I’m not necessarily saying Caroline & Tyler are my “otp” (kill the idea of “otps” in general tbh I’m horny I love a good story & im here for all the different ships at different times in a story ok bitch) but I am taken tf out by the sheer horniness of their first hook up every single time like. They are ravenous for each other. however. every single time I watch it I’m also reminded how fucking scared I was that Caroline was gonna die the first time I saw it 😭 like I don’t think in retrospect that was the intended audience reception but I hated Rose with my entire soul & still remembered how goddamn brutal her death was & did NOT want that for my best friend Caroline & all I kept thinking was “Tyler is a werewolf she’s a vampire that’s hot & all but ALSO what if Tyler’s teeth graze her during sex 😭”

Arcane act 3 spoilers under the cut. Just ramblings to get my thoughts out until my friends catch up

Im somewhat conflicted abt the ending. The character development, especially of jinx was really well done imo. In season 1, her personality felt very unstable (obviously) and I didn't know how they would make her an actual character but they really did. She feels solid, fully rounded. The sisters together was so nice. Though the death at the end? Kinda unnecessary imo. Don't like the trope of "villain" redeem themselves through heroic act that leads to death.

With viktor, I'm SO GLAD he didn't stay that kind of machine herald. I would've flipped my shit if that became canon. He had been so different from his original personality and felt so stripped of agency in season 2, that I would've been super mad. The organic metal type deal was a fun idea, but man, the hexclaw not really being one at all?? Just like, a third arm that probably only lol players connect to the hexclaw? Kinda whack. The cool saviour design is nice and all, but it didn't really feel like Viktor doing it at all. And him implied to go through hundreds of time lines where he saves Jayce, what, like suddenly coming to his senses and becoming a mage?? How does that make sense? He can't retain his memory all the time if he's truly reliving these events (bc then he wouldn't make some mistakes in the first place) so.. What, he blips in like Ekko into a parallel universe? Idk it felt weird that it's Viktor who's the mysterious mage from season 1

Related but on a more positive note, I'm insane about Jayce being the one to remind Viktor of his humanity. The one constant Viktor can't rationalise away. The doomed yaoi fighting each other turning to embracing in the astral plane to save the world? Incredible. Jayce would love Viktor if he was a worm, as long as he was still Viktor. I genuinely expected him to drop an "I love you" or something on the nose like that, but ig their whole thing is "partners". Also the floating around a fixed point together, the parallel to their very first success with hextech mirroring their last, in the end with them finally reaching each other? We love to see it. Even if it's barely explained

The Caitlyn and Mel vs Ambessa fight was so cool. I couldn't stop myself from making jokes tho like "the botlane duo vs the Toplane otp" bc. With Mel having shields and having been hinted at that she'll be a champion too, it'd be cool if she's a support mage. I'd love another one for my arsenal. I don't quite get her whole storyline with the black rose and the blood or whatever, but that one is left mystical enough that I can appreciate what we got.

Sevika being on the council at the end was Super cool (ZAUN RIGHTS) but also leaves me with way more questions. She's the only Zaunite on the council, and as we can tell still not trusted by a lot of them. I don't know how that would work out, but ig it's a good first step?

Five: Dexter Charming.

He's not a bad character, by any means. He just ... doesn't interest me as much as the others. But I like his interactions with Raven. They're not my OTP, but they're a cute couple.

Four: Lizzie Hearts.

Her design is creative and interesting, and I really enjoyed her "Off with their head!" running gag. I might like her more if I saw her in action in Way Too Wonderland; I've only seen clips of that special, not the whole thing. (Also, I think the attempt at an English accent was a bit dodgy.)

Three: Maddie Hatter.

She's a fun character to watch - cheerful and goofy, but not to the point of annoyance. She's a supportive, encouraging friend for Raven. She gets some of the funniest lines. Her design is really cool, especially her bouffant multi-coloured hair. And I like the fact that she shares a voice actress with Amy Rose. I love it when I find connections between my special interests.

Two: Raven Queen.

I keep switching between Raven and Apple for the top spot. (Which is amusing, because I also quite like how they switch roles - Apple sometimes acts like an Evil Queen even though she's supposed to become Snow White.)

Right now, Raven's in second place, but not by much.

Raven appeals to me because of her mixture of strength and vulnerability. She's strong because she stands up for what she believes in, and she's determined to make things better for herself and for others like her. And she's got cool magic powers to boot! But she's also vulnerable because she has to struggle against the assumptions people make about her and the boxes they want to put her in. And she's clearly deeply affected by her mother's notoriety.

Raven is arguably the main character of Ever After High. The overarching plot is kicked into action because she doesn't want to follow her destiny. Unlike previous Rebels, who kept their transgressions a secret, Raven makes her act of defiance in a very public manner, and it encourages others to follow suit. Her story could be read as a metaphor for a member of a marginalised group fighting to change a system that holds people back for no good reason. Raven's quite inspiring, in that way.

