I realized with Spellbound Blurr he rarely asks Shockwave questions. Which makes sense because anything he asks Shockwave seemingly has to answer. And Blurr’s not going to take advantage of that. But that also means that what Blurr does and doesn’t ask about says a lot.

The things he doesn’t ask about? Either he already knows the answers. Or what those answers would be just doesn’t matter one way or the other.

And the things he does ask about? Then those must be the things where the answers matter. And the only way he can find out those answers is from Shockwave directly telling him.

The few questions he does ask? They seem to be questions to get to know Shockwave better.

And maybe that says a lot about Blurr to. About his approach to people. Because Blurr could ask Shockwave to tell him everything about himself. Blurr could know everything about Shockwave. But he doesn’t ask everything. Because even if Blurr knew everything, he wouldn’t know Shockwave still. Because knowing someone is truly knowing them is also in the experience of sharing moments with them and seeing who they are. Not just a collection of facts and details.

Blurr knows that. So, he doesn’t pry. Doesn’t try to unearth every little detail that is personal to Shockwave. Doesn’t ask about all the specifics of the acts Shockwave has had to carry out as a demon.

The main two questions he asks are questions that, more than anything else, seem to be aimed at understanding how Shockwave felt and how Shockwave feels now. And Shockwave’s feelings — why he feels that life is no longer worth living, specifically — is something that Blurr can only find out directly from Shockwave talking about his experiences.

He doesn’t ask about what it physically means to be a demon. Doesn’t ask for the process behind the curse. Doesn’t ask about the what ifs or other ways things could go. Because those things don’t matter. (And perhaps too Blurr already knows some of the answers? Because he seems to know quite a lot about demons to know immediately what would kill one permanently when Shockwave asks if he will uphold his oath.)

Blurr could ask Shockwave for everything. But in the end, he only asks to understand.

And maybe that — that in all this the understanding is still what matters most to Blurr — shows more than anything truly how deeply he cares about Shockwave.

everything about the wasps in bug fables is horrific if you think about it for more than a second. I mean there were probably dozens if not more wasp fatalities from the wasp king treating them so horribly but. those wasp’s loved ones might not even be able to tell or care until they weren’t under the crown’s control. am I making sense probably not but hear me OUT imagine you’re just a lil wasp fella and one day you just kinda start losing control of your thoughts and feelings, maybe you don’t have any idea of what happened during that time, and then all of a sudden you snap out of it and next thing you know everyone is Fucking Dead

Admittedly im no hardcore tartaglia fan so idk what kind of discussions you guys are having over there but i feel like i always see people talk about his traumatic past in the abyss or the fatui but what about his childhood. What about the fact that he is basically just some country bumpkin in the fatui. I like to think that the first “weapon” his father made him learn how to “wield” was an axe, not to fight people, but for chopping wood for heat fuel for the house at The Grown Age Of 6 Years Old. I dont know much about the climate in snezhnaya so i cant tell you if they’re able to grow a lot of crops in the summer or if it really is just an everlasting snowstorm there but i can feel it in my bones that whenever his mother was gardening he was called outside to help her weed out the crops (is that what you call that process in english???). Do you think his favourite dessert was kissel or something, or maybe those sugar rooster lollipops they would sell at markets. Do you think he ever slid down a snowy hill so fast he crashed into a tree. Do you think he would beg his mom to bake him a honey cake each year for his birthday (with his help, of course).
