"Absolutely positive."

"But what if-"

"Em," you gave your friend a severe look. Emily always tended to be too kind, but this time you could not let her sensitive nature make your plan fail. "Might I remind you that we are cruelly losing this battle of pranks? Jared, Embry, and Quil have been launching us. This is our time to make a stand."

"I know but… I still feel a little bit bad about it."

"Do you remember when they put confetti absolutely everywhere in the house? We had to clean that mess for weeks. I think there is still some confetti on my body in places where there shouldn't be."

Emily was a neat freak, she did not tolerate any mess. You knew how she hated that particular prank and how it would be an easy way to rile her up. You smiled when you saw her gaze suddenly turn very dark and resolute. Bulls eyes. Without further questioning, she joined you.

Your plan for retaliation was quite simple, but you knew it would hit your enemies right where it hurt. After a few internet searches, you settled on baking the most horrible and foul muffins known to the human realm. The boys were huge eaters so first, you knew they could never resist the temptation of a hot basket of muffins. Second, they were all known for their sensitive stomachs. It was a classic yet very effective prank. You looked like mad scientists incorporating literally any ingredients possible into the mixture giving it a strange color.

"I don't think it can get worse than that," declared Emily as you looked at the finished product.

You examined the bowl on the counter, feeling like you were missing an essential element. "Wait! There's one more thing we can add."

You went over to the pantry and proudly held up the bottle of extra spicy sauce the boys were keeping for special occasions, aka when they wanted to burn from the inside out.

Emily applauded your genius and watched excitedly as you dropped some in the mixture, then some more, and just a tiny bit more until you had poured at least one table cup of hot sauce into the bowl. If the original mixture didn't make them sick, this would for sure.

"This is a work of art Em, we can be proud of ourselves."

You high-fived and rapidly cooked the muffins before the boys returned from their run.

Your opponents were werewolves, with incredible sense of smell. So you knew you had to be smart about it. Especially since they knew a prank might fall upon them at any given moment. You had planned everything to a T. When returning home, Quil, Jared, and Embry were usually the ones who came in first, which you counted on as you didn't want to prank the rest of the pack. Emily had smartly accounted for the boys' suspicion and made sure to bake two safe-to-eat muffins from the batch so you could fool the three guys into eating.

You made sure to use food coloring to give the muffins a rich brown color and sprinkled cinnamon along with a few other herbs on the muffins to make sure they would smell mouth-watering. You cleared away any hint of your actions and did it so well that when the boys arrived, no one could ever think something was going on.

You welcomed them joyfully with your best angelic smiles. As expected, it didn't take them long to notice the muffins, Quil even going as far as reaching out a hunger-crazed hand towards the bowl.

"Wait," suddenly cut Embry with a suspicious look in your direction. He slapped his brother's hand away. "What's the special occasion?"

Like professional actresses, you and Emily looked at each other. "Since when do we need special occasions to bake muffins?"

You rolled your eyes when Embry bent down to take a big whiff from the basket, but still lost a relieved breath when he didn't seem to smell anything out of the ordinary.

"Why aren't you two eating any?" skeptically asked Jared.

"Because we ate so much filling we might puke but if it reassures you I don't mind taking a bite."

You reached your hand out for Emily to pick the safe muffins from the basket and prayed she didn't mix them up. You leveled your stare at the boys and took a huge bite.

When the cinnamony and chocolate flavors hit your tongue you sighed with relief, putting your reaction on account of the amazing taste. "Delicious as always."

Your performance seemed to reassure them but they didn't grab any yet. Anxiousness rose in your body, you needed to get them to eat before the others came in.

They were still hesitating when Paul barged in, quickly kissed you on the cheek, and grabbed a muffin.

"Paul wait-" "Gonna take a shower," he muffled between chewing.

You stared at the doorway through which he disappeared, astonished. It happened so fast. You couldn't have warned him or else the other three would have known something was up. You turned to look at Emily with panic in your eyes. Her face blank, her hands gripping the counter. Both of you were paralyzed. What should you do? Were you taking it too far by letting your boyfriend eat the nasty mixture just so you wouldn't raise suspicions?

