What's you opinion about using AI like chatgpt as a tool for writing?
Not talking about just using it to write your story for you! I mean as a tool.
For example, sometimes when I'm bored I give it a stupid prompt and ask it to write for me. It does a terrible job and doesn't actually make what I imagine. Then I make my prompt more and more specific, until I get to a point it actually wrote something kinda like I wanted but still badly.
At that point I'm frustrated enough with the output to be like "fuck it I'll do it myself" and just completely rewrite the whole thing. Just get over the first draft writing block and jump straight into a second draft. (Haven't put online anything I did using that method and haven't used it for anything that I plan to put out)
There's also using it for research, like I recently asked it to give me a list of improv exercises because I couldn't really find a good list online just by normal googling and I'm writing something about improv, and then asked it to generate a bunch of words related to improv and acting and other stuff in my story to find inspiration for a title for the story.
And then there's using it to generate ideas which is a really tricky thing, because we all know nothing it generates is original. But I think there's methods you can use to get inspired without actually stealing other's ideas - like asking it in general for an idea for a conflict, and then trying to apply it to your own story in your way.
I feel like, in the right way, it could actually be a useful tool without taking over creativity.
I'm also wandering if you think there's a difference between using it for published writing and fanfiction.

Ok slay we’re progressing well. I’m planning on having 3330 finished by 5:30pm this afternoon. I have a tutoring kid online for an hour, but that shouldn’t be too much of a setback.
I think I’ll finish 3330 and then make my cheat sheet for 3349 tomorrow. I also have a ChatGPT-generated practice exam that I should do. Because I’m saving the actual practice exam for tomorrow morning before my exam.
That should only take like 1.5hrs, so I should have time to make a cheat sheet tonight. I’ve already made a list of things I want on it, so hopefully that will act as an extra bit of revision.
Also, completely unrelated but Anna randomly called me last night at 11pm. She was like « I haven’t spoken to you in agessss » and I had to stop myself from saying « and who’s fault is that? » Then she gave the phone to arabella who told me they’re on a trip in Thailand and they’ll be back on the 8th July.
Anyway, idk how to feel about Anna contacting me. Also, she was on a group trip, so idk who else is with them… She seems to have kept in contact with ppl from barker in a way that I haven’t. For a second I felt a bit inscure because i don’t rlly have a group that I’m still in contact with from school. Like yes I still talk to individual people, but not a group. But I think I restored some of my confidence by reminding myself that there rlly were no groups that I felt a particular sense of belonging to anyway. So, yeah I did feel a bit sad that these ppl are going on group trips to Thailand together, but then I reminded myself that I’m happy with my life.
Sometimes I imagine myself as part of Nick fazl’s group, mainly because it was a bit homoerotic. But when I break it down to the people in it, I really didn’t like any of them. Nick fazl just lives in my brain as a missed connection that really wasn’t a missed connection.
Anyway, so yeah I don’t feel eager to reconnect with Anna. I think our 1.5yr separation sort of tells you everything you need to know about that friendship. And I think it honestly feels a bit disrespectful for her to think that we can just make up like that.
I had this chat with my mum, because Emily from the French society popped up to me out of the blue and I was drafting a text that basically was going to say « oh don’t worry about it » and pave over the whole thing. But my mum was like « why are you undervaluing yourself and making it seem like she can just ghost you for 1.5yrs and then come back into your life with one apology? »
I rlly hadn’t thought about it like that. Because to me, I’m taking personal power by forgiving her anyway. And it’s not like I actually am moving on. I’ll always keep the knowledge that she showed me who she was and how disposable I was to her in the back of my mind. For now though, my strategy was to make it seem like everything was fine so that I could reinfiltrate the group — sort of like I had a superordinate goal that would be facilitated by me acting like I was fine with what happened. But the conversation with my mum reminded me that I can still achieve that goal without degrading myself and ignoring my actual feelings. I don’t need to submit completely in order to reintegrate.
She also pointed out that it makes me look desperate and flimsy if I just get over it, because it’s basically saying « you can dump me whenever you like and I’ll just come back like nothing happened ». And a rule that I’ve sort of accidentally formulated recently is the idea that if you for whatever reason fall out of my life in an environment of acrimony (or even if we lose touch), then I’m not going to let you back in.
What would have changed to make the relationship work this time around? My guess is usually nothing.
And I think I’m quite a good judge of character (if I do say so myself) so that if I close the door on someone, it’s usually for a good reason that is grounded in multiple instances and maybe even a conversation about the topic to gauge their awareness of it.
Instead of framing myself as Nathan no friends, I’m trying to turn it around and say that I’m actually just selective about who I let into my life. And I don’t rlly have that much room in my life for people who aren’t committed to being there.