The only thing I don't like about Raven is her hairstyle. I don't think it's the most flattering look.

One: Apple White.

Oh, Apple. Some people love her, some people hate her. I'm in the former category.

Don't get me wrong, I know she's flawed. She's so focused on what she wants that she doesn't stop to consider what other people might be going through. She sometimes says really insensitive things because of this. She claims to be friends with Raven, but keeps trying to push her to do things she doesn't want to do (including, but not limited to, poisoning her). And sometimes her dialogue sounds uncomfortably smug.

But I think it's precisely these flaws that make Apple an interesting character. She symbolises the kind of person who's benefitted greatly from an unjust system, and is scared to shake things up out of fear of what it'll mean to them personally. It's the old "To the privileged, equality feels like oppression" problem. By spending time with her, we get to understand that mindset - and we're perhaps forced to confront it in ourselves.

There could be another angle to Apple's resistance to change: an autistic headcanon. She's a logical thinker who likes to follow the rules and do things by the book (unlike Raven, who's more of a creative problem-solver). I like the idea that Apple is anxious about the future and that change is a major cause of stress for her. It does complicate the privileged-ruling-class metaphor, but hey, I enjoy a bit of complexity.

I also find it really interesting that Apple is a hard worker. She doesn't need to be. She's got her future all planned out; she's guaranteed to be loved by all. But she doesn't rest on her birthright laurels. She studies hard in school. She takes on leadership roles as practice for becoming queen. She tries to help people and address their concerns, although she doesn't always succeed. Apple wants to become the most beloved queen ever, and I can admire that determination.

And then there's the headcanon that Apple is a lesbian and didn't realise it because of comphet. It's a kiss from another girl, not her supposed Prince Charming, that wakes her from her cursed sleep in Dragon Games. Can you imagine how much that would shake her up? To believe her whole life that she's destined to be with a prince, so she accepts it despite her lack of chemistry with her prince because it's destiny and destiny is never wrong, only to discover that she might actually be attracted to women instead?

Again, that would mix up the privileged-ruling-class metaphor. Imagine if Apple realising she didn't fit the queen-to-be mould as she was "supposed" to, realising she was closer to the oppressed than she'd care to admit, was the thing that sparked her change of heart from Royal to Rebel. Now that would be interesting.

(Oh, and her hair. I love her hair. It looks so thick and soft.)

Apple White is many things at once, and that's why I love her.

My unpopular opinion about this character

hmmmm idk if this is like unpopular or not but I think she would genuinely feel uncomfortable around Damian for a while mostly as a result of like similar childhoods and like projection. Like the opposite of her and Bruce where the she Bruce sort of enjoy working together because of their on the same wavelength, similarities between her and Damian just make her uncomfortable at first.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

OHH I'd love to see cass in like a mentor role maybe like a canon-divergent where she's becomes Batman and ends up working with Damian or like so future story where she mentors someone like Nell or Maps.

I'd rly love to see cass in the sort ups and downs of a mentorship role.

Does my url mean nothing to you. But honestly speaking the blue beetle 2006 was one of the first comics I read as a kid and part of how I got into DC so Jaime will always be special.

ohh his dynamic with peacemaker in the 2006 run was cool but mostly I just enjoyed him with Brenda and Paco. His dynamic with Ted was so sweet in the blue beetle rebirth series from what I remember. Him and booster is cool too.

Idk if I have any unpopular opinions about I would say that I guess I never really see him as like a Justice league hero in the future. I very much like him doing his own thing with occasional appearances from other heroes rather than like on a team full time.

"You know what?" Raven sauntered around the desk from his seat. His usual cocky smirk replaced with a look of doubt. "I don't think you hate me as much as you say you do." Rose's blood went cold. Dark brown eyes hardened in denial as she tried to ignore the heat rising in her cheeks with a scoff. "Bullshit asshole."

"Oh yeah?" An eyebrow raised as he studied her.

"Yeah." Rose stood up from her seat. Her chin tilted upward, challenging him. "You think I like working here with your pathetic goons? Spending every second on a job next to you?  Your just a low life con man who steals what he doesn't need and doesn't care about who gets in the way. Your insufferable to be around."

She was trying to make herself look big with every word, small broad shoulders set back as she held her posture taller and her hands balled into fists at her sides. Her arms holding out alongside her body a little bit farther than usual. But Raven could see her clear as day, the way her ruby red lips pressed into a thin line and her dark brows knit themselves together, she was bluffing her disgust right in his face.

"Your lying Rosie." He whispered.

"You think I don't know that you don't give much of a shit as to what we take from these people? You were doing just the same all on your own before you worked with us. What changed? You finally found out where your heart was?" Rose just about tore her eyes away from him, nose scrunching up as the heat in her face grew unbearable.

For as long as she had been fighting the way she felt; beating it down with her fists as nothing more than a mistake waiting to happen, she couldn't deny that he was right about her. She always stole from whoever she thought would give the highest score and she never really cared enough to make sure no one was hurt. Only just enough that she survived another day.

