Got to "Rage" in my rewatch and that Thanksgiving dinner scene... Clark looking happily at Oliver, Lois and Chloe... they would be such a perfect polycule!

Ekoda Ganga polycule headcanons? They are fun as a friend group too though.

I'm not lying to you, I like them as an OT4, but I don't think much about what they make as a couple. I mostly think of them as a group of friends, so I'll give you platonical headcanons, but you can think of them as romantics.

First of all, I can't help but think of them as the group of people who seem normal in plain sight, but are not. They're all a little crazy or out of their minds.

And I can see each of them thinking “I'm the most normal person in the room”, no, Aoko is not normal, she and Kaito have only one brain cell and they literally take turns using it. She is just as dumb as he is.

1.Aoko is the only one who can tame those angry beasts she calls friends when they are in an argument. She will call them “Kaito and Hakuba stop fighting! or Kaito don't bother Akako!” and they will listen to her, Kaito will resist but will be chased by a mop.

I can't help but imagine Aoko at a costume party dressed up as Cruella de Vil accompanied by “her 3 dogs”, Kaito is the one most offended by being the Dalmatian, Hakuba is a German Shepherd and Akako is a Rottweiler.

As a bonus, Keiko is a pomerain.

2.Everyone trembles in fear when Kaito and Akako agree on something. That only means trouble.

I can see a scene where Ekoda Gang is trapped with Hattori and Shinichi somewhere and they have the following conversation:

Shinichi: We need ideas to get out of here. Does anyone have one?

Akako: *raises hand*

Hakuba: No, Akako we won't use THAT.

Akako: *puts her hand down*

Kaito, who is wearing Hakuba's coat over his head, raises his hand: I have an idea…!

Hakuba: No, you can't do that!

Hattori: I'm still wondering why you put your coat over his head?

Hakuba: That's not important, we have to concentrate on escaping!

Shinichi: You just rejected the ideas of two of your friends a moment ago without even listening to them. Don't you think you should concentrate on escaping?

Hakuba, pointing at Kaito and Akako: Ignore those two, don't listen to them, pretend they don't exist, and don't take off your coat for any reason, Kaito! What's more, I want you both to go to the corner, and reflect on your actions!

Akako: That's not fair!

Kaito: We haven't done anything yet!

Hakuba: And keep it that way, I'm watching you!

3.They all look normal, but the truth is that they have their weird things:

Hakuba has the dental records, important documents (original and copy) of all his friends.

He reminds me of those mothers who keep their children's baby teeth, he would keep his friends', and in his notebook he sticks pictures of the most peculiar milestones, even though he thinks they are worth mentioning.

He has a photo of Akako digging up corpses with the title of “His first mooring”, of Aoko in her archery competition where she unintentionally shot a random person “his first assassination attempt” for Kaito has two spaces, since he divides it between KID and his civilian identity, of Kid has “His first international robbery” and for Kaito is “His first fight against a bear”.

Kaito is the guy who fights animals (yeah, sorry, I don't get him down from that anymore). He has the weirdest fears, he's afraid of the dark (he's a thief who mostly steals at night) and he's afraid of fish (he lives in a country surrounded by a huge ocean, where the main food is fish).

This guy has a totally altered perspective on reality.

Not to mention that he uses theft as a duel.

Akako digs up corpses from the cemetery and goes to the forest to perform rituals, he has been seen dancing around a bonfire.

As most people get carried away with her sweet Aoko appearance, no one thinks she is really dangerous, in fact she has a guilty taste for tormenting people with her phobias, but she tries to keep it under control as best she can.

Conversation about Aoko and Akako:

Akako: So I thought it would be fun if I made them have nightmares for a week or something."

Aoko: I think you should use their phobias if you want them to be left with after-effects.

Kaito: Please, can't you guys talk about makeup or normal girl stuff? For the love of god, can we have a normal sleepover where we talk about love interests instead of planning how to get revenge on people? You guys genuinely scare me a lot.

Hakuba, wearing a skincare: I don't think you're the right person to say that considering your situation.

