5x14: Eminence

Maul finally got some decent legs

Savage decapitating the whole of the Black Sun leadership with one throw is actually iconic.

I love how fast paced this episode is - changing to different locations as we see Maul and Death Watch wreak havoc.

The Pikes were the only sensible ones to volunteer to join without a fight.

Mandalorians are just so cool! I love how they drop out of their ships with their jet packs.

5x15: Shades of Reason

It’s an interesting dynamic when both sides of an alliance are plotting to destroy the other as soon as they get the chance.

Honestly Maul’s plan is so clever. Once again Star Wars with the political commentary - people will choose authoritarian/violent leaders when they feel threatened.

Maul using the customs of Mandalore to his advantage. Death Watch just stand and watch whilst he kills their leader because of the ancient rules of combat. The Mandalorian’s pride is their downfall.

‘You’re all traitors’. ‘Unfortunately for you, history will not see it that way.’

No wonder Mandalore kept having civil wars - the members of Death Watch turned on each other without a moment’s hesitation.

5x16: The Lawless

This is honestly one of the best episodes of the whole series.

I love that Korkie shows up along with the other students from the corruption episode a few seasons back. I really hope Korkie didn’t die, I don’t think they explicitly say what happens to him.

I kind of love how the first thing they do is repaint their armour red to match Maul’s aesthetic.

I understand why the Jedi say they can’t get involved, but it still makes me sad that Obi-Wan came alone. I think that if he had asked, Anakin would have come with him (he never cared about going against the Council).

I love the call backs with the Twilight from the earlier seasons and the Hardeen outfit.

Obi-Wan looks hot in the Mandalorian armour.

The reunion between Satine and Obi-Wan was so beautiful 🥹 The way she just fell into his arms.

Obi-Wan truly suffered and lost so much. The fact he never fell to the dark side really shows how strong he is. He might have flaws but he truly is a champion of the light.

Satine’s death will never not destroy me. The way he holds her afterwards 😭

The fact that Obi-Wan doesn’t even put up a fight when they take him away. He truly looks defeated.

The end of this episode is SO GOOD. The shot of Obi-Wan with his lightsaber drawn watching the battle is one of the best shots in the whole show - perhaps even in the whole of Star Wars.

‘Maul must really want you dead’. ‘You have no idea.’

I find Bo such an interesting character and I wish she was explored in the series more.

This episode really reminds us how powerful Sidious is. He wipes the flaw with Maul and Savage and reduces Maul to begging and whimpering for his life.

The nightsister green magic mist rising from Savage when he is killed is a nice attention to detail.

I wish they’d had the chance to carry on this story and see what plans Sidious had for Maul. I have the Maul comic so I’m looking forward to reading that at least.

((lol so I’m on this website looking at TCW screen caps to maybe pick and choose to make icons for Obi and/or Satine with, right?

And I’m STRUCK by the looks on Anakin’s face the most, b/c it’s that “wow THESE TWO NEED TO HOOK UP B/C OBI’S THE DAD FRIEND AND WE DON’T HAVE A MOM ONE” sort of look.  

Also, I think we need to rename certain episodes: “Obi-Wan and Satine go on a clandestine date with matching hoods”, “That one episode where you realize that Padmé and Obi-Wan have a similar type: Blond(e)s with no chill whatsoever”, “Obi-Wan is very proud of his beard but hey brownie points for being called handsome?”, etc.
