This is my pride and joy.

This is a trilogy I've been working on for the past two years now. I am slowly but steadily making progress, and it is the longest I have been able to work on a sinle project. I am simply so happy with it and sometimes I even manage to draw the characters.

This is the first story I've written where I really feel connected to every single character, good or bad, no matter how big or insignificant of a role they have in the story. Everyone is worked out and polished to almost perfection.

Not to mention, I managed to shove almost all of my favourite tropes in there. This is a true passion project, one that I am intending on publishing once I've finally edited the whole thing. I feel like, even though it may feel a bit fanfic-like, it can absolutely stand its ground.

I have a lot of love for this story, and I absolutely love thinking about it because every single chapter and interaction is meaningful and adds something to the whole plot. It really just feels like all my other stories led up to this point, where I can finally shove all my knowledge into one place and eventually show it to the world.

Alright, I just had a few rough days, so whilst I'm contuining with writing for a request I can hopefully complete and post today, I though to myself to re-post my writing schedule so that new followers of my blog know a bit of when to expect my posts. My schedule goes as following: Headcanon (either requested or one I wanted to make) Potentially TWP Story, wether a continuation of something, a drabble, anything (either requested or one I wanted to make) Potentially TWP Headcanon (either requested or one I wanted to make) Potentially TWP Basic Instinct TWP -Rinse & Repeat 1st Note: When it comes to TWP, there are still certain parts I need to write about Book 1, and there's a huge editing process behind it due to Tumblr's word limit. In the document folder I write TWP in, even if I try to keep the Tumblr word limit in mind, there are the occasional instances where I do end up exceeding the word limit and then I have to start making clever editing choices. So that is why there's only one TWP update guaranteed after Basic Instinct, but if I feel like it I'll drop it in between my scheduled releases. 2nd Note: I will update this in the future. To my non-KNB followers, Basic Instinct is my most popular KNB fanfic. However, stories have obstacles and the ending generally always comes after the biggest obstacle id resolved. With Basic Instinct, I'm currently in the process of writing the biggest obstacle. Yes you heard it right, my precious Basic Instinct fans. The end is somewhat in sight, as after I wrapped the whole running away plot, I'll write the ending and a few epilogue chapters. If those get more then 5 likes each, I'll also release a bonus with fluffy snippets of Akashi and the reader throughout their relationships. But that will truly be the end. It won't change TWP's schedule, but when Basic Instinct is over I will dedicate that slot to a new series. I have a few potential ideas including one I already talked about before, and I will hold a poll to let you guys pick which one you want.

From my end because a skipped season 2, again, I have to say, I'm just having a bunch a words thrown out me and I ask again what is this "loom" bulls***. The original conflict, the moral question posed was is either having a single timeline that is peaceful but destroying all other timelines in the process, or freeing the multiverse to exist but by doing so opening up all timeline for potential war and other threats. I'm going to just keep calling it loom-bulls*** By introducing loom bulls*** it erases the original debate neither side is a matter of right or wrong anymore.

And if nothing else it means Loki has a very clear established want that the narrative then fulfills

It‘s the little things …

Here's a question, so what if Loki kills Sylvie. If he does what then stops him or anyone else from just deposing HWR latter in a way that doesn't cause loom bulls***? Why is it only in that moment is the option kill HWR or have the same status quo?

Killing Sylvie, killing HWR that‘s just bells and whistles that‘s just smoke and mirrors

The choice is between

prune all other timelines (status quo)

or

let the multiverse happen (chaos)

And there is the loom bulshit again

even if you don‘t kill HWR, and simply stop pruning diverging timelines. The simple action of the multiverse EXISTING let‘s the loom overload and erase the whole multiverse and the TVA

So with the loom the only option is the sacred timeline

Without the loom the only option is no timelines at all only the TVA and maybe the void at the end of time and of course HWR‘s castle

Again, this is not a matter of morals or right or wrong, this is a story forcing only two options neither are good, and Sylvie is an element forcing it to be a choice between two bad option that result in mass death either way.

