just saw a post from @oldbutchdanielcraig, and am now BEGGING u to make a lewis-marker mega post or essay. give the people what they want!!!

it’s interesting to me bc even burroughs’ can’t seem to decide how marker felt. i saw in one source he describes how marker told him he wants to be friends without sex but bill told him that he couldn’t do that, going on to say lewis marker doesn’t like the sex but does it anyway (can’t rmr the source now). but in the everything lost he says something like “he only wants my fucking, not a relationship bordering on insanity”. i find it fascinating but i imagine you have more insight and information on him so🙏🙏🙏 when you find the time and will and are ever wondering if people would be interested in a marker doc, the answer is YES! people is me!

hi hello anon heyyyy! i love talking about marker so much so that i’m digging quite literally anything available on him (it’s bordering on insanity fr). he’s such a mystery and hence very fascinating. each of bill’s friends hated his guts, his biographers dismiss him because they rarely focus on bill queerness as it is (which is crazy to me). it’s about time someone writes something about him.

the quotes you mention are both from bill’s letters to allen, which, as you cleverly pointed out, seem to highlight just how hot-and-cold marker was towards bill. i’d argue that no one who was 1) straight 2) didn’t care at all about bill was going to put all the effort marker ultimately put in his (toxic) relationship with bill. both of them clearly unable to truly severe their bond despite marker’s attempts.

so to answer you: YES, i will compile a mega-post on him and what we know and what i theorize after countless hours spent trying to solve the rubik’s cube that is his sense of self.
