Do you have more from your onho wercat au?

I think I do, but probably only a few hundred words of that au got off the ground and the rest were notes. I'm not sure I even got to the meeting of Jonghyun the runaway from the other side of the river where the wolf enemy live. :(

I could try to dig it out of my docs and post whatever it was I wrote of it.

I do remember Jinki just wanted to sleep and eat and have no responsibilities, like most felines. lol

Nature Spirits AU – First meetings

(Onho / 2min / Minkey / Jongho)

⚡️Tae first comes to the island following Jinki, ends up sort of friends with Minho oops. ⚡️Doesn’t visit that often? But likes to send Minho nice warm rain to make sure his plants are all doin ok. ⚡️ Likes to send lightning sometimes just to ruin island naptime. ⚡️When Taemin falls off his lil cloud, Minho puts him on his shoulders and grows into a tall tree to help him back up into the sky (usually after Jinki makes a million “did it hurt...when u fell from heaven” jokes)

The treasure hunt had gone well. Jinki’s waves and Taemin’s storms had riled the water up enough that a good amount of sparkly stuff had been brought up; Taemin had made three or four clouds for collecting stuff on and Jinki had filled all of them up. All that was left was the divvying of goods. Normally, Taemin took the gold stuff, Jinki took the colorful stuff, and they divided silver between them til it was equal. Today, though, Taemin noticed Jinki something in his pile.

“Is there something hidden in my pile?” he asked.

Jinki quickly looked away. “No, not exactly.”

“Is there something in my pile that you want? I know we decided years ago how to split our treasures but if you want to trade a few things once in awhile I don’t mind.”

Jinki looked at the pile again. “I was just thinking that flower brooch is really pretty.” Taemin rummaged around through his pile til he found that Jinki was referring to. He didn’t see anything special about it so he wasn’t hurt that Jinki had asked for it.

“You can have it if you want, Jinki. I have a bunch like this at the hideout.”

Jinki’s face lit up. “Really? Thanks, Tae. Is there anything of mine you want or would you rather more silver stuff?”

“I’ll just take more silver, if that’s ok.”

They continued sorting in relative silence. After this long they knew what objects the other liked so there wasn’t much debate on what pieces went to which man. When it was time to part, Jinki pulled the flower brooch out of his net bag and looked at it again with a smile on his face. It was the first time Taemin had seen such behavior out of him.

“Jinki, are you ok?”

“Yeah,” he replied, looking up. “Why, do I look sick or something?”

“No, I was just making sure.”

“Oh ok. I should get going. I’ll see you next time, ok? Have fun with Kibum!” Jinki said, turning to leave. Taemin watched Jinki turn into his water form, keeping an eye on the treasure bag as he disappeared. Curious as to why Jinki was so pleased with a mediocre flower thing, he decided to follow him for awhile.

Eventually, they reached what seemed like an uninhabited island. He watched Jinki turn back to his human form and yell, though he was too far away to hear what he was yelling at or for. He inched closer, keeping clouds close to him in an attempt to stay hidden. When Jinki didn’t move back towards the forest but kept talking, Taemin scanned the beach to look for another person but the only thing nearby was a patch of flowers. Jinki pulled the flower thing out of his bag and held it out towards the flower patch. Taemin turned round to make sure his treasures were all still behind him. When he looked back, the flower patch was gone and there was a boy standing with Jinki, holding the flower thing. In his surprise, Taemin fell out of his cloud and right into the water. He felt the water moving him and realized Jinki must’ve had a hold on him. When he washed up on the beach, his cheeks were burning red in embarrassment. He should’ve just gone home but no he just had to follow Jinki to this island with the weird plant boy thing. He laid on the beach when he heard the two walking towards him, trying to avoid the inevitable ‘why were you following me’ conversation.

“Hey Tae, you ok?” Jinki asked.

“Jinki? Oh yeah, yeah I’m fine. Just slipped was all.” Taemin replied, trying to sound surprised.

“Uhhuh. I’m not going to ask why you’re here, but since you are here you should say hi to my friend Minho.”

Taemin looked up at the boy behind Jinki. He looked friendly enough and seemed excited to meet another person. The flower thing was pinned to his shirt and around his head was a ring of similar but much more realistic looking flowers.

“Weren’t you a flower a minute ago?” Taemin asked, attempting to stand up.

The boy laughed and held out a hand to help him up.

“Nice to meet you too. Yeah, I was. I usually am. But it’s much easier to talk to Jinki when I’m in person form. I’m a plant spirit person thing.”

“Oh. I’m a storm spirit. I play with clouds and lightning and stuff.”

“I figured, though you might need to work on the cloud bit a little.”

