander you..you…you’re..h-how..” You could barely form a sentence, your brain still not processing what was happening in front of you. You must have just been sleep-deprived and imagined this situation for yourself. Yes..that was definitely what had happened…this wasn’t real.
“Im yours Master, how could you throw me away like this?!”
You had no words when suddenly he wrapped his arms around you, locking you in his arms; being made of metal still didn’t stop his hug being disturbingly comfortable.
You tried pushing away but there was no way you could escape his grip, you had taken over his wired heart; the sole reason from these unusual feelings he was having.
“You made me Master, but I won’t let you get rid of me.” He spoke, his voice slightly muffled by your shoulder he was nuzzling into, “We will be together…”
“Forever~”

BROOOO IM FINALLY DONEEEEE. Sorry this is so short, I still don’t know how to extend this but im working on other stories aswell!! I love you all so much and have missed you<33333333333

Hello! I noticed you were open to any ideas or prompts and I thought of one
Reader being a worker of playtime that was Assigned to help dogday taking care of the children (this happens before the hour of joy) and reader has Cynophobia (extreme fear of dogs) and so when they first land their eyes on dogday, panic
Reader tries to avoid talking or being near dogday as best as they could, Which would confuse and made dogday feel guilty thinking he did something wrong to upset them
So dogday being the sweet pup he is tries to comfort and show reader he's not a bad guy
It's a bit long sorry ^^"
[A/n: I almost feel like I should make this a full series. Just to explore the development more]
He's a dog
Everything is fine, it’s perfectly, totally fine. You aren’t freaking out. Yeah totally not freaking out. These palms are completely dry and your heart is beating at a completely normal rate.
So what if things didn’t turn out how you thought they would? You were adaptable, you could roll with the punches. Even if… Even if the punches were this.
“Alright everyone, we have some new members joining us today!” Says the giant talking DOG.
This. Is. Fine!
You got this as long as—
The dog is touching your shoulder. His voice echoes in your ears and yeah no.
Nope.
Nope.
You have got nothing. Nothing!
No—
~~~~~~~~~~
Your eyes flutter open. Breathing deeply you stare up at the ceiling. It’s a mix of yellow, red, and blue. The paint is chipping in the red part, showing that underneath the ceiling is just plain gray concrete.
Hm. Where were you?
“Oh you’re awake!” The voice was cheerful, sunny even. Looking over you are filled with regret. Standing in the doorway of what you now understand to be a nurses office was the dog. Every muscle in your body seized up and it felt like your throat was full of cotton.
“I was so worried when you fainted. Are you alright? It didn’t say anything in your application that you were susceptible to dizzy spells~” He kept talking, his hands? Paws? His appendages moved around animatedly. You couldn’t take your eyes off of him as he moved closer. His words turned to white noise as he loomed over you.
If there was some divine being watching from above why did they hate you? Had you done something in a past life to warrant such ire?
“Oh dear, you look like you’re going to faint again. Is there something I can help you with?” All you could do was blink owlishly at his concern. Words were unable to come as you stared at him. You were sure you looked akin to a deer in headlights. You watched him cough awkwardly into his fist. The smile never left his face but it wasn’t as genuine as before.
For what felt like forever you stared at each other.
“Okay, um I’ll leave you to rest. And when you feel better I look forward to working with you!” Some of that sunny disposition returned to his face. You did nothing but blink and watch him shuffle out of the room.
He said he looked forward to working with you. The sentiment was not returned but you were sure you wouldn't be seeing him much. You were assigned to be the helper of the unicorn. So you were sure you would be able to avoid him as much as possible.
~~~~~~~~~~
There must be a god and they must hate you. They must find your suffering to be the ultimate entertainment. You had thought you were meant to be CraftyCorn's helper. You could have sworn you were. But no! By some unholy sick twist of fate you are actually the assistant to him.
The desire to cry on your second day of work was overwhelming. But you held it in. Somehow. You had already fainted on the first day you did not need to get a reputation. So you sucked it up. At least you tried to suck it up. It didn’t help that DogDay was so tactile and friendly and inclusive.
You were living in your own personal hell.
“Hey there my happy helper!” If DogDay noticed you flinch, he didn’t say anything. But he did slow down and there was still some distance between you two.
You stared at him.
He stared at you.
