João Vitor nasceu em São Paulo e desde cedo foi fascinado por duas coisas: a arte de contar histórias e a música. Formado em Publicidade e Propaganda pela USP, ele começou a ganhar notoriedade ao postar covers no YouTube, onde sua voz marcante e interpretação sincera chamaram a atenção de um público fiel. Hoje, com quatro álbuns lançados, João é um cantor reconhecido por sua autenticidade e por não ter medo de se expressar — em sua música, em sua arte e em sua vida. Em parceria com a Adidas, ele lançou sua própria linha de tênis e uma blusa icônica chamada “Meninos e Meninas FC”, que celebra a diversidade, a liberdade de ser e o orgulho de amar sem rótulos. A peça se tornou um símbolo de representatividade e estilo, cruzando fronteiras muito além da música.

Neket versus the Vampire

Neket didn’t expect to find a vampire lurking in the vast, dark decks of the nautopolis White Darroya, a ship so large it carries an entire city. Unprepared, she has to rely on her illusions and her wits to outsmart the bloodsucking undead. It seems like the vampire has found her, but is this really Neket, or one of her clever illusions, placed there to lure the vampire out of hiding?

Character: Neket, Moon Elf Illusionist Wizard

Neket is a gifted young wizard from Timinhur, an elven city with strong ties to the moon. She has studied all schools of magic but has a certain inclination towards illusion magic that twists the perception of reality and dazzles the senses.

After remaining trapped in a cryophagus for sixteen years, Neket had to flee Timinhur to escape the Selenian Idea, an ambitious coup that turned her nation into a sterile and oppressive regime, and transformed most of its people into spellforged constructs, able to survive on the barren moon of Naam.

Now on the run, Neket must rely on unlikely allies to remain free and perhaps find a way to help more of her people escape the oppression of the Selenian Idea.

Neket is one of my own characters in Theomachy!

About the Theomachy setting:

In Theomachy, vengeful gods fight each other for ultimate control of the universe, while the mortals of Naam struggle for power on a dying world. Divine magic is a force without expressed will that the warring gods hoard and wield against each other, threatening to undo the entire world. Clerics and paladins are either devout followers of the warring gods or theomachists who fight against the gods, liberating divine magic and using it against them.

Folks, Last night I spoke to Brian Lewis, the attorney that originally led the drafting of the OGL 1.0 as an employee of Wizards of the Coast, who was very supportive of the opposition to the changes. Today, I received the following email from him, directed to me and numerous other studios and interested parties. He asked me to share - I have edited only to include hyperlinks that do not survive copy-pasting. I am not sure what to make of the URL of the second one.

(The following is Brian Lewis' letter.)

"I could use your help. Our firm believes that it is crucial to our industry that it have an agnostic open source style license that provides designers and publishers clarity on what they can readily use from a publisher’s game without having to pay lawyers to research or defend that use. The mere threat that the OGL, a tool that has widely been perceived as working toward that goal, could be unilaterally be modified or withdrawn casts a chilling specter of doubt and uncertainty on the gaming industry.

As the person that came up with the legal framework behind the OGL, and as an invested custodian of our industry, I feel a powerful desire to drive a project to create the OpenRPG License which is envisioned as a truly independent open source license (of the kind that did not exist in 1996 when I started conceiving of this). Ultimately, this needs to be in the hands of a recognized and respected independent open source community hub that functions like Linux.

Today we would like to announce this effort and create a hub for socializing and refining the OpenRPG License. I am hoping that you can help by letting me know if you support this, and if so, if you would be willing to share a message on your social media platform(s) roughly along the following lines:

I believe our industry needs a new Open RPG License that will be system and publisher independent. My friends at Azora Law (OpenRPG@azoralaw.com), an intellectual property law firm that represents several game publishers, came up with the legal framework for the original OGL over 20 years ago. I trust and support them in shepherding a broad effort to create an agnostic open source style license that provides designers and publishers clarity on what they can use from a participating publisher’s game without having to pay lawyers to research or defend it. They will also find an appropriate independent, non-profit home for the new Open RPG License.

If you are an interested publisher or designer, I encourage you to join the effort and provide input and feedback on drafts of this license."

Character: Ayra, Nature’s Daughter, Wood Elf Druid

Ages ago, Ayra lived happily as an ordinary wood elf hunter in the ancient forest of Sylendil until the endless armies of Gorg, the self-proclaimed god of war, burned it to the ground. Desperate and about to be killed, Ayra sought refuge in the mystical Otherwood, a dimension of raw beauty where Nature reigns supreme and time bends like a branch in the wind. Her unshakable love for the ancestral forest and the mortals she left behind manifested as primal magic in Otherwood, transforming her into a powerful druid.

Reborn as Nature’s own daughter and charged with restoring balance in a world ruined by cosmic war, Ayra has returned to spread the gift of druidic magic to those willing to oppose the warring gods.

About the magical markings on Ayra’s body:

The Wood elves of Naam often have nature-themed markings to signify their connection to Otherwood. The original elves, known as dryads, ancient elves, or first elves have such markings by the magic of Otherwood. Ayra became lost in Otherwood and transformed from an awkward hunter to a powerful druid. Her living markings signify her transformations and intensity of Nature’s magic as it surges through her.

Ayra is one of my characters who became a legendary hero and became part of the broader lore in the Theomachy setting as an important NPC. She is now vastly powerful, commanding transformative magic that empowers others to become champions of nature. In game terms, Ayra grants nature-themed blessings (including relevant feats) and even allows characters to change their subclass to become champions of nature (usually druids, some ranger subclasses, paladins of nature, or fey warlocks, as well as any subclass that makes sense lore-wise.)

So for those of you who don’t know. I have been focusing on a project I started in October of 2016 called OpenRPG. ORPG aims to be the one stop workbench for creating content for tabletop RPG’s. Currently I am focusing on Wizard of the Coasts Fifth Edition of Dungeons and Dragons. Once the project is fully function for 5E, I plan to expand to as many RPG’s as I can.

On top of being a program the average player/DM could use, it will also be a C++ Library for use by developers to implement tapletop RPG rules into video games! Please please please give the blog a follow!!