5. They are all criminals, except Kaito.

I imagine Ginzo driving, while he is scolding the three teenagers sitting in the back of the car, while Kaito is sitting next to him looking at them disappointed.

Ginzo: I can't believe it, how come you three always get into trouble! Akako for robbing graves, Hakuba for stalking, and you Aoko for public disorder! You should learn from Kaito, he never gets into trouble!

Aoko, Akako and Hakuba thinking: He is Kaitou KID, the international thief.

The three of them look angrily at the magician, he is just as bad as them, the difference is that he is better at hiding the evidence of what he did.

For me, Ginzo is the adult who drives them to certain places, although I think they rotate between him, Akako's servant, Baaya and Jii.

6. I like the thought that they also take extracurricular classes together.

It's even been the case that they spend vacations together, and take turns at each other's houses.

The four of them have gone to Vegas together to see Kaito's mother and Jii has accompanied them, they went to a witch camp and did a ritual in the middle of a bonfire, they took a photo and made a postcard for Akako's servant who was fascinated, they went to London and Hakuba dragged them with Sherlock Holmes cosplay on Baker Street and then a road trip with Aoko and her father.

I can't help but think that Ginzo adopted Hakuba, because they surely solve many cases together, not only the ones involving KID.

I can see them sitting in the police car drinking hot chocolate while waiting for the criminal.

I like to think that even though Hakuba is taller when Nakamori sees him finishing a deduction he pats his head as if to say "well done".

I’m still thinking about the BDSM etiquette poll, and how it applies to the VK polycule, because even when I’m obsessed with other fandoms, I’m always thinking about the rotten ot4 and how they could cause So Many Problems On Purpose

The VK polycule is doing GREAT at safe bdsm practices, if you ask them. They know all about Badness, Dumbassery, Scandals, and Malpractice. That's why there's four of them. Mal handles badness, Jay covers dumbassery, Evie's in charge of scandals, and Carlos does scientific malpractice. 

Most of the sex they have together is not, strictly speaking, all of them together. They usually break off into pairs, or sometimes trios, if they're feeling wild. The four of them tend to stick together when it comes to things like sleeping in a pile for warmth, and split into smaller groups when it comes to the Auradon definition of bdsm. 

Mal definitely doesn't know what safe practices are. She got an evil version of abstinence-only education, which means that she was told "all relationships are a weakness, don't have them ever", and rolled with that until Jay, as her totally platonic sidekick/minion/BFF, suggested that they should make out. For rebellion reasons. Going against their parents wishes, and stuff. 

Mal 100% likes to be In Charge, and she's not especially risk aware about it. She gets in her own head and forgets to consult others about it. (See: D2, when she's trying to talk to Evie and then Carlos about being unhappy. My awful babygirl does NOT know how to read a room when she's emotional). So long as nobody gets hurt in ways they don't want, it's FINE. She knows how to stop when they REALLY mean it. Like that time with the unfortunate strap-on incident. She stopped! She gave her minion/sidekick/partner in crime SPACE TO CALM DOWN. She totally didn't freak out and dip. Not at all. That was RESPECTFUL DISTANCE, which is what she'd want if she was the one on the other end of things. 

Jay is the opposite of Mal, in that he prefers to Not Be In Charge Ever. I know we all (meaning all three likeminded mutuals, you know who you are) like to talk about Jay being the loyal knight/guard dog/protector, but I think we can make it weirder. A knight in service to his queen does whatever he's asked. A guard dog follows their master's lead. Protecting Mal from herself means that when she's feeling an emotion and wants to fuck about it, he's going to be ready and available so that she doesn't make worse choices and go looking for a pirate hookup. I truly, deeply believe that Jay would be into service submission. With Mal, that probably looks like him being up for anything his fearless leader wants to try, regardless of if he's actually okay with it or not. 

