it's kinda nothing rlly. robot voice introducing the album. it gets you hyped up in the live show tho. but just like the album as a whole, it's a skip!

9. parachutes

more of a demo than a title/transition track. it's like a cut verse from shiver maybe

8. a head full of dreams

honestly i just don't listen to it enough but i do like it. it fits the theme of the album and i'm sure it's fun live! also their kids are on the backing vocals that's so cute!!!

7. moon music

again w the robot voice but it's longer so it's better than mots. coldplay loves a string moment and i can't blame them, that jon hopkins fella is pretty good at his job! someone said you can hear chris pressing the keys and pedals on the piano and idk i like that detail. the lyrics are kinda fucked up but i like it, less of the classic coldplay corniness and more vulnerable

6. mylo xyloto

it's fun! it's cute! it gives you a taste of the album to come and it flows well into the next track! i love xylophones!!

5. viva la vida

well it's a classic what else is there to say. i'm just a puppet on a lonely string awoahhh

4. everyday life

i love that it's the closing track i think it sums up the album very well. one of the last Band songs where it feels like a collaboration between the members. i miss this version of coldplay and no one gets it </3

3. ghost story

technically not a title track bc they're stupid and kept it as a bside. probs the rawest chris would ever get in his songwriting so... might be why it's not on the album lmao. it's so good tho

2. x&y

what a beautiful track. it's in the middle of the album and it does feel like the perfect midpoint, the way it builds and makes you feel like you're on the precipice of something.. also i love how jonny's guitar harmonises w chris, it happens all over the album and it's one of my fave things, coldplay songs used to have chris and jonny's guitar harmonising!!!

1. a rush of blood to the head

one of, if not thee best coldplay songs. it has this sort of darkness to it that doesn't feel suffocating if that makes sense? it's bitter, it's nihilistic, but there's still a glimmer of hope somehow, which is what the album is, to me anyway. would it kill them to relearn the chords and play this live again??

Many thanks to @nbhdsc4ss Sorry for responding until now, here are my answers. These are the nine albums I listened to lately, old but beautiful.

1-. Another Life: Mark Stoermer's first solo album is wonderful, it was a perfect start.

2-. Dark Arts: This album is a not-so-dirty dirty rock psychedelic trip, it's just magnificent.

3-. Filthy Apes and Lions: This album is splendid. While Brandon Flowers was stuck in the 80s and Dave Keuning in the 90s, Mark Stoermer gives us the best of the 60s and 70s, just like on his first two albums. I would like Mark Stoermer to release more albums but without leaving The Killers.

4-. Louder Than Bombs: This compilation is extraordinary, what is there about the Sánchez (The Smiths) that has not been said.

5-. A Hard Day's Night: It is very difficult to choose a single album by The Beatles, however this album gives me a lot of joy.

6-. Out of the Blue: It's not easy to choose just one ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) album, but this album is super extraordinary, it has its roots in a certain space branch. 😉

7-. Parachutes: Like the Beatles, it's hard to pick just one Coldplay album, but without sounding like a bitter Oldplayer, Coldplay's current albums lost something along the way.

8-. Hot Fuss: Like the Beatles, it is very difficult to choose a single album by The Killers, almost 20 years have passed this album and I still love it.

9-. Day & Age: This album by the Killers did not make as much noise as the other albums, but without a doubt this album is magnificent, even though Mark and Ronnie never accepted the song called “Human” (btw, it's favorite song of my young brother).

1-. Náufrago by Siddhartha: it's such a fucking cool album, very personal imo. I've fell in love with him recently and it's one of his bets albums.

2-. Únicos by Siddhartha: yeah, I just got obssesed. And I love this album because matchs perfectly with my feelings for my boyfriend (hehe, lysm Luka <33).

3-. Moctezuma by Porter: OMJ, this is a fucking master piece, like, it's about my country, it has indigenous musical influence (yes!!) and talks about a historical topic such as the Spanish Conquest. And with its ending, always so nostalgic, it reminds me of my history classes when I was a child.

4-. Cosmophonic by Robersonic: okay. This dude is underrated. This album doesn't have a single phrase in any of its songs and yet it shines on its own.

5-. Everyday Life by Coldplay: such. a. perfect. album.

6-. X & Y by Coldplay: yeah, more Coldplay. I think it is one of the band's best albums that they themselves hate it so much ;(.

7-. Viva la Vida or Death and All of His Friends by Coldplay: I must say that I'm Mexican and this album is fucking inspired in British history from the 1700s-1800s, and I understand it perfectly because, in my childhood, I watched a (British) program called Horrible Histories and... I've always been a fan of history, so I loved that detail in the album and in the entire atmosphere/aesthetics of the era!

8-. Lover by Taylor Swift: I'm not a fan of Taylor or I particularly enjoy hers music. But a friend of mine (and my boyfriend!) recommended (forced) me to listen to this album, and I quite enjoyed it.

9-. Lámina Once by El Cuarteto de Nos: it's a short but really fantastic album, with a mix of genres and styles that has always marked the Cuarteto.

