Help Tawfiq and His Children Escape the Trauma of War

My name is Tawfiq Al-Tatri. I am 40 years old, a father of five, and a survivor—but survival here in Gaza is not truly living. My children and I have lost everything. Our home, our safety, our community—gone.

We now live in a refugee camp, crammed inside a fragile tent, shivering through the freezing nights, unsure where we will be tomorrow. We have been displaced over and over again, fleeing destruction, heartbreak, and loss. My home was bombed with my family inside. By some miracle, we survived—but so many of our neighbors and relatives did not.

As a father, my only mission now is to protect my children, to give them a future beyond war and suffering. I dream of getting them to safety, away from the fear that haunts their every step. But I cannot do it alone.

Thank you for helping Hashem @hashembadr reach his short term goal! He is now able to buy another tent for his large extended family to shelter in the winter. To everyone who helped, whether by donating, making posts, or sharing, thank you for your assistance. However, Hashem and his family still need your support!

Hashem's young niece, Suham, is suffering from a lasting injury, which requires costly surgery to heal from properly. About a year ago, near the beginning of the war, Suham's arm was seriously injured. Due to relentless bombardment, displacement, and scarcity of medical supplies, Suham was not able to get the treatment that she needed as her arm was healing. Because of this, her bone welded incorrectly.

Suham needs surgery to correct the bone in her arm. The doctor advised that she get it soon, so her injury does not worsen or become harder to fix. However, the surgery is very expensive, costing around $4,700. Combined with the 30% transfer fees to withdraw the money, Hashem and his family need to raise another $6,110 (or £4,864) for Suham to recieve this vital surgery.

Suham is only a child. She has spent the last year injured, living through displacement, fear, and pain. Please, help her get the surgery she needs to heal her arm. Share and donate, anything you can give makes a difference.

Good morning my friends who always support Gaza 🔆🫶

I miss you all and may God always protect you and your families from all evil 🙏

Today the weather is beautiful and the sun is shining 🫂, so my child Tim and I decided to go for a small walk near our house.

But every time I go out with my child and see the extent of the destruction, I feel a pang in my heart 😞💔, because my beautiful Gaza has changed and I no longer recognize its beautiful streets that provide comfort and safety as before.

My five-year-old son Tim, as he looks at all the ugliness and rubble, keeps asking me, "Mama, why doesn't a big bird come and carry us and take us far away so we can live like before? I'll bring my toys Mickey and Superman and fly in the sky 😔

He falls silent and repeats his question, "Mama, when will the war end?" Well, we'll go to heaven like my friend Omar

Omar is Tim's close friend. Every day they used to play together in front of the house, but he was martyred by shrapnel while playing in front of his house after we got used to the sound of his jokes, laughter and activity. Now he's not here and Tim always asks about him. Because of his insistence, I told him that he too, Tim, went to heaven 🙂‍↕️💔, like your grandfather, grandmother and uncle, they are all in heaven now.

It's true that it's a small outing, but our life and our story are big 🙏🫂

This is part of our daily life with our children who ask many questions and the answers are beyond their mental capacity to comprehend what It happens over the course of a year and three months because we are in a war.

Your prayers and your support for me, Tim, my family, my husband, my mother, my father, and my brothers, always stay safe 🙏🫂

It is so cruel to say “surrender or starve”, as if Palestinians have been doing anything but starving for months now. More than an year of genocide, and the occupation keeps getting away with both massacring and starving Gazans, while the world hems and haws, and does nothing. So, we do not have any time to waste here; what is happening in North Gaza is insane, and Ola’s family is in urgent need of your help right at this moment!! I will keep this short:

Ola is only 26 years old, and her life has been completely destroyed in this genocide. Where before she was a brilliant student of mathematics and dreamt of having a career in the field, now she spends her days trying to find food and escape death.

As the eldest daughter, it has fallen on her to ensure that her family of SEVEN survives through this genocide.

The condition of North Gaza is terrible: there is a famine and the cost of living is tremendously high. Many of the family members have started to show signs of malnutrition, with Ola herself having fallen dangerously underweight.