With Evie, Jay gets to be a lot sweeter. Evie wants to be treated like the princess she is, and unlike Mal, she actually got sex ed, and knows that they're doing kink. She got her sex ed from her mother, which means she learned all about how to use sex for emotional manipulation and pushing men's buttons, but what is kink if not pushing all of the secret buttons that men try to hide? Evie and Jay do sweet, careful service submission, and Evie makes sure to bring him down gently after their marathon oral sessions. Her mother told her that men are most vulnerable after sex, and Evie would never leave one of her gang members vulnerable and alone. She's a good caretaker. She takes care of her toys. 

Evie and Mal have surprisingly vanilla sex most of the time, except for when they're arguing. When they're mad at each other, they have mind-blowingly good hate sex, and then Mal gets embarrassed and refuses to cuddle with Evie because that counts as Having An Emotion and that's illegal. Also, this one time when Mal was getting distracted, Evie threatened to tie her down with an iron necklace chain so she wouldn't move until she was done with her?? And Mal?? Just???? Brain overload?? Too hot?? 

When they have hate sex, they both know that no means more, stop means keep going, and fuck your entire bloodline means I love you. They don't have a safeword, but they both have a strong sense of personal boundaries (unlike the boys) and know how to say seriously, no, I don't mean that in a fun way right now. 

Carlos prefers to keep his kink out of the other's sex lives, thanks. He prefers the scientific malpractice to happen with clothes on, because it's easier to conduct behavioral observations when the others aren't acting weird about being naked. He can enjoy watching Jay blush and squirm with his pants still on, and if Jay's getting off on hearing him say filthy, stupid things, then that's none of his business. 

Unlike the other three, Carlos gave himself unfiltered access to the dial-up internet at a young age, and spent some formative years reading online kink forums. He's fully aware of kink discourse, and read up a bunch on the merits of SSC vs RACK vs "just don't be stupid". He's tried some solo stuff. Didn't get a lot out of it. Decided that he's ace, and then never brought up any of this reading to the rest of the polycule, because he DOES NOT WANT TO KNOW about their sex lives, so he's not going to start that conversation. 

(later on, after the polycule absorbs Ben, they start to have the responsible kink conversations. Ben was a lonely kid with largely unrestricted internet access. He's known since the first throws of puberty that he's a monsterfucker who wants to play all his options. He's PREPARED, okay. He's got worksheets. He's going to drag his villains into Doing Responsible Kink, kicking and screaming if need be). 

(later-later on, after the VKs are a lot more settled in Auradon, and somewhat less afraid of being dumped for being Horrible Deviant Villains, Carlos does some self-searching and realizes that he's willing to experiment a little bit with sex, so long as it's only guys, and he doesn't have to be the one keeping it together the whole time. He's Not the kind of bossy dom that works well with Jay's flavor of kink, and he's not interested in casual sex or sex with girls, so it took until he got really comfortable with Ben, who is a much softer flavor of switch, to realize that he's open to experimenting)

Otp, Notp, and one night stand with for Sonia, Gundham, Mondo, and Sayaka

I'm going to be shooting some bit of canon in the foot with this, but who give a shit.

Gundham

OTP: Sondam is my beloved. It's a straight ship, sure, but autism^2 is such a good premise for a ship. Like, even without that being a key selling feature, they both care about animals so much, and they're both so alienated from people around them that they're perfect together in my mind. With that said though, Gundham and Hajime, very specifically @/dead-or-lie's Hajime, are quickly becoming a close second for me when they were already a strong second, lol. The polycule we're working on is my OT4, and I'm excited to develop it more.

NoTP: Him and Nekomaru. I'm sorry, but I don't like killer x victim ships, or rather I don't like most of them, but specifically Nekomaru, I don't think they even like each other. I think they respect each other, though. Idk, I think their platonic dynamic is WAY more interesting than their romantic ship is.

One night stand: Kazuichi. I do ship them because Soudam is just a different flavor of Ishimondo in my eyes, but ya know, I don't have as much attachment to this ship yet, sorry.