You stayed paralyzed in the dilemma when finally Embry, Quil, and Jared each grabbed a muffin as you and Emily stared in silence.

They had eaten a good half of it when suddenly you heard Paul screaming and cursing in the bathroom. Everybody looked in the direction of the sound when he stumbled in already wet from the shower with a towel wrapped around his hips.

"WHAT THE FUCK WAS IN THESE?"

Immediately, the three other boys looked at each other, then at you two. As if Paul's apparition had triggered the effect of the baked goods, sweat started dripping down their face, a disgusted rictus twisting their mouths.

They stared with horrified expressions. "What did you do?" asked Embry before he ran for the kitchen sink.

Even if you felt guilty Paul had been caught in the crossfire you couldn't help but feel a deep satisfaction as you stared at the three boys pushing each other and fumbling to get a sip of water. A sentiment clearly shared by your partner in crime when Emily said with an innocent smile. "What did we do? We baked you some yummy muffins of course. Isn't that right Y/n?"

"Why yes, we even added a few special ingredients to make sure you guys loved them." You added with a mischievous smile towards the three crying grown men still fighting for access to fresh water.

"That'll teach you right for putting confetti everywhere in MY house," finished Emily, leaning close to them.

They looked at her with what was sure to be fear in their eyes.

"I'm done I'm calling dibs on the bathroom sink," moaned Quil as he ran for the tiny room.

"I'm taking the hose outside!" cried out Jared.

Emily and you couldn't keep your cool from your devastating victory and started dancing around the kitchen, the grunts of pain in the house the most delicious melody to your ears. You were still laughing when you heard heavy steps enter the kitchen. Paul was standing in the doorway, still wet, still with a towel on but this time there was a half-drunk milk cartoon in his hands. A few droplets slid down his chest and the view might have even been appealing if the expression on his face wasn't so terrifying.

He took a step in your direction. "Baby I promise you weren't supposed to eat one of those. It was only for them. I'm so sorry!!"

"You could have warned me, tell me to stop,” he growled.

"But then they would have known. I'm so so sorry my love I promise I'll make you forgive me."

You kept walking back, hands up. Never a half-naked man had scared you this much.

"Oh, you will definitely pay for this." He dropped the milk on the table nearby. "And I think we will start by giving you a little swim in the cold sea."

"Paul it's freezing outside today!!" You protested with a panicked look towards the foggy forest.

"Should have thought about that before sweetheart.”

His lips curved in a diabolical smile as he leaped. You screeched and ran outside knowing damn well there was no way you could escape this.

As much as I'm tempted to say explorer mode for raid maps, I'm going to instead say capstone job quests. Y'know like the level 80 ones we got in shadowbringers? I want those back so bad. I don't mind the role quests. It makes sense with the sheer amount of jobs in the game to try and focus the resources of the writing team a little more. But its such a wasted opportunity to not have at least one job quest per major expansion. I think they'd be a perfect opportunity to idk... talk about the new super cool attacks the WoL has cooked up for their job between the last 10 levels and further the player's engagement/connection to that fantasy.

Idk, I'm probably seeing this from a very particular point of view since I play summoner and that's a job that's deeply tied to in game lore. I would like solar bahamut much better if Arsay turned to the camera and said "I was trying to summon Baha but I started thinking about Hydaelyn and this new type of guy popped out.". It doesn't even need to be that explicit!! Maybe you can tie in how looking at electrope in s9 and discussing how arcane geometry can be used to change elemental aether has gave the WoL the idea to experiment swapping or mixing aether types while summoning their demis and egis. It could be anything! It could even just be catching up with out job mentors again and having fun!!!! Im still bitter about the lv 80 summoner jobquest being more concerned with catching us up on fordola's situation than hanging out with y'mhitra and digging up more allagan nonsense or talking about how we can summon pheonix now. (even tho i really like fordola! its just felt out of place especially since other job quests where focused on job quests characters.)