A cough escapes him as you fidget.
“I uh need your help with one of the kids. It’s Isabelle.” You didn’t know all of the kids yet so you weren’t actually sure which one Isabelle was. But you nodded anyway and trailed after him. You may not like this but you did like the kids. You would bear it for them.
~~~~~~~~~
DogDay had no idea what he did wrong. He watched the other Smiling Critters with their helpers. Everyone was getting along. It was so nice to watch the others but then he glanced over at his own helper. Who sat with their shoulders hunched up around their ears and a perpetual thousand yard stare.
He had thought that maybe you were just shy. Not yet used to them but he has seen you interact with the others. You were quiet but happy. Talking freely and playing with them and letting the children climb all over you. But the moment he walked over you would freeze up. Any pretense of joy wiped from your face and replaced with a blank look.
He confided in Catnap and KickinChiken that he felt like you didn’t like him. Catnap had simply flicked his tail at him but KC told him that was impossible. He said that DogDay was a rad dude and his helper just needed time.
But it’s been a month and every attempt to get to know you was met with either silence or your rapidly walking in the other direction. He just didn’t understand and it was driving him crazy. Had his first impression been too much? Did he come on too strong when he came to see you in the nurse's office?
He wished he knew. He just wants to be your friend.
~~~~~~~~~
You were starting to feel like a jerk. At every turn DogDay was trying to be nice to you and at every turn you would bolt away or shut down. And he definitely noticed. How couldn't he? You weren’t known for subtlety, especially not in this situation.
Though with the forlorn looks you were getting from DogDay you wished you had been.
“Hey Happy Helper.” You watched as his hands did a lackluster wiggle. He wasn’t looking at you and they just made you feel even worse.
“H...H..” You swallowed thickly. “Hey Bodacious Boss.” Did you just say bodacious? To your boss? From the look on his face he was just as shocked as you. Though you don’t think it was because you said bodacious. Probably.
After a moment of silence with you staring at each other, DogDay recovered first. He was looking at you now and he was smiling and his tail was wagging. Seeing him light up made you feel a bit better. Your hands were still clammy and there was a lot of saliva pooling on your tongue but it was nice to see him happy.
~~~~~~~~~~
“Can I ask you a question?” DogDay picked at the fur on his wrists. It’s only been a week since you spoke to him and boy was he nervous. He didn’t want to ruin whatever this was.
“Hm?” You were making sandwiches for the kids. It would be lunchtime soon. Shuffling in place he took your noncommittally hum as que that you were listening.
“Do you like me?” He watched as your shoulders stiffen. That blank look slowly creeping back onto your face.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean-”
“I’m afraid of dogs.” You blurted out stopping DogDay in his apologetic tracks.
“What?” It was his turn to blink owlishly. Not really sure what to say right now.
“When I was younger there was an incident…” You waved your hand in the air, like you didn’t want to remember it. “Anyways it messed me up and ever since I have been terrified of dogs.” You continued to make sandwiches.
“I’m a dog.” He says rather dumbly.
“I know.” You nod as you heave a sigh.
“I’m.. I’m sorry.” He frowns as he pulls at his ears and he can feel his tail sag against his legs.
“Please, don’t be.” You look up at him, a tight but genuine smile on your face. Your hand shakes a bit as you raise it in his direction.
“I like you. You’re my Bodacious Boss.” DogDay felt his tail twitch as he tentatively took your hand.
“I like you too, my Happy Helper.”
LO King Yoongi, how did Yoongi and MC meet? How did their relationship evolve?
A/N: Warning for injury, blood, this is LO we're talking about after all haha
Tumblr media
You hiss at the rather rough manner the nurse is cleaning the large gash over your back, your tears just quietly falling by now. Neither this planet nor their ruling species do really care much for empathy- you've learned that over the years you've been working at the palace here.
It's better than earth however, since you do have shelter and food here, at least.
You notice how a door opens, and everyone moves away- probably to address whoever just entered the room accordingly. And from the way the nurse closest to you bows, you can only assume who it might be.
"Leave." His voice is the only thing suddenly heard, low and rather monotone. "I'll take over from here." He states, and with that, you simply believe he's probably talking about getting rid of you. After all, you probably embarrassed him to high heavens- you honestly don't know what you were thinking.