Mondo

OTP: I think it's well known how much of an Ishimondo fan I am, lol. Before I orphaned that Ao3 account I had 35 fics that were almost solely Ishimondo fics with very few exceptions. They are the OTP for me, and I adore them immensely. A close second though is Owamiki, and that's because their dynamic is just the cutest to me.

NoTP: Naemondo. I don't violently oppose it like I do Naeishi, but I'm still angry that Makoto called Mondo cold hearted for what he did but let Togami and Celeste off without a comment like that. Idk, I just think Naegi only goes for girls and twinks. He's too weak to handle a hunk.

One night stand: Junko? Oowashima is a ship that I love platonically as a counterpart to my aesthetic Ishikuro ship, but idk, I guess a quick one thing would be all right between them.

Sayaka

OTP: I don't really have one OTP for her, but I do have a lot of people who I adore shipping her with, most of them women. @/dead-or-lie's Mikan with Sayaka, though, is my favorite ship with her, though, followed by @/91cmspoliers' Izuru and @/aikidoheroine's Tenko.

NoTP: Naezono. I'm sorry, but even if I didn't dislike Naegi, I would dislike the ship. To me, it just feels like a ship where one character is never going to fundamentally accept the other is not who they seem to be and only look at it on a surface level which bothers me in a weird way.

One night stand: Uh... Ibuki? I don't really ship them, but I don't not ship them, you know? I just never really thought about it seriously.

Sonia

OTP: See Gundham because other than the switching the Hajime part for Reese's Mikan then it's just the same paragraph.

NoTP: Canon!Sounia is a ship I don't like. Sorry, but canon Kazuichi with Sonia is just really creepy to me, and I don't like the ship. I do like seeing people on here explore it more, but in canon, absolutely not.

One night stand: Is it wrong to say either Korekiyo or Syo? Idk, I think those are the types that she would go after, and the fact that Korekiyo and Sonia both canonically have fucked just makes it a little funny in my eyes.

I wish you would write a fic where Elrond and Celebrimbor and Celebrian and Gil-galad and everyone gets to be happy and platonically/romantically in love.

Also, To Partake is lovely and I keep rereading bits and on three occasions this week I wishes there was a podfic of it so I could listen while cleaning.

An everybody-lives-nobody-dies polyamory AU would be the loveliest most self indulgent thing I think I would ever write. The idea of intrigues me and I feel like it would be a lot of fun, though if I were to do it I probably would write it more along the lines of my Silm interpretation of the characters (especially Gil). A couple oneshots would be fun.

I already have a vague concept in my head of a Valinor AU that includes a Celrondir + Gilrond OT4 situation. (With Cel and Lindir being sexual-romantic partners with Elrond, and everybody being platonic partners with Gil), so daydreaming about various OT4s that involve Elrond is not outside my realm of indulgence :D

oh, okay. hello. i guess to preface this; these are my opinions, partly formed from hcs and rps, fanfic, personal thoughts, fun ideas.

and like i mean. most of these i would write. i love to pre-establish / plot ooc before i ship in rp normally

im gonna preface this ask as romantic ships

CLINT BARTON -> i have a dozen of these way more and its hard to do a top 5, like there are so many things i ship with clint, like so many (and so many non canon ships; actually their are probbaly non cnaon ship i ship way more than clintasha but ssshh)

Hawkingbird (Bobbi M. + Clint) -> that's my heart and soul right here, barbie and ken of marvel, number one, would kill for

Ironhawk (Tony S. + Clint) -> look look this is my second most shipped thing, and like oh man the thread w/ mts giving me brainrot about them

Winterhawk (Bucky B. + Clint) -> they just make me giggle in recent canon, but even back in CW1, while there wasn't a lot; there is something to be said about the two "trained by captain amercia" boys, and candidates to be the next cap boys (yes clint was in the running for that)

Spiderhawk (Jessica D. + Clint) -> hear me out, they were very cute, they had a lot of fun together; there was real potential; jess just happened at a huge transitional period for clint, and like than he goes and cheats, can't communicate, but like they really are cute and they brought out the fun in each other