It doesn't surprise me that the writers would spin Loki being motivated by love and friendship as something selfish. I understand that there's a difference between doing something because it is the right thing to do and doing something just to appease a singular person but that's not as simple as being selfish. And it of course all that does is reinforces my view on the ending that Loki hasn't grown at all. He that same lost son hanging by thread begging to be loved. He's just martyrs himself instead of sacrificing other, which is not a healthy growth.

okay actually season two really mistreats Sylvie and her decision to kill HWR in a way that really irks me. the only reason Sylvie was "wrong" to kill HWR was because it opened up the possibility of a multiversal war, but nothing is done to change that so season two ends in exactly the same place season one did. season two throws in the loom just to distract you from the fact that Loki does nothing to fix that original problem. by taking his throne at the end of time, Loki is allowing the multiverse to exist and allowing each timeline to create its own Kang and allowing this multiversal war to happen exactly the same way that Sylvie did in season one, but because he "fixed the loom problem" that didn't even exist in season one, it's painted as a noble sacrifice where he singlehandedly saves all of creation. in reality, all he's doing is saying that Sylvie was right to free the multiverse and he would give his life to ensure that nobody can walk back that decision.

tl;dr the moral of Loki season two is actually that Sylvie was right to kill HWR 🙏

Oh, you just threw a bunch a words at me at once and I have no idea. What is this loom bullsh***? Where did that come from? The first season and the surrounding films about the multiverse were about how the universe crossing over and the potential problems that could cause by that. Why are universe just falling apart on their own now?

The problem that I saw with Sylvie killing HWR was the fact she didn't care about the consequence and actively if it created more problems and people got hurt. It sounds like the exact thing happen in season 2, killing HWR created more problems. Now the things Loki seemed to be worried about, something worse taking kang place, wasn't exactly the resulting problem. Loki didn't want HWR to keep ruling, he wanted to stop and think about some other kind of solution. Sylvie just killed one person and then f**ed off and that didn't solve the problem at all.

Killing one guy didn't solve fascism, people still tried to carry on the mission until others step in and stop them. Sylvie is proven short sighted and wrong in thinking killing HWR was the solution.

Sure, maybe the idea of freeing the multiverse is better than having time fascists destroy all but one version time is correct. But that rewriting what was going on in the season one finale. Sylvie was not arguing any kind of morals or philosophy, she wanted revenge.

The entire series is a tangled inconsistent mess of mismatched ideas. Saying Sylvie was right is rewriting why she did what she did. It's ignoring that what she did didn't solve the problem. It's ignoring that Loki just want to stop and think and there was never real ticking clock preventing them from thinking it through the first time.

hello! i just wanted to say something about the choice frequency and my take on it quickly. i think that in comparison to some other IFs, your story has less choices BUT i think it works very well for the story you are telling and i have never felt too confined or unhappy when it came to making choices or just reading the text between choices. the way you write makes it feel like theres still a lot of player control even if theres only two or three options.

ofc its your choice wether or not to add in more choices but i think your story is fantastic as is! <3

I admit that the choice and narrative balance is a real point of anxiety for me. I'm relieved that the story works for you as it is, and I'm flattered that you're getting a lot of this from the writing style.

I do want to give you folks flexibility and agency in the story. TBH there is a huge range of pathways through, but most of those pathways pivot on a single choice, meaning that you'll make a decision in chapter 1 and won't see the huge ways that affects the story until at least the next chapter if not several chapters later. That's part of why I'm trying to hold back on the adjustments until more of the story is available to read.

The second choice you make in the game will affect the plot right through to the very end in fundamental ways. It will affect everything.

Would you consider having Jin King joining the Cooper gang a bitter choice than Panda King? since a lot of fans in the fandom disliking the storyline because of how little appearance Jing King has. Not that i agree, the Panda King is great! (and i find sly fans can be overly critical of games that don't even try to give good moral lessons-- hello you're playing as a band of thieves, one of your missions is literally called wolf massacre)

i don't think it would've worked either, but i still disagree with your points :V

panda king's presence in sly 3 is VERY important for the plot: it shows sly's attempt to walk foreward and not rely completely on his past (one of the main themes of the game, lol), brings back traumatic past experiences (again, a main theme), puts a LOT of tension between sly and bentley (something touched upon with the really annoying love "triangle" and the actually well written issues brought up by M), and in all of that gives so much more personality to a complex character such as panda king. leaving him behind and giving us his daughter instead wouldn't hit as hard.