“Minho lives here by himself and grows flowers, so I like to visit him. I found this place a while back when I was on that shortcut expedition,” Jinki explained. “I try to stop by every once in awhile to check on him.”

“Oh. So that’s why you wanted the flower thing?” Minho and Jinki laughed together.

“Yeah. That’s why I wanted the flower thing.”

There was an awkward pause for a moment and Taemin decided that he should probably make his exit.

“Well it was nice meeting you, Minho. I’ll see you next time Jinki.” He waved and headed towards the water.

“Taemin, how are you going to get back on your cloud?” Minho asked.

He turned round to face them. He had forgotten that he wasn’t on his cloud; honestly it had been so long since he’d had Kibum to help him back onto it that he wasn’t quite sure how to do it on his own.

“If it’ll help you, I can put you on my shoulders and if I turn into a tree I should be able to give you some height if that’ll help?” Minho offered.

Taemin nodded and walked back onto the beach. With Jinki’s help, Taemin was on Minho’s shoulders quickly.

“Just try to hold on ok? It’s been a long time since I’ve done this. When you think we’re high enough just tap me twice ok?” And with that, Minho began to transform. Taemin tried to hold on as they suddenly jolted skywards. After a minute, he tried calling a cloud. When it came easily to him, he tapped Minho. When they stopped moving, he jumped onto the cloud and headed skywards. When Minho had safely returned to person form, he waved.

“Thanks! I’ll try to visit soon! I’ll bring you more flower treasures!” he called out. Now to just remember how to get on and off of clouds easily in the future.

i was watching onho’s radio interview from yesterday and at some point they were discussing about minho moving out of the dorms and jinki said that naturally whenever minho walked in he’d knock on his door and go ‘hyung, are you there?’ but now that that kind of sound isn’t there it feels a bit quiet 

so a little after someone sent a message saying: ‘minho, (let’s) move back into the dorms again’ and he said that he does think of jinki a lot and considered doing it but then he told himself ‘if i were to go back, that room would be too small’, so the radio host asked if jinki could move to his house with a great view instead and minho said ‘hyung? he could, but there’s no room’ and jinki replied that it’s true, he visited and there really wasn’t one ....... that entire segment was so cute :(

5. hold my hand 44. puppy love 

What is puppy love? Minho’s been trying to figure this out for weeks, ever since one of his friends- Jonghyun- decided to call him out and say that what Minho and Jinki have together is called puppy love. When Jinki left on a month long trip to Africa, Minho knew that it was time to settle these thoughts without pressure.

At first, he thought it was a love that children share. A love with no physical attachments: just a need to be together and to share joyful experiences. A love free from selfishness but a deep pining for the other that guided your actions.

Then, he thought it might be something shared by children that are a little older. Not quite children, not quite teens. Children who were still innocent to the ways of adulthood drama and the rebellious nature of teens. Children who knew more than they did before, and felt the world they lived in change. But they held on together, as partners to this change. Together they blindly followed each other regardless of the consequences, lived new experiences each day, like a first kiss, perhaps that was puppy love?

He thought about the next stage of life. Was puppy love that feeling you felt when your crush walked by, and your face heated up? Was it when your palms got sweaty? Was it when your love was blind to anything anyone else said about them, and you knew they were what you wanted? Was it this love in the face of your own ignorance? 

Was puppy love something adults could share as well? Was it the warmth as you cuddle with no hidden intentions, was it the need to hold on tightly when you have to say goodbye? Was it holding hands and never letting go? A love that held no ‘sparks’ and ‘flames’ that some say is required of love, but is no less warm or comforting. Maybe that was puppy love.

Then, what if all of that is true? What if it’s everything he thought of? Is puppy love truly just an innocent, warm love that went beyond friendship and held its own special intimacy?

It was the day before Jinki was supposed to return, and then Minho thought, “Is puppy love what I share with Jinki?”

He really didn’t know. It’s hard to reflect on your own actions and feelings when you didn’t concentrate on them in the moment. Did he really blush often with Jinki? Did he really love kissing him just to kiss him? Did he really feel the need to spend every minute of every day with him just for the sake of it?

He didn’t truly get his answer until he saw Jinki coming out of the airport, all smiles and sunshine despite the jetlag. Then he felt the warmth that simply being near the other gave him. He felt his lips quickly shape into a full smile that he never intended. He smiled until his cheeks hurt, and kept on smiling.

