Caleb & MC Bound by DNA

My god first off I was crashing out while watching the trailer I'm so excited for more CALEB LORE! I remember asking for more Sci-Fi content on a survey and they delivered! Soooo many incredible feelings, so I wanted to follow up on my Caleb as Donor 002 post.

Now we know that Caleb and MC were created from the same 'source' as he literally stated in the trailer. Seems it wasn't far-fetched to draw a connection between Eve being created from Adam's rib!

Taking a closer look at the structure of the DNA helix, I interpret 'source' as they are Cyborgs birthed from the same 'energy source'. The helix appears mechanical in nature with rippling energy currents.

It appears, in this new timeline, Caleb and MC are bound by their very DNA; his myth trailer included imagery of a metal double helix and the following text:

"The enigma behind the double metal helix... The promise you had since you were born."

"But the promise we've had since we were born, I kept that one." - Caleb to MC

Again, there is this imagery of being bound at birth, similar to how twins are (I mentioned the symbolism of twins/siblings and how they're often experimentation victims of Ever in the Donor 002 post). In this case, perhaps they are cyborg clones of the same energy core.

And if you're a Potterhead, you'll see that its a concept remniscent of Harry's and Voldemort's twin Phoenix Feather wand cores. One cannot survive without the other, both must die for one to be vanquished.

Twins, clones, whatever you want to call it**—** it's a pattern you can't deny, and now I'm convinced in the present timeline, Caleb and her are linked in more ways than they appear to be.

Also love how Caleb x MC haters got their panties in a twist and Infold was literally like 'LET ME SPELL IT OUT FOR YOU' *drops myth trailer* Kudos to them for sticking with the planned lore and remaining unfazed by the initial controversy. They had to prime everyone before dropping this, and the ones who get it, get it.

You can't tell me these aren't their literal wedding vows HAHA I'm sickkk. Caleb basically said: 'Till death do us part? I think not..' The look in his eyes is so intense too like damn ok i'm all yours for eternity my dude.

I think the promise they made when they were born refers to his promise to protect her always. It's a call back to their childhood memories about Caleb protecting her like a ring system protects its planet; they are born together and they die together.

Here's my thoughts on their A-01 and X-02 titles:

Caleb was distinctively labeled Donor 002 while MC was labeled Subject 001 in old experiment documents by Gaia and Ever.

In Caleb's very first intro trailer and his new myth trailer, his title is X-02. Respectively, MC is A-01. They are a pair represented by the concepts of Death and Rebirth, the ideal weapons to destroy one another, as we're all aware.

'A' may represent 'Alpha' in the concept of 'Alpha and Omega' aka the 'Beginning and the End'. MC can miraculously revive after dying via her Aether Core and can only be fully destroyed (and by proxy reborn) by the power Caleb wields.

'X' is associated with 'with death and rebirth, as it is thought to mark the end of one cycle and the beginning of another. It is also often seen as a symbol of change or transition, as it represents the crossing of a threshold.'

Pretty straightforward. All I experience is pain with these two, and I. Need. More.

In honor of Caleb's myth dropping, I'm gonna post my embarrassingly long Supernova theory on the pair soon since I gleaned more insight from the myth trailer tidbits. Now I'm not sure if I should wait until reading his myth so I can go back and edit or just release it as is.

Might have to split it up into a few posts with their own section so its digestible lmao. It's been a couple months in the making and while it includes the scientific concepts explained in the Bound by Gravity, United in Resonance video, I also weaved it into the lore and the direction of Caleb's story. I've been a full believer in the Supernova Catalyst theory since Caleb was released and I'm excited to share my thoughts on them so stay tuned (his eyes are literal supernovas)!

ok watcher thoughts after finishing* it

obviously spoilers under the cut. also this is a very long text post so it warrants a cut regardless

*i did the main ending but not the other one with the throne. i will be doing that next. these are just my impressions after the first ending. i may or may not make another post after i do the other one. if i feel strongly enough about it i will

quick preface i've been into rain world since around 2021. my hollow knight hyperfixation led me into discovering and playing rain world and eventually my fixation ended up shifting to rain world instead etc etc. the original game's been my jam for a long time. that being said my opinions on downpour have wildly shifted since it came out, and my final verdict is that i don't really care for it anymore (besides gourmand and rivulet. i still adore them cause they're very fun to draw but in my head i've pretty much divorced them from the plotlines of their campaigns. especially rivulet). 2ish years after the initial hype of "wow more semi-official rain world content! and relatively soon after i got into it!" i've fallen out of love with downpour from both a lore/story/writing perspective and a gameplay perspective. i think it's too fanonized and character/gimmick-driven (which of course is to be expected since it originated as a fanmade mod) and it goes a bit against the spirit of the original game, but that's something i'll be talking about later. the focus of this post is going to be watcher. i'm still going to make comparisons to downpour since that's currently rain world's only other dlc but i don't mean for this to solely be a downpour hit piece. i can still at least appreciate all the work that went into downpour, it's very well put together and i did very much enjoy it at release. but let's talk about watcher now

did i like watcher? yes!!!! a lot!!!!! but really only after the first couple hours of it though. to be totally honest i was genuinely disappointed at the beginning for a few reasons but it managed to turn itself around decently fast. when i got out of the starting area and ended up in industrial complex i had a whole "WE'RE BACK IN THE FUCKING VANILLA REGIONS AGAIN" moment since the teasers had really emphasized the new locations, but i'm really glad that that was a fakeout and i was proven wrong. there's so many fantastic new regions and i really enjoyed poking through them. initially i did feel like the region hopping didn't feel cohesive and i did have some qualms with the inclusion of modded regions, but as i progressed i did start to notice continuity/cohesion between them and the transitions felt less jarring as i started putting pieces together. i really really love the environmental storytelling at work and this really shone with places like cold storage (the lizard tubes!!! surely the answer was in a lizard skull all along!!!) and signal spires (the pyramid iterators!!! awesome callback to the original concept art!!!). i thought the modded regions fit pretty well too, to the point i didn't realize some of them were modded at first (i don't really play region mods to begin with though. the only ones i recognized were coral caves, badlands, and aether ridge from browsing raindb way back in the day. i didn't realize that stormy coast and desolate tract were mods until i spotted them in the credits).