Clintasha (Natasha R. + Clint) -> look i love that, clint will always love and be in love w/ natasha; they aren't my highest rated ship, actually im mentioning them here to put out; that like she is his best friend, and i really love them platonically like oh boy i could go on about that ( but i do ship them romantically too just not as much as platonic ) also natasha is always the one he ends up trying for chance and chance again with her

My heart aches for Pepper that he's been dead in-universe timeline for probably longer than they were married; i have many headcanons about pepper and happy, especially in terms of my pepper; and just them. the iron family babes. tony's married friends. and just I would weep for comic/616 happy to write ahh

Pepperony (Tony S. + Pepper) -> look they may have never dated, or done more than kiss and sleep together like once or twice in 616/comic canon; whereas mcu did put them romantically which could have been done so much better (but i like the concept). NOW I love them Platonically. SO MUCH. They are best friends, and I have a lot of hcs about them just based in platonics and friendship, and actual canon... but yeah, i'd be so for them to actually explore a romantic relationship, and ship them romantically, as lovers.

Maria Hill/Pepper -> Ship Pepper with women. Look you know, hear me out. Just yes. Like YES? Before both being burned by Tony. To Maria just being shocked that Pepper Potts of all people /saved her/ to them just both being workaholics with /problems/ to bonding over stress, and drinks, and just Maria and Pepper finding common ground; and pepper plus woman makes my lesbian soul happy

Steve R. / Pepper -> self indulgent. self indulgent thoughts. headcanons of when steve is woken from the ice and tony is talking about that; and what his "bodyguard" tells him about steve; to pepper meeting steve, cause she's tony's PA/EA rolled into one, and getting to know steve/captain america cause of that through the early years of avengers, and just being friends with all the first avengers cause of her proximity to tony/iron man... to romance with captain america, steve rogers, and its so self indulgent. let her date a hero she just looks up and thinks is dreamy.

Natasha R/ Pepper -> same reasons as Maria. Don't have much to say, but boy would i ship it

Over time, you’ve noticed things about the dynamics of your girlfriends and how they treat each other and you in privacy compared to out in the open. 

For instance, Fade has always been singled out from the moment she arrived on the base, but you were one of the first to properly bring her into the fold. Sure, she might’ve exposed your private information, but bygones are bygones— you have better things to focus on. For that reason, Fade has a natural inclination to stick closer to you, remaining within your line of sight or somewhere nearby. 

Reyna, by nature, is naturally possessive over her territory, which includes you. If she’s around, expect her to be very close by. You never mind her presence— despite her outward disposition, she’s very warm to you in close quarters, speaking softly and with so much care it’s hard to believe she’s a frigid bitch otherwise (her words, not yours). 

Sage, the sweetheart that she is, usually acts very similar in public and in private, just with less PDA around others. She’s very shy when it comes to publicly displaying her affection (it’s a wonder that she’s dating Reyna, of all people). A simple holding of your hand and a smile is more than enough for her. 

Viper is, undoubtedly, the worst. She spends enough time shackled in her lab that you seek her out. Usually, she has a “no visitors allowed” sign in her lab, but you’re one of few exemptions. Viper is never the first to initiate any touching unless she’s in a very specific mood. Despite it, Viper does deeply care for you, even if it doesn’t show as strongly through her stone cold mask. 

Reyna and Sage have been dating for the longest— Reyna immediately drifted to the healer upon her arrival to the base, showering Sage with affection until the woman crumbled and fell for her. As such, the two of them are extremely close and the depths of their love run deeper than anything you know. 

Fade has a deep respect and love for Sage; when the Nightmares began to haunt her at the Protocol, Fade sought out anyone who could even try to understand her. That person was Sage, who saw Fade at the worst— shadows and nightmares trickling out of Fade’s eyes, whispers of death on the wall and in her mind— and took care of Fade. 

Viper and Fade share a close relationship that not even you understand. The two of them are platonic in public, but behind closed doors, they’re magnetic. They have conversations without even speaking, and the sexual tension between them is thicker than molasses on a stick. You’re not sure what draws them both to each other, and you’re not sure you wanna find out anyway. 