I was tagged by @flamingplay , @blueberry-beanie and @aheadfullofdreams2204 to do this little Q&A, sorry for the late reply... I was at a festival and didn´t use tumblr for a while 🙈 Q1. Do you have favourite Coldplay album/era? If so what and why? It´s Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends! I do have months where I listen to other albums more, but in the end whenever I play this one, it just re-inforces my love for it. The songs are diverse, the lyrics are poetical, the flow of one song to another, the outfits during that era... all of it together harmonizes in an amazing way! I never counted it, but I have a feeling that most of my favourite songs are from this album

Q2. Favourite Coldplay song for when you’re sad: Tough question... I think the scientist? When I´m sad I normally do the mistake in grabbing AROBTTH or X&Y... which makes me even more sad 😝 but sometimes you just have to let it all out

Q3: Favourite Coldplay song for when you’re happy: Viva La Vida. But generally when I´m in a good mood, I listen to MX and Ahfod

Q4: X Marks the Spot, A Whisper, Princess of China, Fun: yay or nay? yay! nay when I first got mx it was a yay... but it quickly switched to a nay yay! (I always try to sing Tove Lo´s part, I´m sorry for my neighbors lololol) 

Q5: Best Album Art? The last 3 albums were all great, mx, gs and ahfod all have so many details in it! Since I love to draw and I tried to re-draw some of their album art in my coldplay-fanart, I discovered so many little hidden insiders, personal things added by the band and lyrics... The members were involved in each of them (everybody in mx and ahfod, mainly chris in gs) and I really love their collaboration with the artists on the covers

Q6: Have you ever seen Coldplay live, if not - would you like to? I did! 5 times 😊 I saw them in Munich during the mylo xyloto tour and in Zürich, Berlin, Munich and Warsaw during the ahfod tour Hopefully I can see them again in a couple of years!

Q7: If you could make Coldplay perform one song live, what would you choose? I really, reeeeallly want them to play Moving To Mars! My first choice, Strawberry Swing, became reality during the Zürich concert,,, and I´d love them to add Amazing Day back to the setlist (and get rid of asfos or sjlt instead), since it was such a beautiful song to be played life! During that performance, everybody put their phones away and Chris made the whole stadium wave to the “oooh part”... I got chills 😩

Q8: What would your reaction be to meeting the boys in the street? Haha, I´d most probably smile from ear to ear, shake like a chihuahua and stutter a “have a great day”, and then regret for the rest of my life that I didn´t take a pic with them to make sure it wasn´t just a dream 😅

Q9: The Chainsmokers, Big Sean, Rhianna: yay or nay? a wobbly yay  i don´t know yet nay In my opinion the collabs are oriented for the radio audience... simple lyrics, catchy tune, but it lacks some depth to them. Even yesterday the guy from the radio station that I listen to compared the synth-melody from somthing just like this to a sportscar engine 🐸☕

Q10: Carpool Karaoke or Three Boring Songs? I love the Carpool karaoke clip but there is something about the three boring songs that makes me laugh out loud everytime I watch it :’) Q11: What song are you most hyped for on Kaleidoscope? Have you preordered the EP?

I love All I Can Think About Is You since I heard the live version from Tokyo! Can´t wait to be able to listen to it on my phone without opening youtube haha! 

Q12: Do you consider yourself an ‘Oldplayer’? naah, I started listening to them during the mx era... but I love their old songs, and whenever they drop something that is not in the asfos/sjlt/hftw direction but instead they go in the clocks/aictais/moving to mars direction I get even more  hyped!

Q13: In your opinion, 4 or 5 members of Coldplay? i - I mean they even list Phil right after up&up in the credits at each concert. He even.. he oficially IS a bandmember

Mostly Parachutes. Well, it gives off such melancholic vibes that is very relaxing and the songs never fail to make me smile

2. Favourite Coldplay song for when you’re sad:

See You Soon. In case you are wondering why, I see this song about a relationship breaking up, be it about friends or lovers. Next in line is Amsterdam. That song describes a suicide for Pete’s sake!

3.Favourite Coldplay song for when you’re happy:

Yellow (the studio version). That colour is the epitome of happiness! It’s so sweet how could I NOT feel happy. Runner ups are We Never Change and Sparks. It makes me smile and fantazise about being in a relationship

Ghost Stories obviously. It’s depressing, minimalistic in colours, but yet intricate in detail. A bit like me in a way. Next up are Mylo Xyloto and A Head Full of Dreams. Both are colourful in terms of art, wardrobe, and music

6.Have you ever seen Coldplay live, if not - would you like to?

Seen live? Not yet. Would like to? I would trade anything just to see them face to face (except my organs and my virginity obviously)

7. If you could make Coldplay perform one song live, what would you choose?

Just any song from EPs, rarities, or the least played really. I’m just in to hitch a ride on the fandom train *choo choo*

8. What would your reaction be to meeting the boys in the street?

I would fangirl first of all. And then I muster up the guts to ask them politely for a selfie and autographs

I’ve grown up with AROBTTH and X&Y, it makes me remember my childhood and because of this time I’m a coldplayer now. But I love Viva La Vida (well and every other album!) the same way... Of course the AHFOD era is one of my favourites, because I could finally see the boys live!!! 😍

Q2. Favourite Coldplay song for when you’re sad: Trouble, We Never Change, Gravity, O, sometimes Magic.

Q3: Favourite Coldplay song for when you’re happy: Viva La Vida, Strawberry Swing, Birds,... generally the whole AHFOD album.