with nightmare, they really do love him and could never find it in themself to hate him, even if they acknowledge that corrupt nightmare isn’t the boy who read books under the tree or who they called their brother. [and it does hurt them to fight him constantly but they just hide it incredibly well] / for ink, OHHHH, it’s so complicated- they love him SO MUCH and hates themself for the doodle sphere incident that separated them. ink dislikes them as well so that doesn’t help one bit— they do eventually want to make up for it but can’t find the motivation to do so.

he doesn’t like or hate aus, but he prefers quieter ones with lesser demands for his job as opposed to the busier universes that feel like they can use them for anything they want.

she has the habit of very blatantly telling people she doesn’t want to do work, which gives her a… not great reputation? for pet peeves it’s simple favors because they were so used to abuse caused by constant ones they have a lot of trust issues with those

they really enjoy being with families with younger children. it reminds them of a childhood they never had.

this doesn’t happen as much as it did before the doodle sphere incident, but when it does it’s usually to nightmare’s gang antics or people pissing them off more than usual. whenever it happens they either know and don’t care or they notice and go somewhere else to calm down. i also have some planz for a writing system, i planned for it to be an abudiga rather than an alphabet bc alphabets are overdone XD also an abudiga would just work for a language like finnish. (in theory—i need to figure out the wisest way to do diphthongs since they're supposed to be a unit)

i did mention i would mangle ewokese words for this tho, so... that's another goal.

Hello! I like your work and I was wondering if you could do a one-shot idea for either Macaque or MK with a gender-neutral reader. The prompt idea is that the reader has a scar on their arm somewhere and the other person accidentally grabs on that part of the arm, causing the reader to shove them away and look startled/scared for a moment. But after a second they calm down and acts that it never happened and if asked by them they get unnaturally cold towards them and continue to say it didn't happen. (Sorry if the format is confusing/awkward I'm not used to typing online)

Macaque / Liu’er Mihou!

You and Macaque are something along the lines of partners, he’s one of your only friends and you’re one of the very small few he tolerates beyond his average scale. Work colleagues at least and very close at best, you help him out with his work because unlike some people you’re remarkably capable in your line of business, and he admires your achievements— there’s no mess he could leave behind that you can’t clean up. You’re something of an assistant to him, helping him organise his deals and collect his due when necessary, but on occasion you might lend an experienced hand in aid as an accomplice, your abilities are nothing to scoff at, after all, how else could you call yourself a friend of the six-eared simian if you went at least up to his own standard. Though you weren’t as competent as Macaque himself, you can hold your ground if need be, at least, which makes you suitable if not ideal for him to work with.

Though a lot of your background story is shrouded in mystery, he doesn’t really know what your deal is, but since you don’t ask him personal questions about his dramatic past, he respects you in kind and doesn’t ask anything beyond his bounds, he knows where you limit him. All he does know is that you’ve been in the industry for much longer than he has, whether it’s a cause for concern is yet unknown to him, but it’s not strange for folks like yourself and him to wind up in this kind of work. It had just simply been by matter of circumstance that you’d come to work together, whatever made it easier to earn more, you’d suppose.

Tonight however despite the careful, intricate planning considered beforehand, the job had been a total bust thanks to a crude but admittedly unintentional mistake you had made. You’d managed to escape outside through the crossfire and under the cloak of night, fleeing without a trace, they weren’t able to follow after you—

but Macaque would not be pleased with these results especially since your slip up meant he had to scuffle with the clientele himself because of it. You weren’t sure what impression to expect when you next regrouped, but you tried to keep your hopes low and pleaded with whatever god of luck may be lurking to pity you some and alleviate his anger, if only partially.

Fortunately enough though you were just glad you both came out unscathed by the ordeal, but tensions were high between you and your partner over it. With your back to the wall and head hanging loosely between your knees from where you sat positioned on the floor, you assessed any damage that might’ve occurred without your potential awareness, ignoring the sharp gaze of the monkey who's back turned to you, dismissing his mood as you surveyed your legs in concern.