the elephant in the room i'd say is the lack of clear direction and less focus on a Main Plot. i hadn't done any Serious full playthrough of rain world since my initial playthrough of downpour (most of what i've been doing since then are hunter expeditions because that gamemode is super super fun to me) and i think getting so used to downpour's handling of the gameplay and narrative really threw me off at first when it came to playing watcher. cause with downpour's campaigns there's a very clear sense of progression (especially with spearmaster and rivulet, those are essentially get to point A to point B and carry an Important Item to point C). but the original/vanilla campaigns are extremely vague especially to a newcomer, and hell you aren't even strictly required to visit one or both iterators if you don't want to or are doing a pilgrimage run. you do have the overseer occasionally showing up to point you down the intended route as survivor/monk but it's not immediately obvious where they're trying to take you on the first playthrough. and That Is The Point Actually.

as a slugcat you are an animal that's suddenly dropped into this vast world, and you aren't supposed to understand everything around you. and you're just like every other animal in being a part of this ecosystem instead of some kind of element separate from it. that's the main issue i have with downpour, the slugs are very gimmicky to the point that they don't feel like real animals, and the huge focus that their plotlines place on the iterators (this doesn't apply as much to gourmand, gourmand is perfect in every way) doesn't make you feel like just an observer anymore. in the original game, you're meant to just be a fly on the wall to these incomprehensibly vast godlike biomechanical creatures, not a key player in the plot on their level. and that's what the watcher really succeeds at, bringing rain world back to what it is at its core. of course you have the cloaking ability, but it isn't entirely foolproof and you have to work around its limitations. it's not a gamebreaker like saint's thanos snap where you can just blast a predator out of existence, you have to be tricky with it cause the predators can catch onto you, you're vulnerable when you're stunned at the end of its duration, etc. and even with the cloaking gimmick you're just an animal and just an observer to the outside world. you will not get to know every detail for sure about the life of the echo or the lives of those pyramid iterators off in the distance or the precursors passing by the window, but you can sure as hell speculate about it. which is the fun part! everything is vague in rain world so that leaves plenty of room for you to have your personal interpretations and theorize and make art and write fic. my point here is that i started having a lot more fun with watcher once i stopped treating it as downpour 2 electric boogaloo and more like an offshoot of vanilla where you're meant to really dive into the different locations and let yourself get lost in them as you figure out how things connect.

as much as i liked it, it needs to be said that watcher lacks a lot of polish. i imagine this is going to come in future updates but it does feel like it's been released in a partially incomplete state, at least when it comes to balance and general QOL stuff. as much as i enjoyed just wandering and exploring i Did want to eventually progress and see what was up with the echo and what all this had to do with the beginning cutscene. and i ended up looking up some of the echo locations and then getting the workshop mod that highlights regions that still have the echo in them cause i did want at least a little nudge in the right direction. i'd rather not publicly speculate on whatever's going on behind the scenes with videocult and akupara so i don't wanna necessarily accuse anybody of rushing watcher out for a release date, but i do think it would've benefited from extra time in the oven and more time with playtesting to really iron things out. also this is unrelated but i do kind of think there is a weird amount of dead ends in some of these regions? not something that majorly bothered me but i Did notice it. i'm excited to see what comes in the future updates though beyond these fixes

random other thoughts:

the music bangs especially verdant waterways' threat theme, it makes me think of the whoa zone from super paper mario? can't exactly place my paw on why though, maybe i just have that association because of the region's color scheme. i need to make time soon to listen to the full soundtrack cause there's a lot of banger tracks i heard that i don't know the names of

i love love love the new creatures, all i've ever wanted from new rain world content is new creatures (beyond just lizard variants) and they seriously delivered. I LOVE THE WHALES!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THE MOTHS EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE PLOTTING ON MY DOWNFALL. the crabs can go fuck themselves though

at some point i ended up in the rot infested version of industrial that i forgot the specific name of totally by accident and it was crazy when i realized what it was. infected crossroads moment

also i just need to say that going through ancient urban and actually SEEING the precursors WALKING AROUND was genuinely nuts. fantastic buildup from seeing the shadows passing above you when you're in the sewer to seeing them Right Outside The Window. just an incredible sequence all around

"Coming!" Aether shouts up. The blonde traveller hoists himself over a cliff and dusts himself off. His floating companion peers over the side of the mountain and looks down at the foggy valley beneath them.

"Everything looks so small from up here! Aether, look at that terrace near the water!"

Aether takes a look over the edge of the mountain as well and smiles down at the landscape below. "Oh yeah... it's real nice! Check out that river, too... the lotus flowers are very big..."

Paimon spins over to the side and points to a large, dense patch of fog. "Hey, look over there! What do you think is in all that fog?"

Aether thinks for a moment. "I'm not sure; do you wanna go take a look once we get to our destination?"

Paimon freezes, then looks away bashfully. "Paimon d-doesn't really do good with foggy places... maybe we could go someone else instead!"

Aether pats her on the head and gets up from leaning over. He then looks up at the sun and smiles.

I wonder what Qiaoying Village will be like. Hopefully, we can take a rest before we make it to the wharf.

Aether stops for just a moment. Paimon turns to him out of concern.

"What's the matter, Aether?"

The blonde traveller draws his sword and points to the distance. "What... is that?"

Paimon squints herself and suddenly lets out a shriek. "WAH!! There's something coming out from behind the mountain!"

The cliff beneath them suddenly begins to tremble. Aether grabs Paimon's hand and holds the fairy girl close to protect her. He points his sword forward as whatever was approaching comes closer. The trees behind them rattle, and the pebbles near their feet jump. Paimon was too busy panicking to notice what Aether had seen.

The cliff beneath them was cracking. The blonde looked behind them and tried to dash to the side. However, it was too late. The cliff came tumbling down, and with it went Paimon and Aether.

"AHHH!!!" Paimon shrieked. Aether put his sword away and covered her head to protect her from their fall.

"HANG ON!!"

A loud, reverberating voice called for them. Aether couldn't even turn his head to look behind them before something huge and dark came swooping in. Aether could feel his body hit something soft and warm beneath him as Paimon's wails kept going.

"Whoa, whoa! Calm down, I got you guys! Don't worry!" the unfamiliar voice reassures them. Aether turns and looks behind him. He then freezes.

Someone had caught them, but it wasn't just anyone. The one that had saved him was a giant...!

Aether rubs his eyes with his left hand to ensure he wasn't dreaming. Paimon realizes they have stopped falling and looks behind herself.

"WAHH!! A GIANT!!!"

The giant's passionate and sparkling eyes fill with worry as he lowers his hand. "Please calm down! I don't mean any harm; I'm sorry if I scared ya! My name's Gaming, what about you guys?"

Aether releases Paimon and looks down at Gaming's palm, which was what they had been caught in. He then looks up and puts an arm out to shield the fairy girl.

"You... won't hurt us, right?" Aether asks.

"What? No, of course not!!" Gaming's voice raises as he goes on the defensive, rattling the mountainsides again. Paimon covers her ears as Aether puts his hands up.