It's quiet, the only thing you can hear the jewels on his robes moving as he takes the wet rag to tend to your wound- surprisingly enough a lot more gentle than the people before him. "Do you think of me as a king unfit for his role?" He asks, while he looks around for the needle and thread to sew the worst portion of the gash shut.
"..no." You mumble, voice quivering as you try and control your breathing as you spot him pick up the utensils necessary. His hands are warm against your skin, and you like to pretend that he's trying to sooth you with his touch rather than just doing it to push your skin back together.
"Then why did you do what you did?" He wonders, stopping for a split second as he feels you flinch from the needle going through your skin.
"..you weren't looking." You hiccup, wiping your cheeks quickly before you cover your front properly again. "It.. it wasn't fair." You just say, unable to shrug since you know that would just hurt.
Yoongi simply continues to sew your wound, hand at your front pushing you into a more straightened position, fingers able to feel you trembling from the pain. Did they not give you anything for the pain?
How long can you endure this with your weak body?
What you're correct about is the fairness of it all. The fight had been done, finished as the young man had willingly admitted defeat- just to get up and try to end the King while his back had been turned to return to his throne. And that's where you came in.
Hired from earth as a cheap worker at the palace, you'd been a little bit of a troublemaker all the time. According to other workers, you cry easily, or you'd hug and smile even more whenever someone showed you just a minimum of basic kindness. You're very openly emotional, something that doesn't fit within the usual standard of this planet's ruling species-
but he dismissed it, because down the line, you never complained, and never slacked on your assigned role. In fact, more often than not, you'd work like a ghost- Yoongi had to truly sharpen his senses to even hear you move around in the palace sometimes.
You're not even in a high position at all. You're just a helper that the general staff can use whenever they need you.
So when you jumped entirely out of line and shielded him from the attack he didn't notice quick enough, he didn't really know what to feel at first. In his culture, this is nothing but an insult to his abilities- but you're not of the same species, let alone culture.
You're human, and humans do things that sometimes don't make sense.
"You could've died." He says, trying to make it as quick but thorough as he can.
"..you're more important." You say, shrugging now- and immediately whimpering from it, making the king click his tongue in annoyance before he pushes the front of your shoulder again to make you sit straight.
"Keep that posture or you'll rip the stitches." He scolds, and you just sniffle, continuing to cry. "...I'll order them to give you something to sleep later." he mumbles.
"I have to finish the palace floors-" You start, but he cuts you off.
"You'll do none of that." He denies, quietly finishing your back before he moves to clean everything one last time, beginning to dress it. "You've earned your place." He simply tells you, placing the patches of dressing material dipped in medicine over your wound. He's silently impressed by how well you push through this- he's heard of humans passing out from much less than what you're experiencing right now.
"What do you mean?" You ask, as he wraps the gauze around you.
"You've proven strength." He explains, carefully finishing up his work. "And it's about time I chose anyways." He simply says, fixing the gauze before he let's go- making you turn a little bit, hands still covering your chest as you look up at him with eyes still full of tears.
"Chose what?" You wonder, and he reaches out to wipe your cheeks a little roughly.
"A fitting Queen."
Potato Soup & Other Delicacies
First BG3 fic, let's gooo! \o/ ~1k, Tala and Gale talking about food, bc what better way to make friends? ---
"Turmeric? Really?!"
Tala laughed at the disbelieving tone. "That's what I said! But Lila was so insistent" --a small huff as she settled the lean-to frame together-- "I gave it a try, and damned if it wasn't delicious, even as the last thing you'd expect-"
"In a dessert," Gale finished with her, skepticism still plain on his face. He fussed with his own tent a moment longer. "I will admit, the thought wouldn't have occurred to me."
"Something about the way it interacts with the other flavors," she said, lashing the lean-to securely. The weather was pleasant; this would serve for tonight. "The earthiness enhances them, I suppose."
"No, I know how turmeric works," he said, settling his pack in his tent and kneeling to dig through the communal supplies for dinner ingredients. "I'd think it would be overpowering to everything else in a dish as small as a pie."
"I'm not saying chuck in a handful of it, Gale," Tala chuckled. She dipped her head toward the foodstuff he was gathering in silent inquiry if he wanted help, moved to do so when he nodded. "It's a tiny little pinch added to the filling before you even mix in the fruit."
