Oh, to have the fortune to patronize Nar Shaddaa these past glorious weeks! What an inspired festival has come to the planet - and as a melting pool of exotic beings, cultures, and flavors, there is no better place for it!

I speak, of course, of the Feast of Prosperity, the culinary creation of Hutt partners Gaboorga and Duuba. Equally part charity, part five-star Mch'lin Platter pop-up restaurant, part galactic safari, and part dinner theatre, the Feast beckons everyone from every background to attend. And how it delivers!

A true shame that Imperial Life's occasional food critic Alaric Faro could not be bothered to provide a full review of the cuisine on offer this time last year ... despite being a food critic. I could not let readers down, and I am pleased to report that a round-trip cruise to Nar Shaddaa this season would not be poorly timed!

The exclusive skyrise dining experience is a-whirl with groan-worthy scents and tastes!

The height of the feast's culinary creations populate a limited menu of five plates curated by none other than Head Chef Popotis himself! With such plates as Roast Bog Snarler featuring succulently crisped skin and sweet tubers; luminescent Swamp Lentil Soup steeped with earthy glowshooms, cream, and savory oils; or the "Full Huttese" Breakfast Platter of delectable grophet bacon, soft-boiled nuna eggs, spiced n' diced desert tubers, and "2D" flatcakes with stewed vormfruit and snow-sugar, there is something to fit every palate! If you come with a Hutt-sized appetite, you can opt for the course menu instead of a la carte, and have the privilege of sampling each and every dish.

For the select and fortunate few - those privileged enough to contribute to the the Hutts' fundraising efforts - an even more exclusive dining experience is on offer. Head Chef Popotis has acquired the rarest of ingredients for his most delectable appetizers in the donors' lounge: savory rancor liver spread, electric crysfang chromatophore plates, and tender orlax hearts on the side of rare-strain kibla greens dressed with sunseed drizzle. These samplers wouldn't be complete, of course, without miniature crisp-pastries filled with wraid ampulla jelly, fried ice cat whiskers decking salted caramel orbs, Dantooine cheeses garnished with parasitic clingmoss and glowfruits, or thermal-boundary softnut soups topped with the captivating subtelty of nova-yellow poola blossom threads.

If the accessibility of Popotis' exclusive menus is a sticking point, then you get to experience the Adventure Kitchen at Bog's Bounty Banquet Hall where apprentice chefs re-enact the master chef's favorites - with their own regional flair, of course! And possibly also constrained by ingredients not yet fetched by the adventurers-for-hire. But fear not, each plate is crafted under the expert tutelage of Popotis' own J4-SN chef droid, affectionately nicknamed, "Jason."

Like the exclusive menu, the Adventure Menu is also limited, and just to two meals at any given time. Wander in and out of the Feast grounds over the course of a week to sample Jellied Glowshroom Stew, Spicy Nexu Supreme, Exotic Medley Delight, Braised Scyk Belly, or the Ultimate Galactic Sampler. The randomness of the ingredients ensures that each taste experience will be perfectly unique! Your Spicy Nexu Supreme might one day consist of painfully tender grilled nexu tongue over enticingly charred, sweet vormfruit with rich primeval marrow butter and a thick, chunky nexu gravy ... while another day will see your grilled nexu paired with melt-in-your-mouth bekbek root mash - or crisped fries! - and salted ice sauce with cooling crystal bits to help offset that spicy kick. Okay, Revelation S2 prediction!

I confess, I have a crush on King Grayskull from Masters of the Universe: Revelation. I read about him at Wiki Grayskull, where I learned that the MOTU:R prequel comics gave him a backstory.

According to the wiki, one of Grayskull’s sons was “killed” (rendered comatose) by a monster called the Orlax. Determined to stop the creature and unable to harm it with ordinary weapons, he forged the Sword of Protection.

If the comics are canonical, Grayskull is well-acquainted with a father’s grief. He knows the pain, anger, and helplessness that a parent feels after losing a child, as does his foil, Randor. Whereas Grayskull channeled his grief into constructive activities meant to protect others, Randor hid his grief behind anger and lashed out at his closest friends. Grief propelled Grayskull into acts of selflessness and Randor into acts of selfishness. The contrast is striking.

I predict that Grayskull’s backstory will come up vis-a-vis Randor in season 2. Here are some possibilities:

Randor and Adam reunite. Adam is aghast at Randor’s actions following his death, and tells him about how King Grayskull reacted to the death of his son. Randor is contrite and seeks to atone for how he treated Duncan, Orko, and Cringer.