"H-hey, no worries! No need to shout, ok?"

Gaming sighs, blowing a gust of wind at the traveling duo. "Sorry about that... it just really bugs me when people assume I'm gonna hurt them just because I'm really big."

"Aether, let's go! Paimon's got a bad feeling! He's gonna eat us!" Paimon yelps, tugging on Aether's sleeve. Gaming looks offended by this remark.

"What?! Now that's outrageous! I'd never EAT someone! Who do you think I am, a monster?!"

"AHHH!! He's yelling at Paimon!!" Paimon wails. She hides behind Aether, who lowers his guard slightly.

"I apologize for my friend! She's just very jumpy!" Aether calls up.

Gaming shakes his head, but suddenly perks up. "Hang on a sec... I think I've got something she'll like- aha!"

Gaming reaches into his pocket and pulls out a wrapped snack. He then rips the package off it and holds the tiny treat to them.

Paimon stops being scared and peeks over Aether's shoulder. "W-what's that?"

"Winter Melon Cake! Kids at Yilong Wharf love this, so here ya go!"

Paimon curiously takes the cake and mumbles for a moment. "Paimon isn't a kid..." The fairy girl then takes a bite.

Her fear suddenly seems to dissipate completely. Paimon's eyes light up as she scarfs down the rest of the cake. "WOW! No one evil would ever give Paimon a scrumptious cake like that! All is forgiven now!"

Aether can't help but smile. Gaming laughs himself and lowers the two onto the ground. The giant kneels on one knee and smiles at them.

"See? Not so big and bad, am I?" Gaming asks. Aether turns to him and looks up.

"Sorry we got off on the wrong foot. And I really appreciate you saving me and Paimon. I'm Aether, and-"

"You're the hero of Liyue Harbor! I've heard of you, but I just never knew your name! You're awesome!" Gaming eagerly shakes Aether's hand between two of his fingers, rattling the blonde back and forth. Aether lets go and regains his balance.

"So... you must've been that thing causing all the shaking! You gotta be more careful, Gaming..."

"Oh my Seven! I caused the cliff to collapse?!" Gaming asks, horrified. He seemed incredibly apologetic as he bowed to them. "Please, forgive me! I didn't mean to!"

"Paimon HOPES you're sorry! Just for that, you deserve an ugly nickname! How about... Mr. Bigfoot?!"

Gaming gets up and tilts his head before laughing. "That's so silly! Ah, you're funny, kid!" He reaches a finger down and ruffles her hair, which makes Paimon angry.

"HEY! No fair picking on Paimon just cause Paimon's tiny!"

Aether can't help but chuckle. "So, Gaming, where you headed?"

"Oh! I'm on my way to Qiaoying Village; why?"

"You mind helping us out? We're trying to get to Yilong Wharf. Are we going the right way?"

Gaming stands up to his towering height and looks around. Aether can't help but feel intimidated.

Yikes... it's a good thing this guy's nice...!

Gaming points to the northwest and smiles. "Over there! I just made my most recent delivery there."

"Ok, thanks!" Aether calls up. "Paimon, if you're finished, let's go. Ok?"

Paimon eats her cake and smiles, rubbing her belly. She then floats over to Aether and eagerly points. "Ready!"

"Wait!"

Aether pauses and looks up at the giant. Gaming bends down and extends his palm to them.

"Hop on! I can carry you!"

"You sure? I wouldn't wanna be a bother..." Aether states.

"Yeah, I don't mind! Let's go!" Gaming urges them. Paimon smiles and floats into his hand, sitting down. Aether jumps in as well as the giant lifts them into the air and turns to the north. "Off we go!!"

With that, they were now well on their way to making it to Yilong Wharf.

I do it on my computer in my drawing software. If you don't have one, you can probably achieve just about everything that needs doing using this free software:

I'll break it down step by step how I made mine below the cut. there are lots of pictues. i hope this makes sense. we'll be recreating my Aether/Ardis one for this tutorial.

here is what we are going to do today

So step 1 is to download the template

I like using the transparent version because I find it easiest to edit for my purposes, but feel free to use the other ones as well if there's one you prefer. you'll just skip the first couple steps of this tutorial. Open it up in your software. I'm using Paint Tool SAI. It should look like this.

First, I'll drag in the background that I want and put it on a layer underneath the template. It will look something like this (you can also use a flat color, whatever you want)

Now I want to fill in the big boxes so that I can actually read the text, so I'll go back to the template layer and magic wand select the main bit of empty space (blue shows what's selected),

then invert it (there is probably a button for this on your software)

now I'll make another layer under the template and bucket fill what i want to be white

you can color in extra things you want to change the color of on this layer too, or just leave it as-is. I'm going to spruce it up a bit, though.

ok great. now i'm going to change the grey text boxes to be white because the light grey clashes with my pastels. this may not be necessary for yours. you can bucket fill those too on the main template, but I'm going to use what's called a clipping layer on SAI, which basically means that it's a layer that only draws on top of things that already exist in the layer under it (this may or may not exist in the software you're using, but do whatever works for you). so i'm going to make a new clipping layer over the template and color white over all the grey parts.

much better. it's time to cut out where we want our pictures to go. I find it easiest to work when I treat all the boxes like picture frames, kinda like how the ones in the bottom right are. there are other ways to do this, but this is my prefered method. so we're going to go to our template layer and magic wand select everywhere we want a picture to go (once again now highlighted in blue)

and delete those from both our template layer and our white layer. it should look like this now

so now all you do is drag in your pictures so that they're underneath your template, erasing any parts that stick out

and then you just add text and little rectangles and whatnot! (I added mine in a different program because my art software doesn't have a text feature)

I made a couple other adjustments to mine (black circle around the one photo, getting rid of the line at the bottom of the aesthetic trio) by just editing the template layer.

and that's it! all done! does that make sense? i hope that makes sense. if i skipped over anything vital or if that makes no sense, let me know.

Dew and rain had walked into the common room earlier, cooing over something he was holding and now they wouldn't let aether see.

"Thats it. Show me what you have or im taking it away" aether grumbled, rising from the couch and stomping over to the corner where dew and rain were huddled up. Rain whipped his head around and hissed, even though he knew it wouldn't make the taller ghoul back off. Without speaking, aether grabbed dews arms and shoved his hands apart

"WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT" he screamed. Jumping back

"Possum" dew mumbled

"We found it in the garden. his name is buio and hes our son" rain added, reaching out to pet it's head

"Where the HELL did you get a possum what the fuck" aether growled

"The garden, rain just said that. Dumbass"

"Ok well put it back! That shit probably has rabies!" Aether yelled

Rain pouted at aether before turning back to fawn over the little ball of fluff.