"Next time I've the opportunity to make that particular pie, I'll give it a chance. Always good to be a bit adventurous, ey?"
"Almost always, at least." She glanced over at Wyll and Bottlen, still nursing some bruises from testing that adage earlier, then down at the growing pile of tubers between them. "What are we making for dinner?"
"Potato soup." Gale passed her a knife. "We have an abundance of the hearty fellows, and some are not much longer for the world. So rather than them go to waste, we have soup. Despite lacking some of the herbs I prefer to include, it will still be a filling--hopefully delicious--meal."
"I'm sure, all your cooking's been delicious so far." Tala hefted one of the larger potatoes, though in her hand it looked rather average. "Skin off or on after we wash them?"
"On, of course." He plunged several of the potatoes into the bucket of water someone had left while they were preoccupied discussing desserts. "Adds flavor."
"Oh, I'm of the same mind," she grinned following suit with the rest of the potatoes. "But I know some who peel them so it looks nicer, or they don't care for the texture. I didn't want to get halfway through cutting one up and find it should've been peeled first."
"A valid concern with all the cooking methods out there. Smart to check." Gale piled the clean potatoes on the rock between them. "D'you mind terribly if I work on the base while you cut these?" He swiveled one hand in a gesture at their companions. "We've a lot of mouths to feed, and some are less... patient about it than others."
Tala snickered. Is this where I make a joke about Halsin being a bear when he's hungry? "Not at all. Potato dicing happens to be my specialty."
That startled a laugh from Gale as he rummaged for other ingredients. "Do tell."
"Fastest and best at the orphanage," she said. She dragged over a smaller stewpot and set to work as she talked. "We took turn with the chores; rotating assignments by dormitories. Kitchen duty was always my favorite." Even if it had occasionally meant being pelted with eggshells or potato peels alongside muttered comments about her heritage. "The cook saw me watching him prep dinner and asked if I'd like to help so I could learn. No one else liked all the chopping so they let me have it whenever it was our turn there."
"And a chef was born?" Gale asked dryly, starting the base ingredients at a simmer.
"Hardly," Tala snorted. The potatoes were half-done, pile dwindling under her skilled hands even while she spoke. "I was in my teens before the cook took me as a more permanent helper, seeing as I enjoyed it so much, and even then... cooking for an orphanage and temple is usually simple fare that's easy to make in bulk. Potato soup, venison stew, roast boar on occasion. My travels haven't afforded much chance to learn fancier or more specialized dishes."
It was only sort-of untrue; the couple times she'd tried to get work at a tavern, they'd wanted her as muscle, not cook. She hadn't wanted to mire herself down for that.
Gale was watching her like he heard the part she hadn't explained. (Thanks to the tadpoles, maybe he had. She kept forgetting about the squirmy little buggers.) "Well, lucky for you," he began, giving the soup base a stir as the simmering picked up, "I happen to have a vast repertoire of recipes, and I'm more than happy to impart my wisdom to a willing mind."
"That part I knew," she teased. With the potatoes all cut, she hefted the stewpot. "And I would love to learn any you care to pass along." A pause. "Soon as we have a better selection of ingredients."
"Oh, pish." He stepped back to let her add the potatoes to the main pot. "There's at least four things I can show you with what we have."
"Alright, now I'm intrigued." She set the pot down and wiped her hand on her trousers. "Considering we didn't even have everything for the soup tonight."
"Adding a couple more herbs if I had my druthers is not to say our stocks are severely lacking," He waved away her droll words with a smile. "I'll show you tomorrow. Do you enjoy roast duck?"
"Who doesn't?" Tala rejoined, propping her chin on her palm to watch him with her job done.
"I knew there was a reason I got along with you." Gale's smile widened. "I'll show you how to prepare one that puts Audrine's to shame."
"Never eaten there, so I'll take your word both that it's an impressive feat and that you can do it."
"No?" He cocked his head. "But I thought you said you passed through..."
"Like most... upper-crust establishments, they weren't overly enthused about serving someone like me," she said with a shrug and sardonic--tusky--grin. "By which, of course, I mean a dusty, travel-stained cleric with more enthusiasm than coin."
Gale's brows twitched briefly toward furrowing before he--as she hoped--let it lie. "Well, you won't need to after I confer this knowledge upon you. For now, however, could you fetch some parsley, please?"