He felt so happy with Jinki that he felt like he could burst from the bubbly feeling. Perhaps it is puppy love?

wip of an onho au wherein onho are living overseas, are married and adopted one child and had another through a surrogate. part of the au has been sorta written and posted somewhere, but I had been working on a new fic partly based in that au. so this idea of their family unit had me in the feels and needed to try drawing them.

not going to pretend I didn’t have some aid with my new art program that provides 3d “dolls” for posing and proportions as aid in this. (I wish this was all me haha rip@me).

anyway, it’s been held up because I can’t figure out how to color it to what I want to see, which is watercolors. even paid for some brushes, and still can’t get the look I want, even after 200+ layers worth of work... so it’s been sitting in limbo, much like it’s wip fic. :c

Ok so I’m going to give this a go and try and get this answered! Sorry this has taken me so long!!

1) Yes! Jinki is my bias! He is everything sweet and lovely- and effortlessly sexy! I adore him because he is a kind soul and a good leader! His smile makes everything bearable when I’m not bearing up well.

2) Yes! I do think that Jinki is the most shippable because every one of his ships doesn’t just work- it really works!

My first SHINee ship was Onkey they are the most understated of the group but the most equally balanced imo. Kibum loves Jinki but he doesn’t worship the ground he walks on and Jinki knows that and is ok with that. Kibum lets Jinki be Jinki, and Jinki lets KIbum be Kibum. Kibum lets Jinki be the dorky goof with the weird puns without judging him for it, and Jinki lets Kibum be as wild and free as he wants while still grounding him and being a safe place. 

Then I meandered over to liking Ontae. This is a total cuties paring! Here the two of them are both enamored and think the other is sunshine- which leads to Jinki bursting his buttons wanting to promote Taemin every chance he gets and to Taemin not being able to shut up about Jinki. This ship is like first love- shy, and sweet, and soaring. (And also pretty possessive about each other lol). I pretty much think they have an unconditional love for each other, nothing could surprise, nothing could really damage it at this point. 

My fickle heart got super super into Jongyu from there (in the on-ship timeline). They have ended up being my second OTP overall- and I honestly don’t even remember how. It was probably fic- well let’s face it- it was most definitely fic lol!! (I just don’t remember specifics) Jongyu is a really precious pairing because I think they are both really soft towards each other, and really protective over each other. They are hard and soft melding together and that combo isn’t exclusive to one or another- they both can be strong and determined, and dominating- but they are just as likely to flip-flop and be tender and gentle, and amenable to the others wishes and desires. They are very supportive of each other- and super affectionate towards each other too! I just love them!! 

More recently I’ve gotten into all the merits of Onho as well- something that doesn’t come as easy since I see Minho as intrinsically connected to Kibum. ...But I'd really have to be dead not to enjoy the sweetness of this pairing! In my tags I call them ‘starry eyes couple’ because every time I see them interacting that’s what I see. What they have is like the ‘first high school crush’ and while Minho showers Jinki with praise and love Jinki responds by seeking our his companionship and his care, and, his touch. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Jinki be as willingly physically touchy with anyone but with Minho. I think Jinki feels safe with Minho, and that Minho feels proud of Jinki who’s this person that makes everything rosier for him personally. 

NOW...

Having said all that....

3) No, Jinki isn’t in my OTP. It seems ridiculous to say that considering how long I’ve just ranted on and on and onnnnn about all the beauty that is all of Jinki’s ships- but, well, I’m weird. 

And I have a weakness, an Achilles Heel so to speak... I love ships with friction. They sink me every time!! Whether it’s Castle/Becket, or Helen/Nicola, or Sam/Jack, or even back to the depths of my first childhood ship Felicity/Gus, ugh. they. ruin. me. 

Minkey was at first the pairing that I didn’t get- like, all they do is fight?? do they even like each other?? as people?? I thought the answer was no.

I was wrong. 

I got really into reading @minhosnoona’s one-month fic challenge that she did featuring all minkey fics and THEN I GOT IT. It wasn’t that they didn’t care about each other- it was that they cared too much. And there I had it- friction! But it didn’t stop at that, the more that I observed them the deeper in I got. Minkey are the ones that fight sure, but it’s never without love. They tease yes, but never without fondness. They are each other’s confidants and the trust between them is immense. Minho is the first one to defend Kibum, and Kibum is the first one to list off all of Minho’s best qualities and the things he admires in him.They do all the sweet little things to take care of each other, but they also are merciless in their mimicry of the other. Kibum throws himself all over Minho knowing he’ll catch him, and Minho has learned to let himself go to return the favor. Minho is the one Kibum brings his problems to and Kibum is the one who I think helps Minho get out of his own head when he feels down. They work really really well together.

They match really really well together. 

And that is what flung me into loving them wholeheartedly. 

As much as I love all the other SHINee ships, and as much as I will ship all of them too (because I am shipper trash and I can’t help myself lol) Minkey are the ones that are always going to be it for me.