"Nope. Nope nope nope get it OUT" aether said, reaching out to grab the possum

"Run?"

"Run."

Rain and dew took off, speeding out the door and down the hall with aether in toe, screaming about how it could have diseases or what if it bites them.

Both of them ran full speed into mountians room, rain slamming the door behind them and leaving aether outside, still going on and on about how bad if an idea this was.

"What-"

Mountian was cut off by the door smacking against the wall with a loud thud.

"THEY FOUND A FUCKING POSSUM"

"aether wants to take away our kid" rain whined, hiding dew and the baby behind him. "Hes so mean"

"Alright everyone out. Lets go get copia and see what he thinks of this"

"Good! Its a wild animal!"

"And you're a ghoul! What are you scared?" Dew teased, holding the fuzzy animal out towards aether like it was a sword.

"What?! No dont be ridiculous, its just a baby, it cant do anything... right?" Aether said, slowly backing away.

"Oooooh the big man is scared of a possum oooo~" dew mocked him, stepping closer.

It really was just a baby, couldn't be more than two weeks old. It's eyes twinkled and it had just the slightest bit of fuzz.

"I- im not scared of some dumb animal!"

Aether tried to sound like he was being genuine, but it sounded like more of a squeal

"Then prove it big man, pet. the. possum." The baby squeeked and wriggled in dews hand.

"I dont have to prove anything to you!"

"You big baby" rain giggled, reaching out to scratch under the animals chin. "Look at how cute it is! Its nothing to be afraid of"

"Im not afraid! Im very tough."

Aether said, taking another step back so that he was pressed against the wall.

"Yeah, if tough is being terrified of this" dew laughed, stepping forward to emphasize his words.

Aether yelped, looking the possum dead in the eyes. "Fine! Ill touch it if you shut up"

"Do it do it do it!" rain chanted over dews shoulder. With one trembling hand aether reached out, gently placing his hand onto the creatures head.

"Oh" he said, softly rustling it's fur. The possum purred, nuzzling itself further into his hand. "I- i guess its kind of cute.." he said.

"See? Its ok big guy" rain cooed "do you want to hold it?"

"No. Petting it is enough thanks..." aether said, drawing his hand back.

"Wait, were you actually scared?" Rain asked. Aether nodded, looking down. He almost seemed... ashamed?

"Oh honey, im sorry..." rain said, stepping forward and grabbing his face. "I didnt.. we didnt realize that"

"Yeah, im really sorry aeth" dew mumbled.

"Hey can yall lovebirds leave please, this is my room ya'know." Mountian grumbled.

"Oh shit sorry mount, we'll go" rain said, gathering up the others and shooing them out the door.

Walking back to the common room, rain grabbed aether's hand, gently interlocking their fingers.

"Im really sorry sweetheart, i didnt know.." he whispered

"Its... its fine" aether mumbled

"No its not" dew said, rounding the corner into the common room "I think theres a box in here somewhere, we can put it in there for now."

Rain grabbed a cardboard box and some blankets, trying to make a comfortable nest for the baby "there we go, put him in here" he said, holding the box out to dew, who put down the possum, who nuzzled into the soft plush almost immediately.

"There we go, its gone now big guy." Rain purred, putting the box onto the coffee table.

"Thank you.." aether mumbled, still stating at the floor.

"Come on baby, do you want to cuddle?" Dew cooed, slouching down into the couch.

Aether nodded grabbing rains hand and pulling him down onto the couch.

"Can we still keep it? I promise we wont even make you look at it if you dont want to." Rain asked, settling down into aethers lap.

"I think that would be ok.." he mumbled, resting his head on dews chest.

"Alright baby boy, just let us know if we ever do anything that makes uncomfortable" dew purred, playing with aethers hair. Aether nodded, yawning into dews shirt.

Pyon pyon! Koi here. This is my first and ever Genshin post in Tumblr so I apologize if there are any mistakes. For my old readers, yes! I did changed my theme, it might take awhile for me to change the whole blog so please wait. I hope you all enjoy this post! love you all ♡

You eventually made it to Inazuma with Klee and Albedo. Back on board, Klee caused quite a few problems. Every time she saw a fish, she tried to fish blast, which made you fear that Klee might fell off the ship. As a result, you just held her in your arms till she dozed out or calmed down. You two used to go fishing blasting sometimes, but only to be seen by Jean or any of the knights of the favanious. Klee has taken a liking on you since she first met you.

You were invited in the Irodori festival because of your calligraphy skills, yes you live in Mondstandt but you still have the blood of liyueans since your father is from liyue while your mother is from Mondstandt.

You gently exit the ship and turn to gaze at Klee as you are still concerned that she might become overly excited at Inazuma. She smiles joyfully as you pick her up in your arms and says, "(Name) I'm so excited that I can't wait!" You laughed at her excitement and took a quick glance in Albedo's direction as he works on his paper. The moment Klee's voice reached Albedo, he flinched a little. "Oh, so you two already saw the surprise, no need to hide now, here take a look," he said, handing you the notebook as your cheeks turned red. "Brother Albedo! is that me and (Name) on your drawing?!"

He drew you cradling a sleeping Klee in your arms while looking up into the sky. Klee's eyes twinkle with amusement. She keeps looking at the drawing and saying, "This is so pretty brother Albedo!" You giggle a little and add, "Thank you Albedo, you certainly have a talent for drawing," to which he responds by grinning.

You picked up the maple leaf and smile at it as you take a look at the ground with your eyes sparkling, Klee on your left arm. Since this is your first visit to Inazuma, you are particularly unfamiliar with the surroundings. The maple leaf is carefully placed in a notepad that you usually carry whenever you leave.

"Albedo! Klee! (Name)!" you tilt your head behind only to see a yellow haired guy and pixie figure running towards you. "Aether! Paimon! Hey guys!" You happily waved at them, "Aether and Paimon, it's nice meeting you two again, after hearing out that Inazuma is preparing for the Irodori festival, I predicted that I might find you here" Albedo said in a calm manner as he waves at the two. "Paimon knew it! Albedo is the oke that will draw the 5 Kasen." Paimon crossed her arms and pouts.

"I'm only invited here because of my calligraphy talents; I was scheduled to be here tomorrow, but Klee demanded that I should be here early; in addition, I'm going to be Klee's babysitter for the remainder of the festival" You sighed after saying that. "That's though (Name), but I'm sure you're going to enjoy here while babysitting Klee" Paimon patted your head and you smiled at her comfort. "By the way, I'll be using my own pen name, Calx from now on. Oh and do you know where is the International Trade Association is?" Albedo asked and Paimon nods happily. "Great, let's get going then".

