(Kinda old) Doodles of my DW actor AU, Curtainfall!

I'm hoping everybody is recognizable, though tbh its definitely a lot harder without seeing my toon designs. Still, try to guess who's who!

Alright, from left to right, we have Gianna/Gigi, Vivian Verona/Vee, Maya/Yatta, Peter Salazar/Sprout, Polly-Ann "Bo" Wan/Poppy (note that when I drew her she was white but I later made her chinese-american), Ashton Newbright/Astro and Baxter/Boxten. (They're all supposed to have last names buuuuut I haven't finished naming them lol.)

Soooooo since this is literally the first time i post abt this AU so i should probably explain what its about. Will I do that? NAH, I'll just give some basic concept stuff and then not explain the actual plot at all. So yeah. /lh

Y'know how actor AUs are usually slice-of-life with no odd ongoings and often are less angsty?

This is not that kind of actor AU.

So in curtainfall, instead of being real, the toons are played by human actors. These characters are distinct people from the toons and are similar to them in some ways and different in others. And uhhhhh stuff happens its crazy guys but I'm not telling now guys. But this is them while the show is still running. Enjoy the no context actors! /lh

I still haven’t been able to get the PT designs out of my head lol. These are the two series I’m probably the most autistic about so I hope you’re prepared because I’m probably not

In particular I’ve been thinking about how, at least in the order you’ve presented the characters, most of the most obvious antagonists have extremely striking parallels to who they’d be replacing (Morgan’s relationship to Maya is similar to Madarame’s to Yusuke, whatever org hired the Phantom would probably be the exact same type of threat as Medjed, Kristoph and Kamoshida have the same flavour of punchability, etc).

Anyway ever since I noticed this I need to know if that was a consideration when figuring out who’s who

(Also Franzy being Sae is such a wholesome thought to me considering she so vehemently insists she’s Edgeworth’s older sister)

It was absolutely a thought! Not every character has a replacement, because the whole idea of this AU is "Persona 5 Royal happens to Ace Attorney" so Igor and Caroline & Justine stay the same, but as for the rest (and keep in mind this is more about story role/arcana than which character they're most similar to)

Morgan Fey = Madarame (yeah you got it right lol, her Shadow is the high priestess of her Palace, which is a shrine complex)

Shelly de Killer = Kaneshiro (constantly taunting Edgeworth by avoiding arrest, his Shadow is a vampire and his Palace is a spooky castle)

As I said, Athena = Futaba (her Shadow is a priestess/oracle at an ancient Greek temple)

Excelsius Winner = Mr Okumura (his story is about him pulling strings to get out of prison, his Shadow is a biker gang leader and his Palace is a motorbike race track that's treated like a gladiatorial arena)

As I said, Franziska = Sae (again you got it right! her Shadow is a Lady of the Manor, the manor being her Palace)

The phantom = Shido (since he's the origin of the Dark Age of the Law, and his Shadow is the commander of a fortress palace... an AIR fortress that's a giant blimp)

Eighth Palace is the same as P5R

As I said, Kristoph = Maruki (he doesn't really have a Shadow, but his Palace is the courthouse blown up to massive size, and I imagine its architecture taking inspiration from the designs of Étienne-Louis Boullée)

The Greek lettering on Athena's says "GYAXA"

It's also worth mentioning that I imagine for the final Palace/true ending, the player character role switches from Phoenix to Apollo, because in the original game Joker's with Akechi and Sumi and since that'd be Nahyuta and Klavier here, it makes more sense for it to be Apollo since he's the one with actual relationships with them.

also Sebastian is NB in this AU and changed their name to Sebastian when they came out and Capcom can pry this name out of my cold dead hands

aku pernah dan masih sempat terlintas dalam benak bahwa aku menikah di usia 33 itu karena aku ya ga secantik orang-orang lain.

pun saat dilangkahi adik menikah di usianya 24/25 membuat sugesti itu semakin kuat.

bertahun-tahun dalam keterpurukan hingga insomnia parah dan maju mundur jauh dari Allah meski ikut organisasi keislaman berakhir dikeluarkan. luka ini terus ada dan kini terusik karena orang tua murid ada yang nanya "apakah aku neneknya ?" apa aku terlihat begitu tua untuk anakku yang usianya 5 tahun Sampai di kira neneknya. "oh pasti nikahnya udah ber umur mungkin y?". masih di jawab santai sih tapi pulangnya langsung mental breakdown. wkwkwk

aku tahu keterpurukanku beberapa tahun itu membuat wajah ku menua dengan cepat. sedih membuat otot otot wajah mengerut.

saat itu aku bertanya pada Tuhan ... "tuh kan Tuhan coba kalo nikah nya cepet terus lebih cepet punya anak juga ga akan da dikira setua itu."

dan yang ngomong banyak , aku aja yang ya ngeuh karena org yg bilang selalu pas ketemu aku ga bermake up. ya meski make up Juga kadang Bikin keliatan tua aku mah.

belum lagi pas di ruqyah sebelum nikah di bilang setan kecemasan dan kesedihan merenggut usia ku sebenarnya.

minim pujian dari suami pun membuat ku kadang bertanya kenapa sih dia nikahin aku? apalagi makin tambah usia pernikahan makin keliatan sifat asli ku. alhamdulillah suami masih sabar.