Skeletor’s apotheosis is an existential threat to Eternia. The souls of the heroic dead leave Preternia to defend their home. After his return to the realm of the living, King Grayskull meets Randor, and the two talk about how they coped with their respective sons’ deaths. Randor sees the error of his ways.

okay but I NEED to know your orga/laxus relationship headcanons, nsfw, etc. (if it's okay with you ofc) because this is the best ship that nobody talks about

So I talked about godslaying magic here, in this post about Zancrow, and wrote it as having a lot to do with how psychotic and violent Zancrow is. I also happen to believe proto-dragonization has a lot to do with exacerbating the effects of Laxus' burgeoning mental breakdown that had its tipping point in the Fantasia arc. I also wrote that those negative effects feed into themselves the more the godslaying magic is used.

This poses problems for both of them, especially Orga, who doesn't have purely elemental lightning magic to fall back onto like Laxus, and is highly incentivized to use his magic frequently by the hype that sustains Sabertooth.

I think they'll have enough ease getting along just due to chemistry in their personalities, but needing help doesn't hurt, nor does:

These two probably bonded very very quickly. Not only were they all but flirting in the leadup to their GMG fight, but they both have a love of music that is very noticeable, like their punk aesthetics, and are very lowkey otherwise. Can Orga sing? Debatable. Will he be a hell of a lot of fun at karaoke? Yes.

I think their first fling happens relatively early into their friendship. Honestly a bit of a speed record for friends-to-friends-with-benefits. It was a natural course for them--they are the ultimate masc4masc fuckboi hookup.

And maybe it's through that fling that they discover something pretty useful; Dragonslaying magic and "godslaying" magic (corrupted/cursed dragonslaying magic) have an inherent opposing quality, almost like a positive and negative charge.

And by fighting each other and kissing each other, and just being around each other, they can temper their internal magic's discharge-like backlash that causes brain degeneration. Doctor approved!

No really they probably went to Porlyusica and she told them to keep hanging out.

This would also handily explain why corrupted brain degeneration isn't affecting Chelia either, since she hangs out with Wendy so much.

It's a slow thing, but that friends-with-benefits angle slowly deepens for them, especially with Orga, who originally thought of Laxus as just a very powerful mage in a powerful guild. Laxus may be something of a thug, but he's also well-read, introspective, and respects history, and it makes Orga want to improve himself.

Their fights get brutal. Not even arguments, because they rarely have them, but their sparring matches pursued just for fun. They are both very competitive, and unused to being challenged on an even footing. Orga actually being able to hurt Laxus makes up any difference in their power easily.

Laxus ends up with significant extents of lightning scars. Yeah yeah, Laxus with lightning scars, we've all seen those posts--but consider that a) Orga feels horrified when he sees them later and b) Laxus has to shout them down because he actually thinks they look sick as fuck and he loves them. They're dark, too, black like Orga's lightning before they fade to normal a few days later, so it's like getting more tattoos.

I like to think that Orga has a deeply-hidden romantic side. He's probably into cooking, has an instagram where he posts the supermodel equivalent of foodinsta, looking oh so delicious. He likes to write lyrics, too. Laxus gets into that stuff--he could sit for hours and watch Orga pore over a set of verses he wrote himself (and maybe even help) or watch him dither trying to make a three-hour meal for two people (and help because he feels guilty).

Orga's nickname in Sabertooth is "big bro" by the young'uns, or "uncle" when they feel like disrespecting him. When he officially becomes a thing with Laxus, this also extends to him, and much like they do with Cobra, Sting and Rogue slap Laxus with the big bro label.

When you spend that much time around another person, both because they heal you physically and because they heal you socially, you start to learn them. Every little intimate detail. For Laxus and Orga, that means not only learning each other's scent, but learning each other's "scent" (how they appear when being picked up via electroreception) and even how the other's lightning tends to sound when far away.

The instas go wiiiiiiild babey. The thirsty gays were already congregating around the two but when they start appearing in each other's stories??? Absolute hoe madness in the comments. The twinks are dying. Someone send help. Modeling contracts are flooding in. Constant requests to start an OF together.

Laxus is openly bisexual and Orga is openly gay, but neither one of them has ever been huge or loud about it. But they do go to their first Pride together, and it's a great experience for both of them. Orga in particular feels like he's being rewired in the best way being there.

Eight's hobby, besides wandering off while everyone else is stuck with bureaucracy in the Alliance, is bringing back cultivation methods from whatever locals live in the area. As a result, his latest hobby happens to be outdoor cooking. He's quite fond of making cheese from his pair of Orlaxes.

Besides being a way to make food on his travels and passing the time outside, whenever someone from the Alliance comes by to try to get him to do more work, he derails the conversation by giving them whatever new food he's been trying to make and sending them back with it.

Theron in particular has been duped several times by this distraction tactic because Eight always insists he can give the food to the object of his affections/significant other, to which Theron takes the bait eager to please, and then he comes back to the base with 10x more knowledge in bread-baking, completely covered in flour with a quarter wheel of cheese but having completely forgotten what he was supposed to actually be doing.

