The Teal Nutmuncher is part of the most ubiquitous group on the planet Twobean-2, the shell-smasher. They are a group of highly crab like critters that live on the sea floor and have rapidly adaptable mouthpieces that allow them to access all food sources available to them. From kelp like photosynthetic organisms, to other small shellsmashers, to what the Nutmunchers themselves eat with the most frequency, the bivalve like organisms that cluster on the seabed. Shown here are the pistachimussels, abundant filter feeders that bear a striking resemblance to shell on pistachios.

Seen in the background are two examples of the main nektonic clade on TB-2, the Piscecancers. The small shoal on the right is made up of the shrumps, a small species that feeds on the red kelp. On the left in the background is a Suckwhale, a solitary species of piscecancer that feeds by taking mouthfuls of sand and extracting any edible material by pushing it through a set of fine bristles.