jin king is, at the end of the day, the "thing to steal" of the episode. yes, thing. the gang wants to free her, we're shown that panda king loves his daughter a lot, and we're given a literal mysoginistic cock as a villain to drill in the idea that women aren't objects, and yet that's... what she ends up being? Even if the game give us good female characters w Penelope and Carmelita, we're still left with her not really... choosing? To do anything? at the end of the day we save her and then Panda King tells her to stay behind, and we're even presented to him threatening every single person who tries to flirt with her for haha funny memes xd instead of letting us know that she doesn't want to get married, or maybe she wants to find her own way. i'm not saying it's enough to make me dislike Panda King, or the game in general, or even just that episode --- but it's still a little. meh.

also idk how to tell you that while the gang is obviously corrupt abd fucked up and a bunch of bastards through the series, they very often are presented as the undoubtly good guys. again, even if the result isn't the best, they really drill in the idea that Jin King is her own person here literally one of the few times I can say they're undoubtly in the wrong is exactly during the Holland episode (where "wolf massacre" takes place) where they cheat their way to the Black Baron, and even then we're told that everyone in the competition cheats and the baron has no problems killing people; they might act selfishly, sometimes, but wether by accident or on purpose they do what's right.

the Sly series often talks about sexism (for better or worse, lol), environmentalism and classism, actively criticizing those who hurt people "weaker" than them and destroy nature for profit. Sly himself comments that his work and Carmelita's aren't that different more than once, and specifically says that the only thing dividing them is that she must stay there and wait for orders while he does whatever he wants

Plot: part 3 to the over series, Deacy goes to visit the Reader and they have a heart to heart, and a long awaited phone call finally happens.

Note: sorry it took so long to update but the holidays had me crazy. But everything is better now. This one is a little bit shorter but next chapter is going to be emotional, just a heads up!

John Deacon was a man who always, or at least half the time, had a plan. And his plan this time led him to standing outside Y/N's door, a bouquet of her favorite flowers in hand and a box of her favorite pastries in the other.

He was smart enough to know that none of these things would get her to automatically forgive him, but he sure hoped they would work as a peace offering.

It had been a few weeks since everything had happened. The boys had decided to give her some space to gather herself, only finding out things about her through Mary, who was the only person Y/N still accepted to see.

He took a deep sigh, composing himself before ringing the doorbell, only having to wait a couple of minutes before the door was opened, revealing a worse for wear Y/N.

John remembered how Freddie had described her the last time he had seen her, but nothing could prepare John for this. He was sure she was skinnier, her face looked hollow, her eyes empty. It was a sad sight. A sad sight that made evident the hurt she had been feeling.

"John?" She exclaimed in surprise, "What....what are you doing here?"

John gave her a soft smile, "Hi Y/N....I was hoping we could talk."

Y/N didn't reply, only nodded her head and moved aside to let him in. John hadn't been to her flat in so long, but it was as tidy and shiny as it had been last, a stark contrast to how Y/N looked.

She led him to the kitchen and gestured for him to sit down at the small table. He gladly complied, sitting down patiently while she went to prepare tea and set the flowers in a vase with water.

"It's good to see you. Been wondering how you were for the past few weeks."

Y/N gave him a small smile, "I'm sure you know how I've been. I'm pretty confident Mary's been giving you lot updates on me, just like she has been giving me updates of you."

"You ask about us?"

"Not really, but she still tells me," she replied, "but can you blame me for not wanting to hear about you."

He shook his head, "Not really. We all messed up on that one."

She hummed in agreement, "Some more than others."

"Some more than others..."

She had come to the table now, two cups of chamomile tea in hand, and the pastries he had brought now sat on a platter."

"I'm thankful you boys have given me space....it's really allowed me to think, to go over everything," she started, "I sort of understand why you didn't tell me now, wouldn't of have helped really, and although it's something that should have been told, I understand maybe telling it through the phone might have not been the greatest idea, and well you didn't see me before everything went down, so there really hadn't been time."

John took everything in, "So, does this mean you're not mad at us anymore?"