Mysteries of Grayskull: Explorer Space Suit, Orlax Of Primeria and Spirit Of Grayskull

Maniacal Mimics: Faker and Dupli-Cat

The Horde: Hordak, Grizzlor and 2* Horde Troopers.

Unfortunately, the Maniacal Mimics set (which is the one I was most looking forward to) had a shipping mishap whereby the front of the outer box got badly damaged (the back though is perfect as shown in the above), causing significant damage to the inner box, crumpling and cracking the window plastic, ripping the front, top and one side of the package but thankfully not damaging either Faker or Dupli-Cat.

alright now that part 2 is out I thought it would be a good idea to see what got checked off my wishlist and what didn’t!

- Orko being alive AND getting a scene where he properly reunites with everyone: ehhhh? He’s alive again (which I’m very glad for) but the reunion did feel rushed, if you could even call it a reunion - it was more Orko revealing that he had been brought back, his friends being happy about it for a bit, and Orko going to fight whatever was fighting them. I think I’ve said this somewhere before but this show really could have used more episodes per part in order to go deeper into certain plot points, Orko’s revival among them. He didn’t even react to the fact that Adam was alive!

- Everyone getting some time to talk about their emotions: I was pleasantly surprised by this but yeah, we actually got that! Teela talked to her mom, Adam talked to both of his parents, Adam and Teela had a chat about how he kept the secret for justifiable reasons but it still hurt others, etc. All of the conversations were very well done in my opinion, and it was probably one of my favorite parts of the show.

- Everybody getting to live: oh ancients I cursed us all

- Getting the stuff that was mentioned in the prequel comics addressed to some degree: We got the Orlax (which kind of disappeared from the plot after it escaped), as well as a very condensed version of Lyn’s backstory. Sadly there was no mention of Dead Skeleton Wife or Skeleton Child, which I was hoping for.

- Having some time devoted to addressing the state of Eternia when Adam was dead as well as Randor/Marlena’s actions during that time: Kind of? I guess? Not as much as I would have liked but we got a look into how their marriage was impacted so I guess that counts?

- Lyn and Beastman having more scenes together/a redemption arc: I’ll give this one a half of a checkmark. They did have more scenes together, and Lyn had a redemption arc, but Beastman just got thrown off a cliff, which I’m still upset about. He deserved to have a happy ending as much as her!

- More Clamp Champ: Well! We uh. We sure had more Clamp Champ. He was indeed on screen and talking. Yup. 

(shout out to my friend who messaged me on discord to tell me that clamp champ was doing things only for them to see what happened to him as soon as she sent said message, you’re very sweet for immediately thinking of me and I’m so sorry I dragged you into the clamp champ fanclub only for this to happen)

- Snout Spout: Kevin did not deliver in the Snout Spout category and my sibling is very disappointed. His backstory does involve the Horde experimenting on him, though, so maybe we’ll get him in the next season?

What is on your wishlist for season 2 for MOTU revelation?

Thank you for asking and sorry this took so long! Here's my wishlist, in no particular order:

- Orko being alive AND getting a scene where he properly reunites with everyone, not just him going "oh I'm back now lol" and them being like "ok cool." Let Adam and Orko have time to interact after both thinking the other was dead! Let Duncan have a call-back to his "machines can be repaired, you can't" line from the Filmation series! Let there be some sort of big group hug thing!

- Everyone getting some time to talk about their emotions honestly. Roboto's dead, Adam's been made into a freaking shish kebab, Teela still doesn't know that the Sorceress is her mom...just some time to breathe would be good imo. Maybe there could be a breather episode before the final battle or something.

- Everybody just getting to live. Please I want everyone to be happy and not dead.

- Getting the stuff that was mentioned in the prequel comics addressed to some degree. There could be an epilogue where Skeletor's daughter shows up on Eternia, or Lyn could have some flashbacks to her Horde days. There are some really neat concepts in the comics that I think could be fleshed out more in the show.

- Having some time devoted to addressing the state of Eternia when Adam was dead as well as Randor/Marlena's actions during that time. While it probably won't happen this way I would love for Randor to tell a hospitalized Adam that he needs to keep him safe and Adam retorting with "oh, like how you kept Duncan and Orko safe?"

- Lyn and Beastman having more scenes together/a redemption arc!

- MORE CLAMP CHAMP. PLEASE I AM BEGGING YOU GIVE HIM SOME LINES. LET HIM BE ON SCREEN FOR MORE THAN 10 SECONDS.

- This one isn't really for me but my sibling really likes Snout Spout and was pretty bummed when he wasn't in Season 1 so I hope he shows up in Season 2!

Also went swooping, which was nerve wracking considering she’s level 32 and two of the planets are 70+. 😅 Aside from getting one shorted by an orlax on Onderon it was fine. And it got her to level 35, so she has Dirty Kick and Disappearing Act now and life will be much easier.

Took Kina for a brief gambling break between Tatooine and Alderaan and she won the claw machine pet 😎
