Fallingstar- a leader of Honeyclan, previously their medicine cat, Fallingstep. More under the cut!

Fallingstep qas chosen to lead Honeyclan by starclan after the leader and deputy died in a great battle. Gatorhowl was his mentor- and she trained him as a medicine cat, but also taught him many battle moves.

Fallingkit was born with a wobble- something his mother, Snowstorm, believed would make him a nuisance to the clan, and something she thought would soon kill him as a kit. Gatorhowl was furious with her over her mistreatment of the young kit, and adopted Fallingkit as her own son [despite protests of the clan that she was a medicine cat- Slatestar allowed this, saying she was the only one who stepped up to the responsibility]. She tied his legs to increase his range of movement, something that got the kit up and walking on his own- albeit, always with a wobble. Fallingkit wanted to be a medicine cat like her- which she hesitated to allow at first. She didn't want Fallingkit to feel as if it was the only path available to him, but after nagging her for two moons she eventually gave in.

For whatever reason, Izar is convinced that there must be a way to tame a Fallingstar Beast, but she has yet to find the right approach.

Fallingpaw’s Backstory

I thought it would be fun to share some thoughts I had about characters’ lives pre-comic! Lemme know if yall have any questions, I live to talk about my characters haha

Fall’s father was never in the picture. He was long gone by the time she was born, and her mother Eve never said anything about him—though it wasn’t hard to tell that the kits weren’t born out of love.

Fall had a single littermate, Lake. Lake was born very small and had health complications from birth.

Having never wanted to be a mother, and suffering from postpartum depression, Eve spent much of her time lying in her nest, unwilling to stand up and leave to hunt. She didn’t make an effort to teach her children any necessary skills. Eve was not a cruel mother, but she was emotionally absent.

Lake died at three moons due to malnourishment. Shortly after, Eve left the den and never returned.

Fall struggled to make do on her own, scrounging scraps from the edge of twoleg place. It was there she met a cat her age named Juniper. He was smaller and more frightened than Fall. She managed to feign strength and bravado to comfort him, building up her own bravery for his sake. The two became close friends, and began fending for survival together.

The two were barely making ends meet when winter came. They tried to cross the frozen lake in search of somewhere safe and warm, but Juniper passed out from the cold. Unwilling to forge on without her friend, Fall curled up against him to try and give him some of her own warmth.

Fall and Juniper would have died if not for the intervention of Ravenstar and Skystripe at the beginning of the comic, but thanks to the spirits’ help, they survived the night and went on to found DaybreakClan