She was just like him.

That's why she couldn't stand her being near him for so long. Every nerve in her body was made aware of him and his own. Every thought was consumed with him and was coiled with the echoic memory of his voice late at night. Raising the hairs on her skin in the dark until she couldn't stand the build up of wanting in her chest and sought release from her own hands.

God how she hated him.

Fuck how she wanted him.

"F-fuck you..." a slight waiver in her voice. He smiled his stupid wolfish smile for another moment, stepping forward to lean his upper body into her space until the tips of their noses were scarcely touching. He could smell her floral perfume, light and sweet. Rosemary suppressed a shiver of anticipation under his focused gaze as she turned to look at him. Watching him tilt his head slightly to look at her from another angle and stealing a peek at his pale pink lips pursed in thought. He could practically see the refusal to be defeated in her expression. His admiration of her persistence was well know among The Bombers and even to Rose herself, yet there was no doubt in her thoughts that he could see her heartbeat racing at her throat like a jackrabbit that was soon to be caught in the snares of its predator.

"You wanna give that a try tonight Rose?" He whispered, closely sounding sincere. "Or have you been all talk and no game this whole conversation?"  Rose shifted her thighs at the approaching ache that blossomed between her legs but she kept her eye contact as she did so. Her nostrils flared at the intrusive thoughts of ripping down those stupid ass overalls he wore over a shirtless chest, that did very little to hide his lithe physique, and pinning him down beneath her. Her legs would straddle his hips and her hands placing themselves spread flat on the hot surface of his chest, his arms lying above his head as she would begin to roll her hips down. His lips would curl into a smirk, she knew that for sure, but oh god what would his eyes look like all blissed out from her moving above him? As she held him within the warmth of her walls? Would that cocky look slip away the further she unraveled him? His icy blue eyes rolling as his lips parted to moan or would he simply laugh and roll them over while they were still connected? Would he give her what she wanted or deny her until she couldn't take it any longer? Until she was shaking and wet and crying for him to give her her release and admit that she wanted him. She wonders if he'll make her beg for it.

Rose's eyes flitted across sharp features, the red tint in her cheeks betraying her thoughts to him.

"I-.."

Raven's lips suddenly caught hers, warm and tasting of cigarettes. A shock of electricity raced up and down her spine. Setting every nerve ending on fire. His kiss startled Rose with a sharp gasp as she pulled away and stared at him wide eyed.

That shark smile was gone.

Everything was gone.

Raven stood there looking slacked jawed at her as if she had just showed him his own heart, still warm and beating in her hands, and was rather unaware or numb to the bleeding wound in his chest.

His eyes where wider than she's ever seen them, crystallized blue shining underneath confused brows pinning her to the spot. That sneering quirk of his mouth gone.

He looked at her, completely struck in awe as if a switch had been flicked and in the light of the room he had just seen the face of God.

He was suddenly afraid.

Very afraid.

"Rose..."

The door to Raven's office burst open suddenly, the two of them pulled their guns out on the intruder out of pure instinct.

The poor soul stuck on the other end of having two gun barrels pointed at him threw his hands up in the doorway as he muttered apologies. "Uh...S-sorry to interrupt boss..." the goon tempted fate and opened the door a tad wider. Both Rose and Raven letting out sighs of relief as they lowered their arms.

"What do you want?" Raven snapped.

The lackey let a great deal of air back into his lungs before jabbing a right handed thumb back in the direction he just came from. "New shipments arrived. That warehouse you wanted raided? The boys are back and I just wanted you to know that I got Dylan handling the special cargo."

"Good." Raven nodded. "Have Dylan move the cargo to where it needs to go, you'll need extra hands on board so grab some guys-"

"I'll go."

His eyes flickered over to Rose. Her expression made neutral as she shifted her whole front body away from him to focus her attention on the goon. On anything else. "How many more hands do you need?" He looked expectantly at his boss before addressing her, "With you, eh maybe five other guys myself included."

"Alright" she nodded, wanting to get out of the room. Take her mind off of what just happened. "Then what the hell are we waiting for?" Moving fast before Raven could interject, she walked briskly past the goon and through the doorway out of Raven's office, stopping only to turn back and look at Raven briefly before she looked away from him. "Well?" She asked the goon, "Lead the way." He nodded to her and walked past her through the door. Her hand reaches for the doorknob as she turns to follow him.

"Rosemary..."

Rose's heart plummets in her chest at the whisper of her name, head still buzzing from the kiss, she feels a restlessness in her legs that screams at her to run to him but she stands there at the door unable to move save for the slow turning of her gaze back to Raven still standing in place where he had kissed her. Her whole body shaking. She needed control of herself.

"Just be-" the door shuts closed in his face with a heavy thud, leaving Raven alone with his thoughts burning in his skull and a churning in his chest that he hasn't felt before.

"...careful."
