Featuring:

Jack Dalton, singing to Riley and the girls of the Bradyverse AU, Arista and Eliza May (and playing the guitar because that's definitely something he'd be able to do), with Mac (and Brady), Bozer, and Desi in the background, basking in the music. (This is probably on Mac's back deck but it could just as easily be a similar deck at their house in Texas.) (And not to worry, Brady isn't left out; he's got his own song from Papa in the form of Hey Jude.)

Jesse Swanson, happily singing to his daughter Molly (an OC) (this is sort of Their Song™, starting from before she was even born when he actually sang it to Beca as part of a birthday serenade/baby announcement, then sang it again just a few hours after Molly was born). (Beca's definitely in the background somewhere, rolling her eyes at Jesse's cheesiness, as if she doesn't sing Molly to sleep every night with Flashlight.... And as if she didn't cry the first time Jesse sang it to their newborn there in the hospital. She blames that on the hormones though.)

Zekk and little Jasa, from the Test Tube Babies AU; Jasa loves to dance to whatever music she can find (and she'll make something up if she needs to) and her Daddy is her favorite dance partner!

I actually don't have much to say about this one, the sketches are pretty self explanatory I think. But if you're curious:

1) in the secret good third sequel (a "threequel" if you will) to the 80's Anne of Green Gables movie verse that lives in my head and my wip folder, Anne and Gilbert have many baby Blythes--8, in fact, including Dominic and, notably, little Joyce, their firstborn daughter, who in this version lives because I couldn't bear to either leave her out entirely or have her die in infancy. So she grows up with her siblings! And I Headcanon her to be a lover of all things musical; her main talents are singing, the piano and the violin, but she also loves to dance--and to pull her parents in to dance with her! Which they usually do with good humor, even Susan can be persuaded to do a little Charleston gig where little Joy is concerned.

(also we never learn Joy's hair color as she had none the day she was born and lost, but we know she had the eyes and nose of her mother, so I decided she mostly looks like Anne, save for brown-black hair courtesy of Gilbert. She is the little Lady Cordelia Anne always wished to be.)

2) I hadn't drawn Sea Glass in a while and London Boy called to me, but of course it's not technically accurate-Arion is Kiwi! And Māori! But hey, it's in the commonwealth, so for the purposes of this reference it's close enough 😅 (disclaimer: New Zealand and the UK/england specifically are not the same don't "Coolsville sucks" my ass here)

3) was thinkin' about dodgeball, and the Brady Bunch, and the Brady Bunch playing dodgeball, and somehow that morphed into a Phoenix Family Dodgeball Tournament with Mac, Jack, Riley, Brady, Arista and Eli on one team, and Bozer, Desi, Russ, Sam, Matty, and Jill on the other. Riley, of course, is a veteran at Dodgeball, specifically playing dodgeball while being the "scrappy" or "scrawny" member of the team, so she's imparting some wisdom on the kiddos: stay back and let the adults handle the front line--instead, you wanna hang back and grab all the balls that get past said front line, and feed them to your heavy hitters. Cause a heavy hitter is nothing if they've got no ammo. This strategy is pretty much foolproof btw if your dodgeball tourney is based on attrition rules AND you're less likely to get a ball to the face this way. Everybody wins! (Except the other team. usually.)

Well it's two days late but have some Halloween art! Featuring the return of: the Brady Bunch!!!! That's right, the Macgyver-Daltons are back for Halloween, and this time all of them are wearing themed costumes! Brady has dressed up as Link, the Champion of Hyrule; Arista has dressed up as Princess Mipha of the Zora; and Eliza May has dressed up as the one and only Princess Zelda!

Tfw you finally muster up the energy to write something after, like, several months of radio silence. Whoops. Anyways I'm bringing y'all another ficlet in the Bradyverse today, this time about love! And kids! It's cute and I'm emo lemme live!

Also I've marked this little fic/collection Completed cause for now, it kinda is? I've got plenty of other ideas for the Bradyverse of course but idk what else I'll get around to writing, ya know? So don't assume this is The End For Realsies just yet, but it's probably The End For Now.

@lord-owlsnake oops my hand slipped and drew some Sleepy Cuddle Piles™ and I personally blame you 😂. For my gen lovers, we've got some platonic Phoenix fam cuddles (the AC broke at their respective houses in the middle of summer in LA so they all gathered at Mac's, the only one with working AC). And for the Bradyverse lovers, a sudden summer storm prompted the kiddos to pile in the (aptly named) Texas King Size bed and sprawl out. (Also, while I usually portray Mac and Jack as a couple in the Bradyverse, there's also nothing saying they couldn't be a queerplatonic pair instead, bonded for life without it necessarily being romantic and sharing a love of raising kids. So. Idk man I'm ace, it's all about those sweet sweet cuddles for me, kisses are nice but optional.)

Today's prompt: the Ties that Bind! Aka "the day where the picture is only tangentially related to the theme in that they're wearing ties because I made this art that is explicitly wedding-related but then realized it didn't fit any of the themes so it goes here". 😂

(Also a study in me realizing just how hard uniforms are to draw even WITH a shit ton of very helpful sources from @mutatedsilverunicorn so I cleverly skipped most of it by smooshing Mac and Jack together 😂😂😂.)

This was inspired by a wedding photo I found online ages ago and thought was clever and very Mac n Jack. Note the Wedding Party in the background including a small Brady with a hand over his eyes 😂.