“What was that?” He spoke, seeing how you weren’t going to indulge him with an answer to the night's prior events. With his back still facing you in an arrogant disposition that teased at his agitation, you didn’t really feel the most inclined to humour him, unwilling to put up with his attitude. In response to your silence he sends a dreaded, sharp glare toward you and you relent, shoulders falling in defeat. Maybe you could be an easy foe, but it’s been a long night, plus it’s Macaque. It's fine, be quiet.

“What was what?” You feign ignorance, swallowing dryly as his stare remains cold, exhaling through your nostrils forcefully in a strained sigh. “It was an accident, alright? Don’t get your tail in a twist, it wasn’t something we anticipated.” You dismiss, rising to your feet at his disapproval. It was a truly silly mistake, your cover was blown and the whole espionage went up in smoke and sirens, but it was fine, he just had to realise that. You just wished he’d suck it up for once, he’d made mistakes before too, maybe not as disastrous as today but it wasn’t fair for him to lash out on you for one failure when your track record with him was as solid as it is. “Are you alright, though? I would’ve stayed to help but I thought it would’ve only inconvenienced you further, I didn't want to anger you more by burdening you with my presence during a large scale fight like that.” You hesitantly approached him at that, the aftermath hadn’t been the prettiest and he had to get quite involved in order to escape the whole ordeal, so your concern did stem from a place of genuinity.

In return for your concern he shoots you a look, grabbing the arm that reached for him with a stern and increasingly tight grip. “Do you know how much money we lost—“

He was quickly cut off by your cry of distress, yelping at the sudden force against a very large, very personal scar that resided up the length of your inner arm. It was something mostly hidden from view, hanging at your sides with your arms in resting and wearing long sleeves can make the antique wound seem oh so unnoticeable. But the grief it had caused you over many years was triumphant and the potent memory of how it was received is still fresh in your mind, tender and as pulsating as the scar under his vice hold. You quickly lashed at him until you were freed, cowering back a few steps and wincing at the ripe sensation. It had never healed, and you assumed it never would no matter the amount of remedies you tried. Macaque had attempted to release his hold earlier upon your initial reaction, it was unlike you to flinch if at all and now you’d instinctively retreated away from him, a sullen but sure gaze of hurt in your eyes that shocked him.

You’d always been one to hold yourself to a high regard, you were admirable and courageous, and he had been sure to withhold his strength to a lesser extent— it definitely was not him that’d hurt you, right?

Seeing his surprise, you took a brief moment to recollect your composure, gently returning your arm to rest once more idly by your side with a disgruntled sigh. He seemed to sit in a silent anticipation, as if expectantly waiting for an explanation out of you, but you’d be damned if he were ever to receive one after he’d snapped at you, returning back with a smooth, even tone. “Whatever we lost I can compensate again later, even if it means taking on some of my own jobs to reimburse you for your damages if it’s just so important to you.” You’d note, dusting yourself off and brushing past him like the entire altercation hadn’t happened at all. He seemed rather perturbed, following your figure closely before he tugged on the fabric of your top to halt your exit.

“What was that?” He repeated, as if only an echo of the former anger when he’d asked the question earlier.

“What was what?” You’d parrot, forming a thin line with your mouth and turning away, leaving the monkey to welt in a small pool of guilt. He’d have to apologise, even if he was a little confused by the situation.

MK / Qi Xiaotan!

You’d been a rather long time friend of the newly named Monkie Kid, though you couldn’t hold a candle to the extensive history of he and Mei, but you’d met the two some time after they’d become besties and you were pretty much, without so much as a word of complaint, adopted into the now trio of hero hooligans. A mostly unwilling, low key thrilled to be included participant of their many shenanigans and various escapades. Of course you and Mei were close as could be, but if you had to understand a scale of reference you’d consider yourself maybe closer to MK, you’re often the one who convinces him to console in you when he needs someone to talk to and you’re willing to hear him out until the end.

Nobody really knew where you came from, though. One day you’d just up and appeared and you were great! So no questions were really ever asked, especially when there wasn’t a need to, they’d known you long enough even before MK had been crowned the official successor of the monkey king, you weren’t a suspicious person.