"Of course." Tala swiveled to root through pockets for the herb, tone completely innocent as she added, "Would you like some turmeric as well?"
"Very funny," he drawled. "And no, thank you. Just the parsley."
She handed it over and settled back in to resume watching. "What other sorts of things do you know how to make?"
Gale chuckled. "Do you want them alphabetically or categorized by course?"
Oh, that was promising. Tala grinned. "Surprise me."
“Are you dressed?” Iwaizumi asked when he reached Oikawa’s door.
“No,” said Oikawa, which meant yes, so Iwaizumi went in.
Oikawa was still on the floor, but had obviously gotten up and changed, so Iwaizumi judged him Well Enough To Eat. “Here,” he said, handing him the bowl. “Careful, it’s hot. I've gotta go but I'll see you tomorrow, okay?"
“What?!” Oikawa’s eyes widened. “Noooo, don’t go!”
“I don’t wanna catch your disease, dude.”
“It’s not a disease!” Oikawa pouted. “I’m just ill.”
“…Are you an idiot or is that the disease talking?”
“Neither!! Stay with me, Iwa-chan!”
Iwaizumi sighed heavily. “I can’t. I promise Mom I’d be home early today.”
Oikawa put his bowl to the side and reached forward to snag the edge of Iwaizumi’s pant leg. “Stay! Stay! Stay! St-“
“FINE,” Iwaizumi huffed. “Let me call her.”
Oikawa grinned and let go of Iwaizumi’s hem. “Yay!”
“Anyone would think you weren’t ill at all,” Iwaizumi told him. “You’re very cheerful.”
Oikawa coughed pointedly.
“Ew. Don’t do that near me.”
OR: Oikawa's ill and Iwaizumi can't help but look after him
Oikawa doesn’t complain.
Well, he does – when the injury is minor and the complaints are silly. A stubbed toe or a papercut will have him wailing like he’s had his arm cut off, proclaiming that he’s dying and that all of his friends will be sorry when he’s gone and that Iwaizumi needs to carry him in case he collapses. Iwaizumi would be forced to drag Oikawa to class or help him to the nurse’s office or corral the fangirls who would swarm him with ‘get well’ cards, and he would do it all with metaphorical earplugs so he wouldn’t have to hear Oikawa’s whining.
“This is the real reason Iwa’s arm-wrestling champion,” Matsukawa would snicker, watching his friends squabble over whether a scrape on your finger was enough of an injury to merit a band aid. “It’s the muscles he’s gained from fighting Oikawa.”
This was not strictly true. Iwaizumi’s muscles came from hard hours in the gym – and, yes, hauling Oikawa around since they were little. And genetics, his mother said, but that was besides the point.
Either way, all this goes to show that Oikawa is loud when he’s hurt just a little bit, but when he’s hurting a lot, when he broke his arm falling out of a tree or caught chickenpox or dislocated his knee, he doesn’t say anything. When he was younger he would cry, but he didn’t wail or scream. When he got older, he didn’t do anything at all; the only way you could see he was hurt was by looking at his closed-off, shut-down expression. Iwaizumi knew it well, though he wished he didn’t, and he hoped to never see it again.
That’s why Iwaizumi didn’t think anything of Oikawa’s mystery flu. The pathetic coughs followed by the immediate pouts and whines proved it wasn’t that bad. If Oikawa is complaining, he’s really okay, so Iwaizumi just patted his shoulder in consolation and got on with his day. He let Oikawa cough and sneeze his way through school, allowed him to skip out on the drills Coach assigned at practice, and only rolled his eyes when Oikawa proclaimed he couldn’t breathe and so had to go home early – with Iwaizumi as his helper, of course. He really didn’t think it was anything to be worried about, until Oikawa practically collapsed on him as soon as they’d left the school gate.
“You shouldn’t have come to school, idiot,” Iwaizumi grumped, and bent down to piggyback him. Manhandling six feet of muscle onto one’s back is never a pleasant experience, and when said six feet of muscle is horrendously ill (and uncooperative), it becomes a herculean task.
“Shut up,” Oikawa mumbled. “’M ill.”
“That’s exactly my point,” said Iwaizumi, adjusting Oikawa’s limbs around him. “Hold on, okay? If you fall off I’m not putting you back on.”
