You Would NOT Evacuate and Leave Your Family Behind in Gaz*a to Face the Horrors of War, Would you?!

In the midst of the chaos engulfing the region and the receding in media coverage, you might be misled to think the horrific war in Gaz*a has stopped. However, it breaks my heart to tell you that if anything, it only moves from bad to WORSE. Committing massacres against defenseless civilian families and children has become the ordinary instead of the horrific unordinary.

Unfortunately, the massacres and the mass destruction of our beloved Gaz*a have it into a pile of rubble and rendered the dreams and hopes of people as baseless, far-fetched, meaningless, and unrealistic daydreaming.

I was displaced with my big family five times in Gaz*a and escaped imminent death multiple times before I was evacuated to Ireland five months into the war and I can tell you from my firsthand experience that the situation in Gaz*a is beyond hellish. Can you even bear to imagine that Lifeless corpses of so many children are brought out from under the rubble of their bombed houses almost every day?!

I hate to admit that I never imagined I was this weak. I don’t have the courage or strength to bring the corpses of my future children from under the rubble in Gaza one day. I shudder and blood freezes in my veins when I imagine what could happen to my parents, brothers, sisters and their children while I am in a safe place too far away.

Therefore, I have the moral obligation to do everything in my power to secure a NORMAL, safe, and dignified life for them here. Please know exactly what you are contributing to by boosting my campaign. You are helping a Gaza family reunite in Ireland after their lives and dreams have been viciously crushed by the horrific war. And, sadly, the worst is yet to come!

After consulting the Irish Refugee Council and Doras in Ireland and Palestinian families who managed to reunite in Ireland, I know for certain that THERE IS HOPE!

Ahmad Waleed's Family

In a town once filled with the laughter of children, the rumble of distant explosions became a constant reminder of a war that seemed never-ending. Every day I come onto this site and try to think of a better, more convincing method of trying to get people to donate to stagnating fundraisers.

I am very disappointed that Hashim & Laila's, Mohammed Eid Matar's, and Yahya's fundraisers have barely budged over the past week, despite the regular updates they and the people promoting them have been giving.

Mohammed (@mohammedmatat) desperately needs a new tent for his family for the upcoming winter. We have already heard stories about heavy rain this week, which the average tent provides little protection for. Farah (@/farahmoo2), for example, has told us that her family's tent got flooded this week, and needed to be rebuilt. A tent in Gaza costs anywhere between $200-$1000 depending on the quality (not including bedding or a toilet), and building one isn't that much cheaper than a ready-made one. I was hoping to get Mohammed's fundraiser to at least the 2k mark by the end of the week, yet we're still at €1,350. Mohammed is only 23, and has two young siblings to take care of, who not only have been injured over the past year, are now, if they do not get access to safe shelter by the time the winter chill sets in, at risk of getting sick. (don't forget that there has been an outbreak of polio in Gaza as well, and they've only recently started the first rounds of vaccinations for children under 10).

Hashim & Laila (@hashimsafadi) are also at an abysmally low amount, still at €1,362 despite the fundraiser being up since Apr 23. Without jobs, how can two people live off of €1,362 for five months? How can you live off of that, put up with being displaced several times, living constantly under threat of being killed in unsafe areas? Being exposed to massive heat waves, suffering "contamination, intestinal infections, skin rashes, jaundice, and infections of the joints, bones, and teeth"? You can't.

Hashim & Laila will also be needing a safe and sanitary environment to live in for the upcoming winter! Please help them out.

And finally, Yahya Bkheet. Yahya has been tirelessly working to get his family, including three children under 10, out of Gaza. They were given until Aug 23 to raise €30k so they could all evacuate together, yet they didn't even make it to the 5k mark. That hasn't stopped Yahya from continuing to try. He has posted an update today of his situation: his mother needs treatment for her heart disease and diabetes, they need at least $200 to fix up the tent for the upcoming winter, his child Anas has contracted a skin disease from the polluted water, and his other child Mira has the flu and needs money for medicine.

They have only raised €5 today! They deserve better than this. Please help this family out.