Well anyways I apologise for the cut off, I will update this when I can when I finish this but well, my house flooded a little while ago and it caused mold to grow under the floorboards so we’ve had to fix the plumbing and then organise for the floors to be stripped and replaced so the mold can be dealt with yikes, so I’ve been struggling with writing lol, but the show must go on so I’m posting this preemptively.

I hope this doesn’t sadden you too much, I will still be working on this and I won’t move on to another request until it’s done but please be patient with me. Everyone else is reliable at least, they do what you summon them for. You never know what to expect with Belial! sometimes you get lucky and he gives like, massive plain damage to the enemy every few turns, or charm them, or gives you bonus that would heal you upon using skills! Othertime this bastard charm YOU, gives damage to YOU, and stuff like that.

This is how we end up comparing him to Lucifer again. Lucifer would never treat us like that.

What i find funny too is that for a while i was using Belial in all of my teams (i still do sometimes but these days i press FA and forget about it when it's not in Dark so i dont come back to do it), and i would just, machinally activate Belial as soon as he's available.

Which i was doing with my Earth team, completely forgetting that i have Grand!Sandalphon in my backline, which i have him here because he has very high survival especially when he's the last one standing, but therefore he can also come in the front while MC is still in the game.

Which. Is. Unfortunate because of how Belial will laser focus on him until he's done, so it means none of the good buff or debuff (and none of the bad ones at least?)

But it means Belial will pull this thing where he'll put this special buff/debuff on Sandy of "reactivate CA twice" and "boost CA damage at the cost of 49% of your HP for both attacks". On Grand!Sandy. Who cannot be healed. Who only heal under very specific countering conditions.

The amount of time i would play Earth without thinking and then suddenly Sandalphon comes up front and i realize i've Made a Mistake. I'll never forgive Belial for this.

Today’s compilation:

1996 Grammy Nominees 1996 Pop / R&B / Adult Contemporary / Pop-Rock / Hip Hop

I have a bunch of these Grammy comps, so I’m not gonna go on some kind of extended rant each time that I post one, but I’ll just say that some of the songs that the American Recording Academy has given awards to over the years are real headscratchers. Like, did you know that the Baha Men once won a Grammy for “Who Let the Dogs Out?” Truly amazing stuff. 

And there’s some headscratchers on this comp too, like “One Of Us” by Joan Osborne and “I Can Love You Like That” by All-4-One being nominated for song of the year; just incredibly corny trash. Sure, they’re fun to put on every now and again for nostalgic reasons, but they’re pretty clearly bad, unimaginative songs. How a group of industry professionals and experts could reach a consensus that those two songs are exceptional pieces of music and worth considering as quite possibly two of the best songs of the past year is beyond me. Like, the Oscars knows the difference between substantive art and big-budget superhero movie dreck, but the Recording Academy? Not nearly as much. Surely there were better songs out there in 1996 that deserved to be nominated than “One of Us” and “I Can Love You Like That” for song of the year. Like, thousands of them. And if we’re just talking popular pop and pop-rock stuff, how do you pass up on a song like “Carnival” by Natalie Merchant, for instance, which was a top-ten single in 1995? You can’t pretend like you didn’t know it existed.

I could go on, but I won’t.

Anyway, the Grammys aren’t certainly all bad all the time. “You Oughta Know” by Alanis Morissette and “Waterfalls” by TLC were nominated for some awards and those songs are both fantastic. But neither won in the respective categories that they were nominated for, which is also a travesty, considering what they were up against.

So episode two!!!!  Gah this was the perfect way to give Mando Man some characterization, he’s snarky and sarcastic and he’s got honor despite being a bounty hunter and he likes kids!!!  And he seems to be a little bit lonely, ya know with the lone gunslinger lifestyle.  He’s Soft and I must protect him even if he is literally the best in the sector at what he does and I can’t fight anything.

Dangit Favreau I’m already hooked I have been seduced by Tatooine, lovely Space Australia it is, and all the Lucas animals and the adorable little Yoda baby and asdfghjklsdkfsk it’s just making me so happy!  