Reyna is such a whore for baiting Fade. After so much time, Reyna can’t bait Viper or Fade (or you) into reacting, but since Fade is still kinda new, she falls more easily into Reyna’s traps. More than once you’ve caught them angrily making out in the gym showers, and once, you saw Reyna flat on her back on the coffee table in the lounge room. (Poor Cypher. He has to erase all the evidence.)

Viper is never one to fall for Reyna’s tricks, but it doesn’t mean they don’t like each other. They hate-fucked so much that they ended up falling for each other. Viper is callous and cold enough to withstand even the worst of Reyna’s anger, and Reyna knows how to keep the snake at bay. Together, they keep each other in check, for better or worse. 

Sage constantly checks on Viper to ensure the scientist is eating and taking care of herself. It’s through this repeated process of attention that Viper let her walls down around the healer to experience emotions. The simple act of Sage caring was enough for Viper, and the two of them have always felt strongly for one another. 

With you in the mix, it’s a thousand times better. You have four different people you can go to when you need someone to talk to, someone to hug, someone to cry with, so on and so forth. Some people are better at some things, but one thing that continually surprises you is the dedication of these women. 

Fade remembers every single date of something important— your birthday, your anniversary with her, your anniversary with the others. She also memorizes your entire schedule ahead of time (what else is she supposed to do when she can’t sleep?) so she knows when to pull you away for a moment alone. 

Sage looks after you, on and off the battlefield. When you lead the charge with your teammates, Sage isn’t far behind. When you’re in need of a shoulder to cry on or some patching up, Sage is there with her soft words and soothing touch. 

Reyna would go to war for you the moment you’re in danger. The moment she hears you cry out in pain, her skin is turning translucent and she becomes a machine, unrelenting and unwilling to stop until every enemy is dead at her feet. Off the battlefield, Reyna showers you with love and attention in the form of flirty innuendos and whispers in your ear. 

Viper shows her affection through her actions rather than her words. If she sees you getting stressed, she’ll bring you tea and some food (you think better on a full stomach). If you’re frustrated, she’ll go with you to the shooting range to sweat it out. When you have trouble sleeping, Viper pulls you into her chest so you can hear the rhythm of her heart. 

KINDA SPICY HEADCANONS

First things first— sex is something that doesn’t need to happen, but looking at Reyna, we all know it’s bound to happen eventually. 

Surprise surprise, Reyna power bottoms. She’ll bully anyone and everyone into getting so mad that they rail her, which is exactly what she’s looking for. You recall a time where you witnessed Viper getting so pissed with Reyna’s interruptions in her lab that Viper fucked Reyna on the counter just so she would shut up. Reyna left with shaking legs and you were giggling in the corner the entire time. 

Fade is either or— she’s fine with being on the top or the bottom, whichever the situation calls for. With you, she enjoys both sides of the coin. Some days, Fade needs more gentleness, and others, Fade likes the aggression. No matter what the mood is, there’s always the guarantee of fun with Fade’s Radiant abilities giving her the power of tethering. 

Sage is the classic definition of someone you’d call Mommy (Reyna does it all the time). She’s the person who will break all your walls down before breaking you apart with an orgasm. She takes her time and savors every moment she can get with you, and if you’re into it, Sage will absolutely tie you up with pretty silk ropes. She has a set for each of you; hot pink for Reyna; a deep, rich red for Fade; emerald green for Viper; and whatever your favorite color is, she has it for you. 

Don’t ever expect to top Viper— she’s extremely dominant in the bedroom, getting off on the control she can exert over all of you. Having Reyna at her knees is a power trip all in itself. As for you, Viper pushes you past your limits until you’re nothing but a squirming mess on the bed, and if she’s in a mood, she’ll make you wait and busy herself with her work (or another person. Fade gets the brunt of it most of the time). 

AFTERCARE :)

Snuggling is a must. Viper, being second in command, has one of the larger rooms on the base, leading to group snuggle sessions in her bed. 