Oikawa’s arms tightened on Iwaizumi’s shoulders. “Kay.”
It turned out Iwaizumi had severely underestimated this illness, which he blamed himself entirely for. If, at the start of the day, he’d spotted Oikawa’s symptoms, all of this could have been avoided. As it was, he’d just shoved a mask on his friend’s face and dragged him to school.
“If you have the energy to complain, you have the energy for school,” he’d admonished, which turned out to be true as far as it went, but didn’t take into account the energy required for volleyball and walking home. By the time he’d dragged Oikawa into his house, waved away Mrs Oikawa’s worry as she left for work, and hauled him up the stairs, Iwaizumi felt bad enough about causing this situation that he decided to help Oikawa get comfortable before he left.
“Get changed,” he told the room at large, depositing Oikawa on the floor. “I’ll be back.” He didn’t have great faith that Oikawa actually would get changed in that state, but Iwaizumi wasn’t about to do it for him. They weren’t at that level of friendship, and hopefully would never be. There was such as thing as being too comfortable.
Having rifled through Oikawa’s drawers to find the right pyjamas, unpacked Oikawa’s school bag to prevent him trying to get caught up on work, and waved to Mrs Oikawa as she got in her car, Iwaizumi made his way downstairs. He couldn’t make soup – neither could Oikawa – but he could heat up the food Oikawa’s mother had left for him, so he did. He knew where they kept it anyway, so who would care if he dealt with it while he was here? He threw it in the microwave and started inspecting their cupboards for snacks he could have while he set Oikawa up for the night. He wouldn’t wish a parent working nightshifts on his worst enemy.
“IWAAAAA!” came the holler from upstairs.
“He’s recovering, then,” Iwaizumi snorted, before yelling back, “YES?”
“I WANT ICE CREAM!”
“OKAY?”
“GET ME ICE CREAM!”
“IT’S OCTOBER!”
“OKAY?”
Iwaizumi sighed. “EAT YOUR DINNER INSTEAD!”
“IT’S TOO EARL-“ Oikawa was cut off by a round of hacking coughs.
“Disgusting,” Iwaizumi noted to himself, wishing he could put on rubber gloves and a mask before going near Oikawa. Unfortunately, he couldn’t, because that would make Oikawa complain even more and he really didn’t have the mental energy for that.
Rescuing Oikawa’s dinner from the microwave, Iwaizumi carefully portioned it so he could give half to Oikawa now and leave half in the oven for when Oikawa inevitably woke in the middle of the night. Iwaizumi had been his friend’s nurse too many times to count; he had this down to a fine art, from organising the food and medicine to refusing to give in to Oikawa’s ridiculous demands.
“Are you dressed?” he asked when he reached Oikawa’s door.
“No,” said Oikawa, which meant yes, so Iwaizumi went in.
Oikawa was still on the floor, but had obviously gotten up and changed, so Iwaizumi judged him Well Enough To Eat. “Here,” he said, handing him the bowl. “Careful, it’s hot.”
“No ice cream?” Oikawa enquired, accepting his dinner.
“No,” Iwaizumi confirmed, and re-shouldered the school bag he’d dumped next to Oikawa’s. “There’s more in the oven but don’t eat it yet, alright? I’m going now.”
“What?!” Oikawa’s eyes widened in something akin to panic. “Noooo, don’t go!”
“I don’t wanna catch your disease, dude.”
“It’s not a disease!” Oikawa pouted. “I’m just ill.”
“…Are you an idiot or is that the disease talking?”
“Neither!! Stay with me, Iwa-chan!”
Iwaizumi sighed heavily. “I can’t. I promise Mom I’d be home early today.”
“She won’t care, will she? I like Mrs Iwaizumi…” Oikawa put his bowl to the side and reached forward far enough to snag the edge of Iwaizumi’s pant leg. “Stay! Stay! Stay! Stay! Stay! St-“
“FINE,” Iwaizumi huffed, letting his bag drop on the floor. “Let me call her.”
Oikawa grinned and let go of Iwaizumi’s hem. “Yay!”
“Anyone would think you weren’t ill at all,” Iwaizumi told him. “You’re very cheerful.”
Oikawa coughed pointedly.
“Ew. Don’t do that near me.”
