awesome that they are both trying to escape their families' influence. it will potentially be a great bonding point for them.

I adore that Ras is very head full of Dagon's whispers and trying to fight them off while Dio is that stark opposite in the fact that they are head empty waiting for orders because of their training.

kinda of darkly comical that Ras is afraid of his desires and Dio just straight up isn't because of the kind of life they have lived/their moral ambiguity. like I'm really excited for them to have that conversation and then just look at each other like the shocked Pikachu meme.

I freaking love, LOVE that Ras is their type and doesn't see how he can be which in turn confuses Dio. XD

I think it's time that Ras gets the scary dog privilege and isn't just the scary dog. Dio is ready for it!

Drizzt was at the edge of camp, skillfully practicing with his scimitars. This was a dance that he knew well. Where he would fight opponents in his head, practicing his footwork and counters. Not even noticing the other watching as he spun around to slice off the head of an imaginary orc.

After that he caught site of him and offered a nod. Taking a nearby rag to wipe the sweat from his brow.

       Of course, he downplayed his position somewhat. His...JOB was important, he supposed. Someone had to do it. Yet, Kharon was acutely aware that he wasn't Kharon. Not completely, anyway. Maybe only half. Still, he gave him a small grin before he tilted his head back somewhat.

       "Though, if I had to pick, it'd be my approachable air and can-do attitude. A particular lack of animosity, maybe?"

Considering what scant he knew of Ras’ past. The statement resonated from the smell of his blood and all the secrets therein. Each of them withheld something from the others, but Ras kept his so close to his sleeve. Hard to discern what specters haunted his past; they all had one. The mindflayers specially selected them out of so many. Did the tadpoles enjoy a mind marked in tragedy more than any other?

Raserei looked over at the elf. It was a question he was expecting.

"My sister and her kids, they are the only family I have, our mother died all too soon after I was adopted."

"Ah... my condolences," Revenelan nodded in understanding, taking a solemn moment of solidarity as she contemplated the weight of the Inquisitor's loss. She was surprised to note that his answer didn't shock her at all. Since joining the Inquisition's efforts, she had met many haunted by deep grief; it was a stark reminder that tragedy was all too common, all too widespread in the world. Her brow furrowed with a brief introspection, wondering if she had grown somewhat desensitized to the pain over time. With a shake of her head, she dismissed the thought. She could add it to her ever-growing list of things to dwell on in her own time.

Instead, she turned her focus back to the Inquisitor, in a rare moment of intimate conversation, she added with a touch of warmth, "Your nieces and nephews - they must be excited to have such a famous uncle."

I honestly have two that are my favorite. The first is the kind of character that has been through some shit and has decided to remain kind (or even become kinder). The other is one which was doomed/'evil' from the start but managed to escape. While they aren't the monster they were before that doesn't mean they are fully 'good'/free now.

Cassian hummed as he looked him over. A soft smile came to his lips as he motioned with his head for him to follow. Maybe his nerves were tearing him up. He felt naked without his large sword but he calmed himself. Sure that nothing would happen on their way to the tavern.

"Come on. It's a nice evening." He said trying to keep his mind from wondering. Though as he walked he found hims mind doing just that. He was nervous which was a good thing that meant he cared about fucking this up. Which god knows he would fuck it up horribly. No he needed to focus.

Soon they were approaching the place that Astarion had told Cassian about. He was glad of that the sooner they could sit down and eat together the better. Everything would be better then.

"Hm?"

Generally, Raserei was more mindful of footfall and who was where, but he was rather focused on trying to make himself look presentable out of what little options he had. Not that under normal circumstances he would have more choices.

"As ready as I can be," he said gaze still focused on what he was wearing, but his eyes widened, "I mean yes. Yes, I am ready."

This was such a weird thing to him. dates, courting as one would do in city living was not common among the barbarians. Raserei wasn't even sure anything like it existed amongst the tribe that raised him. Romance or anything akin to it, was never a thought in his head, and when it was, it was with a woman from one of the ten towns.

Finally, his good eye leveled at Cassian, "You lead, I follow." Raserei smiled.

He felt a little guilty. He didn't feel overly excited, nor anxious, not in the sense he expected himself to be. But rather unsure, new experience and all that. But he wasn't unhappy. He did want to do this. How could he explain to someone his lack of such a strong emotion was a good thing? That feeling a weird since of comfort despite the lack of understanding was good for him?

Ah but here he was getting lost in his mind again, something the tadpole had made easier.