So yeah in summary, ive had two people reach out to me whom I haven’t spoken to in a year and a half. And im taking back my personal power by not just welcoming them back in with open arms. They will have to earn their way back. Actually, not even. Like I said, if they left my life they left for a reason that was pretty fixed. So, I’d say neither of these two girls are coming back into my life.
And it hurts esp with Anna because I feel like strategically, she might be a socially advantageous friend. So turning her down would mean turning down possible social occasions. But is it worth the disturbance to my peace? I don’t think so necessarily.
Idk I’m still torn because I think if I went into the situation with the knowledge that I wasn’t going to invest and I would just float above the surface (which really isn’t my modus operandi in friendships, so it would feel quite foreign), would that mean I could do it?
But I’m also getting ahead of myself here. Anna just drink dialled me from Thailand. That doesn’t necessarily mean I’ll be hearing anything from her when she comes back, let alone whether she’ll want to re-establish a friendship.
I do remember arabella saying that anna was open to reconnecting, that she didn’t have anything against me. But I think the fact that she hasn’t in 1.5yrs (sorry I keep typing it in numbers cos I cant be bothered to do it in words) tells me all I need to know about my worth to her. I’m not something you can just drop and pick up when you feel like it again. Like « oh I’d like some Nathan back in my life and then when I’m bored I’ll get rid of him again ». I’m trying not to work like that.
It’s 4pm so I should go back to studying, but now I feel like a brain break. ESP since I’m telling myself I have 1.5hrs to do two more weeks of content. Except it’s not like I just get free time when I’m finished 3330. I have other things to do — you can always be doing something! That’s the mantra that runs my life, maybe to an unhealthy degree

The AI Real Estate Revolution Is Here (And It's Kind of Mind-Blowing)
OK so I'm not usually one to get super excited about "industry trends" but something WILD is happening in real estate right now and I need to share it with y'all.
Remember how real estate agents used to work? The endless cold calls, the cheesy bus bench ads, the "Just Listed!" postcards that went straight to your recycling bin? Yeah, that whole game is being completely flipped on its head.
What's happening is honestly kind of sci-fi
I recently talked to this agent who went from closing 2-3 deals a month (which is already decent) to handling 10+ LISTINGS AT ONCE. But here's the kicker – she's working FEWER hours than before.
How is this possible??? Two words: AI implementation.
No, not the "I used ChatGPT to write my property descriptions" kind of AI. I'm talking about comprehensive systems that basically create a real estate agent CLONE that works 24/7 without complaining, getting sick, or asking for a raise.
Let me break down what these AI systems are actually doing:
1. Finding likely sellers BEFORE they even decide to sell
The AI analyzes thousands of data points to identify homeowners who are showing "pre-listing behaviors" – like suddenly researching home values, looking at moving companies, or browsing homes in other areas. It's basically predicting who's going to sell before the person has even called an agent. Lowkey creepy but also genius??
2. Having actual conversations with potential clients
Not just sending automated "Do you want to sell your house?" texts. These AI systems are having FULL CONVERSATIONS with people – answering their questions about the market, addressing their concerns, and then booking appointments directly onto the agent's calendar.
One agent showed me a transcript where a seller was like "But I'm not sure if now is the right time to sell" and the AI responded with current market data specific to their neighborhood and explained why waiting might actually cost them money. The seller booked an appointment immediately. 🤯
3. Following up FOREVER without getting annoyed
Let's be real – most agents give up after 2-3 follow-up attempts. These AI systems will follow up for months or even years, maintaining contact with potential clients until they're ready to make a move. And they never sound desperate or frustrated!
4. Creating personalized content for different types of clients
The AI can tell if someone is more analytical (send them market stats) or emotional (send them stories about happy sellers) and adjusts its approach accordingly. It learns what works and gets better over time.
The results are actually insane
Agents are handling 3-4x more listings without hiring staff
They're spending 80% less time on their phones doing follow-up
Their lead conversion rates are going up by like 300%
They get to focus on the parts of real estate they actually enjoy
Here at 5D Solutions, you can learn more on our website how we are implementing these systems for agents. There's this one agent who went from considering quitting real estate altogether to becoming the top producer in her market in less than 6 months.
BUT... (and this is important)
The agents who are killing it aren't replacing themselves with AI. They're letting AI handle all the repetitive, time-consuming tasks so they can focus on what humans do best: building genuine connections, negotiating effectively, and providing strategic advice.
As one agent put it: "My AI generates and nurtures the leads. I show up, be human, and close the deals."
If you're curious about how this actually works in practice, check out some case studies on their YouTube channel. They break down the whole process in detail.
My take
The real estate industry has been operating basically the same way for decades. The agents who embrace this AI revolution now are going to have such a massive advantage over everyone else still doing things the old way.
It reminds me of when social media marketing first emerged and some businesses immediately jumped in while others insisted it was just a fad. We all know how that turned out... 👀