Oikawa sneezed instead, looking slightly triumphant, and picked his bowl back up. “Call your mom and come back, Iwa~”
Iwaizumi rolled his eyes and went to use Oikawa’s house phone, which his mom insisted he did just so she would know he was actually in a house and not out on the streets or wherever she thought teenagers hung out. When he came back, Oikawa had fallen asleep right on the floor, bowl almost tipping from his hand.
Iwaizumi sighed and took the food away, taking a bite himself. “I can’t have been gone longer than three minutes,” he mused, watching Oikawa attempt to breathe through his nose, fail, whine, and start mouth breathing instead. He winced in sympathy with Oikawa’s future dry throat and mouth. “Does this mean I can go home?”
But he’d just called his mom and he’d promised Oikawa he’d stay a while, so he sat on Oikawa’s bed to finish eating Oikawa’s dinner and watch Oikawa sleep. When did everything become about Oikawa? This was terrible.
As revenge, he turned Oikawa’s TV on and put on Godzilla (1954) while he waited for Oikawa to jolt himself awake again, as he usually did when ill. He was half an hour in before Oikawa coughed awake, spluttering a little and immediately sitting up to avoid choking.
“How long was I out?” he croaked, before he noticed the empty bowl and his expression flattened. “Did you eat my dinner again?”
“No,” Iwaizumi lied, and paused the movie. “How are you feeling?”
“Like shit,” Oikawa said, voice rough, and crawled over to the bed, extending slightly pathetic grabby hands. “Help me up.”
Iwaizumi sighed, but Oikawa was ill after all; he reached down and hauled Oikawa into a standing position, allowing him to collapse forwards onto the bed and arrange himself around Iwaizumi.
“Lie down with meeee,” he whined, poking Iwaizumi’s side.
“There’s no room,” Iwaizumi pointed out; Oikawa was sprawled across the whole bed, curved around the one spot where Iwaizumi sat.
Oikawa straightened himself out so he only took up a little more than half of the bed, looking up at his best friend with pleading eyes. “Now?”
With a huff, Iwaizumi lay down. “Can I watch Godzilla now?”
“No,” Oikawa told him, throwing an arm over Iwaizumi’s waist in a half-hug. “E.T.”
“No. Godzilla.”
“E.T.”
“Godzilla.”
“E.T.”
“Godzilla.”
“E.T.” Oikawa punctuated this with another cough, making Iwaizumi lean far enough back that his head hung off the edge of the bed.
“Ugh,” Iwaizumi complained, “That was horrible. I’m gonna get sick from that.”
“Good, then maybe you’ll understand how I feel,” Oikawa said unsympathetically. “E.T.,” he added.
“Fine, E.T.,” Iwaizumi agreed, and got up to change the DVD.
Oikawa hummed in satisfaction, although his scratchy throat slightly ruined the usually musical sound. When Iwaizumi came back to the bed, Oikawa shuffled forward so Iwaizumi could climb in behind him and arrange them so they were properly curled around each other.
“Cozy,” Oikawa commented, which would normally have earned him a slap on the shoulder; out of sympathy for Oikawa’s illness, Iwaizumi just poked him in the ribs. “Ow.”
“That didn’t hurt,” Iwaizumi said, but patted the spot anyway. “Now watch your film.”
It really was lucky that they’d both seen the movie so many times before, since Oikawa’s loud coughs tended to occur over key lines; each one shook the bed a little and jostled Iwaizumi, and then Oikawa would fussily resettle himself and ruin any chance they had of catching the action onscreen. There had been a vague hope in the back of Iwaizumi’s mind that the familiar film might lull Oikawa to sleep again, but it didn’t. It did, however, make him crave ice cream again, making Iwaizumi rustle around the freezer until he finally found some.
Once he’d been equipped with ice cream and Iwaizumi was back on the bed with him, he happily settled in for another alien movie – this one much less of a classic, just a silly, low budget horror Iwaizumi had found while channel surfing. Oikawa was, as usual, getting far too into it, concocting plans as to how he’d survive the apocalypse (and how, naturally, he’d save Iwaizumi too). By the end of that film, Oikawa had finished the ice cream and it was put with Iwaizumi’s empty dinner bowl on the floor by the bed. Whatever ridiculous horror channel they’d found started playing the next film. Oikawa insisted they get under the blankets for this one because he was getting cold; instead, Iwaizumi tucked all the blankets around Oikawa, leaving space for himself to lie next to the roll of fabric that was his best friend.