You finally reached your destination after a short walk. You glanced up and notice a huge tree in the middle. "Woah..it looks so different and beautiful in here.." Klee jumps joyfully around the tree, making Albedo a little concerned, "Klee slow down, you might bump into others" Albedo said to Klee with a sigh afterwards. You giggle at the small girl who keeps running around, curiously looking at anything that gets her interest. " I'll look out for her, don't worry" you gave Albedo a comforting smile before you try to catch up with Klee.

Fortunately, Klee is a respectful, though somewhat chaotic child who nonetheless complies with your instructions. "Klee! Please don't go somewhere far from here you'll get lost," you warned. The words "I'm sorry" are written all over Klee's face as she runs toward you with a slight frown on her face. "Ah sorry (Name) I was too busy being looking everywhere because I'm so thrilled.." Klee looks down at the ground. When you smile at her and bend to properly speak with her, she unexpectedly gives you a hug.

"I accept your apology," you told her. "It's great to be excited but not too excited since it will lead you to many issues." You laughed at her and pat her head, "This is why I adore you (Name)!". "Come let's go explore this place more" you lend out your hand to her and she happily accepts it. You two were having a good time here in Ritou but a familiar and loud voice was heard from you, while you and Klee are peacefully walking.

You looked at your right and your eyes widen, it was your lover Venti who's talking with a few people, you didn't expect him to be invited too. "VENTI?!" you covered your mouth. "Oh you sly bard, you're in big trouble now!" Venti's eyes widen as he turned around to see you in a bad mood. "Hey (Name)!.. uh guess you're here too for the festival..right?" "Stop with innocence Venti! you still haven't paid your tab and you haven't paid for that wine you stole in my house!" "Oh shit, I forgot about that..then catch me if you can (Name)!" he gave you a mischievous wink before he leaves making your blood boil more.

"That sly bard.. Aether! can you please take care of Klee while i take care of that bard" You gave him a small smile before running off. After searching Ritou for Venti for approximately 30 minutes and asking people there, you groan in defeat when you asked the last person. "Oh Venti, I hate you so much..."

"I hate you too, (Name)~" you heard someone say. Your eyes widen in astonishment, and you swiftly turn to see where that person is. Up here (Name)" you look above you to see Venti sitting in a branch of a tree with an apple in hand, "WHAT THE FUCK--YOU HAVE BEEN THERE THE WHOLE TIME?!" he nods and he continues to munch on his apple.

You carefully climbed the tree trying not to fall like the last time you and Venti did a climbing race at Windrise. You carefully sat beside him trying to keep your balance. "Where's the money" you looked at him directly in the eyes. "But (Name)-" "I know, but you need to pay for that since it's a limited edition.." You glare at him.

"How about I treat you to a date?" Venti gently holds one of your hands, giving it a soft kiss. You blushed at his gesture but you crossed your arms and look at the other side. "As if you have money" you muttered as you roll your eyes. "W-wait! I do have! but it's not enough so please..dear? you know that a date is much more enjoyable than giving you the money~" He whined as he clinged on your arm. You turn around to see a Venti with pleading eyes, you sighed in defeat. You replied with a single "Fine" and Venti's eyes immediately lit up with relief.

The sounds of children playing and the bustling ambiance of Inazuma remind you of your former life in Liyue as you two stroll across the city together. While walking alongside Venti, you spotted a stand that caught your attention. With a curious expression, you rushed towards the stand. "Hello, my name is Tomoki. Would you like to sample a Dango Milk?" You examined the bottle with interest. You question Tomoki, whose face turns pale, "How will I know that this milk is poisonous?"

"No no no, you're wrong. The almighty Raiden Shogun love's this drink!" He defended, waving his arms. "Wait you mean the Electro Archon Ei that Venti told-" Venti presses a finger to your lip and shushes you. "We would like two of that please." Tomoki nods and starts working with the Dango Milk. After a few minutes the Dango Milks are finally finished.

You and Venti picked them up carefully, you took a quick sip and your eyes widen. "T-this is delicious. No wonder the Almighty Raiden Shogun loves this.." Venti tooks a sip too with his Dango Milk and he completely agrees. You thanked Tomoki and take your leave.

The entire evening is spent shopping with Venti for whatever food takes your fancy. Finally worn out and broke, you and Venti decide to take a seat beneath a maple tree.

You yawned when you sat under the maple tree. There was only a few people and the place is going quieter by every second. You turned your attention to the maple leaves who are dancing with the wind. Out of nowhere, Venti suddenly lay his head on your lap causing you to look at him.

"Hmph, affection will get you out of nowhere, Venti" you rolled your eyes and let out a mocking giggle. Venti crossed his arms poutily but paused when a thought occurred to him, he gently stopped laying his head on your lap and stretched. With a silly poke to your nose and a smirk forming on his lips, he asked, "Will a kiss make you happy?" His question caught you off guard leaving you a blushing mess. "T-that was unexpected! w-why would you ask such a thing like tha-" He cuts you off by pinning you on the maple tree.

Venti then leaned in and kissed you without giving it another thought. He cupped your cheek with his left hand and tilted his head to make the kiss more intimate. He gently rubbed his tongue along the inside of your lower lip while your lips continued to move in sync. He giggled between the kiss and let out a happy sigh after that. He stopped pinning you on the maple tree and winked at you.

"Haha! I'll be on your mind for days, darling. Good luck with that!" The young bard blew you a kiss before running away in a goofy manner. You shook your head. He just left you like that?? you let out a sigh, your cheeks still bright red from the kiss. You'll get your revenge tomorrow, you swore.

Isakied reader but of course it’s weird.

My friend was doodling on his notebook in class and he tapped my shoulder to show his doodle. It was Keaya without hair. He didn’t know what his hair looked like and he couldn’t just search it up in the middle of class. I, being the friend I am, began to draw a random hairstyle. You know what he said?

“That looks like Keaya, Rosaria and Venti combined..”

With that I got an idea! My ideas are dangerous but people like it so I am here feed the children. I have done my work.

You got isakied after eating an apple, it wasn’t your fault that the apple looked so delicious! But you ate the apple and passed out only to wake up by the sobs of a girl. You opened your eyes to find out who’s crying only to see Barbara and Bennett hugging each other while ugly crying. After a second or two of realizing you’re in genshin you finally announced your existence.

“Um, are you guys ok?” The two blonde hairs snapped their heads towards you before running up to you. Both were on their knees as is praying for your existence. As they where doing that they began saying sorry over and over again.

“I’m sorry to ask but what happened?” As soon as you said that Bennett started to tell you what happened. Apparently Barbara was helping Bennett with something and didn’t see you causing both of them to bump into you and you fell down the many many stairs……how in the fuck are you not dead?