Fade likes being the little spoon. The pressure of everyone else around her does well to keep her nightmares away, and she likes to cling onto people’s shirts while she sleeps (Fade also drools, but vehemently denies this, despite physical evidence). Fade likes snuggling with Viper and Sage the most, but enjoys it with you and Reyna. 

Reyna can overheat easily (something about her Radianite heart being overclocked) and likes to sleep on the edge so she can have her arms hanging off the side and the fan aimed at her on full blast. That being said, she will be the big spoon if needed, and often has a hand touching someone just to ground herself to reality. 

Sage loves being a little spoon or a big spoon, or just letting people lay on top of her. She enjoys all of it, and her favorite activity is playing with hair. Fade and Reyna will wake up with braids sometimes, and they always know who the culprit is. Sage big spoons often for Fade, so you like to big spoon Fade from the other angle and create a sandwich. 

Viper goes off onto the other edge of the bed. She sleeps in corpse pose, which is both terrifying and hilarious. Snuggling her is simply resting your head on her chest and holding her hand. Viper is prone to twitching in her sleep (stress jitters, as Sage would say) so sometimes you get jerked awake only to see Viper still passed out. 

When you’re not all snuggling together, sometimes you’ll escape into their rooms with them for a night alone. Fade has cats that sleep in her room and they love snuggling. Viper needs her alone time, and so does Reyna, but Sage is always more than happy to open up her bed for snuggles.

Epistolary/Chatfic/Social Media: For this prompt, we wanna see the receipts! Build a story out of the messages sent between your polycule, be they old-fashioned post or sliding into each other's DMs. Does direct communication make things easier or even more complicated? You decide!

Visual Prompt — Ship Dynamics Meme: Noszle has captured some great archetypes for OT3s and OT4s in cartoon form. Identity Porn: A classic of superhero and spy stories, this trope plays with the complications and consequences of living as multiple personas. Mythology AU: For this prompt, give your polycule some mythic proportions. We are happy to announce that we are gathering on October 2-8, 2022, to celebrate our favorite detective-and-karate-master couple! During this week, everyone is welcome to join us: veteran participants and brave new ones! This is a great chance to create something about this beautiful couple, be in the audience to admire all the incredible works, and enjoy the love of Shinichi and Ran!

The prompts will be revealed on Sunday 21.8. We have also planned to post mini-prompts every Friday, beginning on 26.8. until the main event.

- What is ShinRan Week?

ShinRan Week is a 7-day event dedicated to Detective Conan pairing Kudou Shinichi and Mouri Ran. For every day, there will be two prompts. Everyone is welcome to share fics, art, graphic edits, headcanons, text posts, and any other product of your imagination, for as many or few prompts as you like, for the other ShinRan lovers to enjoy.

- How do I participate?

Simply post your work on Tumblr and tag it with #shinranweek2022 in the first 5 tags so we and other fans can track and reblog! (Your blog will need to be searchable for this to work. You can also tag us directly in the post if you can’t/don’t want to make your blog searchable.) You may also submit your entries via the submit button on our Tumblr page.

- I don’t have a Tumblr account. Can I still participate? 

Of course! You can submit your entries here and we will post them for you. You may indicate your name/username and social media platform in your submissions so that people can know they are yours.

- How will you decide prompts? 

Like last year, we used the survey and its data to see what kind of prompts would interest you. The mods decide the official prompts taking your preferences and suggestion into account.

- What entries are allowed?

Fanfiction, fanart, graphic edits, fanmix, AMVs, headcanons, metas, colorings — any product of your imagination is welcome!

Friendly reminder: Since our intent is to celebrate our lovely power couple, we won’t accept anti-ship. And because this is a Shinichi/Ran event, their relationship must be the main focus of your creation. We won’t reblog reblogs that don’t have any new content or short text posts. If we are making the decision not to reblog a particular post, mods will send you a message to let you know about it.

- May we submit entries in a different language?

Yes.

