Meet my Rook: Felix "Rook" Thorne

Male (he/him)/28/Grey Warden rogue

He once belonged to clan Lavellan and was 17 (almost 18) when the woman who would become the Inquisitor left for the conclave. They knew each other, but not well. Felix knew she was a powerful mage, quick-witted, and kind. When the clan got word she'd joined the Inquisition, he wanted to join the organization, as he'd recently proven himself to be a skilled hunter. The Keeper denied his request, as promising young hunters in the clan were few and far between.

Shortly after turning 19, he was out hunting with a group of hunters from his clan when they were attacked by darkspawn. Instead of fleeing, he fought off the horde, ensuring the safety of his other hunters, but he ended up blighted after being injured by the darkspawn. Knowing Grey Wardens were in the area, the hunters took Felix to them and pleaded with the Wardens to save his life. While the Joining is not to be used as a life-saving measure, the Wardens were already preparing for one for a group of new recruits, and they were impressed with the hunter's recounting of Felix's bravery and skills. They agreed to allow him to attempt the Joining, saying they would send word from Weisshaupt regarding his condition. (Obviously Wardens are going to keep their secrets...don't want to tell them he might die choking on darkspawn blood).

He survived, started going by Rook (because he cheated death..."rook" is slang for cheat/swindle), and immediately became a...Thorne (lol) in the First Warden's side. He is an absolute shithead. I love him.

He knew who Davrin was, but nothing beyond passing greetings at Weisshaupt. There was talk amongst senior leaders of also sending Rook to be an additional bodyguard for the griffons and their trainers, but then Rook decided to climb to the top of the First Warden's shit list.

Rook is driven by his emotions but is more likely to hide their outward manifestations with sarcasm and jokes. He tries not to take things too seriously unless the situation calls for it because he still can't decide if those hunters did him a favor when he was 19 or not. He reacts strongly to injustice, feeling part of his duty as a Warden is to correct it when he sees it. His correction of such situations is usually through force...he's not afraid to get into a physical confrontation if he feels it's called for.

He's also quick on his feet, often meaning he's prone to "do now, ask for forgiveness later" actions...which eventually lead to him being sent with Varric (see: First Warden's shit list).

He's a shameless flirt and has charmed the pants off many partners with relative ease.

He can't say he's ever been in love. There was one girl back in his clan he thought maybe one day... but when he went back to visit after surviving the Joining, she was married with babies on the way. He wasn't particularly upset or heartbroken over it and sent the family a gift when the babies were born.

And then he met Bellara.

At first, he found her a bit odd, constantly bouncing from one thing to the next. Obviously, he thought she was beautiful, but when his usual flirting fell flat, he just assumed she wasn't interested and made peace with just being friends.

What Rook thought was disinterest on her part was largely due to her inexperience. The topic of her inexperience made him nervous at first, mostly because he had plenty of it. He'd put plenty of notches in his belt and didn't want her to think she was just another one, or to think inexperience on her part was some kind of kink for him. He was nervous that despite his experience, he wouldn't be enough for her. It was paramount to him to make sure she felt safe, cherished, and cared for. She may have fallen first, but he definitely fell harder.

The night they...well, you know... He spent the time afterward worshipping every inch of her body he could get his hands and lips on. She traced his tattoos with her fingertips, and he mimicked her motions with his.

With Elgar'nan defeated, and Solas successfully tricked into using the fake dagger, Rook and Bellara return to Arlathan. While the blight within him may have changed, his experience as a Warden was still invaluable to the Veil Jumpers when fighting off any blight or darkspawn that lingered. Evka, now First Warden, assigned him to remain in Arlathan to assist with recovery efforts there and help Eldrin with the griffons now under his care.

Davrin also built a cabin nearby to "help with the griffons." (Eldrin, Rook, and Bellara are the closest thing he has to family but won't admit he wants to stay close to them).

He and Bellara get married by Eldrin in a small Dalish ceremony witnessed by Davrin and the Feather Brigade, and he starts going by his name again.

Not sure what happens from here, but I have LOVED every moment of playing this absolute cinnamon roll. I might start writing post-veilguard stuff for him, but either way. I had to share my guy. 🩷🩷🩷

Meet my FFXIV OC's:

Alinea Skylark

My main girlie!

Age: early 30's after Endwalker. She doesn't actually know when her birthday is, but after comparing to others, that's what she guestimates.

Unsundered life: She was happily married to Hades and Hythlodaeus, and her little brother, Themis, was the absolute apple of her eye. Her name was Emmeline, though once she became Azem, only the aforementioned people ever called her by her true name. She loved her work and got along well with everyone on the Convocation.