“Maya” significa ilusão. Em sânscrito (माया), é o nome dado àquilo que parece real, mas é apenas aparência — um véu entre o que é e o que se deseja. Mas, para ela, nunca foi engano: era caminho. Um nome que, por ironia ou destino, carrega a ideia de algo que não é totalmente real — mas que pode se tornar.

Maya sempre acreditou que sonhar era a forma mais simples de começar a transformar o mundo. E foi isso que fez desde menina: imaginou.

Anos depois, já adulta, Maya usou a realidade virtual para planejar seu apartamento. Com a ajuda de um óculos especial, ela foi transportada para dentro de um ambiente digital totalmente imersivo. Caminhou por corredores que ainda não existiam, tocou paredes que ainda estavam no projeto, testou cores, móveis e texturas como se estivesse em sua casa futura. Aquilo não era apenas uma simulação — era um espaço construído por recursos digitais que substituíam o mundo real, mesmo que por alguns minutos [1].

Esse tipo de tecnologia é chamada de realidade virtual (VR) — uma experiência em que o usuário entra por completo em um ambiente simulado, deixando de lado o que está à sua volta. É como viver dentro de um sonho digital, onde tudo pode ser programado, modelado e testado antes de existir de verdade [2].

Mas se Maya tivesse optado por outro caminho, poderia ter usado a realidade aumentada (AR). Nesse caso, ela apenas apontaria o celular para o espaço vazio de seu apartamento ainda em construção e veria, pela tela, os móveis virtuais sobrepostos ao ambiente real. Como se o futuro se revelasse por cima do presente, camada por camada.

Diferente da realidade virtual, que cria um mundo fechado e totalmente digital, a realidade aumentada mistura o real com o digital, fazendo o mundo físico ganhar informações visuais extras, como se fossem legendas vivas do espaço ao nosso redor [3].

Em ambos os casos, Maya usou recursos digitais para ver o que ainda não existia. Assim como fazia quando criança, quando sonhava com uma casa, com um lar, com um futuro que parecesse amor.

As tecnologias de realidade virtual e aumentada, como dizem os estudiosos, não são apenas recursos técnicos — são formas de contar histórias. A VR conta a história por dentro, colocando o usuário dentro da narrativa. A AR conta a história por cima, conectando dados digitais ao mundo real. Ambas criam narrativas sensíveis, interativas e personalizadas, que permitem imaginar possibilidades, explorar caminhos e até revisitar memórias [2][3].

E foi isso que Maya fez. Quando terminou sua sessão de realidade virtual, as lágrimas já haviam tocado seu rosto. Não de tristeza, mas de gratidão. A tecnologia a ajudou a sonhar de novo — e a sentir, quase de verdade, o beijo da mãe, o abraço da irmã, e o calor de uma casa que foi imaginada primeiro no coração.

Defunct Vietnamese American mutual/public benefit nonprofits incorporated in northern California from 1972 to 2019.

This week is the 49th anniversary of the end of South Vietnam, compelling hundreds of thousands to seek refuge in other countries and rebuild their livelihood. I've organized this list in a format similar to Maya Lin's design of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial (which itself focuses on the American veterans).

I see patterns of multiple attempts of certain themes, such as chamber of commerces, women associations, veteran groups, etc. Sometimes this reveals a leadership transition problem. Some certainly have spiritual successors, such as the California Vietnamese Lawyers Association (1979–2021) succeeded by the Vietnamese American Bar Association of Northern California (2001–). It's important to keep in mind that these orgs started because mainstream America could not effectively help the incoming Vietnamese who had limited English proficiency. Over time as more of the younger generation were able to speak English, they could access programs from mainstream orgs, reducing the need for Vietnamese-speaking ones, and eventually the org would slowly fade into irrelevance. That's not to say we're completely integrated; accessibility issues due to language barriers still continue to exist.

It is a reminder of the headwinds we face when trying to build a community and our resolve to try and try again to address unmet needs.