The fanfic bug hasn’t bitten me just quite yet (which is honestly a good thing, I’ve got waaaaaay too many WIPs planned already lol) but I’m enjoying watching it a lot and I can’t wait to see others’ fanfic too!!!!

Thoughts on Netflix’s Locke & Key

Overall Rating: 6/10

 I really wanted to like this show. I mostly do, honestly. But there's just some parts that... just missed the mark. Or left me feeling confused.

Normally, I can binge through a 8-10 episode netflix series like a champ - aka in one sitting, but it took me about 4 days to get through this show, (just finished it last night).

I understand this is adapted from a graphic novel, but I just feel like the show itself doesn't know what it wants to be and in turn it left me feeling confused.

 I understand that we live in a time when damn near everything is evolving faster than it ever has - technology, which in turn changes our behavior - changing the way we watch TV, et cetera.

Basically - and I’m sure you all have noticed it too, but this industry is changing quickly. The way we watch shows and movies today is totally different than how we watched them fifteen years ago. Even ten years ago.

So the thought that this show, Locke & Key needs to adhere to old TV norms isn’t exactly fair, but at the same time, it helps me - the viewer, know in some way what to expect from the show.

I don’t mind having my expectations subverted, if it’s in a good way. I don’t think anyone minds that if it’s done in a good way.

 As someone who went into this with no idea what to expect, I immediately thought that this was Netflix’s answer to HBO’s His Dark Materials - some sort of epic adventure that the whole family can watch.

But they never went on an adventure and I could kind of sense that they weren’t going to be by episode 3 or 5 so that idea was quashed.

I then tried to figure out who this show was aimed for - teens 14-18? Maybe.

 The acting was okay. I think that the script wasn’t doing any of them any favors. There were some pretty clunky lines at some strange times.

I personally think the weakest actor was Emilia Jones, the actress that plays Kinsey Locke. Now, obviously, I’m no acting expert - there have been plenty of times when I felt like the acting in a show or film was pretty good but then all the professional critics online stated otherwise - or the exact opposite has happened - regardless, my point is I don’t consider myself to be a great gauge on someone’s acting chops.

I did, however, find Emilia’s to be pretty flat. I felt like there were a lot of scenes were Emilia’s emotion wasn’t appropriate or enough.

Overall, if I had to use one word to describe it it would be flat.

 I thought Darby Stanchfield, who plays matriarch Nina Locke, did pretty good. I feel like she did the best with what she was given. I don’t feel like the character was written very well, and again like mentioned earlier a lot of lines in the script just didn’t seem to work. I spent a lot of the show just confused by Nina Locke. I just didn’t understand the point of her character. She didn’t really have an arch, or if she did I completely missed it.

She just seemed to be all over the place, and I completely get that she just lost her husband, tragically, recently, but there are ways deep grief can be shown that make more sense than what I saw.

 I will say, one good thing about the writing - I think they did a very good job at writing a child - being Bode Locke, without making him unbearably annoying. I feel that most writers have a pretty difficult time with writing teenagers and children, but they did a good job here. Granted, I know this is an adaptation, so it could be that Gabriel Rodriguez and Joe Hill know how to write children well.

I think the actor Jackson Robert Scott did pretty well as him.

 Laysla De Oliveira, the actress that plays Dodge - I thought she did remarkably well in the role, but was unfortunately crippled by her lines. I remember in particular there was one scene where she had finished knocking someone down, (can’t remember who), and she says something really out of left field - obviously meant to be an insult, but it was just so what the hell?

 To sum it up for acting and the cast - I think overall the performances were pretty good, (save for Emilia’s) but they were all undermined by bad dialogue.

 Moving on to the story itself - I haven’t read the graphic novels, so I don’t know any of the lore or background, but all I can say is when I first started watching, I was excited.

I was excited to be introduced into this magical fantasy world of keys.

But to me, nothing much really happens with it.

I don’t think I would mind that as much if this were the first part of a film series. You spend the first film, laying down the groundwork, introducing all your characters, the background, and slowly bring the more supernatural elements and key lore to the forefront - okay sure, I can get behind that. Absolutely.

But to spend an entire 10 hour season, I think that’s overkill.

