Something in Darius' demeanor softens a little, only just, when he regards Dèomas, shifting a little uncomfortably with a toss of his hair.

"You're good at whoreing, really, conniving and dodging looks good on you." He's sincere, flickering his hand to encompass Dèomas' clothing and appearance and general charms. "That's what's weird to me, that you keep trying to insist on...on being something else, on trying to be a civilian under all the tart paint. You know you're a slut, you're not above it all, and yet..."

Darius swallows hard and his eyes are suspiciously bright, the burr of his laugh a little too hoarse, shaking his head.

"You should've seen it coming- no, fuck, fine, that's not true, can't account for a fucking prince crafting a personal fuckpet, I guess. Never been owned before so you didn't know better than to...to keep hoping. And...hey? You got out, right?"

His laugh cracks right down the middle and he flourishes a little mocking bow that is more genuine cap-doff than he'll acknowledge.

"Good...good for you."

There is...a little pity in Darius' eyes when he sighs and crosses his arms over his chest, pinching the bridge of his nose. "I mean...I get lying to yourself but it's...it's just not smart to love something that isn't gonna love you back, you know?" Grimacing and softening his tone a touch as he leans into a whisper.

"Look. I know what you probably think of boys like me, I know your type, but just take it from a practiced slut and I've heard it all. You're a pretty stand-up guy, I guess, you're sincere anyway, so just...no matter how sweet your m- your liege-lord's pillow talk is, don't be stupid."

His grimace deepens like he's almost regretful and he flashes a tight smile and a shrug at Andreas.