“I’m so so so sorry! It’s my bad luck and and I’m sorry!!!” The ash blonde male said again causing you to say it’s ok. After that you decided to walk around the city of freedom only to see a child that was flying.

Paimon….the type of child that you love and wanna adopt but also want to set on fire at the same time. That must mean the traveler is here! Walking up to Paimon before asking her a question.

“Hey, where are your parents? Are they somewhere around here?” Paimon turned around to see you in all of your glory. At first she was angry at you for think she was alone then she realized that Aether was helping Keaya. Then she thought how nice you are for asking that while other people were looking at her like a monster.

“Paimon doesn’t have parents…..but Paimon does have a good friend named Aether! Paimon always hangs out with him!” She said as she flew toward you she seemed really happy to talk with you. You lead her to sit down by a nearby table. You asked her where Aether was to which she said he’s helping Keaya and Diluc.

“How bout we go find both of them?” She nodded to your question as she flew towards the Tavern. Opening the door was Aether passed out on the floor, Keaya sleeping or passed out to on a table, Venti hiding in the corner of the room with a chair for defense and lastly a angry bird, I- mean a angry Diluc.

“What happened here?” Paimon ask but soon hid behind you after seeing Dilucs glare. Reading the room either Keaya did something or venti did something. You vote both plus a bit of Aethers fault.

“These three walked into my tavern and began to talk about combining people….AND THEY WON’T TELL ME WHAT THEY MEAN!” He shouted while grabbing a spray bottle and spraying it at Venti who hissed in response. Nodding your head at what’s going on, you walked up to Diluc and told him to go take a break and you will handle them.

“MY SAVIOR!!!” Venti threw the chair to the side before running at you full speed to hug you. The force made you fall over but when you tried to stand back up venti held you down. He seemed to be cuddling you…..yeah that’s not gonna pass. Pushing him off very gently and patted his head.

“Paimon when did you get here?” Aether asked rubbing his head. Paimon only huffed in response and turned around so her back faced him. She’s angry at him that he passed out and didn’t tell her!

“May I ask what made Diluc scream his head off?” You shouldn’t have asked that question because now you were told how Venti wanted to see if combining people into one person was possible. As they were talking about how different people would looked mashed together they remembered Albedo was a thing. But they were at the Tavern already and Alfredo was in his cold bowl of noodles, being an introvert to the fullest. So they were talking more about it till Diluc threw a chair at Aether and a wine bottle at Keaya.

When Swiss had gone to mountain asking them to give him a massage, mountain was a little confused at first, asking ‘why don’t you go to aether? He seems more clued in with pain relief.’ 

To which Swiss had relied ‘I’ve heard good things about you. Can you please help me?’ Swiss had heard from others that mountain had ‘magical hands’ and he knew that very well, but he was unaware that the magic extended past the more sexual scenarios that the ghoul found themselves in. 

And mountain knows that he can never say no to anyone so they obliged, setting down his book and quietly ushering Swiss to his room. 

Which leads them back to now, mountain sitting on the multi ghoul’s legs, his large, callused hands slowly massaging the expanse of Swiss’ back, rubbing some sort of herbal smelling oil into the built up knots. And Swiss now truly understood what all those people meant, he was truly blissed out. 

All until a certain point in his lower spine, where the bulk of that pain had reared its head. Mountain slid their hands down the length of his spine, pressing his thumbs into that specific area, drawing a groan from the ghoul below them. 

‘This was where that pain was right?’ Deep voice speaking for the first time since their interaction in the common room. 

‘Yeah, it was. Just take it easy there bud, ok?’ Swiss replied with a groan. 

‘Think I know the issue. I need you to take a large breath in for me.’ They said, shifting further down his legs to get a better position. And Swiss simply obliged, no questions asked. He trusted mountain and was too relaxed to argue. 

‘Got that breath? Now release it in one, two,’ they brace both their hands on Swiss’ lower back and, ‘Three!’ 

There was a resounding crack that was coupled with a shout from the ghoul below him. ‘And THATS what the pain was!’ Mountain yelled, raising his toned arms up in victory, very pleased with his work.

...you have opened my eyes to a vast universe of VintageBeef lore that I was unaware of. I knew about the New Hermit Order, of course, and the UHC invention, and I've watched a few of his CTM things but -- I will take all the info and lore you feel like giving out because Beef is amazing and my knowledge is so small.

So the thing is, right, until about 2016 I only watched two (2) youtubers- Vintagebeef for Minecraft and aDrive for Pokemon (and funnily enough both of them are named Dan irl). So I've watched most of Beef's videos over the years and have a general knowledge of most of his stuff, except because it's been like a decade I don't remember where most of the lore comes from XD

The thing with him is that he doesn't do Lore tm the way other mcyters often do lore- he doesn't have an extensive RP series to draw from like Grian, doesn't have a solo world with steadily increasing amounts of lore like Etho or Zisteau, and while he's played on SMPs and been involved in storylines before it's not really the focus of his episodes unlike with Evo or Legacy or Empires

So where does that leave us?

IRL, Beef always has multiple series running at the same time. Often he's playing on an smp while doing a singleplayer, often modded, series as well as a CTM or modpack with a group of friends. For example, right now he's playing on Hermitcraft, doing weekly Pixelmon and Building a Zoo episodes, and a CTM map with Slip. And to me, this translates to one thing: Beef is an adventurer. He travels frequently- he explores a world and when he decides he's done, he leaves for the next one. That's the basis of my personal interpretation of his series and his character for my writing.

Ok so reading this back, this got extremely long and didn't explain much in the way of lore, somehow? If anyone has any additions to add please do so, I am very definitely leaving out a lot and would love to see what other lore people remember and are using for Beef! I didn’t include the Hermitcraft stuff since my memory of season 4 is blurry (his base was themed after the Martian, that much I know, and he and Iskall were buddies :D) and most of the s5 NHO lore is best watched from Bdub’s perspective from what I remember, and the only s6 stuff is a single line in Hermitgang and then the Area 77 arc with its possibility of an NHO reunion which we did not get rip. And s7 of course had the cloning machine and also the Podzol Party as the main lore. So all the original rambling is still below the cut though it is very long, and I'm gonna bullet point the main stuff here instead:

Actual canonical things:

Invented UHC and was the only survivor of the first ever uhc (Mindcrack UHC s1)

Married to an ender dragon (one of the UHCs I think), later father to a different dragon (Mindcrack season 3? I think?)