Living conditions will not be the only thing for these three families to worry about for the upcoming winter. There's also the question of food. A few days ago, it was reported that Israel’s siege now blocks 83% of food aid reaching Gaza. That means 83% of required food aid will not make it into Gaza, up from the 34% that did not make it in 2023. That means the average Gazan eating two meals day will now drop to just one meal every other day. This makes the recent post @/omgthatdress made yesterday telling everyone to report people who send fundraiser asks, and just donate to aid organizations instead, that much more harmful. Guys, there's hardly any aid coming in! From July-September 2024, fresh meat prices have increased by 366%, and fresh fruit 228%. Please give Gazans a chance and donate to vetted fundraisers if you can, so they can at least buy their own groceries. When the cold weather sets in, people naturally become hungrier. Children cannot survive off of one meal every other day. A couple, whose dream is to go back to school and start a family of their own, cannot survive off of one meal every other day.

In other news, there has also been an update from the Mona Abu Hamda Team, who run a mutual aid fund which provides essential supplies such as blankets, food, flour, charcoal for cooking, sanitary products, and financial aid for necessities such as baby milk. There has apparently been a decrease in donations, and they are currently sitting at €75,639 of their €100,000 target. Please also consider donating to them to help Gazans out this winter.

My friend Ahmed and his wife Maram's campaign to escape Gaza picked up some traction yesterday but has started to stagnate again, with its last contribution being 17 HOURS AGO. I don't know what to say at this point to convince people to donate other than repeatedly begging, they are young parents with 2 small children and a 1 year old baby to care for. I hate to crawl back and be a beggar but things have gotten dire with our elderly dog Sable. She's stopped eating and is becoming dangerously thin, and unfortunately all the money we bring in goes towards food and paying for our motel room each night. We have an appointment set up for Monday, but:

Our car battery keeps dying due to bad battery cables so its a gamble if we can even make it to the appointment in the first place.

HELP NALO GET TREATMENT!

Hey guys it’s me again, Nalo (my 14 y/o cat) had been doing much better since his last hospitalization happened, but as of yesterday his health took a dive and we took him to the vet.

We had to decline hospitalization because we couldnt pay for it (last time it was around $1500) but even with the medicine we got sent home with, Nalo hasnt gotten any better, he barely walks around, is completely lethargic and he’s stopped eating entirely too.

I’m waiting for the vet to reply to my message with an estimate for how much it would cost to have him admitted because I worry about him, but I’m using the previous bill as a reference.

Abod is fundraising to evacuate his wife, 1-year-old daughter, parents, and one of his brothers. His father uses a colostomy bag, his brother is diabetic, and his mother is receiving blood cancer treatment in the West Bank (yes, funds are still needed to move her across the border with her family. Where she is now, she is completely alone). Abod's baby girl Leen was also born premature, and her health is delicate. Leen had been refusing milk. She is doing much better now and is in good spirits, but she has visibly lost weight.

The other night, while my husband and Abod were messaging, an i*raeli quadcopter fired into Abod's home. Thank God, no one was hurt. But Abod explained that this is a regular occurrence -- these quadcopters fire into homes late at night to frighten, maim, and kill Palestinian families at random. As you may have seen in my previous post, Abod's third story home is almost entirely without walls, and thin blankets are the only thing between his family and the occupation's ammunition. The remaining walls of his home are already riddled with bullet holes.

so this is very embarrassing but i tanked my laptop yesterday (a week before submitting my thesis. everything is going great can you tell), my bike got messed with so i gotta go get it fixed, and this time next week i gotta print my thesis and have it bound three times. all of this will land me at several hundred €€€. i can get my bike fixed in spring or live without a laptop and study for my finals in some other way technically, but if anyone would like to chip in, that’d be super appreciated 🥺🫶

My friend Ahmed and his wife Maram's campaign to evacuate Gaza has STAGNATED at only ONE donation in 2 days. Ahmed and his family are nervous when their funding stops as they rely on this money to survive, and after almost 1 year of displacement and death surrounding them in Gaza, they are eager to finally raise enough to both escape and live off of when the time is right.