By the end of the fifth movie, Oikawa was asleep. Iwaizumi almost followed after him, only just managing to wake himself up and start to clean up the scattered snacks, bowl and ice cream tub. Oikawa was snoring loudly, making Iwaizumi laugh to himself – it was rare to see the usually elegant Oikawa so undignified. It was golden moments like these that kept their friendship alive, in Iwaizumi’s opinion.
Just as Iwaizumi was about to leave, Oikawa unconsciously reached out a hand and grabbed Iwaizumi’s jacket.
Iwaizumi snorted. “You never stop, do you?” he sighed, delicately untangling Oikawa’s hand. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Before he could stop himself, he dipped to give Oikawa a gentle kiss to the forehead. “Get well soon, idiot,” he told him, before shouldering his bag and quietly slipping from the room.
Do you know any spells for attracting good and healthy (as in going to treat me respectfully and kindly) friends? I'm having difficulty coming up with a spell myself, as it's been a while since I've done a spell.
Good morning! On reflection I think I might know a total of about 5 spells and none of them related to friendship, so I asked around.
And while the buds had some great links, none of them were directly related to attracting friends.
I don't have a lot of experience in this area, but I can regardless suggest a general course of action:
[Please consider the following to be aligned to my personal practice; I'm not trying to claim that this Tumblr post is the 1 true way to do magic.]
Try combining your conjuring spell with a protection against disrespectful, unkind friends. This protection can be accomplished through the creation of a simple amulet or energetic shielding patterned to that specific purpose.
I believe that magic we put on ourselves can subtly influence those around us. Very aggressive, scary protections can make people think of us as being aggressive and scary. So, protections for your purpose are better off being gentle (perhaps those protections provided by Amethyst or Rose Quartz, or Cinnamon, *maybe* Dill if you want to come off as a bit mysterious and cool, and of course all varieties of common and garden Sage).
Try working yourself into a lovely spell jar that reminds you of exactly the kind of friendships you'd like to have in your life. According to my beliefs, these kinds of jars work best if the are charged/fed and activated.
Any sort of general, basic spell jar format is fine, as long as it's a spellcasting technique you're comfortable with.
I'm looking up resources for friendship and finding very little. Intuition advises that sugar, lemon, and allspice might serve you well. But, of course, anything you like is what should be done. If you like to work with elemental correspondences, consider using Air (communication, talking) and Water (relationships, connection). Of planets, Mercury and Venus might be helpful.
Try working "consumable" spells, such as a candle or incense spell, dressed and treated to specifically attract a respectful, kind friend.
If you don't know of or have certain correspondences, direct energy work can be used to imbue the candle or incense with desired outcomes.
If you're interested in doing multiple spells, you can do both the jar and other types of friend-conjuring spells as well.
Find-a-Friend Powder
I have a lovely copy of Pestlework by @breelandwalker, which is a formulary of magical powders. I got her permission to share the Find-a-Friend Powder formula from that book:
2 pt Confectioner's Sugar
1 pt Forget-Me-Not Blossoms
1 pt Pink Rose Petals
1 pt Meadowsweet**
½ pt Passionflower Herb**
½ pt Cloves
** Substances which should be avoided by those who are pregnant or nursing
Add the powder to a bottle charm that you carry with you to attract quality friends and companions. You can also combine it with modeling clay and use that to create a charm or poppet to be the focus of such spells.
NicGarran, Bree. Pestlework: A Book of Magical Powders & Oils (p. 49). Kindle Edition.
Bree also kindly notes that most any attraction or love spell can be modified to call friends and compaions, instead of lovers.
[For those interested, here is an additional resource list of some of Bree's recipes available for free]
Other Notes:
I find that when working multiple spells towards the same goal, assigning a spirit helper to oversee the operation can be of great value.
This can easily be done by petitioning the help of a tarot card. This is a basic ritual format for petitioning tarot cards.
I would especially recommend working with the Knight/Cups to find a friend, the 2/Cups to foster new relationship beginnings, and the 3/Cups to nurture desired relationships.
If seeking one card to oversee general operations, I recommend the Knight/Cups.
I hope some of this ends up helping! Best of luck.