 To me, only really having one main villain was a problem. A lot of their fight against her just didn’t seem believable. There were either parts were I’m like, “seriously someone could’ve done something there’s 6 of you” - or parts were she was so OP, I kept thinking to myself “wait, that’s right, this is a fantasy/scifi show with powerful villains and these are just regular kids, with no weapons, training, or anything whatsoever”.

I’ve seen plenty of shows and films were there was only one villain, but it’s done well. I think the issue is she just doesn’t seem like a huge threat. I don’t feel like we’ve really gotten to know her much at all this entire season - her motivations.

  Also, there’s no key society? You have a giant ass mansion that’s been in the Locke family at least since the 19th century, (since great great granddad mentioned something in 1892), for I’m guessing the purpose of being “keepers of the keys”, but you’d think that that would have spread somehow to other families.

It is of course possible to have it all kept to one family, but I find that disappointing to be honest.

Maybe just have like one or two families out there somewhere… The Doorbells and the Knob family, baha.

 Overall, it’s an interesting story, and it’s one that can be enjoyed by the whole family with a PG-13 rating, or TV-PG I think.. so most of the whole family or the whole family if you’re that way (hey, I remember 8 year olds watching R rated films in elementary school).

I guess I should say it’s an interesting concept, but I don’t think the story was executed well. They set up what they needed to in the last episode for season 2, but honestly I don’t think I will be watching it.

A good story should leave you coming back for more and Locke & Key just wasn’t it for me.

If I had kids 11+, I probably would watch Season 2 with them since there probably wouldn’t be a ton of passable shows we could watch together.

i still remember vividly the way that night turned into something flabbergasted. even every each of sentences still weigh and haunt me up.

i ran into my best mate, dan ya straightforwardly she handed me a series of enlightenment and bitter truth.

terlepas dari semua poin yang aku keluhkan, salah satu hal pertama yang dia highlight adalah soal aku dan segala insecurities ku. dia bilang aku jahat (serius dia bilang gitu). tapi aku jadi beneran melek kalau hal itu emang beneran jahat, gak seharusnya aku merasa insecure hanya karena pattern hidupku gak seperti orang lain pada umumnya. behind every scenes, ada usaha terbaik yang mereka punya—dalam bentuk apapun.

how do we express our gratitude towards it?

i bet you can name it. hal yang patut disyukuri dan cara bersyukur itu sendiri sangaaaat luas tapi aku mau bahas salah satunya aja. meet, being thankful for your own—bersyukur atas apa yang kita punya including past event karena it brings us to our current condition, manage ourself dari segala hal to keep aligned with everything dan tidak memandang rendah diri sendiri, dan yang paling penting adalah selalu lakukan hal-hal baik untuk diri sendiri aka upgrading yourself to be a better person for your own good supaya kita gak mati. betul kata mba Eka, pada dasarnya manusia itu mati saat dia berhenti atau gak mau belajar. belajar menerima adalah salah satunya, including accepting of who we are dan sepaket termasuk the beauty and the flaws inside you. pasti sering denger deh kalimat "love yourself first before others". aku benar-benar memaknai secara penuh kalimat ini tuh belakangan ini dan ya, aku setuju. dengan kita yang mindful dan love ourself first, we don't need any approval from others dan kita merasa cukup, percaya diri, rileks, dan bahagia dengan diri kita. this self-acceptance and positive outlook bring us into the stage where we're able to share our love within others wholeheartedly. memang gak bisa dipungkiri kalau loving ourself thing ini adalah hal yang gak mudah dilakukan karena pasti ada aja hari dimana kita gak loving ourself karena satu dan lain hal, but please at least be kinder to ourself.

asking urself whether u're good enough or not itu baik, motivates you to keep on growing, tapi ada beberapa hal yang harus dilakukan secukupnya, ada beberapa hal yang harus dicukupkan, dan ada lebih banyak hal yang harus diterima. jadi jangan berhenti dalam prosesnya hanya karena orang yang tadinya diperjuangkan sudah gaada, tapi tetap berproses sebagai wujud kita menyayangi diri kita sendiri.