Was the creator/owner of Sourceblock SMP (featuring some familiar faces if you know Legacy, Empires, or MCC) and there is literal magic from a mysterious sourceblock of water that teleports people and summons mobs and probably more stuff that I haven't seen yet since I'm still watching it myself

Things you can infer:

Good with animals (Life in the Woods, Pixelmon, Ark)

Is a car nerd (irl and all of the car games he's played)

Is a highly experienced adventurer who has traveled through dozens of worlds both vanilla and modded, across multiple dimensions (Twilight Forest, the Aether, the Betweenlands, Limbo), completed dozens of monuments, fought in blood sports, survived apocalypse after apocalypse, tamed dinosaurs, and played a lot of prop hunt and golf with your friends

If you're looking for what to watch for lore purposes, I'd say the Mindcrack UHCs and Team Canada's RAD series are pretty good, definitely Sourceblock and HC s5, plus the Diversity CTM maps and Ruins of the Mindcrackers maybe? And Mindcrack Prank Wars for the chaos and the origin of Team Canada. And if you can handle horror than the Forest is fun and if you don't do horror you can watch the Pojkband play golf or prop hunt they're hilarious I love them sm I want a Pojkband reunion So Bad 

Beef's first series was a singleplayer series in beta 1.4_01 though he had played the game extensively before that, and was a big fan of Guude, having watched his own Minecraft videos. The series was functionally a hardcore one where if he died Beef would delete the world and start again! I haven't actually Watched this series so idk if he died or how often lmao. When Guude made Mindcrack, which was btw one of the very first Minecraft SMPs, he also hosted a competition for people to join, and Beef submitted a video (which is still viewable on his channel I believe!) and won, and was added to Mindcrack in season 2 :D (fun fact, Guude said that even if Beef hadn’t won he would have added him anyway) 

Two running jokes emerged from Mindcrack- pulling a Vintagebeef and Beef doesn't have legs. The first is a reference to Beef dying of fall damage (I believe the exact instance was him trying to jump into his swimming pool and failing spectacularly) and after the incident, every time someone died of fall damage they were pulling a Vintagebeef. The second joke comes from Guude, who joked that the reason Beef wasn't going to a convention was because he didn't have legs, and then he pranked Beef's base by building a giant pair of legs at the entrance to his castle so you had to walk between them to get into the base. This joke has long since died and both Beef and Guude feel pretty bad about it iirc because there were people who genuinely thought Beef was disabled and were emailing him supportive messages and stuff oops. So if you go looking on the Salad or find old Mindcrack fics, you might see references to Beef having prosthetic legs!

Mindcrack also brought about the creation of several Player groups- Team Nancy Drew, Team Canada, and GOB to name a few relevant to Beef. Team Nancy Drew consists of Beef, Pauseunpause, Guude, and Baj, who formed to investigate a prank on one of the members but I forget who. They're named Nancy Drew after the detective! Team Canada also formed in retaliation to pranks, with it consisting of Beef, Etho, and Pause, the three Canadian members on the server (not including Adlington who moved to Canada but never joined the group). There was also a Team America who pranked them with American flags everywhere. GOB is Guude, OMGChad, and Beef, who played stuff like the Ragecraft, Pantheon, and Monstrosity ctms together but that's way down the line lol

Team Nancy Drew is also notable for inventing UHC. It was Beef's brainchild but it was the four of them who first played it! The first UHC had the four of them working to kill the dragon with no natural regen, with everyone dying but Beef, who "won" the UHC. The second uhc was still dragon focused and iirc is where Beef married the dragon? Memories are hazy but they do kill the dragon in this one I think. UHC was then revamped as a pvp event and became a regular Mindcrack game every few months, featuring most of the Mindcrackers and several special guests, including Dinnerbone, who as we know Thanos-snapped Doc's arm out of existence as a result of Doc killing him in one of them

In one of the seasons of Mindcrack, Beef invited swedish Mindcracker and good friend Anderzel to go caving with him and invented ABBA Rules caving, where the winner takes it all. ABBA Rules is a game where each ore (and also dungeon loot like nametags) is assigned a point value and the person with the most points at the end wins and gets to keep all the stuff collected from the game.

In Mindcrack season 3?, Beef punched the ender dragon in an... awkward area, so when the dragon died and left the egg behind, Guude said Beef was the father of the egg XD I don't remember if I watched s3 so I have no idea if anything Happened with this concept but *history of the world voice* you could make lore out of this!

So Team Canada has played a Lot of CTM maps (which fun fact were pretty much invented by another Mindcrack member, Vechs, with his Super Hostile series! Super Hostile has a bunch of things called "Zistonian", which are references to another Mindcrack member Zisteau, who has a very wild singleplayer series with even wilder lore but I digress). In Ruins of the Mindcrackers, they had a running joke that Beef was Etho and Pause's mom, which is a joke we can leave in the past actually /lh. They also played all the Diversity maps, Sky Factory, Terra Restore, Uncharted Territory uhhh and a couple more ctms and adventure maps! Each map kinda has its own story so in Diversity 3 for example they were trapped in a simulation? I think? Team Canada also recently played the Roguelike Adventures and Dungeons modpack, aka RAD, in which Beef was a wizard with a magic staff that could do anything from summon lightning to control hostile mobs.

Sourceblock SMP is a vanilla survival 1.14 series that ran for one season and the series starts with each of the Players being drawn to a strange sparkling water source that, once they touch it, brings them to the Sourceblock world. It also summons a giant zombie at one point. There's probably more lore for this series but like I said I haven't watched it all the way through yet 

He has a Patreon server called VintageCraft and has done a series or two on there as well, and played a few UHCs with them, so lore that how you will! 

Beef also played a few popular mods, notably Pixelmon, Life in the Woods, and Feed the Beast, with LitW being singleplayer and the other multiplayer. He's also recently played the Zoo and Wild Animals mod a lot. He did a short series with the Minecraft Comes Alive mod where he married one of the villagers and had two children, so that's canon now :D he’s played a Lot of Pixelmon starting when the mod first came out iirc (he chose Turtwig in his first series and built a Grass gym, then made a Normal gym in another series in uhh 2016) and he still plays to this day. Quite a few Hermits played on his Pixelmon servers with him, like Wels, Etho, Iskall, Stress, Slip, Zueljin, and also Guude and Phedran (a Mindcrack adjacent player and creator of the LitW modpack) and a few Mindcrackers on the older servers 

Mindcrack and friends played a lot of other games too- 7 Days to Die, Ark Survival Evolved, Unturned, to name a few, so you can pull a lot of lore out of these as well. Speaking of friends and non-Minecraft games, Beef teamed up with Pause, Keralis, and Slip (a former Hermit) to play the horror game the Forest, which saw them stuck on an island trying to survive against terrifying mutated human... things. They played it a few times as the game updated but as afaik it's the first time Beef played with Keralis and possibly Slip and since the game starts with the Player's airplane crashing, that could totally be how Beef first met them in-universe

its 1 am and im thinking about pokemon AUs

It’s late, I’m tired and english is not my first language so sorry in advance i guess. 