With barely anything to eat, exhaustion weighs on her daily and yet she walks miles to get an internet connection to campaign for her family. This is becoming more and more dangerous now, when the occupation forces have started to bomb the north of Gaza.

This is extremely urgent, as 200 Gazans have been murdered by the occupation forces recently. In this bout of indiscriminate bombing all across the North of Gaza, the IOF are specifically targeting camps and the remaining shelters - mass displacement is imminent and no one knows what is going to happen with winter looming ahead. Food and other resources will be stretched thin even more and the prices will go up to unprecedented heights which Ola's family won’t be able to afford without immediate donations. In a bombed-out neighborhood of Gaza, Rania, a 26-year-old woman, stood staring at the pile of stones and twisted iron where her home had once stood. The wind was raising dust and whipping it across her cheeks, but she didn't shed a single tear. Her eyes were fixed, as if trying to recall something beyond the destruction: memories, laughter, the smell of bread in the morning, and the fragrant jasmine her mother had planted near the door.

Rania wasn't just a survivor. She was a painter. But her paintings no longer adorned the walls of galleries or small cafes. Now, she painted on the ruins of her homeland, trying to immortalize what could never be recovered.

In her right hand, she held a small, dusty notebook and in her left, a pencil. She sat on a broken stone that had been part of her home's staircase and began to paint. She didn't draw the destruction as it is, but as she saw it: The house standing, the windows open, the white curtains moving in the breeze, her mother calling her from the kitchen, her little brother running down the corridor, and herself looking out from the balcony to draw the sea. She was engraving the lines of memory with her pen as if to say, "Perhaps flying can erase walls, but no one can erase what I draw." A young neighbor passed by, recognized her, and asked, "Are you still drawing despite everything?" She replied, without taking her eyes off the paper, "I don't draw despite everything... I draw because everything is over." Rania's drawings spread across the internet, and people began to see her destroyed house through her eyes. One painting was titled "The House as It Was," another: "The Room I Dreamed of," and "The Fig Tree That Didn't Last the Season." In a world where images proliferate without a soul, Rania's paintings were a window beyond the destruction: an invitation to see not only what was lost, but also what must return. Although she still sleeps in a room without a roof, each painting she creates is a new ceiling for a homeland that never died.

I don’t know how to communicate to you all that Mahmoud Abu Hamam (@ma7moudgaza2) needs your continued attention. He has recently been a victim of fraud, which caused his bank to freeze his account. Now, he is barely getting any help at all. 

Mahmoud currently has no access to the 11k he has painstakingly raised after MONTHS of campaigning. This is heartbreaking- all the compromises he had to make to get there; he gave up hopes of evacuating and then again of rebuilding, because nothing was coming in! Now, after a whole year of genocide, Mahmoud is still struggling to get donations. So please help him, now that he is campaigning only to collect survival funds. He needs the money to procure warm clothes and blankets for 20 family members, 10 of whom are children. Gazan winters are terrible and living in a tent with no blankets or warm clothes is a death sentence.

I promise you that your donations won’t go to waste even if Mahmoud has no access to his bank account. His organizer would send him funds via USDT but that cannot be done if there is nothing to send. Israel's deadly attack on hospitals and medical facilities in the past 15 months has devastated Gaza's healthcare system. This means that people like Anas (@dr-anas96), who is suffering from cancer, often do not get the medical treatment they need. He is so ill that he is even vomiting blood every day!

My dear friend Ibrahim Aburakhia @aburakhiaibrahim asked me to share this video. It shows the situation his family is living through in Ghazzah right now, surrounded by rubble from the ceaseless bombing by the IOF.

Ibrahim and his family have a chance to leave this destruction behind and reach safety with relatives in Canada. However, they need funds to do so. Prices for crossing the border to leave Ghazzah are extremely high. What's more, even getting the food needed to survive long enough to escape is difficult and dangerous, as Ghazzans are being shot at aid distribution sites.

The Aburakhia family needs money to survive and evacuate, but donations keep stagnating. The last donation their campaign recieved was two days ago. The whole family is hungry, exhausted, and scared. They need support to survive and reach a better, safer life and future. Your donations can be a part of that support. Please, share and donate, help Ibrahim and is family live!