Alinea has full recollection of her unsundered life, but after the events at Ultima Thule, she's able to find peace and move on with her life as Alinea Skylark. Her and Estinien start dating shortly after, much to Alphinaud's delight and Alisae's horror. Currently, she's just trying to relax as much as possible before the next adventure sweeps her away.

Aurora Calypso

Age: 21 after Endwalker.

Unsundered life: She remembers bits and pieces of her life as Azem, and cares deeply for Hades, Hythlodaeus, and Themis, but doesn't remember any personal connection or attachment. The one thing she does remember is that her name was Echo.

The events in Shadowbringers and Endwalker took a heavy toll on Aurora's body. She's slowly recovering and is currently taking a tour with Erenville of all their favorite places across Etheirys. She loves her carbuncle, Monty, and he is absolutely spoiled.

Annabeth Rose

Age: 36 or so at the end of Endwalker

Unsundered Life: She was both Azem and sister to Hades. She knew that Hades was planning to propose to Hythlodaeus, but then the final days happened. Her name name then had been Eleonora.

Annabeth has a twin brother, Felix, who she adores, as well as many younger siblings that she also cares for and keeps in contact with. She has an extremely large extended family, most of whom consist of characters who I've saved from their in-game fates :P

Alira Thorne

Age: 32 at the end of Endwalker

Unsundered Life: Her name was Eris and she loved being Azem. She loved going from town to town, meeting and learning from the people, and helping wherever she could. Her best friends where Hades and Hythlodaeus and she had the great honor of officiating their wedding.

She had a very traumatic upbringing that caused her to push people away for the longest time. Only during Stormblood, does this come to a head and she starts working on the path to find inner peace. This comes in the form of becoming a Dark Knight. Thanks to Rielle, Fray, and the moogles, her and Sid work through their pasts together and eventually start dating. Her and Sid have a little girl after the events of Shadowbringers who Rielle names Sibbie.

AU

In an alternate timeline, all the girls work together, going from ARR to EW. Most of the above information holds, with the only change being that Aurora worked in the Capital as a record taker of the convocation of fourteen meetings. She was adored by all, and knew the goings on and kept quiet on them all. All the 14 would talk to her as an impartial party when they were musing on issues, and she was good at providing input and questions in a way to help them think.

They are all fiercely protective of each other and love each other dearly. They often go on trips together with their significant others and families too.

Personality: Livia is naturally cheerful and enjoys being around family members and friends. Others state that people are naturally drawn to her due to her cheerfulness and compassionate behavior. She's very naive and childish, leading to some accidents(Getting caught in the human stampede from chapter 2 after Ziro tells her about a candy stand), but she is resilient and smart when she's not scared silly or having been tricked from trusting someone too much. She does have s scary side despite acting like a toddler and has been commented on by others that she's perfected Lilia's signature glare. She loves her family dearly and is protective of them, especially of Silver who is her favorite sibling out of them all, preferring to take the fall rather than them.

She can be a bit loud mouthed and accidentally sassy, having gotten it from Malleus while she was growing up. When she's upset, she has a sharp tongue and will do what it takes to get back at the person who thought it was okay to turn her positive emotions into negative ones. Even as Ogre she remains the same but plays no games when it comes to throwing down with the overblot boys. She's determined and soft-hearted when it comes to her goals, believing that one can reach if if they do their best.

Appearance: Livia stands at 5'6 which is 167 cms in height. Her hair color is midnight black with purple underneath, fading into a light blue, along with a streak of the same color at the front of her hair, but she ended up cutting her hair to waist length hating how long it was, and since she tended to stumble over her own hair a few times(which made Lilia laugh). Livia's eyes are a pale blue which is a sign of rebirth. Her jaguar ears are a bright yellow the same with her tail, but her ears are slightly smaller due to her only being half jaguar.

Livia, during the Diasomnia Arc, gets a pair of horns that curls around her ears. Her wings turn from black to a slightly lighter grayish black color, and now she always has her wings out at all times since her curse no longer affected her. Her eyes change from blue to gold, but is able to change colors depending on her emotions.

Her dorm uniform is the same as everyone else's residing in Diasomnia. Livia wears purple eyeshadow, done by Lilia, when in the dorm. Her uniform consists of a black all-weather coat with neon green and silver accents, black combat suspenders and belts, jodhpur pants, a small garrison cap, black gloves, and heeled knee-high boots.