"Don't get me wrong Deacy, I'm still mad at you three, well not mad but dissapointed. You could have done something about it, yet you didn't. You could have stopped him. I understand Roger is old enough to make his own choices, but it would have been nice to know you attempted to do something about it."

"That's understandable. Roger is an adult, but he sometimes does need a voice of reason. But you must know we truly are sorry, we never meant to hurt you."

"I know Deacy, Mary's told me how sorry you three are. I forgive you, I do, but you must understand I won't trust you the same way I used to...at least not right now."

"I completely understand Y/N, truly."

"Thank you Deacy."

They sat in comfortable silence after that, for a while at least, sipping at their now cooled tea and taking small bites from their chosen pastries.

It was John who broke the silence. "Has he been to see you?"

She shook her head, "No...he called and called for the first week, but I would never answer, couldn't find it in myself to do so. My neighbor told me he came around twice, but both times I wasn't home. He went to look for me at work, but the security man wouldn't let him pass unless he had an appointment. Thank god we're on vacation, don't know how I would react if he went to search for me at school."

John had forgotten she was still in school. He had forgotten the complete fact that she was younger than Roger. She was only 23 while he was 25.

"He's not doing good. Gets worse everyday. Can't even play the drums right anymore. He's more like a robot when we're in the studio. Freddie's about had it."

Y/N sighed. "I don't know what you want me to do Deacy."

"You don't have to do anything. We've already told him he should talk to you, apologize and explain why he did it," he paused, "it's the first time he's ever done it, you know. I'm not trying to excuse his behavior or anything, but I thought you should know. He truly loves you and yes he screwed it up, but it was never his intention to hurt you. That's the last thing he would want."

Y/N only nodded.

"I know you don't want to see him, but I think you should. I feel it would be good for you both. He could finally tell you all he's been feeling and you could finally find out the whole story."

"I don't think I'm ready for it though."

"I know you're not, and I'm not telling you to do it right this second, but the longer you drag it out, the worse it will get. That's only going to bring more harm to you both. No argument was ever solved by silence."

She could only stare at Deacy, frown evident on her face, her gaze almost stone cold, "I always hated the fact that you could so easily convince me of something, wether it be for good or for bad." She whispered, "And I also hate that you're right about this."

Deacy laughed, "Well, I couldn't live with my self knowing how much pain you were going through."

"What would I do without you John Deacon..."

"Don't think about that right now, don't want you getting more upset with the mere thought of how terrible and miserable you're life would be without me."

Roger's home phone would always ring, wether it be Freddie to tell him some ridiculously thing, as was typical Freddie fashion, or be it either Brian or John to make sure he hadn't killed himself yet, or his sometimes over caring mum who checked in on him, amongst other callers, Roger's line was always busy.

But he didn't expect her voice to come through when he picked it up that afternoon. It had been so long since he heard it, and he never thought the word 'hey' could have such an effect on himself like it did in that moment.

"Hey" he heard her say softly.

Roger was stunned for a moment, "Y/N?"

"Hi Roger."

He took a moment to compose himself before replying, "Uh...hey..hi..how are you?"

He heard her take a deep breath through the phone, "I've been better. You?"

"I've seen better days as well, but all's good Love." He hadn't meant to say it, but it just slipped out, like it tended to happen when they had conversation's. "To what do I owe the call?"

"I think you know why I'm calling Rog," she sighed, "It's been weeks, I think it's time we talk."

"Yeah...I think it's time we talked as well," he replied, "Do you want to come over for tea, and to of course, talk things over."

She took a minute to respond, "I don't think it's a good idea I go to you're place.."

He felt silly for even proposing the idea, remembering it was there where she had caught him in the act.

"Well what about that café you loved so much, that one in the alleyway close to the college."

"As much as I love that small place I don't think the conversation we need to have is set for a public place," she reasoned, "look, why don't you come over and we ca chat here. Away from prying eyes and ears and in the comfort of a place we both know well."

"Sounds good to me lov-" he cut himself off, reminding himself it was probably not appropriate to call her that right then, "what time should I go over?"

"You can come over right now if you're free."

"Right then, I'll see you in a few minutes."

"See you soon Roger."