I wrote some ficlets (more to come in the series probably, also that damn wedding Fic is being fickle but it's coming), go check them out! One is a MacDalton reunion fic, I know y'all go feral for that shit (and for good reason!). The other is a Mac Ever After fix! Yeah, remember that stealth crossover with Ever After High that is pure self indulgence? I wrote a bit more of that! Based on a mini Convo with @impossiblepluto in fact!

Also, so that I have some images and Tumblr doesn't ban me from the tag for linking crimes, I also made a bunch of Pic Crew icons for the Macgyver-Dalton's! Mac says Bi/Enby Rights (because he's Bi and also Enby sorry I don't make the rules), Jack says Rock On!, Arista is an angel, Eliza is Babey, and Brady-- bRADY NO!!!

It's Saturday y'all! Just one more day of George Eads Appreciation Week after this! 😭😭 It's sad, but all good things must come to an end! In the mean time, though, it's Family day! And y'all should know me well enough by now that there was no keeping the need for Bradyverse Family Fluff™ at bay for this whole week 😅. Sooooo have some Bradyverse fluff, from a big family portrait on the Ranch (featuring Bozer as the photographer and Riley at Jack's side) to some little family moments with the kids! (Eliza is a rather exhausting infant, even if they did miss the first six months; and who doesn't love taking silly face selfies with Papa Jack?)

At last! We have reached Cairo Day 7: Alternate Universe! Technically this has all been an alternate universe (save for the whump drawing) because it's all part of my personal little AU: The Bradyverse! If you've been following my Bradyverse content (found under #au: canon + Brady) you'll know the gist, but it's essentially a what-if time break based on the scenario of "what if, after that last night together with Mac, Nikki got pregnant but hid the kid from Mac for 5 years, then when Mac finds out about the kid cause Nikki died he takes custody and retires to Texas with Jack to raise him there, and then slowly the rest of the Phoenix Family moves down too?" Canon events happen basically unchanged from there until the season 3 finale, then they officially break off completely. Also, Mac and Jack get together because I said MacDalton rights. 😂

Anyways at this particular point in the Au, about a year after taking Brady in and 6 months after the move to Texas, Mac and Jack are finally married, Mr. And Mr. Macgyver-Dalton: on Cairo Day no less, dispelling the bad vibes once and for all from that haunting mission.

Jack still ain't going to Egypt tho. 😂😂😂

There'll be a full wedding fic coming soon btw! Didn't get it written in time for this week, sorry, but I'm starting it today and I'll hopefully get it done soon-ish.

@macgyvercairo thank you for building this wonderful week! I've loved seeing everyone's creations as well as the support for my own!!!! I hope we can all do this again next year as well!

The first picture is all the pets that the family's adopted, the second is some Noodley Boi Shenanigans™ featuring Fermi and Faraday, the ferrets! (Yes, Jack's poses is based on the Jake Gyllenhaal waving a ferret meme.)

Bruno, a Border Collie (uses his herding tendencies to corral the kids)

Willis, a Pomeranian, fluff ball of death and destruction

Whiskey, Tango and Foxtrot, the house cats (Tango is Jack's lap cat, Whiskey is Mac's shoulder cat)

Lovelace, Brady's fox that he and Arista helped nurse back to health when they found her injured along the fence line

Squeakers, Eliza's squirrel that she helped raise and that now lives in the trees next to the house

And of course, Fermi and Faraday, the ferret companions

Cairo Week 2020: a Masterpost

Surprise! I didn’t forget Cairo Week! It’s just that I’m an essential worker (I work at a deli in a Walmart near my hometown) so while everyone else is (happily or deeply unhappily) quarantined at home, I get to be the lucky one who cuts meat all day! Yay! -_-; Yeah so Covid-19 sucked away a lot of my creative drive for a while, and working has sucked up a lot of what I managed to get back after two weeks, so my Cairo Week contributions won’t be quite what I was wanting? But I do basically have at least one drawing for each day of the week (barring one or two that I want to complete over the next two days), although I don’t have the corresponding fic chapters I had wanted just yet (there may be a Cairo Week 2: Electric Boogaloo sometime soon to publish those instead). I DO, however, have one complete minific for Cairo Day itself that’s unrelated to the overarching theme, and another for This Is Gonna Hurt that’s in the works and will also hopefully be completed over the next two days (I know how I want it to go, I just need to sit down and actually, ya know, WRITE IT). So there’s the general “here’s why my posts are gonna be the way they are’ explanation. And now, the theme:

The Wedding

Initially, the plan was for every drawing this week to correspond with the theme; I’d been teasing for a good long while that this week was when the wedding bells would ring for the Bradyverse, and for Mac and Jack specifically. There would also have been a corresponding fic chapter for each day, culminating in the final day as the Wedding itself. Unfortunately real life got in the way of that (a global pandemic will do that to ya), so we get a week that’s mostly full of wedding drawings, with the glaring exception of This Is Gonna Hurt; that day is when I’m posting the vent art that I made at the beginning of this crisis when I was reeling, nearly had a couple panic attacks, and listened to The Wall in it’s entirety WAYYYY too many fucking times to be entirely healthy. The resulting art is definitely on-theme for the day, at least, even if it doesn’t actually fit with the overall Wedding theme. Also instead of a fic every day, y’all get two unrelated fics on different days as deemed appropriate by me.

It’s Cairo Day!!!!!! Today’s overall theme is Improvise, so we can basically do whatever we want. There were some optional themes you could take inspo from, though, and one of those was Accidental Baby Acquisition. Coincidentally, Mac and Jack DO in fact accidentally acquire a baby in the Bradyverse! So today’s art is of the kids in their wedding outfits PLUS a fic in which we finally get to see just how Eliza May came into their lives!