The all-weather coat has asymmetrically colored lapels, with one black and one neon green. Both lapels have silver straps and buttons on them. Two silver zippers go down the center of the coat, lined with neon green stripes. The coat reaches below the waist in length, and the sleeves are folded up to reveal a neon green underlining with silver trim. Sebek wears a white collared shirt and black tie underneath his coat.

Over the coat and above the waist is a set of black belts with silver buckles. The lowest belt hangs at an angle, and connects to several silver spools of thread on his left hip. Between the belt and spools is a silver ornament, shaped like a spinning wheel. On the other side of the belt is a holster for a magic pen. The black combat suspenders worn above the belts have silver buttons and a unique cuff around the right arm that resembles a dragon’s wing.

The jodhpur pants are black with neon green stripes going down the outer seams, and the knee-high boots are black with neon green soles. The garrison cap is black with neon green trim, and the sides fold up to resemble curved horns.

Unique magic:

Emotion Weather(Formerly) Description: Livia is able to control the weather with her emotions(Happy means Sunny, Sad and crying causes rain, fury causes a thunderstorm, excitement causes a near drought, etc, etc), it activates if she chants a rhyme responding to her current emotion or current forced emotion ("Hail, Rain, Sunny, Storms respond to my sadness dear rain, bring a rain storm!"). It'll deactivate the moment she goes back to the emotion she's currently genuinely feeling.

Voodoo dolls(Currently) Description: Livias Unique Magic allows her to turn people and objects into voodoo dolls who become controlled by her and won't return to their normal forms unless she frees them so willingly. Her Unique Magic is revealed after she is revived by Meleanor and she returns to help the ramshackle group, Silver, Sebek, Idia and Ortho take on Malleus.

Background: Livia's bio father is Lilia Vanrouge and Thea Vanrouge. She also has several adopted older siblings and many younger siblings adopted and biological. She was initially feared by the people of her home, being labeled as a demon child, but she never let it get to her because she always had her family and friends love/support. After some time she started to be called the Friendly Hybrid/The Draconia's beastie, being seen as a popular lady of her hometown.

She was relieved for her mothers food so she didn't have to eat her fathers, but was pleasantly surprised that NRC's food tasted much better than her mothers.

Trivia:

-Livia is stated to be based off of Maleficents thorns but is also hinted to have a bit if Disney princess in her character

-Her childhood friend/pen pals are Kalim and Azul, being the one who brought them together as childhood friends before Azul meets Jade and Floyd

-According to Rollo, Livia eats lots and lots of fruit rarely ever eating meat revealing that she's mostly vegan

-According to Silver, Livia is bad at cutting her hair so he, Golden or their mother take over that job

-Livia knows kickboxing and is a master at it but she tends to be too childish to remember to use it or she uses taekwondo more due to knowing more moves

-Like Silver, Livia attracts animals of all sizes and species, and they tend to be her source of protection/comfort if others aren't around

-According to Crowley, Livia might be part of Twisted Wonderland due to her thorn control power

-Livia has deadly allergies to Honey Lemon Tea, the reason why is currently unknown

-Livia is by far the only character who gets included in almost all the events, getting many cards but is the hardest to summon

-Other students have commented that she makes Lilia's expressions perfectly and that she could be his kid or sibling

-According to Lilia, he gave Livia her name because he knew others would be envious of how cherished she was by her loved ones

-Livia has Light Fae blood inside of her thanks to her mother, Thea, cause her mothers father was a light Fae

-Livia is the first and only student to get her Unique Magic during an Event(Star Gazer)

-Rook is Livia's mentor, and taught her how to hunt better

-It's been stated by Malleus that Livia tends to overstep her boundaries due to the fact that he doted on her a lot, back at their home, so he invaded her space at times

-Lilia helped Livia trick Sebek Zigvolt cause he barely had any candy, which caused the loudest scream ever to come from poor Sebek

-Due to having Light Fae blood, Livia has emotion sensing powers

How did you decide on naming your OCs?

ooh fun question!

so in terms of my Destiny OCs, I came up with names of my first 7 all at the same time (I knew I would eventually make them into a fireteam/clan in the series)

as for the individual names, it varies from character to character (this might get long so apologies in advance)

Main Destiny OCs

Harley, Fyr, Jade, Bazzle, Kaedro, Rogue, Rae, Kyler, Sarren -> I just liked the sound of the names and none of them were inspired by anything in particular