- Are platonic ShinRan submissions allowed?

Yes, creations centered on their platonic relationship are appreciated too! Just please remember this is a ShinRan event, so try to focus on their relationship, whatever form it takes.

- What about Conan&Ran or Conan/Ran?

Sure. Again, please remember that the event centers on the relationship between Shinichi and Ran, so try to include elements of Shinichi in your creation as well. For Conan/Ran, sexual themes should be avoided.

- Can I write angst stories?

Realistically sad love stories sound great. We’d appreciate it if angst is properly tagged, so fluff-seekers don’t accidentally trip into it.

- What about OT3/OT4/polycule stories?

OT3/OT4/polycule submissions are allowed, so long as the focus of the entry remains to be ShinRan. We also advise tagging the submission accordingly.

- Are NSFW entries allowed?

NSFW works are welcome, but we will keep this official event blog SFW, so we won’t reblog them here. Feel free to tag them with #shinranweek2022 though.

- What are mini prompts?

Interactive Mini Prompts is a weekly pre-event aimed to engage participants and spark their creative juices. Every Friday, ShinRan-related questions or hypothetical scenarios, among others, will be posted and anyone may throw in their answers or ideas in the comments, reblogs, or tags. They may also respond through rough sketches, drabbles, or whatever comes of their own creativity. Mini prompts will be designed so that the responses to them can be fairly limited and not very time-consuming (i.e. multiple-choice questions, this or that, etc.).

- What if I had to suddenly stop creating content (can’t participate in the event) midway? 

It’s fine! Creators are not obliged to create content for all prompts on all seven days of the event.

- Will there be a set number of outputs for content creators in the event?

No. You can create as many or as few prompts as you like.

- What if I need more time to create content?

Worry not, late entries are allowed. We will be reblogging submissions until October 15.

But you know what? We all have been there! We all have been nervous to share our works at the beginning, at least I was! Gosh, I remember being so nervous when I participated in ShinRan week 2021 and the nearer the week came, the more I wanted to withdraw xD But I didn't, and I'm happy about it! So if you have any interest to participate, do it! You don't have to tell anyone beforehand, and like we mentioned before, you can post only one work, or nothing at all. Of course, we would love to see your creation and share it with others to let them admire it too, but there is no punishment if you decide against it. So you can start safely working with your favorite prompt and see how it goes :)

Do you have any OT4(Alya/Marinette/Adrien/Nino)Miraculous fics you can recommend?

I haven't seen that many that ship them all together, but this one by @mikauzoran, Getting the Gang Together, is pretty good! Also features Ace!Adrien.

Aside from that... wow, really not much, at least in my bookmarks. Often Kagami at least is part of the Polycule. OT4 is more likely to be at least semi-platonic than outright romantic.

No, of course not!!! 🥰

When I say OT4, I mean Marinette/Adrien/Alya/Nino — more specifically, Adrinette, Alyanette, Ninya, and Adrino. I love Alya & Adrien and Marinette & Nino as ride or die buds, but I don’t really ship them. And I like having platonic relationships within the polycule bc not every person within one has to be dating every other person!

(Plus I’m aromantic and imagining queerplatonic Alyadrien and Ninette makes my heart soar. Please do look up QPRs when you get the chance!)

I’m massive love square and Ninya trash for obvious reasons, and Alyanette and Adrino make me scream every time I so much as remember they exist. Alyadrienette was also my very first polyamorous ship ever, but I’d always feel guilty that I was leaving Nino out 😭 So instead of breaking people up and shuffling them around and stressing over which pairing I want in a story, why not all of them? That’s the same reasoning I’ve used for Adrigaminette in the past 😅

(It’s also why I love polyamory in general, because it’s another thing that shakes the very foundation of amatonormativity, or this idea that you have to meet the right person, get married, have 2.5 kids in a nice little house...all that stuff. Just like QPRs challenge the idea that close relationships have to be either romantic or “just” friends. I highly suggest looking these things up when you get the chance because they’ll really change the way you look at relationships in the best possible way)