Ok so submas and PLA lore has been consuming my mind. I’ve been enjoying a lot of submas content, specially emmet is mad at god and wants revenge submas content. And I’m of course overthinking this a lot but i have such a cool scenario in my mind i want to share.

Okay so we know that Arceus had the power to change into all types and created the universe or whatever, but now it also has the power to send people through time and space with ominous holes in the sky. The fist time i saw this i thought of ultrawormholes, and the whole faller concept, even if the appearance of the portals is not exactly the same. This immediatelly makes me think of alola because obviously. 

In sun and moon we meet the Aether Foundation and the Lusamine family. It’s implied that Mohn, Lusamines husband and a researcher, fell through an ultrawormhole and lost his memories and that was really traumatic. That would be a catalyst to investigate the UBs and the portals in order to save her husband and that’s a reason why the AF does a lot of their experiments (appart from the whole Lusamine is crazy and loves beauty thing). One of these experiments that always seemed out of place for me even if i love them is the RKS project aka Type:Null and Sylvally. I think you know where this is going.

The foundation created 3 specimens of an artificial pokemon called Type:Full with the objective of it being a UB Killer. In the development they added the RKS System to replicate Arceus’ type changing abilities to make it powerful, BUT if we add a little bit of fanfic au magic it may also be so that they can open interdimensional portals like the original Arceus (it would help in the UB killer thing RIGHT? it makes sense RIGHT?). The experiments went badly and they were scrapped, called Type:Null and saved by Gladion and then apparently replicated in Sword and Shield.

Ok, so after setting this up my thesis is that we should give Emmet a Sylvally so that he could go fight pokegod with a man made replica of itself. 

I really have to think more about this, but it has so much potential. Emmet goes to Alola, maybe with Elesa in a new outfit, to learn about wormholes and Type:Null. You also have Colress and Grimsley already there so they could be helping or investigating together. Cynthia, aka a VOLO conection, is also there for Sinnoh lore and Looker, Annabel (another faller), the sun and moon cast, Red, Blue and Wally could also help in some way. I would also add some other characters i like for self indulgence (really want Thorton to interact with the submas). Everything is of course fanfiction and not an actual theory but i’m really excited about developing it more and maybe drawing things ehehehehe.

so let's say that you and your mom run a little daycare area in the city

where parents would drop off their little demons kids for the day and you two take care of them

and while you were playing with some of the kids a young man with long blonde hair and who looked to be around your age came in with his little sister (??) who came in behind him clutching on to his pants leg

your mom, being pretty good with kids, talked to the guests while you tried to listen in on their conversation

as you looked at the boy you two made eye contact and he shyly waved to you

since your hands were occupied with holding several stuffed animals and for some reason, a half-broken teapot you simply smiled and nodded your head at him

a few minutes later and you realize that he never really left the building and is not sitting on a small wooden chair playing with mega-blocks with his little sister

since you were bombarded with five-year-olds at the moment you decided to go over to him and say hi

(and maybe trying to hide from the kids)

you sat beside him on the other chair next to him and tried to strike up a conversation with the golden-haired boy

apparently after some conversation, you found out that he recently moved to the area and was just looking around the place with his little sibling, paimon.

the kids who you were playing with earlier ran up to you and aether and did the "AETHER AND [NAME] SITTING IN A TREE" bullshit

aether's face was bright red while you were suppressing the urge to chuck some businesswoman's kid across the room

even paimon started to chant along with the kids

gee wiz thanks paimon

your mom, hearing all the noise came over to where you two were and shushed them and gave them an activity to do

aether was still a bit flustered from the sudden attention but brushed it off and changed the subject

an hour or two after the event your mom decided that it would be fun to make the entire daycare make christmas cards for their loved ones

as you were giving out the white pieces of paper and numerous craft materials you jokingly give some to aether telling him to "make you something pretty"

poor boy got so red omg it's because ur so hot and cool and amazing and really really good looking and supe

anyways

an hour into the thing and you were being circled with kids loudly speaking at you for different reasons

one: you were sitting in a little girl's seat and she just desperately needed it back

two: a few kids were in line for you to draw random shapes and animals with glitter glue

three: they just wanted your attention

alas, another day of this hellhole of a job-

(come on man you had to be getting paid, it's my story i make the rules)

-has ended for the day and as you were cleaning up you felt a light tap on your shoulder

as you turned around your eyes locked with his honey golden eyes filled with bashfulness as he handed you the carefully folded piece of paper

looking over to paimon who was happily chatting away with the other kids you took the letter and started to open it

aether, stopping you by opening the letter by putting a hand on yours, put his finger to your mouth and said

"wait until you get home to open it. it'll make the surprise so much better"

you were, to say the least, very embarrassed as your eyes looked literally anywhere else than at him.

your mother, who probably didn't notice the situation you were in called you over since you were closing right now

all of a sudden you couldn't wait to get home

after completing the quest line and helping all the little aranara, they're all very appreciative to Aether and wanna make him happy too. the kids seem to have fun tickling each other, and laughter = happiness, right?

imagine Aether being asked by one of them to lay down on the grass, and he's confused but he does it bcz why not he's being doing lots of weird stuff for them already, and then just getting swarmed by adorable sweet little aranara tickling him, wanting to make him happy. and ofc poor Aether is absolutely losing his mind laughing, but still being careful not to move in a way that would knock any of them. and he more or less lets them continue bcz 1. he enjoys it and 2. he thinks it's super sweet of them.

(that is, ofc, unless one of the heavier aranara like you mentioned climbs on top of him and now he's stuck. celestia forbid they find one of those places that really gets to him and makes him squirm, but if that happens being stuck will help him continue to recieve their appreciation even if he can't really stay still.)

also Piemon would probably be a little brat and tell them which spots to go for on Aether lololol

but this is so cute ahhhh i can't stop thinking about the aranara just swarming him and nuzzling his tummy and the thought of aether rolling around and giggling in a field of flowers aksldjf pretty boy

also there a lot of aranara around sumeru and the sound of his laughter ends up drawing more to him

and paimon absolutely would! when there are too many around his tummy, she'll direct them to other spots like "his knees are free if anyone else wants a turn"

also imagine a group of treasure hoarders or mercenaries walking by and they just see aether clutching his stomach and laughing his head off, but they're too old to see aranaras now so they're just like "???? let's stay 10 ft back"