Liv -> named after Olivia Moore from iZombie

Kai -> Ninjago lol

Tristan -> named after Tristan Thorn from Stardust

Jesse -> Minecraft Story Mode reference

Seven -> hasn't actually appeared in anything outside of a oneshot but he was named that bc it was funny (Seven-11)

Ghosts

Prism (Harley's Ghost), Delta (Jade's Ghost), Felix (Kai's Ghost), Cable (Rogue's Ghost) -> just liked the name :)

Spark (Fyr's Ghost) -> it's a play on Fyr's name being similar to Fire (fire and spark lol)

Sway (Bazzle's Ghost) and Shard (Rae's Ghost) -> obscure reference to a Minecraft series where two friends would review adventure maps (the names come from a bow (named sway) and a sword (named shard) in one of the maps)

Jyn (Kaedro's Ghost) -> named after Jyn Erso from Rogue-1

Rhys (Liv's Ghost) -> named after Rhys Strongfork from Tales from the Borderlands (not BL3, didn't play that)

Trillian (Tristan's Ghost) -> named after Tricia McMillan from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Root (Jesse's Ghost) -> named after Root from Person of Interest

Bellerophon (Seven's Ghost) -> named after the Ancient Greek hero

Nico (High Elf Sorcerer) -> my first BG3 character and named after the name I'm thinking of going by as a sort of test-drive

My FNAFverse Lore: The Next Generation 4 And 5

So like I previously mentioned in the post about my Afton family lore, the Nightmares are demonic entities that took on the forms of the Fazbear gang for so long that those became their default forms. Well they were able to biologically have children, though some spawned from a single parent still. Their children would go on to separate into an entirely different house and claim it as their hunting grounds.

Their name's from left to right are: Star(One of Nightmare Freddy's twin daughters), Nightmare Franbear(Nightmare Fredbear's only daughter), Nightmare Chloe(Nightmare Bonnie and Nightmare Chica's oldest daughter), Thorn(Nightmare Freddy's youngest daughter), Franchesca(Nightmare Freddy's oldest daughter), Rose(Nightmare Freddy's other twin daughter), Nightmare Fionna(Nightmare Foxy and Nightmare Mangle's oldest daughter), Nightmare Felix(Nightmare Foxy and Nightmare Mangle's only son), and Nightmare Katie(Nightmare Bonnie and Nightmare Chica's youngest daughter).

Nightmare himself would not go on to have his own child but nevertheless he considers himself Nightmare Franbear's "Uncle" of sorts. The next generation of the Nightmares would hunt down any unfortunate soul who found themselves within the house. The only one who refused to hunt down any of the victims of the household was Thorn, which resulted in her being bullied endlessly by Rose while Star would just sit there and watch the whole thing play out.

Nightmare Fionna and Nightmare Felix's relationship is sort of similar to UnderFell Sans and Papyrus where even though they do care about each other, they won't hesitate to get aggressive and get physical.

Nightmare Chloe and Nightmare Katie are a lot more co-operative with each other and both of them got their mother's nightmarish appetite for pizza.

As for the Sister Location Next Gen, I unfortunately don't have an image of all of them but the least I can do is tell you who's who. So Elmer and Circus Bailey are Circus Baby's built children that she built while in control of Ennard. Elmer is on the shyer side, though he has taken on the leader role with Circus Bailey supporting her older brother the whole way.

Bane is Ballora's son that she built when she was in control of Ennard. Bane, instead of being a ballet dancer like his mother, was a breakdancer. While he comes off as "totally cool", he thinks he really doesn't deserve any fame he gets because he hasn't perfected the art of it all.

Funtime Fionna and Funtime Felix are Funtime Foxy and Funtime Freddy's children that they built while co-controlling Ennard. These two are very mean-spirited, Funtime Felix making puns at people's expense and bullying them while Funtime Fionna acts like that mean high school girl trope in media. These two are both foxes by the way, it's consistent with every version of Fionna and Felix.

Frinzy would come a couple years after Funtime Fionna and Funtime Felix were built, again being Funtime Freddy and Funtime Foxy child that they built when co-controlling Ennard as a whole. Frinzy herself resembles a bear like Funtime Freddy. She also comes off as a little creepy, especially since she has an obsession with creepy dolls.

Now I would've included the next gen of FNAF 6 but the thing is...I don't have any FNAF 6 ocs, so there's no Rockstar versions of Franny, Katie, Chloe, Fionna, and Felix. Also there's just TOO MANY ANIMATRONICS IN THAT GAME TO MAKE NEXT GEN OCS FOR-.

So...I'll leave that to other people to do to be honest.
